Good place to buy groceries and seafood smaller adult beverages area but a good variety also friendly cashiers. Clean restroom are a plus!
Val who works in the Deli is fantastic. She always gets your order correct.
Good pricing and friendly staff; deli is understaffed on occasion but I still enjoy shopping there.
Nice clean store good product selection.
Very dirty store.
Love the store... but with everything going on... they require masks now... no signs outside the store... I mean what am I gonna do when I have to bring my son in that has autsim who will not wear a mask... will you tell us to leave? Refuse us groceries? What has this world come too?
Ordered 2 dozen cupcakes for a baby shower. Worst cupcakes I have ever had. First a blob of frosting on each one and the frosting was terrible. Had 7 kids there and they didnt even want them
Dave the store manager is extremely nice and generous! He does so much for the community and always helps Boone Grove Emementary with donations for their events. We appreciate everything he does and would like to thank him. We couldnt make this events happen without his help!
Town & Country has a great variety of products. The have their own best value products that can save lots of money for quality products. The cakes are fresh and beautifully decorated. The produce is good with a nice selection. The employees are friendly and helpful.
I am disabled . i have survived a widow maker heart attack . I am high risk and have been told this virus i most likely not survive. I ordered food and order got screwed up not by shopper but the system added my last order to 2nd order. I tried 3 times to get them to fix the order, ended up being told i would get 35 dollars off next order . that was a lie. the system they use for ordering for those stuck at home is very flawed . when you get someone online ( you cant call them ) you are put on hold then it times out i made 7 calls online trying to just get them to get it right . I will not shop here or stracks because in this pandemic i will risk death before i go to these stores. i hope everyone reads this and stops going to this business .
Pretty good grocery store. Excellent sales. Be careful what you buy, some items are very high.
My wife and I both feel comfortable dealing and shopping with this store and have been customers for many decades..... It has changed names over the years but it has been a consistent good place to shop!!
Produce was a bit old, but the people there are nice and have occasional samples. Sushi is good as well.
Been shopping here for a VERY LONG time. They have selective bargains that yield lower prices than big box stores. The meat department always has fresh meat and a good selection but my favorite is the deli and fresh fish counter. The sales prices on fish are usually very good. The BEST part is the fact they will cook it & spice it the way YOU want it, the more experienced personnel are AWESOME! Been eating from here for years, try it for dinner, it very convienant, they get it all done while you shop.
The cashiers are very friendly. Sometimes the store looks dirty. Also I have to check expiration dates on many items . One time there was expired milk in the milk case.......not good. I have found other expired items on the shelves. TC really needs to check their stock for expired items. I have brought this to the attention of several TC employees in the past but when I was shopping at TC yesterday I noticed there were still expired items on the shelves....example bottled lime juice.....one bottle was on the shelf with a use by date in 2018.
I dont trust the cleanliness of this store. They cant even clean up the broken marquee tiles from the parking lot and sidewalk in front of the store. For years this litter has just been lying there. How can you assume their meat department is sanitary when they cant even pick-up their own litter. Gross me out.
It is very unreliable in the customer service department. They have at least one cashier who is always mean spirited. I leave and go to aldi if shes working.
Good prices in sale items. Workers are very friendly. The deli needs a talking too. Take a number only 2b passed over with customers after me with NO NUMBERS
2 employees and possible another were hanging out in the girls bathroom when I was purchasing water around 830pm, they both walked in casual 2 separate times, I was their long enough to actually see an old lady later walk in, the 3 came out together, literally the tall 1 with dirty blonde hair said o well and just kept walking, I looked and doubled looked no signs of transparent bathrooms and they were clearly marked Womens and Mens Restrooms, please handle your employees, if my daughter was to use this restroom while they were in their, u guys would have a much bigger issue.
If I had to bag my own groceries that’s fine, but at least say hello, or “have a nice day”! Why has customer service become sub par?
Town & country is owned by strack & Vantill. Its supposed to be a lower cost or compared to their stores. You pack your own groceries at check out. I do not find myself shopping there often because it is further distance from my home than other stores. Many people shop there.
We got our wedding cake from Town and Country Bakery on Saturday July 23. The cake was delivered exactly when they said it would be. The cost was reasonable, and ALL of our guests talked about how great it tasted! Thank you so much! I will def. be returning!
Kyle G. was the checkout employee speaking to another employee going through his line ahead of me, how South Haven is not a place he would bother to go to be with anyone and putting it down. I live there and found him rude. We have a beautiful home and keep it up as do our neighbors. Many places have run down areas including Valpo. Someone needs to speak to this employee.
I seem to think their prices are better than Stracks, their sister store...but I could be wrong. I have learned the store and appreciate they dont change brands often. It is always clean. The staff does not turn over often, some of them have watched my children grow up. Its not perfect, but definitely my go to staple!
Love the low prices an best of all the FRIENDLY STAFF,,
Im just not happy with the quality of their food, every time Ive shopped there my meat has been to tough when cooked or spoiled. Im not sure what is going on with the store because I have been shopping there since I was a kid and I have to say the last year I avoid it any more. It makes me sad because I have great memories from growing up and shopping there.
Best grocery store in Valpo! They always have what u need and plenty that I dont (and buy anyway!). The staff is very friendly and helpful as well.
Love my local Town & Country! Great mom and pop store!
Great place to shop. Friendly staff. Great prices.
For the sake of low prices not bad at all.
We have loved Town & Country forever. Even after the takeover by the parent of Jewel, same friendly staff, great selection and prices.
My favorite! Although prices do seem to be climbing up a bit. Always have everything I need. Great customer service!
Wonderful store! After checking out, I noticed that the plastic wrap around my loaf of bread was cut open along the whole side. That cashier sent someone to get me a new loaf. Im very grateful since I am handicapped and walk with a cane. She saved me more painful walking. Thank you.
Decent food options lower prices quick in-and-out trip. I do like seeing that they have the hot foods available and they do have a sushi bar as well. Its owned by the same people as Stracks, does not have all the bells and whistles that the Stracks down the street does but thats why they have the lower prices.
I love t&c. I shop there every week. The personnel are always kind and helpful. I hope the rumors about the stores closing are wrong. Thats where I want to shop!
Open and functioning despite technical problems that shut down stores across the area. Customer service is excellent! Management was very helpful to customers.
Things are where you expect them to be, you can actually find employees who are willing to help you, and the sushi is almost restaurant quality.
Descent prices. Customer service was good. The produce was below average.
Never have issues here clean, nice place to shop.
Do not shop at this store. When first walking in, theres an immediate stale smell to the air. Lots of employees around, but one wonders what their roles are. They are not assisting customers, or cleaning the store. The store was filthy. Dirty floors and shelves, with many items out of stock. The produce was especially bad, and moldy cabbage was front and center on the shelf. There are lots of other places to shop close by, I would never buy food from here.
Town & country is one of the best stores Ive ever been too. I thank the employees for being so helpful
Small no frills, lower prices, grocery store. Usually in & out quickly. Have 2 do ur own bagging but may request assistance 2 ur auto if needed
Always the freshest fruits and vegetables and the meat selection is impeccable. I would recommend this store to everyone who lives in Valpo.
Nice, bright, clean local grocery store. Friendly people, decent prices and selection.
Bought Sushi kit as a gift and the sushi department was very helpful! Very nice experience.
Favorite place to go get your food and wine and meet your friends and neighbors
Lines to check out are long often, took out self scanners for some reason. Prices are about the same as Stracks because it is Stracks. Ceiling tiles are missing or damaged in several locations, with obvious signs of leaks. There is a service road to the parking lot of the north side which might be easier to access during busier times.
Nice clean store, hige, large selection of most items. Would be nice if tjey jad signs abobe stating what was in each isle.
Fail to offer self-serve checkout, even during the pandemic
Nice staff. Decent selection and prices. New ownership so prices have gone up a bit, hopefully not permanent.
Fantastic prices! Friendly folks! Great shopping experience!
Love this store on Calumet in Valpo!. So clean and huge variety!!!
Love the mini customer in training grocery carts. They were having some great sales!
We have shopped here for 4 decades, through several owners. They have generally had the best prices, with friendly, personal service and good fresh produce consistantly.
Great sales .. customer service is great. . 1.50 per pound extra to fry fish. RidiculousWe will never do that again. . Have to stick to only sale items. . Everything else can be bought cheaper at other stores . Chemical spill smell today was horrific and politically toxic for those with breathing problems.
Fair prices fresh produce could be better.
FIRST TIME VISIT. GOOD PRICES CLEAN, WILL BE BACK!!!! DONNA REALLY NICE AND HELPFUL
Clean and not cluttered like others. And when they are stocking they actually say there sorry
Great seafood and produce selection. I usually get my kids birthday cake here. $24 for half sheet with design. Great deal
Long time customer, great place to shop.
That store really Awesome! The priceso are Amazing Here! T&C and Costco are my favorites!
Forgot about this hidden gem.Good prices alot of good markdowns.
I’ve lost count of how many times I have bought spoiled milk from this store. A few days ago we returned chocolate milk. My 9 year old drank a few cups not realizing it was spoiled. My husband went to drink some and immediately smelled it (This why my kids stomach was hurting for 2 days) A few minutes ago I go to pour a glass of milk and it is also spoiled, even though the sell by date is July 16. Someone is labeling them wrong or something. I don’t know, but I’m not buying dairy products from this store anymore.
Need to carry more sugar free jelly.
Ever since they were taken over by strack and vantil, they have gone down hill significantly. Prices went way up, bakery no longer on site and they just straight up dont care about the customers. The employees acknowledge that prices on sales are not correct, but they are taking NO action to help customers get it right (thats likely because they too are not valued by mgmt.). This really deserves a 1 star, but dont want this to be treated as a one off exception
A quick trip for only a few items, I waa in and out. No lines to stand in and not super busy! Love it!
Always find what Im looking for within my budget
Got the grocery items needed & Redbox movie, wasnt too busy....however, today my Wife brought home a box of (4) cherry Pacszkis THEY WERE REALLY BAD. THEY TASTED LIKE THEY WERE A WEEK OLD....DRY and NASTY!!! NOT WORTH The$2.99 she paid for them🤢
Town and Country is my choice for groceries in Valpo. They typically have better prices and less frills than some of the other Ritzy stores in town. Most products are offered in both name brands and store brand, which I like. If your grocery getter is a Porsche then maybe this isnt the store for you, if you are a normal person then this is your store.
My very favorite grocery store in valpo. Im there all the time, everything is easy to find and people are friendly. Also good vegetarian options!
This is the round-it-up store. Give to many charities but at this store every week they ask you to give to their charity. Did for awhile but not anymore. Thank you!!
Selections are great. Easy find in aisles. Staff courteous.
Grocery store its self is good but never be in a hurry long waits in check out lanes
Good selection of food, friendly staff and cheaper than Stracks.
At times this store can be very busy, but I was able to find everything I forgot to pick up for a Thanksgiving meal.
Great sales. Close. Convenient.
Good service in and out really fast and everything you could need!
Great store... Just wish it wasnt soo beat.
Bright, clean, wide isles. Friendly helpful staff. EZ access from road.
I love shopping there the prices are the best part because there low and i save money when i shop there.
Easy to find everything I needed.
Easy in out. prices good.
Good prices, but, just like the rest of the Strack and Van Til franchise, they need to check their expiration dates more thoroughly. Have come home many a time with expired product. Brought it up to management but it still happens.
Excellent produce section. Wish they had a larger selection of vegan options.
Its a good place to get groceries its busy but it has good prices
Great bakery, good selection of items. Friendly service
Great place helpful people good deals and they have a centier bank
Has been around a long time and I know where to find everything. Plus good sale prices.
Always good meat, fair prices, and good customer service!
Serbia is consistently very good and associates ready to help you find food items.
Wonderful place to shop. Very clean.
Best price for the 3 stores owned by the same company, probably because this store has you bagging your own items.
Large parking lot. Good grocery deals. Courteous employees.
It a great place with good price but the lines take forever
Since the transition, shelves are not stocked or items run out frequently. Prices have been raised and it is no longer the least expensive option in town. Produce department has never learned hpw to take care of produce. Constant wet produce will make it rot faster. Really disappointing lately. Maybe the new owner will improve it, but most likely it will close.
The deli people were nice and friendly, the cashier was rude, the store was dirty, you would think that the mgmt. Would take a little more pride in his store. Next time we will try the new Meijer store.
Always polite workers. Stock handelers too the manager. They are always polite, and willing to help you find what you need. Cashiers, are polite, and knows their jobs. They maybe swamped, but they stay cool. Prices are resonable. And shelfs are well stocked. Shop every week there.Eva Black
Great sales, in stock items, cashier Kya V was delightful.
Affordable prices and the selection of items. Shopped there for years.
My favorite place to shop for groceries. Everything easily found, fresh food. Love it.
