Brought my mazda here for a timing chain replacement and to have an oil leak fixed. Super fast and quality service. They were able to get me an appointment the same week I emailed them and had all of the work done the same day I brought the car in! Ill definitely be bringing my car here for all of my repair needs. Only mechanics on the island Ill let touch my mazdarati!

Great place, been taking our cars here for a couple years. Always professional, always friendly and I feel like they are fair and trustworthy. Ive never felt like they were anything shady at all. Im not sure if Phillip is the owner or manager, but he always calls it like it is without beating around the bush or adding on any unnecessary charges. Overall, great place and great service.

Couldnt ask for anything better. Theyre service was top notch.I had the wheels to my 2016 Kia/Soul alignment and also had it safety checked. Couldnt have been more than 40 minutes to have both done. Shop was nice and clean as well as their waiting room and the staff was polite plus informative as to the questions I asked.

Took my Mustang here because they are one of two places on island that offers Road Force Balancing. Workers were friendly & polite, service was quick and prices were more than reasonable ($28/tire for road force balancing...same price I paid in Indiana!). Shop is clean and wait area is nice & comfortable. Surprisingly clean bathrooms for a mechanic shop too!I plan to go back here for future tire/alignment work.

NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN ! I brought my car in for a simple safety check sticker and they fiddled with my entire car. They took my car and had their way with it. They drove it and put it up on their lift and lifted it up sky high and to their amaze my sports car still had its original stock exhaust. What were they thinking? I caught them hitting my axel and CV joint with a HAMMER. And I caught them pulling out my car alarm speaker wire from out underneath the rear bumper. And then I caught them playing around my new tires. And then they lowered my car back down and tested my one way mirror window tint and shot it from the outside in, and told me it no pass. They never consider shooting my perfectly legal window tint from the other way around. They also soiled my entire car which cost $600 to clean off the upholstery and wash the whole car. In all my hassle time and money they never gave me my safety check sticker.

They offered a deal for wheel alignment and safety check at a discount. I did the wheel alignment in July and was told I needed to fix my back window tint before my safety check expired in Nov. or it wouldnt pass. Thanks for the heads up.

I will never go anywhere else while I live in Hawaii! These are your true automotive professionals. The experience is leaps and bounds better than the competition. My first visit I was in my military uniform and did not feel judged as having deep pockets, nor as a female did I feel judged as lacking knowledge about cars. They spoke to me like a human, which is unfortunately not common. They did a quick diagnosis and put in a new battery with a two year warranty. It was the cost of the battery which I paid, there were no fees for install, diagnostics, or the warranty(that other crooks usually try to charge). They are doing honest work for the customers satisfaction and not for the money. The second time I came in was for replacement of the battery. The technician said it was free because of the warranty and that if this happens again, they will look for other underlying issues. I feel secure with these guys. Perfect.

I purchased a Groupon for inspection and alignment. The 1st visit I was told that my tires needed replacement and another issue, I had to ask the gentleman to write up an order of issues and price. He appeared to be agitated and answering very vague and bland. I fixed the issue and returned a week later, upon me referring back to the order the gentleman was again agitated and didnt want for me to speak. I had to let him know that I had to speak so we are all on the same page for the repairs. They for now did a good job on the maintenance. As for the person to person handling not sure if its a women thing or just arrogant on his behave. Will I use again maybe I just have to be able to deal with the attitude can I dont know, its a shame that this can kill a business.

First time I was there, my cars engine light was on, they did a free check - yep, FREE check - and explained me detailed whats wrong and what would be the best solution. They didnt try to make any money with me, really just tried to help me out. Second time a got an oil change done at this shop and was in and out within 15 minutes - they even filled up the air in the tires. Can only recommend this place! Thumbs up!

Failed a safety inspection for small bubbles in my tint. Read the Hawaii state law on tint requirements as well as a safety inspection checklist and no where does it say youll fail for bubbles in the tint... Only tint that is too dark. Good thing I enjoy wasting my time or else this would have been irritating.

Bad alignment. Payed $90 for an alignment here, right away out of the shop it still leans to the right just like before. They obviously DID NOT road test it, poor mechanics trying to get the job done ASAP without any care for quality control. Very disappointing from a professional. Take your car to a pro mechanic who cares, not a bunch of guys sitting around a franchise shop who want to do bare minimum work.Sleezy overall, will not be returning,

Their labor rate is unreasonably high for the quality of work. I felt like I was taken advantage of.1. I prepaid for a part and they were supposed to call when they received it. They failed to .2. They allowed their family memebers to jump ahead of waiting customers.3. My vehicle had more problems after I picked it up from their service. They then recommended changing of parts that were unnecessary.Do not recommend this place.

The staff was very nice. The shop looked like it was in tip top shape. They were able to find the problem on my car in minutes and had the parts delivered and installed by the time I walked to Starbucks and back.I found prices to be higher than what I was used to on the mainland. If they offered a military discount this would be my go to shop. I will continue to handle most of the work myself or seek help from knowledgable friends.I would recommend this shop who needs professional help with their vehicles.

Very reasonable rates on fixing those mechanical problems with your car. They can also fix that non working a/C and lots of the other problems you might be having with your car or truck.

Today i took my 2011 nissan altima at this place coz my service engine soon light was on for a while. They did a thorough diagnosis and said that it wasnt anything that serious. and quite surprisingly they even didnt charge me a single penny. Absolutely honest and trustworthy people. Highly Recommended.

Today was the first time I’ve been to the shop without Phil there and it is the first time I have walked away choosing to get car service somewhere else. I don’t know what the manager’s name is because he doesn’t introduce himself and gave me a smart remark when I asked if I could just purchase the part. Additionally, while in the waiting room I asked a rotund Japanese-looking worker/mechanic where the remote was so I could change the channel and he replied that there was no remote and that there was only one channel on the tv (HGTV) - obviously lazy bad customer service. I also don’t agree with the $495 quote I received to change the radiator on my 2005 Jeep Liberty. The manager said it would $230 for the part and the rest labor which means they wanted to charge me 2.5 hours labor at a rate of $116 per hour = not the honest auto shop I thought this place was. I won’t be back.

This shop as a whole is awesome theyre super courteous extremely knowledgeable and a really friendly. Even if you live in town or on the east side I would still recommend making a trip out to see thr guys at Capitol Auto.

Purchased a Groupon coupon for a wheel alignment and safety check for Capital Auto Service which is located just past Costco Waipio. Made an appointment for 2:30 pm. Got there 15 minutes ahead of my scheduled time. They took me right in with no difficulty. Since my Safety Check was not dued for another 6 months, they were more than willing to postpone the Safety Check till then. This place is great, cant say enough about this business, great people, great service, beautiful layout, wished I had known about this place earlier. Just 3 months prior to this alignment, I had quite a few things that needed to be replaced on my 2006 Honda CRV, since it had over 200,000 miles on it! I spent over $3,000 and just had the worst experience with another auto repair shop that had lots of 5 star reviews! Thanks Groupon, if it wasnt for your advertisement/coupon for this business, I would never have used this place! Again, Im so glad that I found Capital Auto Service! This is where Ill be coming to have all my car repairs done from now on, hands down! Btw, Ill be telling all my friends about this place! Im sure theyll be very impressed!

Been coming here for years. In uniform or out of uniform, they will tell you what needs to be done with your car and not request something that is unnecessary. They have helped us out with safety inspections, double-checking warranties, and making sure we even get coupons from manufacturers. Been to a lot of shops on the island, before I found these guys, and will not go anywhere else. I dont know whats up with some reviewers that talk about a bad attitude, but I will tell you that if you come in with a bad attitude anywhere on this tiny little island, youre going to get that right back!Often times, especially with the states safety inspections, there are a lot of weird and convoluted rules. So if you brought your car from another state, and you have anything from window tint to light tint to aftermarket bulbs to buying a used car from an on-island dealer that has had some modifications, youre gonna need to take another look at that. Dont jump on the shop that tells you somethings wrong! All of the shops here have to take pictures and have to put their name and license up whenever they approve a vehicle for a safety check.After years of working with them, I will tell you for a fact, these guys are on the up-and-up. Clean shop. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Air-conditioned waiting area, where you can see your vehicle on the list. Technicians are polite, respectful, and the owner is always on site to double-check everything. These guys are the best.

My wife got a Groupon deal for an alignment and State Inspection.The guy tells me the headlights on my car do not pass because ofa blue tint. I ask how much to replace? He said $50 per light.I said dont worry I will pick up a replace set of bulbs from an auto store.As I called around I found that the only bulbs that would fit my year andmake of car were $300 a piece.I called the shop and asked what was he going to put in my car that cost $50.I stated that the dealer said my current bulb was not after market and should pass inspection, which I agreed, because it passed inspection the year before with no problem.I get to the shop to complete my inspection and I asked why did your boss (the owner with the mild Australian accent and not so mild attitude) tell me the lights failed inspection.The assistant said for that make we dont have a $50 replacement, and that we automatically fail inspection for blue tinted lights, even though some we have to inspect to make sure they are not the manufactured issued bulbs which will pass.I sad hat means he didnt even look at my lights! How did you fail me and waste my valuable time having to come back after running around town for no reason? He tried to defend his boss, but to no avail.I said your boss is dishonest and new from the start that my bulbs were fine, but hoped I would just say go ahead and replace the bulbs.The owner framed any challenging questions as an attack on him personally, as if you were challenging his intellect. You can not win in a situation like this because only a therapist can get to the root of his problems.Stay away! The Groupon savings arent worth it!

Went in for an alignment. The manager tried to tell me my tires had uneven wear and his machine aligned to the outside of the tire. He said he could not align them without my new, less than 10,000 mile tires being replaced. This would be the first ever alignment machine that aligned to the tire. Many of the machines do hold on to tread but they still align to the rim. I think these guys need to go back to school before messing with peoples cars and costing them hundreds more. I took it to Firestone where they know what they are doing and they aligned it in an hour. Worst of all the guy tried to argue with me in the waiting room full of people because I told him to just take my car off the rack I did not want to buy tires. They clearly have no mechanical or people skills.

About 6 months ago, Not sure if it was the owner or one of the techs but he had an accent and was very very arrogant with me as if I know absolutely nothing. All I needed was an engine diagnostic to check if the check engine light was on from changing my stock intake on my tundra to a k & n cold air intake. That was the only thing I did and then the light came on. He acted as if I was stupid and knew nothing. Very rude. As I was getting ready to snap back at him his demeanor changed and I decided to hold my tongue. AVOID DONT GO. RUDE DISRESPECTFUL

Bought groupon for safety check and alignement for my 02 frontier. Big mistake, first thing the staff did was lift my front tire up and down with an oversize crowbar, saying that my lower ball joint was loose; with an oversize crowbar, im pretty sure any ball joint is going to move a little. Of course, I fail my safety check, but on that same day, I went to Ft. safter Military base and I pass with flying color. FYI, once they get their dues, they pretty much can say what they want!
