Took wifes truck for new tires, dropped it off at 8:00 am. They called at 3:30 said it was done come & get it. I asked how was the alignment, he says doesnt look like we have the paperwork for that. I will go get it & call you right back. What he meant to say was we havent done it yet we forgot. We go in at 4:00 pm. Still not done. They played it off like no big deal. We took our truck & left & will not be back. Would not recommend them to anyone !!!!! Never did the alignment check.
The staff there was polite, friendly, and helpful. This is how you acquire and retain good customers! Kudos to your business.
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take your car here unless you want to be gauged for repairs that are completely unnecessary. My daughter had blown a tire so we went there for a new tire purchase, installation, and balance. What we received instead was a call stating there was over $1200 in repairs needed in addition including 2 new sway bars and who knows what else (I stopped listening).I said no thank you, we will just take the new tire installation and balance - THEN we were informed they were unable to put the new tire on due to liability. So basically we wasted 6 hours of our day dealing with them to drive away with a brand new tire in the trunk. In turn, we went to an actual mechanic, with credible service who put on the new tire, balanced all the tires, informed us there was nothing wrong with either sway bar and the total was $90.Save yourself - LITERALLY - thousands of dollars and NEVER go here.
I would never recommend Firestone to anybody because they offer the worst customer service leading to a poor experience. We took our car in for a diagnostic and was told we had a fuel system issue and recommended a repairs totaling over $1000. We agreed to the recommendations and let them work on our car. It took 5 days to complete the job which they said would be a day. They assured us the issue was fixed so we paid and got the car back. Within a day of getting it back we experienced the same issues and it started getting worse. We scheduled an appointment and took it back to be looked at again. The manager said he would call us within a couple hours. They never called so we called them 7hrs later to check in. We were told we would have to wait another day for the master mechanic to look at it. They finally called back the next afternoon and told us the car needs engine work and what they did wasn’t going to fix the problem. No refund was offered or any kind of empathy. I am concerned that the work they did has resulted in additional damage to our car. They do not live by their triple promises in anyway shape or form.
We were traveling from Missouri on our way to Minnesota on Wednesday when our tire blew out on the boat of our trailer. Put the spare on, on the side of the highway and made it to the firestone. They were so helpful! Ordered us 2 new tires and went and picked them up for us so we could get back on the road faster. Thank you so much for all of your help!!
Wonderful Customer Service! Went in for an oil change and bulb replacement for a front headlight. The Manager and staff were tremendously helpful and insightful about my BMW 3 series. The Manger even helped me slightly with a coupon. I’d recommend this location to anyone.Thank me later!
When I noticed I had a tire with bulges on my lunch break I knew I needed it replaced fast. Other repair places were either closed or didn’t have the right kind of tire for my car. When I called Firestone, a Service Manager named Kody, told me to come by and he’d see what they could do. Thankfully they had the right kind of tire in stock and were able to fit me in. I was back on the road in less than an hour. Kody was very friendly and helpful. Firestone helped me out when I really needed it.
The service I got for my car is Remove and reinstall heatshield and I was charged 66 bucks. It took about 10 mins for the work. After some research and talking to other mechanic, I realized it was way overpriced.I guess thats just the way how this store doing business.Ill definitely not go back again, nor will I recommend this place to anyone that I know.
When I arrived there were some employees playing with an RC toy car. I arrived around 8:30am but did not get my car back until around 1:30pm. I was late for work. Also (among other unnecessary charges that I was trying to decline) they pressured me into paying about $450 for 2 brake pads. Brake pads are very cheap; Ive never heard of 4 brake pads with a lifetime warranty go for more than $60.So I knew they were scamming me, but I just wanted to leave so I paid for it.tldr; huge waste of time and money.
Went to air in tires. The guy at counter told me to pull in first stall. Ok. I sat and waited no one came out. 7 songs played. Drove around twice still no one. I parked each time no one. Never again. Poor customer service. If I need to bring my car their I wouldnt due to the unprofessional you gave me today. Never will let my family friends & colleague not to come here. Wish I could give them -0
Can’t recommend this place at all. Unfriendly people, unreliable services…it’s a mess
Both for mine and my wifes vehicles these folks have been wonderful.
Was told we could pick car at 5:30 pm and they are open until 7pm They called at 5:55 and said they were closing early ( open to 7?) and we needed to pick it up the next day. I asked when the opened the next day. Was told they open at 7 am. When I got there at 8:25 am the car was still up on the rack and not ready and they were “finishing it up”. We were picking up the car on the way to an 8:30 appointment. Left with the car at 8:50
Last week I went to change the oil and check my battery system because it used to get died from time to time, they inspected the battery and told me it’s in a very good health but need to be replaced because it’s not the right model and also inspected the alternator and told me it’s working perfectly,I said if the battery is not the right model how it’s running for 2 years without any problems although you are telling me it’s in a good health, they convinced me to buy and install a new battery and I had to follow their advice and paid $233 for new battery and oil change, one week later the battery red lighting started to appear on my dashboard, I went to them again and asked why the new battery is failing, after doing their second genius inspection they told me the alternator needs to be replaced although one week ago they found it in a very good health,so first time they charged me to replace a good battery with another good battery and then they discovered that the alternator needs to be replaced and charged me an extra $592 for a new alternator,is that seems a professional work, I don’t think so. Unfortunately Walmart auto care was closed that is why I had to live this bad experience.I advise to not try this location.
Recommended $275 front and rear differential service 30,000 miles early. The dealership confirmed it was not needed. Dont blindly trust their recommendations.
This firestone is the worst place I have ever been. I am a pretty busy person and I’ve been needing to get new tires and an alignment. I stopped in the day before (Monday) to line everything up and to see how much it would cost. They told me they needed to bring my tires from a different location but they would have them delivered and able to install on Tuesday. I asked if the alignment and everything could be done and they said yes, it was a busy day but it shouldn’t be an issue if I left my car with them for the day. As any busy adult knows going without your car for the day is quite the hassle. I agreed and dropped my car off at 815am and went about my day. I work at night and when I called to get my car at 6p they told me they were still working on it... after 10 hours. I told them I needed my car back and that I needed to go to work. My husband picked up my car and they informed him they did not do the alignment. The guy at the desk said my appointment didn’t have the alignment scheduled and whoever scheduled it must have done it incorrectly. Side bar - He was the man that scheduled it. I called back to ask what the miscommunication was and he told me that the tech working on my car isn’t certified so they didn’t do it and that if I brought my car first thing in the morning (Wednesday) they “might” get to it. This is after not having my car all day Tuesday and then working til 4AM in the ER Wednesday. Wanting me to bring it back to “maybe” get an alignment is not worth my time or the lack of sleep. I’m furious and this place is a joke of a business. I could have went to Costco to get the same tires for 40 dollars less and have the same job done. They only reason I went here instead is because they were able to do the alignment, which clearly they aren’t able to do. Beware bringing your vehicle here if you have a schedule and actually need work done. They suck at communication and customer service and I will never stop at this location again.
I am so disappointed in this place!! I brought my car in for a flat tire, it was around 9:00am. I asked if it could be done by 5, they said yes. I called them at 4 to check in and they hadnt even gotten to my car yet. I explained that I had to get my children from daycare and needed the car at 5. When I arrived at 5, they still hadnt touched it. I said that I could stay for 30 minutes, They did not have a master tire key, so they could not take care of my tire. I left with nothing but at $40. If I could give this place negative stars, I would - and I work in the service industry. Terrible customer service.
Brought my car in for a simple tire change, oil change, and alignment check at 12:45. At 3:45 the car still hadn’t been touched and I was sitting here the whole time watching cars pull in an hour after and being serviced before mine. Won’t come back to this place due to lazy workers who do what they want.
Excellent service! We had low tire pressure on our RV and Zach quickly checked and serviced all the tires. We were back on the road in no time (and no charge). Thanks Firestone and thanks Zach!!!
These guys went out of there way to get our tire fixed and get us headed home.
We noticed a screw in our tire during our road trip. These guys were great. They worked us into their schedule on a Sunday, and we were back on the road in less than an hour. They had friendly employees too. Thanks for the assistance!
Set up an appointment for 11:30 still hadnt been seen by 1:45
Richard was absolutely amazing and very flexible, he was understanding, and empathetic with our situation. Long story short, we blew out a tire on the interstate and he was able to get us in and out of there with a brand new tire in less than 30 minutes. If you go to firestone in west Des Moines, I highly recommend this location and I of course recommend Richard. Thank you again!
I made an appointment like couple days back and went there exactly at my appointment time 10 AM. This is to do my life time free alignment and full vehicle inspection. I also mentioned in my appointment that I going to wait in store. After couple of hours (around 12.15ish) they came with feedback as i have battery issues that needed to be cleaned, some additional tire issues and cabin filter change etc. I asked to change everything except tire as I decided to do that later time. It was around 1.30 they said as soon they pull my vehicle for alignment and it going to take 20 mins to get it done and i m free to leave. Felt i m going to leave by 2 thinking they going to pull my vehicle by 1.30 or atleast by 1.40. but they didnt pull my vehicle until 2.25. Im waiting in store for the whole time from morning 10 AM till 2.30 PM (4.5hrs ) still they havent done. Honestly this is very poor service as I m in store and they took almost 2.15hrs to get my approval with their initial feedback and after they got yes from me it took another 2.5 hrs to get the work done. Pretty much i wasted my entire day sitting in store even though I made my appointments well in advance and responded with approvals on time. Very disappointed with the service they have done. Whats the point in making advance appointment? Not going back again unless they do service with quality customer service.
Went to get an Alignment done on my car at 9AM and dropped the keys off and grabbed breakfast. Came back an hour and a half later to get a status on my car and was advised that they hadnt started on it, as they had left over alignments from the previous night and told me it would be done at 12:00 (I wasnt advised of this delay on my initial drop off). I was then called at 1:00 PM (3 hours after it was supposed to be done) and was given terrible service with no apologies on the delay that was due to work not completed the night prior.
So far so good! My car should be up and running by 4pm...and they give military discount, which is much appreciated!Just picked up my car and referred my baby brother to get an alignment and oil change! Winifred is AWESOME! Shes so super helpful and definitely the person you want to talk to at Firestone! Also, Derek is the most awesome shuttle guy EVER! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
This location has amazing customer service and exceptional workmanship. I had dropped off my Hummer H3 for a left wheel bearing replacement and a new windshield wiper motor today and not only did I have my vehicle back same-day, but also had a personal phone call when the work was finished. I want to give a special thank you Scott Coffin for working with my warranty and being trustworthy. Derek and Joe also made a huge impact on the first time I came in for an oil change. I will and would recommend this location to everyone!
We live close and have taken our cars there simply for convenience. BIG MISTAKE. Every time they call us and tell us we need new tires REPEATEDLY. This LAST TIME I took my car in in to patch a tire and they called me to tell me that they COULD NOT PATCH THE TIRE, I had to buy a new one and they suggested new ones. I told them the tires had plenty of tread to patch and I was told that they have to adhere to CORPORATE STANDARDS. And my tires didn’t meet those standards. I took the car to another garage and it was patched no problem and plenty of tread. BUYER BEWARE!
I stopped in because I needed a tire cap. Scott was so very nice. He was very friendly. He gave me the cap and all he asked for was a high five from my son. I need tires for both vehicles. I will be purchasing them from Scott. Good customer service is everything!!!
***BEWARE****DO NOT COME HERE! Firestone will con you out of money. I came into the shop and thought something felt weird and left the shop with a sheet estimated over $5,000 of charges that they said needed to be fixed. I was in disbelief and spoke to my friends and they had me go to two other dealers. Neither of those dealers claim there was an issue with what Firestone said (but another item) and my car is still functioning amazing now. They tried to take advantage of someone who doesn’t know cars and I’m livid at this company. They just want to make a buck and will come up with extras to get it. I’ve warned family and friends of this experience! If you do come here uncertain of what is wrong, CHECK OTHER SHOPS as well. Getting an oil change is fine or if you know what service you need but DO NOT come here for them to find the issue, if you do, they will come up with $5,000 worth of it!
My car needed brakes and a tire balanced. I get a call telling me it will be 1000.00 for the job. I said no just balance the tires so they charged me 75.00 seems a bit high. I go to the dealer this morning same job for 336.00. So get a second opinion.
Not all Firestones are created equal. This one is first rate. They helped to address a rather troubling issue I experienced elsewhere with courtesy, professionalism and skilled mechanics. They have earned my trust and my future business.
Got home after an oil change to find a trail of oil down the street. Mechanic loosely put the oil filter cap on and oil was spraying out. The rubber gasket for the cap was visible and not even engaged. Unable to drive the car which was now empty of oil, I changed the oil myself. Was given a refund, but cant recommend firestone given the sheer negligence that could have cost an engine.
I had asked The technicians to check the dash lights and they couldnt find anything yet they charged me $200. I used to go to Firestone but I will not go there anymore I dont like being ripped off and if I had it my way Id kick them in the nuts
I used this service twice. I am very satisfied! Very friendly. All my problems were resolved very well. Replacing a starter in my CRV was done for few hours and for reasonable price. A problem with a rattling noise coming under my car was detected in seconds, and resolved almost for free. Richard is the service advisor who did a great job in helping with this problem. I recommend this place to everybody!
I just moved to West Des Moines and needed an oil change. I had a great experience. I believe it took a reasonable amount of time and the technicians were very friendly. I will come back for future car needs.
Called few days ago to change my tires with another“set of used tires”. I asked them nicely if they CAN change it because they are used. I was told yes and my appointment was scheduled. When i got there i again mentioned my tires are used the mechanic who took my keys said thats fine they will get started on. After already being there 30 minutes with two little kids someone else comes out and tells me they cannot put used tired on my vehicle and on top of that i had to wait another 30 minutes for them to put the old tires back on because they have taken them off. They noticed the tires were used when the mechanic took them out of my trunk. Make sure you speak with the lead mechanic or someone who is charge in case you need something done. Waste of my time when this whole situation could have been avoided when i was scheduling the appointment. Never going here again. Looks like couple of them do not know what can and cannot be done there.
Bought tires once and went ok. Then wife took her car in because it was making a vibration. They did an inspection of entire vehicle for ten dollars. Its a 2017 jeep. Joe somebody gives her an assessment saying it needed a rear end, struts, shocks, etc. To the tune of 7000. I laughed at him. Took it to Discount tire for new tires and runs like a champ. Liars. Same thing happened to buddy. They always try to upsell you.
My car overheated while I was about 45 minutes from home. I drove to Firestone without an appointment. They got me right in & diagnosed the issue. They explained the issue to me at my level. After giving approval to fix it, they took me to my doctors appointment & picked me up afterwards. When I returned it was repaired. They were very courteous & helpful. Recommend them highly.
I needed help attaching a front license plate holder. The gentleman who helped me came out in the cold wind, tried multiple sizes of screws, found the ones that fit, and put it on for me. All while I waited in the comfort of their warm clean waiting area. And they didnt charge me anything. That is great customer service! Won me over!!
The quote I received for work on my front brakes were beyond ridiculous and downright insulting. I got the work done at a family recommended mechanic for literally half the price. Be prepared for them to try and up sell. I understand paying a little extra premium for being a national chain, but I wish I didnt waste my time here just because the location was convenient. Staff was nice at least.
It kind of seems like their business model is to have good real estate and basically the cheapest mechanics they can find. Its gotten to the point where I just dont trust them for more than a basic solution, like an oil change or tire rotation. It might vary quite a bit by location though.
Great service. Not bad on time. Very friendly staff. Mechanic read wrong ticket for tire rotation so it it done for nothing. Place was clean. Very pleased
Good customer service.
Honest, fast, and friendly. We have had sets of tires installed by Firestone on both of our vehicles. Excellent service and fair pricing. They provide fast service and stand by their work. Great business!
After looking at Google reviews for this Firestone location, I was hesitant about bringing my vehicle to Firestone for service. However, once I arrived, I was helped in a timely and professional manner. I explained to the Service Advisor, Ben, what had happened and what I believed to be the problem. He and his crew of technicians were able to diagnose the issue quickly and get the parts in fast to get me back on the road. They even stayed late to make sure that I could get my car back the same day. Also, the repair cost was reasonable and close to what I expected it to be. I cant thank the crew at Firestone enough for getting this cross country traveler back on the road. Great job guys!
My vehicle was sent to Firestone from body shop due to an accident, they totally missed that my strut was broken in the accident. After I had told them it was making a clunking noise from right side. Sad that a female can tell something is wrong and a mechanic cant!
2018I went to Walmart first, but they didnt have my kind of tires & wouldnt call to check their other stores. I did a Google of tire shops and called them. I was happy they were open on a Sunday morning and Ron was pleasant on the phone. I did have to hold for a couple of minutes (and almost hung up), but then he said they had the tires I needed. He said he would work me in between appointments. While I was there, he ordered a couple more sets of those tires just to have them on hand! I think I was only there an hour or less. Andy just called, less than 24 hours later, to say the other 2 tires will be in tomorrow. They also have 6 month same as cash plan right now! Great job guysOct. 2019Staff called with updates and prices before continuing service. They brought car to front door so I did not have far to go on these crutches! Checkout was quick and easy with my Firestone card (even though I could not find it!) Thanks for taking care of my family. We heavily rely on you guys.
I needed my tire change and was able to get in right away and taken care of. The gentleman that helped me made sure that I was able to make it back to work in time.
I had vehicle trouble while driving through Des Moines. Derek got me into an appointment the next morning. Mike literally cleaned out the problem within a couple hours and I was on my way home to Minnesota. The team was friendly, clean, quick, and professional. I so appreciate their help to got me back on the road as quickly and as safely as possible. I would recommend their location and team to everyone! Thanks guys!
Was on a road trip.. front tire started peeling... Firestone guys were able to fit me in and they were busy plus it was a Sunday...got me back on road quickly!
We came here for preventive service, an oil change. The oil that never leaked out of our car before leaked out into our garage. We had to bring it back two times for them to get it to stop leaking on our garage floor. We attempted to give them a second chance they going there for an oil change, balancing and aligning of the wheels. They over-inflated all four tires and did not put them all to the same pressure either. When I brought this up to them, they fixed the air pressure. They never did fix our garage floor. When we came back requesting they do so, the manager handed my husband a sack of rags. When we brought this up via a private message, we were told the manager would be in touch with us period after 3 weeks we never heard from him, we reach back out. We still have oil stains on our garage floor from the time we did business here. We will never return.
These guys can not be trusted! My daughter is going to college in Iowa and on a trip to Des Moines her 1999 Mustang began to overheat. She and her boyfriend discovered the radiator hose had burst. She called me, in North Carolina, for help and advice. After a few minutes, a trip to the parts store, and $25 later, they were able to replace the hose and refill the coolant. However, the car continued to overheat. I recommended they take it somewhere quick and get it checked out. The closes place was a Firestone on Mills Civic. Their expert advice was that the engine was blow, and she needed to spend $2500+ to repair a slew of issues from a water pump to blown head gasket. The Kelley Blue Book value on this car was at best $1500. No way we can spend that much money on a car that old. The next day, she took the car to the Shade Tree Auto in Grimes. After a very reasonably priced diagnostic test, these guys discovered that there was only air trapped in the coolant system. About $70 later, the car was fixed. If you are looking for a place that you can trust your car with, FIRESTONE AUTO on MILLS CIVIC PARKWAY is NOT the place! They are unethical and saw a 20 year old woman as an easy target.
I heard my breaks making noises and assumed I needed new ones. The FREE diagnostic indicated no issues. The Firestone technician explained that build up sometimes occurs on the pads and that is probably what I was hearing. It was nice for them to not charge me when they could have. HONESTY is the best way to describe the experience!
45 minutes passed after my appointment before they pulled my car in the garage to be serviced. Okay I get it, your overbooked. But then the employee has the nerve to rev up my car multiple times as he’s pulling it in the garage. Completely unprofessional!!! It’s not your toy, treat it with respect. Never going back and never will recommend.
I should have never taken by business here. I had brakes, rotors, and a flush done which cost me $1000 after there generous discount. They talked me into the flush as it would prolong the life of the components. Right at a year later my brake lines went bad and ruined the brakes and rotors and i had to spend another $600 to get it fixed. After telling a few friends about this it seems like they have had similar issues. Please take your vehicle elsewhere if just for the simple fact that this place is so overpriced
I have bee taking my vehicles to this Firestone location for years. In addition to oil changes, I have also purchased tires and had brake jobs done there. Andy and his crew have been extremely professional and have never sold me, or tried to sell me, a service or product that wasnt needed. I trade both vehicles every two years, so it is very important to me to keep them in tip-top shape. They do this for me at Firestone.
I drove my car simply across the street due to the tire gauge light came on on my Lexus. I was told that the drive across the street had shred my side walls I had them install my spare tire. I went to my neighborhood Goodyear which I have done business with for years and was shown that there simply was a balance weight for a tire stuck in between the tread which had punctured my tire. $17.00 versus $300.Just say No!!
Shout out to Derek who helped us this morning. We just needed to tap off our oil before a long drive. He was very friendly and helped us real fast.
Excellent customer service from Devon R. I will be taking all of our vehicles here from now on.
The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They also offer a military discount, which I think is the right thing to do!
We had a tire blow out while traveling on I-80. The lady that helped us at this Firestone, Chelsea, was extremely helpful and kind. They took care of us quickly and professionally.
We were traveling home to WI when we had a tire fail on our pickup. Mike was able to get us in and take care of the problem very quickly. We were treated very well by both the service advisor and the technician. We were back on the road with a new tire installed in less than an hour. Thank you.
Was here for complete checkup, before 3 months. The manager tried to overcharge me. I booked my service appointment online for 9.99 package. But manager tried to play smart and said me more than $20. I refused to pay and paid only for the package I chose.
Very bad service I was waiting four hours just to have a tire change and the terrible service, not to mention that the waiting room had insects in the sitsWhen I looked to see if my car was ready I looked at some workers playingI recommend that they need more people at frontThey don’t attend you if your the first one on line they don’t let u know when your car is ready
My girlfriend took her car in to have four tires moved from her sons car to her car. Firestone mounted the four tires on her Porsche Cayenne, and charged her $125, which was fair. I saw the vehicle a day or so later and told her that the drivers side front tire looked low. I said there was a slow leak and she should take it back for them to re-check the tire and re-mount it if necessary. She drove the car about 3/4 mile back to Firestone today, and when she got there, she was told that SHE had damaged the slow-leaking tire and that she would need to buy four brand-new tires. I called and talked to the manager. He hung up when I said, Those tires worked just fine on a different vehicle, and the slow leak was the result of installation. How will you stand behind the tires you installed. I called back and gave him the benefit of the doubt, saying that it appeared our call had been inadvertently disconnected. I said the tires were fine on the other car, and that the slow leak occurred as the result of installation. He hung up. I called back and let him know that I did hope that they were in fact monitoring the call for quality control as the recorded voice said. I said to put the tires back on and wed take it elsewhere. If the tire was damaged, it should not have been installed. If the tire was not damaged, yet was installed in a way that caused a slow leak, the error should have been rectified. Not once did the manager of the store indicate that his store put on a perfectly good tire that developed a slow leak a few days later, even though it had never leaked before.Had the manager admitted any responsibility whatsoever for the results of his stores installation, a good result could have occurred. Instead, he blamed the woman whose car he damaged with improper tire installation.
A HUGE Thank You to the guys and gals at the Firestone here in West Des Moines. Andy, Paul and Kara were such a pleasure to work with, especially with me working remotely in North Carolina. Every time they were prompt to answer the phone and went out of their way to accommodate. I cannot thank you enough for the help and support you offered over the course of those 3 days. Especially putting in the work over Memorial Day Weekend. I want to commend them on their communication and constant progress reports. We had a deadline to hit on this company vehicle and they did everything they could to see that this deadline was met. I highly recommend using these guys, you wont be disappointed.
Wonderful service. Quick advise.
This Firestone specifically has been a joy to work with. Is it always fun to pay for car repairs? No. But these guys have worked with us countless times and have gone above and beyond for us. There is this one guy there named Art that works mechanic magic on everything he touches. Well continue to give our business to Firestone on Mills!
The only place I will take my vehicle - great service and trustworthy!!!
They addressed my problem promptly and didnt try and talk me into a service or repair I didnt need. Jon was very helpful the entire time. I would highly recommend this location.
Called on a sunday at 4:30. got me in right away to replace two tires in half hr. excellent!
Im giving them this because they are my mechanic. But in light of recent occurrences and what I hope doesnt happen, it just may change.
My daughter took her car to this location for an oil change, and by the time they were done theyd convinced her she needed nearly $1,000 in repairs to her front end. Fortunately, she was raised to be a bit of a skeptic and called me for some advice. I told her to thank them, pay for the oil change and then take it to a mechanic I knew in the area I trusted. Surprise, surprise there was NOTHING wrong with her front end that needed to be repaired.Obviously this is a place you want to avoid at ALL costs. Unless, that is, you want to get screwed out of your hard earned dinero.
Good experience with this Firestone Store in West Des Moines. Surprisingly prompt service from such a busy store. Appears to be a local favorite.
I had a appointment at the wrong location, but they were happily help me through, there busy schedule. Would definitely recommend.
Poor customer service and techs. I brought my vehicle in for an inspection and they charged me $21 for a bill of over $3000 worth of service. Took my vehicle to Chevrolet and they said it was a simple pin missing from my brakes. Firestone didnt tell me about this in their review. Ben the tech sucks, Andy the manager sucks more!
Like this place because their employees are very helpful, knowledgeable as well as this place has some pretty decent prices for tires, oil changes etc.. :)
Full 5-wheel alignment and replaced a brake light that went out on way there and was in and out in 30 minutes. Great service and great price.
I made an appointment for 11:30 for a leaking tire, came back at 12:00 and they hadn’t even started. Came back again at 1:00 and they said that they hadn’t done anything because I needed 4 new tires. Seriously?!
These guys are a bunch of crooks, cant be trusted! STAY AWAY! While our car was there for a simple tire repair, they damaged our car and we were forced to pay for it. My wife brought the car in and they told her what was wrong. I went to ask them about it and the story changed multiple times. There is no way that we could have caused the damage and it was fine before we brought the car in. They charged $600 for a $50 part. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE
Beware of this place! If you take your car in for one problem, I promise youll come out with even more problems when you leave. Not a trustworthy place especially if you are woman. They once charged me $300 to start my car. When it broke down again, I checked on YouTube and found out that it was a common problem with my ignition and all I had to do is leave the keys in the ignition for 5 minutes and then it started up again. Firestone knew this and still charged me $300. I will never go back there!
Did not fix my car and it costed my dad 500 $ just to fix a simple thing
Tried to charge me $1800 for new brakes and tires because they were supposibly shot after getting my oil changed. Received a second opinion and only the front brakes needed to be replaced (with up to 5000 miles more left). Paid $50 for parts elsewhere. Tires have another 5-10000 left. Not sure if they thought I was that uneducated or what but not impressed.
Had my car’s oil change done last Sunday, very happy with their service.
I have used Dueler tires for over 20 years. Never buy them again after the last 2 sets. I’ve had to replace 4 of the last 8 tires due to “unrepairable” sidewall leaks. Total ripoff.
Fast service. Added an oil change to tire service without hesitation. Lifetime alignment performed automatically.
Please dont waste your money here. In the last 6 months i have put in over $1000 combined between both West Des Moines locations. Ive tried on several occasions to tell them what is wrong with my car, but their mechinics just wont listen. They charged me for all this work that didnt even solve the problem and then just told me to go to the dealership. And now, after being serviced by them, I have a whole new problem that has started. They wont stand by there work. The best bet is to cut out the middle man instead of dumping money here. It is a waste of your money and you will end up having to take your vehicle somewhere else to be serviced. Their mechanics cant even do a simple allignment right. I guess a positive I can take away from my experience, at least they put the oil back in my car when I had them do an oil change.
Very helpful, polite and honest manager and crew. Depending on the repair it can be a little more expensive than other area shops but they certainly offer you the expertise and peace of mind to make it worth your time and money.
Received call that auto was finished at noon today after 7 am drop off. While I was surprised due to time estimate on A/C condenser and recharge $1,000 repair having to secure parts I questioned them to make sure it was really done. I immediately had spouse drop me off. She left to do shopping. Upon arriving I noticed the car still in the shop with the hood still up. It was now estimated another 3-4 hours. I have been a customer on 3 to 4 autos for 25 years at your 22nd Street with Mike OBraza and never had this happen. NY the was I believe this civic Mills street sy store Manager, Joe, may be one of your best at customer relations. Just frustrated.
Fantastic service. They go above and beyond the call of duty. Honest, guaranteed work. Been practically my exclusive provider for both of my vehicles for four years.
They were able to help me right away when I lost all air in my tire.
Dont waste your money at this place the service is terrible. Go to West Town Auto or somewhere else where theyre honest.
Dont Take Your Car Over There PleaseI Took My Car At There cause my cars brake was spungy and not working well.they did full brakes inspection and they said i have to change my Front rotors & pad.they said it costs $495.then i said go ahead and do it.but after some days i did not find any differences on my brakes then i went back there to tell about my brakes.they took my car and did some inspection.they said brakes are good and it wont happen again so i thought they fixed it.but after a weeks i found or realize a same issue on my brakes.then i took my car at there 2nd time.they kept my car for couple hour and they said now they did everything that needed to be done.but it was not fixed properly.i spent my $500 But My Brakes Are Same.So now i am sick and tired of going there and waste my time.
The only thing I can give a review on, is a front end alignment, and they are hacks at that. I took my truck in for an alignment, got it back and in no time there was a massive clunk in the front end when entering a driveway. It had a hard pull immediately afterwards. I took it back for a correction, when I got it back it still pulled, plus the steering wheel was not centered. They did not address the problem which was they had not properly tightened the upper a-frame bolts, I did not return it a second time or will I ever frequent the store again.I took the truck to a different shop to be corrected, they commented that they have never seen an alignment so messed up.
Firestone mechanic busted my taillight on my new car and told me that the damage was already there. Its ridiculous that these businesses can get away with anything. I wish I never went to firestone. Its gonna cost me 300 bucks to get a new taillight now. I will never go to firestone again. There are better places out there that do a better job without damaging your car. Avoid this place if you have new or expensive car. Otherwise, you will regret it :(
Great service, friendly staff and they know what they are doing. Definitely recommend a visit if you need anything vehicle repair related.
$21 (1.99 patch, $7 balance, $11 labor, tax) to patch a tire that was already off the vehicle. When questioned about the very high price the salesman simply shrugged his shoulders and said thats what Firestone charges and offered to put it on my vehicle if I would wait an hour. Save yourself $15, go across the street, and have Walmart do it for $6 in less time.
Staff were very honest with me and up front about the costs to fix my car. Will definitely go there again.
I paid $600 plus in Feb 2017 for the problem with my car rear wheel bearing and hub for wheels one of my expensive car repair in my life, now the car start same noise and behaving exactly same spot. I am 100% doubt about the service performed as expected I paid for. Now another $230, Think twice before, you go here.
