Went for the first time to Yas bakery in Vienna for the first time on 9/12/20. It is a good place with Halal meat and Iranian and Turkish specialities. We bought a couple of things including one boxed food written Turkish style pizza Albaladi lahmajun.Three of six breads were stale with fungus on it.The other three could not be baked properly as they were over frozen and remained wet no matter how long it was baked

First of all, the place is dirty. There were a few pieces of hair in the ice cream fridge. A few bottles of some water near rose water (dont remember the name, starts with F) have huge mold inside. A lot of products dont have a price tag. Last but not least, they overcharged me for a couple of items. The pistachio turkis candy floss was supposed to be $3.99 but they charged me $5.99 eventhough it had a big red tag that says $3.99 on it. I also got some meat that was overcharged by a dollar. And as Ive mentioned, a lot of items dont have a price tag on them and they ended up being more expensive than expected (like $8.99 for a bottle of yogurt drink or $3 for a fruit roll). Not that I care about saving a few bucks but I cant help thinking that they do this on purpose to make extra cash. Also the lady at the register wasnt wearing a mask, she just had it on her chin.

This place provides a good variety of Mediterranean products (Persians) and fresh baked goods. I really enjoyed the flavor of pastries! There are many customers and you may need to wait for few minutes. The cashier and staff are nice, but I believe they are not professional! Some products are not priced accurately. They incorrectly billed me for various things that I didnt have in my bags. Some of the items dont have an expiry date and you can end up buying an outdated item!

Overpriced. For groceries, try gourmet bazar or Yekta Supermarket; and for bakery, try Yasaman bakery. All of these stores are located in Rockville, MD (about 17 miles from Yas bakery); and they are conveniently located about one mile from each other. While you were there, you could also try Sadaf or Yekta restaurants or for Persian foods.

A fantastic Persian bakery in Vienna. They are also a nice supermarket for many items you wont find other places, and some you will. I strongly suggest you take a stop by and get some nice items that are hard to find, like brown basmati rice and a great olive and but selection. You can also get a nice selection of lamb meat. Even more rare items like lamb tongue. The staff are very friendly, and can answer questions. I highly suggest this shop. :)

Best Persian bakery and store in the DC Metro area. Their sweet treats are some of the best in the area, which includes non-Persian ones like tarts. Even though it’s not in its prime, Yas bakery is a pungent gateway into the Persian and Mediterranean fields, where true earthy deliciousness lay bare to be reaped for its fruits. Herbs, naan, and savory glacé that melts into your tongue, imprinting a forever lasting memory of pure, euphoric paradise. This was yesterday, now imagine it’s continued improvement as covid is saying it’s goodbyes!

I went there to buy some Persian and Turkish baklava. I know due to the covid, the pastries might not be too fresh; but they were truly old. It was so bad that we couldnt eat it at all. The taste was awful, and it seems that they hadnt sold it for weeks. I think they should not sell these things to costumers. We bought about 50$ and threw it away right after we got home.

I asked my friend to get me two boxes of Persian sweets, Zaban and Helal Behishti. My friend is not Persian to tell if theyre old or not just by looking at it, and they gave him old sweets. I mean look there’re not so many persian groceries around, but Yas is a poor place to go. If I could rate it as zero star I would. Prices are up to the roof. Like they mark every item a couple of bucks above its market prices. Rude customer service. What’s wrong with Iranian people? The dude was so angry and kind of entitled. What do expect when items rarely have price tag. I have to ask, and the guy was like why you asking! At least do the basic part of your business properly. They were only 2 carts!! Are u kidding me? How am I supposed to carry my stuff in your super narrow aisles? You can find majority of items in other places in VA fairly cheaper and with superior shopping experience. My honest feedback: avoid this place and spend your money somewhere else ‘till this place learns how to price its items, fix its behavior, and put on a better experience for shoppers.

All things Persian as well as some Turkish products can be found here. The have a good selection of prepared (frozen) Persian dishes ... good goat cheese ... fresh TAFTOON bread baked daily (get it hot out of the oven!) ... fresh meats, and a rather wide selection of Persian confections (the walnut macaroons are divine!) One star deducted for being on the pricey side.

I used to be their long term customer, and I bought Zulbia couple days ago and after trying it at home, the quality was not good, so my mother called them and The owner Maryam has asked Her to throw away what we bought as she claimed that she is aware of the issue. And she asked us to come back to get refund but when I went back there, she completely refused to honor what she said, and she yelled at me, bad mouthing and told me if you need to get refund, you need to bring the zulbia. she issued the refund after disrespecting me.

There arent too many Persian bakery/small markets around here. If there were, not many were as well stocked with a very large (and fresh) array of Persian/Middle-eastern products in this small 3-aisle store.Cmon, they have (among many goodies) saffron ice cream, small fresh meat section on hard to find cuts, surprising section of fresh in-season veggies & fruit, and a number of items that frankly looks great to buy & sample. Now, it is in Vienna so there is an additional local city tax. The location is just next to so many other stores (Ritas, sushi, pizza, paint-your-own pottery, beads, others) on the same strip, its worth trip to just browse; especially when there are so many locals too (eg. Not a tourist trap).
