I wish I could leave a good review but unfortunately I can’t. As a local business owner I’m all about giving other local businesses my business. I made an appointment to get an inspection sticker for my car at 12:00. They were running behind, I understand that happens. When they finally looked at my car, I was told they could not give me a sticker, my car needed new front brakes. I was told β€œthey are all rusted” and would not pass inspection. My car is a 2017 and in very good condition. Recently I had it there for an oil change. My husband told them to check it out to see what was needed for an inspection sticker. We were told tires, nothing about the brakes at that time. We replaced the tires ( with another company). A few weeks later I bring it back with new tires, to get my sticker. Suddenly, I need new brakes on the front of my car. I decline, call my husband, long story short, we take my car to another reputable garage to be looked at. And course, I do NOT need new brakes at this time. And yes, I have an inspection sticker on my car. I’m not sure if it’s incompetence, or just taking advantage of people? But unfortunately, I will take my business elsewhere. Honestly and integrity are so important in the business world. I will definitely share my unfortunate experience at this establishment with others.

Went to get my exhust fixed they fixed the pipe that was rusted, then when they were done instead of telling me my muffler has a whole in it before they took it off the lift they tell me after. Had i been told the muffler had a hole i would have said to fix it. Dont tell me that the Mufflers bad after youve taken it off the lift you would think youd want tell me so it can be fixed at the same time everything else was being done. So 3 stars and thats maybe one star to much considering rhe money i paid for the small amount of work they did.

I have taken my car there in the past and have generally been satisfied. I took it in today for a recommended rear brake repair. I was told $385 for this. Also need an oil change. Was shocked when the oil change potion was $61.59. Thats crazy. The loaner vehicle I requested when scheduling online was completely disgusting in and out. Gravel on floor, stained upholstery, dust, food and trash. This car was filthiest car I have ever had the privilege to drive. A loaner is an offered service on the site. There should be a minimum acceptable standard when you throw down $525.00! Will look elsewhere for a more professional shop and more affordable value.. Midas Corp should be ashamed that they let franchises reprint them in this way.

These guys - the crew at this Midas - are amazing. While driving back down to the Boston area from a trip in northern Maine, we had some car trouble (one of our skid plates came loose and had begun dragging under our vehicle) in the middle of a massive rain storm. After spending 30 minutes under the car, tugging at the loose skid plate on the side of the road (in the rain) with no luck, we looked at our options in the area and called this Midas shop. Even though they were set to close within the half hour, they took the time to fit us into their schedule and help us out so we could continue on our way home. So grateful.

I recently brought my F350 in to have the ac fixed . Dropped it off at 11 and told them I believe it was the compressor and told them I had already charged the ac and so forth .at 1155 I got a call and she said I ended up needing to replace a pigtail that coroded etc pick it up and 310 later I was leaving there heated the next time I take a vehicle to a garage it wont be there .

Awful experience, refused service, poor management, and combative customer service. I had heard this place was considered a ripoff with far more scams than accomplishments, but personally had an semi-adequate experience at this Midas a year before and decided to disregard considering my car issue was simple. Admittedly, however they had done repairs without my consent at that time.In this newer instance, I scheduled an appointment at 12pm, arrived 10 minutes early, and signed the paperwork. I was not at any time told that there might a long wait for my car to be looked at regardless of appointment (which if told wouldve been 100% understandable and I wouldve gladly waited as long as needed).I understand when things go off schedule, and a twenty minute or so wait needs no explanation, however I was waiting for AN HOUR when I realized my car had not even been looked at yet. More so, at no time did anyone give me any update or indication of this which is customary. I civilly expressed my displeasure and confusion as to why I had waited an hour when I had scheduled an appointment hours beforehand and was met with hostility and lack of graceful or sympathetic customer service. A man named Larry rudely did the following:1. Attempted to gaslight me by saying I had only waited twenty minutes (completely untrue).2. Explained how busy they were (100% understandable) however went on to act as though I shouldve expected this (Im unsure how I wouldve without a prior explanation).3. No apology for the wait.4. Unbelievably and hilariously he TWICE told me that I was screaming at him when I at no point raised my voice even slightly. I was calm and even toned the entire time- albeit I was increasingly displeased by the end due to Larrys contentious behavior.5. Because I was not happy enough for him he then told me he would not allow my car to be checked out at all and I was sent away. I Waited an hour for nothing at all.

Originally I went to a private mechanic, who told me my entire y-pipe system had to be replaced for an obscene amount of money. I called Midas for a quote for getting it replaced. They offered a free assessment, and found that only the flex pipe needed replacing, saving me $100. They worked with me and my finances to provide me with affordable, high quality service. I will definitely be sticking with Midas for my car troubles.

For over 15 years this Midas shop has been my go to for oil changes, front end, brakes, exhausts, new tires, rotations, engine and drive train work to name a few of the services I have had done there. They have worked on all makes and models over the years including my Dodge Rams, Toyotas, Saturn, Chrysler, Ford F250, Fiat, and even my classic 1940 Buick.Friendly knowledgeable staff, clean waiting area, courtesy ride if needed, communication top notch, and the work done on time and correct.I will continue to be a customer of Midas, Larry and the crew.

My parents had 4 new tires installed and had to return to get an alignment because Midas was unable to do it that day. Less than 60 days after and the alignment had to be done again. My parents are seniors and this was a major expense for them. I was surprised there wasnt some standard of warranty on their work. I expected more from the Midas name.

By my clock I called and asked if they had time to do an oil change at 10:20 and they said they did if I right away. I got there in ten minutes and by the time my key was back in the ignition to leave it took them between 40 and 50 minutes to change the oil in my Jeep. I also tried to get quotes on tires which they started to do but never really followed through with when they had to call and check on something being available. I never heard back from him whether they could get the tire.I dont know what I was thinking. I should have just gone to prompto.UPDATE: I just brought my Jeep to Prompto and they said that whoever serviced it last damaged the oil drain plug and they refused to service it for fear of damaging the oil pan. I now have to bring it back to Midas to have them service it and perform the oil change. I am beyond frustrated.

Awful experience, they will say anything to get the car in and will rip you off.I took the car for my exhaust muffler replacement. They said they will replace the muffler and they replaced with a aftermarket low quality product with a higher amount.And just to clean and put clips on the pipes of transmission lines they charged me more than the hour labor cost.Would not recommend this to anyone.

To give you inspection, they will tell you there are stuffs wrong with your car and you dont really know if they changed the parts or not. I had to do about 1200 bucks of repair to get inspection! Eventually had to do it here because VIP, other big scammers were telling there was even more stuffs they needed to replace to give us inspection. Now judge by yourself, 2 different car mechanics telling you different parts of your car need to be replaced to get inspection. Wont you feel they are lying? As if you went 2 different hospitals, one doctor tells you your arm is broken will cost 1000 bucks and another hospital tells you your leg is broken and will cost 2000 bucks. Youd expect both doctors to tell you the same thing is broken if they really know what they are doing! BIG SCAMMERS all of them!

Customer service is what changed my mind. I brought my car in and explained what I wanted, when I left I felt that the work was not complete and voiced my opinion through the contact us page on the Midas website. I was promptly contacted the next day and they took car of me, I dropped my car off and in a few hours it was fixed and my issue had been resolved. I believe there might have been a misunderstanding and some mis communication during my initial drop off. The fact that they were so prompt and genuine when it came to my complaint tells me this is a company who values their customers. Thanks again Midas my car sounds awesome!

I was 150 miles away from home on a business trip, still an hour & 20 minutes from my destination when it happened. My car jerked & I managed to get off I95 safely, deciding it was my brakes & search for somewhere to go. I found a Midas only 3 miles away, so I carefully made my way there. They were VERY busy & someone was also out. Kevin greeted me and after I told him my situation he said they would take a look. Fast forward . . . Not only did they fit me in, they had me back on the road in an hour and a half after replacing routers & brakes. Amazing service and quality people. Have taken my car here several times and had work done, and much more work needed to be done so they could have made plenty of money from my business. I would have been glad to continue to be a regular customer even though the manager is like a used car salesman, because i try not to jump to conclusions. So i took the car in and they told me they found the issue, a 3 cylinder coil, and that the car was fixed and all set. I told them to make sure they take their time and find any other problems, because i really need the car for Wednesday. They said everything is good now, and I paid my $300 and drove away. Except the car was still smoking, the lady at the next light nicely pointed that out to me. So i turned right around and drove it back to Midas exactly 5 minutes after i had drove my fixed up car off their lot. Next day i call to check on it and was told that they are too busy to look at it right now and they will get to it at some point. When i told them it should be a priority given the circumstances, i was told that they didnt realize i was going to try to drive it such a long distance. WHAT?? First off all i tried to do was drive it a mile down the road. Second, you told me you had fixed the issue and charged me $300!! . Third is WHAT?? Your too busy to finish what you started and told me was already done, and now its MY FAULT? What a joke. I was even willing to listen to the manager trying to explain his behavior to me, but then he said i was being silly to expect anything different. So i guess for our friends here at Midas it is silly to expect that when your told they have fixed your car, that indeed it is fixed. Its also SILLY to expect that they would make it a priority to find out what they missed the first time, and make things right. These guys even put WATER in my radiator tank, instead of just putting radiator fluid. I would have gladly paid for radiator fluid since i was already in $300 bucks, but instead they put in water and told me id have to take it back sometime immediately, to get the water flushed out and put radiator fluid in. Then i took it to another garage and it turns out there are several other issues, and the car is likely totaled. So it sounds like Midas just wanted to make some money off of me real quick. Save yourself a lot of time, hassle, and money and take your car somewhere else.

If I could give this shop zero stars I would. I went to Midas for a few years because they offered a financing option I needed and couldnt find at other shops. Almost every single time Ive brought a vehicle to them it would be returned with some type of unrelated problem suddenly arising within a day or two, or wouldnt be entirely fixed, or worse. They took my perfectly good Ford Focus in for some routine maintenance and returned it with an awful noise. When I promptly brought it back they explained that theyd decided to pressure wash the engine without asking me during the last service and because the car was like 9 years old the pressure had broken some loose parts. They then required me to pay to repair it even though I never asked them to wash the engine to begin with. And just recently I brought my Subaru in with a blown head gasket. The car had 160k miles on it and so I was very involved in the repair process speaking to them every step of the way to be sure that because they were quoting me $2,400 to fix it I was making a wise investment. First of all, they strongly encouraged me to do the repair, assuring me that the car was in such good condition it would last at least another 100k miles if I did the repair (this was quickly rebuked by my other mechanic who looked at it after the fact and said Id be lucky to get 30k-40k miles tops). Then when they asked me about having the head surfaces refinished to be sure there were no warps, I adamantly asked them to not only do this but to look into every other thing in the engine at that point that could be an issue in relation to this kind of thing while the engine was apart. They assured me they did and no other maintenance was needed beyond what they were already doing. Fast forward a month and a half after getting the car back and me sitting on the side of the highway with a seized engine. I called my other mechanic to see if I could bring it to them and they told me to go back to Midas because it was likely a warranty repair. And then they told me to ask Midas if theyd checked and replaced my valve seals. Well, wouldnt you know that not only did Midas not do this even though I was adamant the whole time about them being sure to check all possible related issues, they also unsurprisingly said it was not covered by warranty. So...not even 60 days after shelling out $2,400 to them, my car is totaled. Midas told me at the least it would cost $2,000 to replace the engine. These examples are only two out of a fair number I could list in terms of them in one way or another behaving in a shady way, doing really shoddy work they wont take responsibility for, or suggesting repairs that my other mechanic saw as completely unnecessary. I will NEVER trust them again.***Update*** The owner of this shop called me today, and spent the majority of the time interrupting me while I talked, insisting that I paid $300 less for the repairs than I actually paid, and then after insisting the error was all mine, he miraculously decided out of the goodness of his heart to offer a maintenance repair worth $300-400 free of charge on my new car if I agreed to take this review down. Methinks not. This shop is not laying a finger on my new car. Never gonna happen. Not now, not ever. This guy didnt even respond when I brought up the other questionable stuff like their breaking my engine with an unrequested pressure wash and expecting me to pay to fix it, or their trying to insist that I needed new shocks on my van because I was supposedly riding on original shocks--a claim my other mechanic laughed at considering my van is a Toyota with over 250,000 miles on it! If I was still riding on original shocks the thing would be bottoming out every time I came near a speed bump! Not only were they not original, they werent even in need of replacement! Oy. This shop does NOT back up their work, and they encourage people to spend money on things they dont even need. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!

Inspected my car and said the only thing wrong with it was brake rotors. Had them replaced by another mechanic who said they were fine but replaced them anyway. Next day, Midas failed the same car for a back tire that clearly should have passed, and had the day before. Bought two new tires at walmart, went back. They failed it AGAIN for a loose wheel bearing that had passed each of the two previous inspections. This was all in the course of two days. What a joke! Obviously they are failing vehicles to get people to buy parts and repairs from them. Rip off!

After taking my car there for thousands of dollars of work over 4 visits, i have now also found out that someone took a bolt out of my oil pan. Midas is the only ones to have touched this car. My mechanic said that someone would have had to have purposefully done that or to be so negligent that it was not put back in properly. Regardless i was never informed about them working on my oil tank, or that the small oil leak i had was now way worse (probably due to them removing the bolt from the pan). The actual TRUE issue here has been a bad head gasket all along apparently and during this latest incident the engine got hot enough to cause a leak in the radiator. The coil 3 misfired during all of this and maybe it needed to be replaced, but you dont give someone a car in that condition and say that its fixed, especially with a bolt missing from the oil pan!! Thats not good business. Had they not been dishonest and looking to extort people for their bottom line, i would still have a car right now. I trusted them to do the right thing and now i have a Honda Civic with thousands of dollars dumped into it, that is essentially totaled at 145K. I will accept SOME of the blame for this, but only because i didnt go with my gut instinct and take this car to another shop way sooner.

No matter what the problem is its fixed and at a reasonable cost knowing how expensive car repairs can be. We are more that happy with the people who work at the waterville midas. Thanks midas

This place is a joke, my boyfriend swears by them and always takes his car there, even though Ive told him they rip him off. So heres the newest rip off story, he took the car there yesterday because the front end was making some squealing noises(sounds like a belt) Midas says its just noise that old cars make but apparently the brake line was bad. They proceeded to fix the brake line said everything else was fine. $500 is what they charged to fix the rear brakes, thats not even the worst part! We go to pick the car up later and the car sounds louder than it did when we dropped it off, Larry then said to bring the car back tomorrow(which is today) at 8:30 and he would look at it. Well by the time we got back in Augusta the car had seized up completely so there was no way to bring it to Waterville again. Im so frustrated at this point in time because now we are out $500 and have no running vehicle. We would have never payed for something like that to be fixed when the engine was about to go. I am also writing to corporate about this but felt others should not have to go through what we did
