I was extremely happy with the service at Pleasant! I brought in my mothers 17 year old Mercedes that hadnt been driven at least 14-15 months during CoVid, and probably longer. They did major work on brakes and fixed a multitude of other issues from charging the A/C, putting on 4 new tires, changing oil, doing general tune up to changing my license plates since I couldnt get the old screws loosened by myself. I had to call a tow once I drove off the next exit and ended up waiting 3 hours for AAA. I called over to Eddie’s shop not knowing about him or his shop and he was pleasant and professional right off the bat after hearing my situation. He was upfront with how busy he was as it was 3pm on a Thursday and said he would get to it the next morning.That next morning he called me up immediately and Walked me through what I was dealing with. (Engine failure) He had taken an extra step by calling my vehicles warranty seeing if it was covered so he would have a solution for me prior to talking with me and spoke to me for 30mins about the causes of this happening and what I should do next. He was not selling me anything, rather looking to find a solution to my already bad news.I had never met Eddie before this encounter and I really wish I had. Extremely professional and kind hearted. Always get a second look from another Mechanic, They will call you and show you photos of almost everything. wrong but whatever you brought the car in for. its all part of the big sales pitch After spending over 4k on repairs unrelated to why i even brought the car in for. I bring it back still stalling and not starting 50 percent of the time. they sell me a new sensor okay hopefully thats all! get down the road and stall! but WAIT you need another 2k in Radiator repairs. Upon passing and taking to another shop and not sharing my experience here telling them i have a bad and leaking radiator system they look and did not find anything like what this place claimed they told me it was fine. Always listen to someone when they are advising you on your repairs and take them serious. But when you go here you might want another look. they will send you convincing photos and tell you how unsafe it is. but i would only suggest you do a service to the wallet and. get another look. My Radiator system is fine. and my car is still stalling and not starting..oh almost forgot how after asking her to just top my coolant off they did not.

I went for a new battery after finding that mine was leaking battery acid. They replaced the battery (about $200 with labor) and also did a courtesy check up. They found that the brakes and rotors needed replacing, as well as the cabin filter. They also flushed the brake fluid. They were able to do all of this in a few hours and it totaled about $700. Great customer service!

For transparency, my daughter works here, but I started going to Pleasant Car Care years before she began working there. I like them so much that I continue to go to them even now, after moving an hour away. I did not have a satisfactory experience the last time I was there. Mr brake pad light turned on after a few months of doing a complete brake job(new rotors and pads), which they said will be warrantied. When they looked at for an initial assessment, they said right up this is because some one had cut the brake pad sensor and it is not going to be covered and I need to pay myself. I did not appreciate that they claimed this as the main reason without any evidence.

The folks at Pleasant Car Care are great. I’ve taken my car to them for over a year and have always been very happy with the service, not to mention they are very reasonably priced. Chris and the other employees I’ve interacted with are extremely friendly, helpful, and never pushy. They have always treated me with respect, and never get annoyed when I ask them a million questions. Ive tried pleasant car care twice as of now; both in Newton and Watertown, and Ive been pleasantly satisfied! My last visit was a shocker because I went in thinking I needed a simple battery change until it turned out I needed a new alternator and there was liquid in my power steering wheel. Cost me a pretty penny to fix but nonetheless I am happy with the quality of their work and professionalism. Not once did I feel I was being taken advantage of. Ive definitely found a reliable mechanic!

I left my car on a Saturday morning to get an inspection sticker during the coronavirus pandemic. They were super professional and clean, and I didn’t worry about my car at all. The shop is conveniently located next to the Charles River recreational path, so I took a lovely walk. My car was ready when I came back, and I was able to use Apple Pay without pulling out my credit card. I’ll be back for other services for sure!

1st service was for wheel alignment. I came away thinking these were good straight forward mechanics. Later on I found that my front tires were over inflated to 42 psi. but I simply chalked this up to over-sight.2nd service brought a car in for brake pad and rotor replacements and ended up having to replace calipers and additional work. Turns out there’s no savings when you do these work all together. I chalked this up to my fault for not going through the estimate before giving the green light.3rd service brought car in for mileage service and was told I needed to replace bushings. Also they recommended trans fluid flush and coolant flush. I asked about the fluid colors but they didn’t check that - just recommended based on mileage. Fine. When I went to pick up, I asked them about brake shoe measurements; no surprise, they don’t take measurements. Simply said I was fine. Then while driving home I was trying to wipe my windshields but no wiper fluid. Guess they didn’t check my wiper fluids. Fine.Overall opinion is that this business has a good social media manager but otherwise it’s a standard garage who tells you they are trustworthy and wants you to take their word for it, prices just a bit below dealer prices, but comes up short on the details.

Not a good experience. Took hours (for oil change) and they tried to trick me into getting unnecessary repairs on my car. The person in the customer office was not wearing her mask properly and it kept slipping down her nose as she was talking. The whole experience was a disappointment. I ended up wasting money and feeling unsafe.

I brought my car in for a simple oil change and inspection sticker. Was told I wouldn’t pass inspection because of extensive issues that equaled about $2k in repairs. Brought my car to the dealership for a second opinion, no concerns found and my car passed inspection. Based on the reviews left, I decided to reach out and get an estimate for a known issue on my car.The people working here were extremely thorough and knowledgeable. They walked me through what was exactly wrong with my car, reasons that may have caused it and solutions that could be done. The cost of labor wasnt unreasonable as well. I left my car with them and everything was taken care of within a day. I was surprised to say the least. After all the gleaming reviews I was excited to find an honest auto shop. I went in with some braking issues, and they claimed I needed new rear brakes ($460, normally in $200-300 range elsewhere), and some other work including an air filter (of course) totaling nearly $800. I took the vehicle a second shop and they said brakes were in great shape, had some rust accumulation and $60 later I was good to go. Glad I sought a second opinion.

Absolutely outstanding customer service!! I hit a curb and popped my tire, right down the street from this shop. I saw they closed at 6pm (it was 6:02), but I called anyways praying for someone to answer. Fortunately they did and the girl who answered the phone was SO HELPFUL. I asked if someone could please quickly change the tire, as I had a spare in the trunk. She said it was not a problem and to drive it over. Everyone there was so kind, even though it was after hours. They even had 2 new tires available that fit my car. I bought them and had them put on and they had me out of there in less than 30 minutes. Because of their kind and quick service, they will now be my go-to shop! I truly thank you!!!!!

This place is fantastic! I took my car in near closing on Saturday with electrical issues (window would not close, all lights on dash flashing, loud squeaking sounds). I was helped immediately by Chris and the woman at the front desk, who answered my questions and made me feel comfortable. They gave me a fair price and were finished by Monday afternoon! I was also given a courtesy car (which was honestly nicer than mine!) free of charge until my car was fixed. I am so impressed with the quality of the work done here, as well as the customer service. I have been a customer of Pleasant Car Care for over a decade. When I first started using them, I couldnt say enough good things about them. And things continued that way for a long time - until a few years ago.About a year ago, I brought my 11 year old Hyundai Veracruz in for repairs. I asked them to check out a noise Id been hearing, and told them Id be taking a trip to Vermont and wanted to be sure everything was okay.A couple days later, just before I left for my trip, I went to check the oil and discovered the dipstick was broken. No one else had serviced the car anytime recently, so it had to have been broken there. Even with a pair of pliers I couldnt pull it out and put it back in all the way, but I figured Id just had it in for service and of course theyd have checked the oil.Half way back, my engine started losing power. The oil light flickered once but never came on. I pulled off and found the engine was nearly dry. I added 4 quarts and it still didnt register on the partially inserted dipstick. There was no way the oil had been checked. I had run it in the mountains with almost no oil.I got it towed to Pleasant car care, and they were unable to repair or replace the engine for a cost that made sense for a car this old. It would have cost $5000 for a used engine with more miles than the one Id had. Charlie told me that it was common for cars like this to burn through oil - but theyd never told me I needed to be checking oil more frequently, and by the way, that I couldnt check my oil since theyd broken the dipstick. I had to essentially junk the car, and lost the trade in I would have gotten - a few thousand $.Charlie never took responsibility for what happened - not even partially. Never mind that theyd broken the dipstick. Never mind that they couldnt be bothered to check the oil when I brought the car in for service and told them I was going on a long trip. He actually joked about having learned a lesson that they should warn people about checking the oil more for older cars. He also said that dipsticks get broken a lot when theyre working on cars and he supposed it would be good to let customers know. I was flabbergasted at how glib he was when I had a car Id planned to keep another year or two that now was essentially junked.Flash forward, I brought my new car to Pleasant to get snow tires put on - figured that was simple enough and theyre convenient. When I got home, I checked the tire pressure and discovered the pressure was low by quite a bit (8-10 psi as I recall). And a day or two later, I discovered they hadnt properly reset the tire pressure sensors, which required a return visit. (I had reminded them that they needed to be reset with the other tires out of the car, but they had done it wrong anyway).Against my better judgment, when it was time to get the snow tires off, I gave them one more chance. When I got home, I discovered they had put on the wrong lug nuts - using the ones from the snow tires instead of from the regular OEM tires and wheels. And they were not the same, so this could have caused significant problems over time. And on top of all of this, they tried to sell me on detailing my car. No time to do the job right, but they wanted to charge me to wash my car.And to put the final nail in the casket, this last visit happened in the middle of the Covid19 pandemic. When they moved my car in and out of the shop, the mechanic did not wear a mask in my car, did not wear gloves and did not disinfect his hands before driving the car. (I watched, so Im quite sure). They (mostly) wore masks when at the counter with customers, but did not wear them in the shop - not even when inside a customers car.So Im done. I used to trust them completely. Charlie was always very honest. I never felt concerned about his recommendations.I still think theyre honest, but I wont be going back - not even for swapping my tires, not even after the pandemic.Pleasant Car Care just isnt what it used to be.

I brought my car in without an appt and they were able to fix my car which I knew it was going to be a big jobby the next morning as promised. Also they quoted me the correct price so no surprises. Very professional and trustworthy.

Pleasant Car Care recently replaced the front ball joints and related suspension parts on my Honda Accord. Work was excellent, price very fair. Also, got 4 new tires. Matt gave me two good options for tires, allowing me to get the best value for my money. He explained everything patiently and courteously. My steering and suspension now feel awesome.
