Made a 2 pm appointment online. Needed a battery clamp replaced. Its a $5 clamp that attaches to the battery post. Arrived on time - checked in they said $12 we will get on it.... agreed. 45 minutes later no one has touched my car - or said a word to me - but they did assign 2 techs to mount tires on a walk in....when I saw them working on the tire and rim of the walk in customer I asked .... So between the drive over and the drive back they happily returned my keys without explanation or questions and I lost 1 and a half hours of my day and still need the clamp replacedIt may be more than the retail area closing soon -
I received Impeccable service at this PepBoys, Andrew the manager was professional, he went above and beyond to help me, he thoroughly explained all aspects of the service in great detail. The technician and crew were also curious and professional.This location gets a 10 out of 10, I recommend this location for servicing your vehicle.I will definitely bring my car back for future service.
I like working with this particular Pep Boys in Westchester they seem to have great people who know exactly what theyre doing and they dont pull my leg all the time.

We went for inspection and made an appointment day before. When we dropped off the car, we asked them how long it will take, they said an hour n a half. So we waited. Entire-time no one once touched our car. Im pregnant and patiently waited for the first hour but when I realized they were not even close to taking care of our car and just working on some of the cars that came after us, and chatting along, and stopping to talk to some friend came over, I started to lose it. Around 1220 still nothing. There was another gentleman who was having the same issue as us. After an hour n a half my husband went in to ask them how long. They said another 30-45 minutes. And they noticed I was getting upset outside. Suddenly 3 people were working on the car. After another 40 minutes, they told my husband, he didnt pass the inspection except for Emissions because everything else needs to be replaced: tires, brakes, and some other things and total to fix everything came down to 1146 and they asked my husband if we want to leave the car there so they can fix all that stuff. But My husband decided not to leave the car since I was pregnant and had been waiting out in the sun for 2 hours and I needed to go home. Plus he wanted to get all that fixed from Nissan( we bought the car from Nissan in NJ ) since we trust the quality of the product and we were ready to pay a little extra if needed to be. A couple of days later we went to the Nissan store in PA near us with the paperwork pep boys gave us and get all that fixed. A gentleman at Nissan said they have to do their inspection first( we didnt know they do inspections also otherwise we would have gone there the first time) and they will fix whatever is needed. They told us to leave the car there and pick it up tomorrow, we did. They provided us with a shuttle that dropped us home and picked my husband up the next day to pick our car. BUT the biggest shock was that we pass the inspection and there was nothing wrong with all the stuff pep boys mentioned we needed to fix. We just paid 29 for state inspection, thats it. I mean pep boys wanted to charge us 1146 for nothing for their horrible and laying ass. They are frauds and provide horrible service. Please be aware and get a second opinion if you ever need anything fixed. Just horrible.
Dead battery on a Saturday night and they were super helpful and had me in and out in :30 min.
You can make an online appointment but when you show up Pep Boys will tell you they don’t honor online appointments. Then when you complain-mechanics will laugh in your face and make fun of you.

My first experience here was terrible - I scheduled an appointment for 30 minutes of labor. I brought my car there for the service and they said I would have to leave my car overnight. Whats the point of even scheduling an appointment at that point?I decided to give them a second chance (big mistake). I needed something installed on my car, talked to them in person about it, and they printed out an overview of cost for parts & labor and said it would take a couple days for the part to be delivered to them. Perfect. I called back 4 days later and asked if the part was delivered, they said nope. tomorrow. and that was it. Called back the next day, and they seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. Explained to them I spoke with someone in the service department and they told me it would take a few days for the part to arrive so I was just checking on the status. They said they had some miscommunication on their part and they were under the impression that I already had the part but just needed them to install it? But on the Work Order it clearly states that they needed to have the part delivered to them - it was part of the cost. They hung up on me when I explained my concerns.They are extremely disorganized and rude. No one was wearing a mask when I entered and didnt even acknowledge my existence after standing there for 30 seconds (there were two workers and 0 customers). Definitely taking my business elsewhere from here on out.

I had an appointment to get new tires and they told me I didn’t have an appointment even though I showed them my confirmation email. They also told me that the size I need “isn’t a real tire”. I ended up going to Firestone and had a much better experience.
I love Pepboys West Goshen! Went in today to buy windshield wipers after talking myself into doing the swap out myself. I bought the appropriate sizes and the cashier, Sam, mentioned that service could swap them out for me as a free service and they would be happy to do it. Whole thing took less than 5 minutes and I’m so happy he mentioned they would be willing to do the swap. My absolute go to for all my vehicle repair!

They probably have an adapter to charge DC to AC so you can have coffee while camping. Maybe your S.O. can curl her hair there! Go yo Westchester and ask. Good gloves too!
Ryan in service and Sam at the checkout were especially helpful to me when I needed to borrow a fuse puller to pull a fuse to see why my 12 volt charger wouldnt work...Although this confirmed the fuse was broken, the 15 amp Mini low profile fuse was out of stock, so I had to buy it across the street... oh thats the good news... the new fuse blew within 5 minutes of use only with a cell phone... so Im back to where I started from an hour ago but at least I know a couple ways is very helpful and can recommend them.BTW - Any further ideas? The new four-slot car charger port had no problems until this developed this week.

The oil change took an hour and a half, the man behind the counter was rude, and they didnt even check my tire pressure! That service is supposed to be included in the $90 oil change that I purchased. I left with my tire pressure light still on. Not sure if theyre backed up because of the holiday but they could use some customer experience training.

It’s a shame this shop gets a bad rap. I’ve gone here quite a few times without an appointment and always get awesome friendly service with unbeatable prices. Sure, things can go wrong with machines but they’ve always made things right and exceeded expectations.
DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION. These people installed a TPS system in my car that didn’t work, then refused to fix it when I came back. Tried to charge me $150 to install it again when they didn’t install it right in the first place. They were also fairly rude to me durring the entire process as well. Never coming back to this place

This place is terrible! I went in to get my brakes fixed and clear the lights on my dashboard. I made an appointment but I called ahead to see if I could come in early, they told me yes.When I dropped my car off off I asked for a quote for everything and was given a certain price that sounded reasonable. After having my car for 5 hours it was close to closing and i still didn’t hear anything. I WALK back to the shop because they had my only car (I walked home after initially dropping my car off as well), come to find out that they didn’t even get to my car because the technician was stuck on one car all day. A simple phone call would have solved all this. But when I called and didn’t get an answer, I showed up and it was too late for me to take it to another shop. So after 24 hours with my car they finish but only the brakes so the lights on my dashboard are still on.
I called to question how much to replace cracked tire valve stem and was told on phone about 10 dollars....12...without looking it up about that. I bring the tire in and was told $22.49. I feel the customer was given poor information with cost more than double. Same person that answered the phone was the same that priced it when I arrived. I understand that it wasnt $10.00..but more than double the baseline quesstimate is unacceptable business.Update: I pick up the tire and bring it home to discover that the broken value stem is bouncing around inside the tire. If it wasnt a spare trailer tire I would have had to take it back for them to remove it from bouncing around making noise inside the tire. So now I paid to have a tire with a broken piece of valve stem bouncing around inside.

I went to this location several times for brake issues. The first time I went I spent close to $1000 on brakes. I returned again after because they were apparently not fixed. I was charged another $500. After a few months my brakes were unable to stop me and I felt terrified and unsafe. I brought the car back in and they charged me another $1000 saying they only did the rear brakes. Fine. So they charged me another $900 to fix them again. Youd think after all that time and money (within one year) I wouldnt have troubles with my brakes anymore. Not so, because a few months later I hear my brakes making a cracking noise once again, as Im in the middle of paying off the last job on my pep boys credit card. I will never go here again because they dont seem to be able to get the job done and then become rude with me when I question them. I sincerely do not recommend them because they appear to be tricking you out of money. I will not be referring any of my friends and I hope the thousands of dollars they will be losing from my friends and family might impact them to do a better job.
So cool. I was on my lunch break and I needed some oil and transmission fluid. Big dude greets me, shows me the fluid and oil options then rings me right up. Put the fluids in my car, got back to work thinking I wish that dude worked everywhere I buy anything. Thanks big dude, I appreciate your courtesy and professionalism.

It was a very good visit. I had some questions about a part that I had bought a few months ago. the parts manager came out to help me and he was very friendly and helpful. He brought up some helpful ideas that really help me out. He was also very happy to be able to help me and feel good about doing his job. You do not always get this feeling from visiting at Pep Boys, but in this case I really did so kudos to them.
I have been here twice and have found my new go to car place. The first time I purchased adhesive to reattach my rear view mirror and one of the guys stopped what he was doing helped me reattach it for no charge.Today they saved me $1500 after another shop tried to charge me for something they said I needed for inspection when I didn’t. Rubin got me in on a busy Saturday and my car was ready that day.Thank you SO much! I would recommend this store to anyone!

Went here twice, once to get my oil changed and another to get my state inspection. Both times the employees were friendly and accommodating. When I got my oil changed they ran into some trouble and took me under the car to show me exactly what they were looking at. Then they let me come in after hours to pick up my car which I really appreciated. When I came for the state inspection, they were completely packed but within 2 hours my car was ready for pickup. Fast and efficient! I would definitely recommend this place!
They do not communicate. They treat men and women differently. I asked for Cora and she never dialogued with me, and just interacted with the workers. They had our vehicle for 3 days, did not do what they were supposed to do, and overcharged us. Then when I came back today to get it all worked out, per what we had discussed on the phone, nobody knew what was going on. I kept being asked questions that should definitely have already been noted in the account. We will find another shop for future work.
How many people know who these guys are? I grown up going to Pep Boys all my life. They have what you need. We did have a incident years ago that resulted in a new transmission shortly after an oil change at a local Pep Boys. But I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. I remember my the tow truck driver relating a correlation between Pep Boys and tow truck pick ups.Nevertheless they have been good to me. It has to be tough being in this kind of business with Amazon, Walmart and AutoZone breathing down your back.

Dropped my car off at 8am to get 4 tires/Called at 1 and they said it was just going in/Finally at 4pm it was done/They forgot to put my caps on for tires where the air goes so i had to drive back then my hubcap fell off going there /So they must have broken it and never said a word I will never take my car here again Spent $500 for bad service and over 8hrs to put on 4 tires
These guys are great!! New Management has taken this place by storm in a great way. Already looks brighter, cleaner, and more friendly. The staff is extremely helpful now. My grandfather shops here more than me but even he has noticed a huge shift in the appearance and experience. Mike the general manager is awesome!! Ill definitely be back.
AVOID!I made an online appointment for a simple tire repair (screw in the center tread tire). When I showed up early for my appointment service advisor told me he was going to call me to tell me it was going to be several hours and I should reschedule.Why bother making the online appointment?I left and won’t be back.Other places don’t treat customers this way.
First off- just want to convey that I am confused as to why there are a number of negative reviews. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable.The mechanics and associates work together to make sure people are treating their vehicles like they treat their bodies- preventative maintenance will help save money in the long term and keep your mind at ease.These guys definitely helped calm my nerves with my vehicle and will be bringing it here to keep me running for a long time. Had my daughters car in today for brakes and tires. When she went to pay, it was more than quoted. But they backed up quote by giving rebates that bring back to quoted price and two free oil changes for his error. Ruben in service was very pleasant and professional. I think they are priced a little higher than my regular mechanic but they were able to service the car immediately so it was very convenient.
Sam smiled and helped me find a few things. He also made sure I got checked out fast. He was clearly the best and most experienced on the floor. He made me want to give more business to Pep boys. Thank you!

Worst pep boys service center in the area. Absolutely no communication among crews and poor customer service. Scheduled for state inspection, then on arrival I was told that they are not available and requested to reschedule for next day. I went next day at scheduled time and told it will take 1 or 1.5 hrs. I informed that Ill wait. After 2.5 hrs of waiting, I called and told that they havent started the inspection. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.3/31 update: I have sent all details to pepsocial email address.
I took my car in for an alignment. I was lucky that they could take it right away, and I waited for the car. My wife had hit something last Winter, and I had the car aligned twice at NTB over the Summer, who never got it right. These guys got it done right. They were very nice, polite, professional and did a great job. I would recommend this shop for service and parts.
Terrible experience! I brought a vehicle for inspection and the car was returned without being properly put back together. A simple inspection before closing the hood could have avoided this. Then there is the price gouging. Upon checking the repair invoice and part numbers I find I was charged over twice the amount for the parts - compared to what Pep Boys sells them for in the same store!
I would give 1 star if I hadnt met an angel of a human being by the name of Ruben and the young gentleman service tech (Mike?)Everyone else, most notably shop manager Lawrence, are.....lacking in human decency and a bit wretched.Desk gal Carly, Conny? needs an attitude adjustment.Check the work before you pay for it. Service was not done correctly, I was made to believe the oil dripping out of oil basin was water (lol thanks for the laughs Carly/Connie!!!). THIS JUST IN: water is now yellow, and very oil like in viscosity.Poor service and theyll lie to you. Go elsewhere. I could do a better job myself.

Got all the basics you need and then some! They have a body shop where you can get your tires oil and headlights changed. $20 for this cool smiley knob for the steering wheel I want so badly! Cool accessories and things your car needs and you want! Nice waiting area for when your car is getting worked on. Has coffee.
All Pep Boys Centers are not the same. The one in Exton is a disgrace, but this place is a positive example. Every time Ive been there I have had a positive experience. Quick in and out, courteous, and great prices. Always helpful! What more could you want? Well maybe the waiting area could be nicer, but that doesnt warrant losing a star! Ive never written a review, but this place is so good I felt compelled to give them a pat on the back!
I had a slow leak in my tire that started this week. I went to bring it to them and they explained my inner part of the front tires were bald. It was at another shop getting an oil change last month. I was unaware of it. It took awhile given I needed four new tires (because all wheel drive car!). They gave me lunch while I was waiting and were very nice to me. Recognized that my father in law from VA was going to be greatly inconvenienced if alternator couldnt be replaced that day and prioritized jobs. Thats just courteous and smart business practice. Thank you to whoever was willing to wait until the morning for a repair- it really helped us out!
This is my go to auto parts place. They have most everything I need and at fair prices. They also recycle my used oil with a smile instead of giving me a hard time like other places. I recently brought a 3 year old battery in for testing and it was bad. Even though I was a bit beyond the 3 year warranty they replaced it for me free of charge. The staff are very knowledgable and always willing to help. Ill keep coming back.
I placed am appointment Sunday afternoon for a Tuesday oil change at 6 PM. I come to drop off my car and the guy says it will be two hours. I asked why is it that long and he said there is only one tech in, understandable, but then what is the point of making an appointment if you cant provide service at the time of. I asked him this and the gentleman barely seemed like he cared and shrugged it off. Extremely poor customer service from him. If you make an appointment youre considered a priority. Manage your tasks accordingly and you wont be backed up. Make sure youre properly staffed, if not notify the people coming in that an extended wait time occurred and you can reschedule. Dont act like you could care less for the customer. I asked another gentleman in the waiting area and it was over 2 hours to get a tire patched....I think that alone says a lot about this shop and its staff. Avoid coming here.
I came in for an inspection after making an appointment 2 full business days beforehand and was turned away because they dont inspect cars after a certain time (hours before my appointment). I asked why I was able to make an online appointment for a service that was not offered at that time. No explanation (or apology) was given.I contacted customer service and was informed that it is the specific locations responsibility to reach out and inform me if they were unable to keep the appointment for whatever reason. The only communications I have from Pepboys is an email and two text messages across two days each confirming or reminding me about the appointment. No missed calls. No voicemails. Nothing in my junk mail.

I got a flat tire Friday morning after the snow storm. I was able to put the spare on and head over to this Pep Boys. Ive never been to this location before, but I was extremely pleased with how well I was taken care of from the moment I walked in. Everyone was friendly and attentive and they were able to service my car right away. My windshield wiper had been giving me some problems as well and the Manager Chris was able to fix the issue before I left. Great service and great people!
I came to pep Boys for 4 tires to be changed. Two weeks later my transfer case gets destroyed so so I took it to the Nissan dealership and they told me it was because they put on three tires that are what I ordered and a fourth tire was a smaller tire. I went back to Pepboys and talked to the manager about it and they put in a claim but no one has gotten back to me about when this will be situated. The claims lady does not return phone calls or emails and it has been over a month. Even the pepboys service manager was surprised that they did not contact me. I am still without my car.
Made an appointment for an oil change. Arrived with one car ahead of me getting the battery tested. I was told it would still take an hour. It took close to 2 hours. Even when I was told it was done I spent 15 minutes standing around while the employees worked on other things and rerouted me to the store to pay instead. Even after paying I stood around waiting for my keys. They broke my dipstick so I had to return the next day for it to be replaced. Do not go here for an oil change. There are cheaper options around with much better service.
Very pleased with my recent experience here at Pep Boys. I had the car serviced at another place for an $800 repair and it turned out it wasnt right, and it happened to break down close to Pep Boys and on a Sunday! They took the car in diagnosed it a few days later for $80 and figured out that the problem was a $40 part. Problem solved. Great service very pleased.

I pulled up shortly before 8 PM (closing time) and his team didn’t hesitate to help me right away. Great customer service!! Thank you and now I know where to always bring my car for service in West Chester.

Pep boys in West Chester has got to be one of the worst stores ever for management and customer service. As a frequent shopper at the store Ive had several disappointing trips but Im going to tell about our last 2 experiences. My wives battery died and left her stranded at work. Understandable batteries die, things happen. The battery was less than 1 year old. Having bought a new battery where she was stranded a replacement was unnecessary. I brought the battery in to Pep Boys, they put it on the charger for 30 minutes or so and said the battery is holding. If the battery didnt hold the charge I would be refunded. I told them the battery failed my wife once I do not want the battery. I asked the employee if they would put this battery back into their wives car? Nope. They told me too bad, I am going to have to eat it. So I went to get the core money back and was told I cant have the money for a reason I am still not certain of. While trying to clearly understand the reasoning the BOSS, as referred to by another employee, told me to take the battery and leave. Seriously thats how its handled? So the previous experience went like this. My wife had a flat tire so I changed it and put the donut on. She went into Pep Boys to have the tire repaired/changed earlier the next morning. The manager was at the service desk, she told them she needed a tire changed. She was told they do not do that here. Pep Boys doesnt change tires? She left and went to Pep Boys in Exton where they did it free of charge. Do we really have to drive an extra 10 minutes to go to the same store? So in conclusion I will not be a frequent shopper at Pep Boys in West Chester no longer. I would advise anyone who reads this the same.
Unexpected car repairs can be a nightmare. This Pep boys staff was efficiency in action, pleasant and reasonable.
Couldnt get my car inspected without them bending the latch on my fuel tank door, which prevented me from being able to open it to refuel. Had to release the cable from behind the vinyl in the trunk to get the fuel tank door to open. Returned the next day to waste an hour of them trying to fix it all. If the latch wasnt bent, I wouldnt have had to release the cable. Glad theres plenty of other places to get my car inspected in West Chester. 55$ wasnt worth the aggravation.
Jimmy in the automotive service department was awesome enough to take us as a walk in. My daughter and I are so grateful for his kindness and understanding of our unfortunate situation. We had one of our brake hoses cut on our vehicle suddenly while offroading. He got us in, got it fixed and kept us safe! Went in to pick up a set of XENON lights for 2009 Civic Si. Got a set of Sylvanias with a sweet 15$ rebate. Onto the cool part, as I was checking out, I asked the clerk about HID lights and he answered all my questions without being sarcastic or trying to hurry me out of the store. He gave me a full on lesson about HID lights! Very nice staff. I dont go to the Pep Boys near me anymore, I drive the extra way to go here instead.

Horrible experience. Dropped My work vehicle off at the Pep Boys location on Gay Street in West Chester, PA 06/26 for service. The appointment was for me to leave the vehicle for service all day 06/26 and to pick up first thing in the morning 6/27. When I arrived on 6/27, my vehicle had not been touched, or even moved from the location in the parking lot I had parked it the morning prior. Had the shop not taken the appointment I could have made arrangements elsewhere. Would not recommend this location to anyone and will never make an appointment there again.

I am usually not one to write reviews but this one deserves one. I almost was going to cut ties with Pep Boys all together and I will remain a loyal customer after this experience. Thanks again.
I went in without an appointment because something was wrong with my tire on my way home. They were extremely polite and checked out my car immediately. Since I was stuck there they showed me to the waiting area which had a t.v, magazines and bottled water. Not only did they check back with me frequently to let me know the progress of what they found but they also didnt mind when I came out to see for myself and watch for a bit. Everyone was friendly fast and efficient. I felt very comfortable there and I will definitely go back for any further service needed to my car.
I bought some new bulbs for my headlights, I asked the cashier if they could help install them and she said yes, free of charge. I then went to the shop and asked the guy there if he could install them, he said his co worker would, again free of charge. When his co worker finally was free, he came over and said it would be $10 a bulb. After telling him that two of his coworkers had said it was free of charge, he replied, then get them to do it. Great customer service in the shop, and this guy even looked like he was one of the managers.
I had service yesterday and the service personnel couldnt have been more courteous and helpful. I recommend them if you have any auto service problem. Pricing was fine and they only serviced what was needed or seen.
Dropped car off for an oil change at 12:00pm. Said it would take no more than two hours to complete. Called around 3:30-4 because I hadn’t heard anything back, was told my car hadn’t even been started yet and to try back in an hour. At 5:30 car was finally done, after I waited about a half hour in the store. Then the whole thing cost $82... for an OIL CHANGE?!?!? So I wasted an entire day without a car and then got extremely ripped off.. WOULDN’T RETURN TO PEPBOYS EVER AGAIN!! TERRIBLE!!!
Went there today to replace the battery in my Jeep. They were busy - all bays were full. Rob and Ryan went above and beyond to help. Rather than wait for the next bay to open, they replaced my battery outside - and it was 15 degrees (very cold and windy). 5 stars for service that was exceptional.
I called multiple places in West Chester to have my brakes fixed. Pep boys makes you wait through a menu (Midas and Firestone do not) to talk to a representative that seems more focused on getting you off the phone rather than helping you. They quoted me on work without even asking what type of automobile I drive. I do not like the attitude of the people working there and this was the last chance that I was giving them.How can you quote me an accurate price if you dont even bother to ask what Im driving? No detailed summary of what they would even be doing, everyone else gave me a very detailed quote on parts and labor. Does not make me feel like I can trust them at all if this is how they are before they even get my car.To be fair, his quoted price was in the ballpark of everywhere else. However, I do not want an estimate rounded to the nearest $100, I want an actual price.
