I was specifically looking for farm-stand tasting tomatoes. The employees were very helpful with that. They knew the farmer ... hes out near Madison. He delivers Tue and Thur ... so that was yesterday, and the tomatoes were the perfect ripeness, so I feel confident they werent picked green and ripened off the vine. The proof is in the flavor, of course, and I wont know that until I use them tomorrow ... but Im certainly hopeful.Update: DELICIOUS!

This is my most favorite grocery stores of all time !!! From the cashiers to the deli to the butchers and meat department to the vitamins and supplements to the produce. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this grocery store. I think a Bulleted list with a suit this response best!1. The variety is small. They stay seasonal and local as best they can and are very selective in their vendors. For a short time they had no pork and I spoke to the butcher call informed me that the store had found out that their pork supplier was not withholding the standards that they needed to to be selling it at their store and I didn’t ask anything further that was enough for me. If you don’t have pork because of an ethical reason to both the animal and your shoppers, you get an A+ for life and thank you so very much!!!2. The butchers are probably my favorite they’re all really friendly in their own ways and just really helpful guys.3. Everybody in produce is extremely helpful and friendly!!!4. They have pretty decent sales that circulate but if you’re in adverted shopper you will need to shop sales if you have a tight budget.5. Everyone is very willing to help I’ve only had a few encounters with negative minded unwilling employees but for the past 10 years but I’ve been going there very pleased with the customer service.6. If you don’t like something that you’ve purchased or if you get something home that turns out to be rotten or the expiration date is old or whatever the situation is they don’t even ask any questions they give you an the in-store credit. This is huge. If you have ever tried to bring something back to a large corporate grocery store, they act like you escaped a jail and are trying to rob them.It’s late I can’t think of anything else but this store is hands-down one of my absolute favorites!!!!!!!

I stopped in today around 3pm to get some eggplant for my mom but there was only one left. I asked an employee (Maurice) if he happened to know when they normally are replenished. I did not ask him to go look for me but he volunteered to go in the back to look and came back with a whole box and said I could have my pick!!! He stopped his work to help me out. I appreciate his kindness and outstanding customer service so much. And now my 94 year old mom was able to make her organic eggplant parmesan as planned. Thank you!

Its a cooperative, which is great. It stocks one of the most extensive selection of local products in the county. I really like it and will join it. The prices are high, but you know where the money is going.

I visit here to purchase only eggs and milk. They sells the highest grade organic eggs, and also the price in Organic Valleys milk is the cheapest this area. Organic grass fed ground beef and organic chicken also has great price sometimes. But other products are too expensive so that youd better to try Wholefoods or Woodmans.

I love the zen muffins. Today was blueberry. I love stopping in for their bakery or deli items.

Very fun options, many vegan and health food options. Pricey. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because whenever I check out here they aren’t very friendly. They should make it more of a priority for their customers to feel welcome and comfortable.

Lots of cool and well-made products but some of them were quite pricey. Nice selection of healthy foods, especially grains and herbs. I got some cinnamon sticks for a great price and am super excited to start using them. I will definitely be going here more often!

Lets talk sandwiches: sandwiches have fallen out of favor because of carbs in bread, however, outpost wauwatosa has some really good sandwiches worth the carbs. the egg salad is interesting and yummy made with crumbly bread (probably should use knife and fork) . i was pleasantly surprised at the flavors. yesterday, i bought a tear and share veggy sandwich. wow, what an experience. even with fresh raw spinach, not close to my favorite green, it was delicious. my picky eater granddaughter finished it.

I am not too keen on wearing a mask but I understand at something some places require you to do I love their selection of natural foods and I love the attitude of the employees but the produce often molds quickly

My daughter has a milk allergy. I was looking for a high quality plant based substitute for a holiday dessert. The staff went the extra mile even printing a recipe to help me find the perfect milk substitute.

Havent been there since the store was remodeled. A little confusing at first, I had to rediscover where everything was and the airport aisles could be labeled better. My one complaint is for some reason the majority of frozen meals (pasta, burritos, burgers) are either gluten or meat free. It would be nice to have some pastas and burritos with meat.

Always pleased with their top of the list products. Cant go wrong.

My absolute favorite grocery store in Wisconsin. Lots of local and organic products and it always smells wonderful! Great bulk foods and coffee, and the hot bar seems to run all day and always have wonderful food! I feel energized and happy when I eat here!

Local food coop - organic and natural foods with a smoothie/coffee bar, hot bar and salad bar, deli case, bulk section, great produce and butcher departments, along with a good alternative grocery selection. Ive been a member for nearly 20 years and highly recommend them. Great service and a cafe area to enjoy some of the food they sell.

My favorite local and organic grocery store in Milwaukee. It has a home town feel with knowledgable, friendly staff. Ive gotten to know a few people that work there just by striking up conversations while in the checkout line.Groceries are easy to find due to the logical layout and smaller store size (plus the friendly staff) - I can get in and out fairly fast through their quick + friendly checkout lanes. Ive never felt rushed or delayed.Prices are very reasonable for the quality.The outside landscaping is a mix of prairie plants and herbs - its very inviting. I sometimes enjoy sitting outside in their patio furniture in the summer watching people, listening to the birds and smelling the flowers/herbs as I sip on a smoothie or kombucha.

Outpost is a local and organic grocery store with a huge variety of healthy foods for everyone. There are tons of vegan and gluten free options for people with those dietary restrictions, and the staff is always kind and helpful when you need to find a specific product that fits your needs. The cafe has tons of delicious food and drinks, including smoothies and coffee, and the rest of the store has fresh produce, packaged goods, and a nice bulk section.

Great place to shop. I trust Outpost 100% to carry only foods that are good for me and my family. Their deli has amazing sandwiches, sushi and pizza, and the salad/dinner bar always has something yummy. I particularly appreciate the individual servings of lots of great salads--tuna pasta salad, broccoli cranberry salad, the amazing mango curry chicken and more--that make excellent lunches to bring to work. They have tons of gluten-free options, flowers, wine and beer, vitamins and supplements and even locally-made gifts.

I had a coupon from a food pantry for a free gallon of milk at any Outpost. I happened to be in Tosa so stopped at this store. It was clean, the selection is great, and the staff friendly.My only issue, and why I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars, is that when I brought the milk to the cashier, the register wouldnt accept the coupon. The brand was listed as ok so the cashier (Terry) asked a manager for help. She said that the coupon was good only for regular milk, not organic! Much to her credit, Terry then went with me to the dairy section to help me pick out an acceptable gallon. I really appreciated it. She deserves 5 stars.While Outposts charity is laudable, apparently they dont want us poor folks to be TOO healthy 😁

Been shopping there for years and have never been disappointed. Always fresh and a great assortment of organic produce, meat, dairy, frozen foods etc also a mini food cafe. Friendly and helpful employees. Highly recommend!

Pricey and unique variety. Some fresh fruits and vegetables are past their prime. Buyer beware.Store is very clean and well organized. Employees are friendly and helpful.

We love Outpost for its quality produce, bulk foods, and deli. Produce can be a little hit and miss for whats in stock, but generally its all quality. The bulk section has amazing selection of grains, legumes, and even snacks. Their deli is terrific for quick and healthy meals or snacks as well as juices. And when they have member sales, they are awesome at great diacounts.

I usually enjoy shopping at Outpost, but they are allowing an employee to return to work without a 14 day isolation after being out of state for over a week. This is extremely concerning and a bit selfish and hypocritical. They just put a caution to their customers via channel 12 to practice social distancing to prevent the transmission of the virus, but they cannot do so on their end by not allowing this employee to return without any screening or caution. This definitely gives me a different view of how Outpost cares for their employees and customers to put them in a compromising situation.

Some of the most stuck up and unhelpful people work at this location. I’m a regular at the outpost in Mequon. Must be the Wauwatosa water or something because I can pay the astronomical prices but what I can’t handle are rude individuals who think they’re better than you because they work at an organic grocery.

Love this place for quality, fresh food options. They have a fantastic selection of local and clean food options. They also have awesome deals for coop members.It would be nice if the staff was a little more friendly. Shopping there is a different experience and it wouldnt surprise me if a number of interested, first timers get overwhelmed and quit. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable, but could do a better job of approaching and offering help to customers.

There are some things here that you can’t find elsewhere, but I bought two veggies and spent $12 with tax. Many items are at least $6, and it adds up fast.

Extremely mixed feelings for Outpost. They are a good resource for the community. Has a spot where you can even charge your electric car. Prices are typically outrageous, despite being a co-op. Very heavy on single-use plastic, which seems hypocritical. Perks of being a member are minimal compared to other co-ops (not frequently discounted). Produce may sometimes be local or regional, but I can never afford their prices. They sell some produce from local farmers markets, so I would prefer to go those instead. Cafe workers are hit or miss; many are very pleasant (Wauwatosa seems to get a more pristine clientele which is part of the problem to start with), while some seem afraid to ask for help from coworkers if new; one lady thought an iced latte (while not a coffee shop, it is an item to purchase!) meant to steam the coffee and then put ice in it. Another time, I ordered the Joeys Tofu sandwich (best one there!) and didnt notify me that they were out of a main ingredient (caramelized onions) until handing me my sandwich. I wouldnt have followed through with buying it. Some soups in the hot bar very much taste like cardboard. It is not a very efficient place to shop, from the set-up to the check-outs. I typically see what they sell and go elsewhere to purchase those products for cheaper. Really wish theyd figure out a better system for selling their deli products--way too much plastic.

I love this co-op. The staff is super, the prepared eats are delicious and I can find all my organic products here. Its small but dont underestimate the Outpost... they have what youre looking for and if they dont, theyll find it for you.

I stopped, as I often do when Im in the area, to pick up a quick, tasty, healthy meal. I have a specialized diet, so Im not able to get a meal just anywhere. Outpost had a nice selection of prepared sides and simple dishes to choose from.

Found nearly all that I wanted, gained assistance easily, checked out in friendly and accurate manner, and received quality products. Also, received valued information from the gentleman in vitamins, supplements, etc. Had the most efficient and friendly service from my cashier, Barb, who said thank you, like she really meant it.

A very nice store. Clean bathrooms. Great deli, a half sandwich, bag of chips and a cupcake was about $8 which makes it a winner for a quick lunch

The Outpost always has a ton of organic produce to choose from. They have a really nice selection of dry bins to scoop and the staff is always pleasant. Also, they compost the paper towels we use in their bathrooms. Thank you for being awesome!

Outpost is a small local chain co-op grocery store in the Greater Milwaukee Area that sources organic, local/regional, fair trade, GMO-free food items. You do not need to be a member of the co-op to shop here.The Wauwatosa Store is one of the smaller stores with a deli and bakery right upfront at the entrance followed by produce, going left you run into dairy, meats, frozen, and fresh nuts on the outside track. Youll find many a healthier options at this Outpost, however the real estate is limited and so are the offerings, not to mention that the frozen section is almost non-existent. Limited selection aside, the store is great offering numerous healthier options not found in typical chain grocery stores, and the staff (some more than others) are quite knowledgeable.

Outpost is a great little grocery store. All staff is really helpful and if they dont carry a product that youd like to see there, let them know. My favorite part is the bulk dry goods and spices.

Simply the best store for the discriminating foodie. There are bigger stores, there are cheaper stores. But if youre looking for truly organic, natural, and/or local food, Outpost will be your main store. Bakery, prepared hot & cold foods, beer & wine, bulk foods, produce, meat, and non-perishables. Also herbs, homeopathics, and supplements. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Pizza, salad bar, sandwiches, soup and the best curry chicken salad. Theres also a small sitting area. All this and organic produce, meats, grains, teas and parking at the door. Fun place to grab lunch and pick up something for dinner.

Do not get the vegan yellow cake. First off, its a weird Sandy brown color. Second, we got it for my nephews 4thbirthday; and, it tasted like a nutty carrot cake without carrots (not sweet at all). Needless to say excitement for cake quickly evaporated.

We love eating here. Tonight the tables were all a little dirty as well as the restroom, but we are still fans because we love the food, smoothies and especially all the desserts.
