So I did not realize when I stopped here that this was a world famous VW garage. But, I was talking with Cory, the owner, and I thought he looked familiar. Keep in mind, but I have never been to Maine before this so it would be unreasonable for me to think that I would know him. Then I realize that he is a bit of a VW celebrity and I have likely seen his picture online and in magazines. Even though this place was completely packed with other cars, he took pity on me and my bus and was able to work us into his schedule and get us back out on the road. Thanks again to everyone at the VW garage.

As honest and helpful as Ive ever known in a car mechanic. My mother accidentally dropped her credit card down the window pane of my car while paying for gas and the VW Garage was kind enough to remove the door panels needed to retrieve it for free. They are also very honest about advice with repairs, even going so far as not recommending them if the car is being used for a future trade-in but already in bad shape. Excellent customer service, excellent mechanics, trustworthy evaluations, excellent prices, and true value... a rare combination these days! Highly recommended.

So pleased to finally have cold air flowing through my car again! I knew it was the blower motor but had no desire to fix it on my own. VW was able to get my car in quick late afternoon (my fault for dropping it off late) and back to me by 8am the next day. The pricing was incredibly fair and I know I would have paid much more had I gone to the dealership. They also put air into one of my tires that had been intermittently triggering my dash light. Thrilled with Cory and his teams work on my 2016 Stage II VW Golf R upgrades. We fully custom-upgraded the suspension, and man what a ride! Corys passion and enthusiasm were clear from the start all the way to the finish. I say finish because we know youre never done once you start upgrading things! Cory and Steve (the Euro guy) took in my Golf R and have done a lot of great work with it. I mostly worked with these two gents and theyre very knowledgeable and well connected in the VW scene. I trust these guys with my car and my business. They installed a ton of aftermarket parts on my car (suspension, brakes, & parts other cars on the MQB platform) a did a great job. My only regret is not having given them a call sooner... they are connected with a lot of performance parts distributors. In no way did they push the most expensive parts for my car but rather the ones that best fit my application. Thanks guys!

First time bringing my 2012 Golf R for any real service. Cory was more than helpful with any questions and concerns about my car. He went through the whole car thoroughly and told me what he found. Had all my concerns taken care of and at a good price. Although pretty much all of my scheduled maintenance was done at once at around 87,XXX miles was done, I felt that every penny of $X,XXX was well spent. Even got a Unitronic tune from him to wake my car up and on top of that, my car is running like a top! Will definitely be back for other repairs and service in the future.

I had an issue with my 04 passat that my usual garage seemed to have a problem finding, so I looked up The VW Garage. They got me in the next day and figured out what it was and got it repaired. They have a very knowledgeable, easy to work with crew. Prices were pretty fair as well. If you have a European vehicle that needs work, I would definitely recommend bringing it to The VW Garage. Ive used this place in the past without issue. This time around I cant say the same. Good luck getting an appointment, which they dont even make anymore. They are clearly overwhelmed, and thats obvious when they answer the phone completley flustered. They had no record of our drop off, or appointment, and were more or less completely unwilling to help. A business too busy to deal with its customers? I felt like I was talking to a child on the phone. I was told they dont make appointments, because German cars are too hard and take time. Keep in mind all we had scheduled was an inspection and filter change. Theyve clearly bitten off more than they can chew. E2A (john pastore) it is. I will no longer be doing business with, or recommending the vw garage to anyone.

Worked with the owner for over an hour where he eventually found the very specific part I needed and it was a huge relief. I highly recommend the vw garage they have the right connections and knowledge to get the job done!

I own a 2012 VW Golf R and it has been making a strange knocking sound, but only when I am coasting with the clutch in or in neutral. The knocking, at first, was very faint. Then as time went on, more prevalent in frequency and volume.  I have a regular guy and he has been great, but this stumped him.  I took it to another garage, stumped.  They thought it might be the transmission, nope, the transmission shop didnt know either.  I started calling other European car specialists in my area.  Well, the first one gave up after about a day or so of trying to figure out where the knocking was coming from.  As soon as I drove up to The VW Garage, Corey, the owner, was ready to diagnose my car.  I gave him a quick rundown about my frustrations the last two months with the strange knocking sound that every mechanic that checked it out, 3 different garages and a transmission shop, was unable to diagnose.  We went for a quick drive so he could hear the sound first hand and as we talked and listened, he whittled down the list of possible culprits.  He actually jumped out of my car and ran beside it, while we were slowed by some traffic, trying to diagnose the sound.  We headed back to the shop and he already had a plan of what he was going to do first.  He torqued my lug nuts.  They were incredibly loose.  I was never told I needed to re-torque my lug nuts after getting my winter tires put on.  They have probably been getting looser and looser as I was driving from garage to garage.  It was night and day, and obviously my car felt insanely more stable than it did before.  Incredible!  Just WOW!!!  Corey didnt charge me a dime and has my gratitude and business. His willingness to go the extra mile for the customer is outstanding.  Do yourself a favor and save yourself some hassles, take your VW or Audi here.  Thank you, Corey and Team, for your outstanding service and for truly making my day today.

Recently had appointment (first week April, 2020) scheduled for routine maintenance & cooling issue. Arrived 20 minutes early for scheduled time & was met by counter person who greeted me, whats up. I informed him I had an appointment scheduled. After he checked inside he told me they were getting ready to close. Interesting that he gestured toward my vehicle (non VW) and asked if that was the vehicle for service. Have had the opportunity to travel by the business several times in the past week and the business remains open.Previously (3 visits) more than happy with the service. Not sure why the staff was untruthful.....but concerning enough that I would not recommend or return.

Cory and the crew have been amazing looking after my Audi for the past year and have been a tremendous resource in guiding me through upgrades and mods to my A4 Avant. They are thorough in their explanations of what works needs to be done and what work should be done, are prompt and prices always reasonable. My car has never driven better and im at 130k miles. I got a flat tire on my way to pick up my kids from day care...right at the perfect spot... I was able to pull in to the VW Garage. They not only helped me get a new tire (on my Honda, btw, They Fix Everything!!!!), but also grabbed my car seats out of the car, installed them in a loaner, and had me out to grab my kids within 10 minutes. Awesome service, awesome people, and a local gem! Thanks so much guys!!

Absolute best vw mechanic I know of, at a great price too. He knows the in and outs of these cars and has helped me diagnose what’s wrong with my car over the phone. All around an awesome experience and great help.

I had a coolant leak causing my car to overheat and leak oil and antifreeze. They were able to get my car in and fixed all in the same day. I had one minor problem afterwards with a hose and they fixed it with no appointment in less than 10 minutes and didnt even charge. Definitely will be coming back in the future!

Wow. Great all around experience with the guys at VW Garage. My car had a stripped out oil drain plug from service done at a “quick” oil change place. I brought my Jetta in and it was repaired quickly. The issue was explained thoroughly. It needed a new oil pan which I expected as I had put similar excessive torque on a drain plug on my first car. The cost of repair was very reasonable considering it’s a VW and they are experts in working on them.Needless to say I’ll definitely be back the next time I need service on my cars.

I am beyond impressed and happy I found the The VW Garage! I needed new brakes, 2 tires and calipers for my VW Jetta. I called about 7 places in the area to get quotes. The VW Garage was the ONLY place that offered to look at my car first for free to give me the best estimate on price. I the appointment after hearing the estimate and did not feel like I was being jerked around or being over charged. I even needed new calipers and the gave me wholesale price. The VW Garage is the #1 shop in the entire state of Maine for working on imports. They have an extremely knowledgeable team, I drive over 100 miles to have these guys work on my car.

Cory is a true master mechanic from the forgotten era of taking pride in ones work. He fixes it right the first time and doesnt cut corners. Will fix all the other expert mistakes when he services your car. He will fix anything from air cooled VWs to the newest VW off the lot. I would not bring my European car to anyone else! Be comfortable that when you get the car back it will be as good as, if not better than new!

Cory, Aaron and Casey are super knowledgable techs and have over 50 years experience. Cory is a VW Audi GURU and Master Tech! He also sells and installs Unitronic tunes and parts (made my S4 SCAREY FAST!) Aaron has been in this shop over 20 years and has worked on everything I own including a Ford pickup and antique convertible (his favorite). Casey is new but a master Ford tech and pretty sharp himself. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GROUP!

Its a hassle, but you really do have to maintain your car properly if you want it to run well. But where should you take your car for service? Theres always the dealership service department but you know itll probably cost you an arm and a leg. Theres also insert name here Garage — right down the street, but can you trust them to do the job right?Ive been having my Volkswagen serviced at The Volkswagen Garage for a while. Cory a Certified Volkswagen/Audi repairman but he doesnt charge dealer prices!Not to mention the personal relationship Cory makes with all his automotive services. He also is a pinnacle part of the local automotive scene.
