Got my first ever tattoo done here. AJ was a great artist who perfectly tattooed what I asked for. Him as well as the rest of the staff were super nice and helpful. The inside was very clean and organized and if I decide to get another tattoo, it will definitely be here

Jimmy is an amazing artist! The building is very clean and enjoyable to look at while getting inked. My husband and I went together. The only hang up was that we scheduled an appointment & the indecisive woman before us took foreeevvveeerrrr! But that was not the fault of our artist or the Jade Monkey team. It was a great day and we cant wait to go back!

This is my third visit to Jade Monkey for ink work by AJ and it is a super clean, friendly studio all while being mindful and taking the extra precautions due to Covid. Ill be scheduling visit #4 really soon.

I wanted to get my 5 month old daughters ears pierced. I called and asked to see if there was a someone there that pierced babies. They guy that answered the phone says yes they do them but only one person does babies and that I I come in Tuesday or Wednesday. He asked how old she was and I told her she was 5 months. I told him I would be in Tuesday. I also asked if I needed an appointment to which he said no just call and we will let you know when its your turn. I drove to the shop and called and the same guy answered. He said they would call me back when they were ready for us. I take my daughter out of the car seat and wait. I get a call back to which he asks how old she is and I say 5 months. I am then informed that they wont do it because they dont do anyone younger then a year old! By this point Im extremely mad and ask who I talked to yesterday come to find out it was the same guy I was on the phone with. I specifically called beforehand and asked because Im aware some people do not like or want to pierce babies. I completely understand this but to tell me yes and I then drive 35 minutes to the shop to be told no is ridiculous! The excuse was he was new...okay so if you dont know ask someone in the shop dont tell someone yes!!!

First time at Jade Monkey, had an amazing experience. Communication was great from the first phone call, all the way to leaving after the piercings. Very fast service, I was in and out in 5-10 minutes for a 2nd nose piercing and naval. Proper precautions and safety measures are taken before entering. Very affordable prices.

I LOVE Jqde Monkey! This has been the only place Ive used since 2008 for piercings and tattoos! My kids now even use this place too. I have 2 appointments set up currently to go here in April and May. Highly recommend. Professional, gentle and caring staff. The piercer was VERY gentle with myself and (of age) kids when piercing us and answered all questions/concerns, gave full care instructions. ;) The tattoo artists are Professional and very good at what they do. I will always go to Jade Monkey 1st unless they cant fulfill what I want-which is unlikely. :)

Rarely answer the phone. When they do they want to call you back or submit your piece you want done to them through email and you never hear from them tried three times over the course of 18 months.

I have gone here for all of my piercings over the past like 10 years. The previous piercer was Todd. He was so great I never went anywhere else! This last visit I saw Tim, the replacement Todd picked, and I was NOT disappointed! I think Tim actually did an even better job when he put the jewelry through, I didnt feel a thing and that has always been like the second pain in a piercing but not this time! My nose and both nipples were done in like 15 minutes and Tim did everything to make me comfortable and to make sure I loved what I got. I love love LOOOVE them!! Thanks Tim!

Jade Monkey will be getting all of my future tattoo business. Ive had quite a few bad experiences with tattoo shops through the years, so Im always a bit anxious when it comes to choosing a new place. However, Zach at Jade Monkey put all of that anxiety to rest. Jade Monkey has an extremely inviting atmosphere filled with courteous and professional staff. When I showed up, Zach had everything ready for me and we were done in no time. Even getting the tattoo seemed painless (located on the sternum) when compared to all of my previous experiences. Having been to other shops in Wilmington and even highly reputable ones in Orange County and San Diego County, CA, Jade Monkey is by far my best tattoo experience. Excellent experience! I am from out of town, they fit me in quickly. Price was reasonable. Nick and Jimmy were professional, polite, efficient, and did beautiful work. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. The shop was clean, and you could tell that all the artists take pride in their work.

This was my first time visiting the shop for a tattoo. I’ve been in the past for piercings and had a great experience. Nick did a sun & moon tattoo for me and it turned out beautiful! Great experience! My friend and I both took a trip to get a variety of piercings. We called ahead to make sure it was okay to come in considering the climate of things; they did sanitize our hands and take our temperature before entering which I appreciate. The environment was very clean, the piercer was friendly but professional, and the pricings were more than fair. I would definitely recommend going here and plan to return in the future!

We went last night for my daughters 13th birthday. She wanted a cartilage piercing. They were very welcoming, professional, clean, and very sweet to her. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this shop and the quality of the tattoos they produce and professionalism. Needless to say I was excited about getting a new tattoo but my experience with them was completely different I’ve been trying to get a quote on some tattoo options for the past week and a half. I’ve send pictures by email as instructed and was told someone will get back to me. Since this day I’ve been getting the run around, I’ve been calling almost every few day for my quote and have gotten the same response from several people “what’s ur name, number and email I will look u up and call you back with quote”. One man even promised to call me back in a few minutes still nothing. Their customer service is horrible at this point I’m looking for other shops to get my tattoos done.

This place rocks!!! They took extreme precautions in the midst of COVID — opening doors for customers, immediately sanitizing hands, surfaces, door handles, pens, counters, etc, checking temperatures before you come in and requiring masks. Jimmy was able to fit me in on a last minute notice and went above and beyond for me. I already have my next tattoo in mind with full intentions of coming back to see Jimmy!! Highly recommend!

They’re also taking covid-19 precautions very seriously which I respect absolutely so much!! Very professional overall. I’d highly recommend coming here for a tattoo or piercing. Aaron at Jade Monkey pierced my septum over a year ago and it is by far my favorite piercing! I get compliments and questions about the pain level all the time, and I tell everyone the same thing: this was the best and most painless piercing Ive ever gotten (I have 10 face/body). He was helpful and explained exactly what was going on, it literally felt like nothing, and healed flawlessly. Obviously the ring in the picture is not the surgical steel U-ring used for the healing process, but I was able to switch out the original for this hugger ring within about 6 months. Would definitely recommend Aaron to any friend!

Took our daughter in to get her ears pierced for the first time. She was excited and nervous. When she finally got into the room she became scared and decided against it. Todd and the others at Jade Monkey were very professional and completely understanding. They said we could come back any time and apply the deposit. We were grateful for their understanding and compassion for our daughter.

Was visiting a friend in Wilmington for her birthday, went here because of good reviews and wasnt dissapointed. We were two walk-ins with pretty simple designs and they were very friendly, fast and had the tattoos drawn up and finished in a little under two hours. Everyone was super nice. It was a little bit more expensive than where Im from but hey tattoo artists gotta eat. Thanks guys.

I took my 14 year old daughter in to get her ears pierced after having to let them close up from her first experience 7 years ago at a mall store. Todd at Jade Monkey was phenomenal!!! The entire staff was friendly and laid back. They treated my daughter with kindness and respect. He let me look at the dots on her ears before he pierced them and they are perfect. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for somewhere to get their daughters ears pierced. Sooooo much better than places that use the piercing guns!!

Went here today and got two piercings done, absolutely loved the whole experience! Everyone there was extremely kind and helpful and even though there were lots of customers they made us feel important and didn’t disregard our questions because it was busy. Very clean and great prices! 11/10 WILL go and WILL DEFINITELY recommend! Loved it!!

I simmered for a while on whether I wanted to write this review, but I think it should be known. I paid $250 for a tattoo I dont ask for . Wanted two peonies, and I got two heads of cabbage basically.I went into Jade Monkey to set up an appointment for a tattoo that Ive been wanting for a while. The man at the counter was friendly. I spoke with him briefly and showed him the picture of what I wanted. He pointed my into the direction of the artists portfolios. I looked through them and told him the man at the counter who I liked. The artist had available slots, but the man at the counter told me another artist had more experience with floral tattoos (which is what I wanted). I reluctantly agreed, because his work was pretty good too.I sent the picture to the artists email, he confirms he received itDay of the appointment I get there 20 minutes early. End up waiting an additional 45 minutes after the scheduled time before sitting in the chair.The artist finishes my tattoo, it looks great! Im stoked because the line work is awesome.However once I look back at the referenced photo, it wasnt even close to what it was supposed to be.Only giving two stars, because even though the tattoo is nothing of what I wanted, its still very beautiful and the line work is great

My fiance and I love coming here. Everyone is here is so nice and relaxed and treats you like family. Every now and again we bring our daughter in and they dont mind one bit as long as she listens and stays where she needs to be. Ive gotten two tattoos, one from Noel and one from Jimmy, and they turned out amazing. Ive also gotten a few piercings as well that turned out great. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a tattoo or piercing!!

I went to get a nape piercing. Everyone was nice and friendly. However, after about 3 weeks and lots of research, I realize I was pierced with the wrong material. I went to another piercing studio for advice and they verified that:1. He had not pierced my nape at all. Piercing was not placed in the correct spot.2. The material/“jewelry” he used was not the correct type and the piercing would never heal with the type of material he pierced it with.3. I needed to take it out immediately.4. There will be scarring.5. I have to wait at least 3-4 weeks for it to heal before getting it re-done6. I’m going to have to spend more money because I basically just threw my money away at this place.I will never go back and I definitely will not recommend Jade Monkey to anyone ever.

Jade Monkey is the only place I go to get my tattoos done! Zach does beautiful work, all of the guys are so kind and take care of you, and are communicative and work with you to make sure you’re getting what you need. I moved out of Wilmington and still travel from Raleigh to come to Jade Monkey to get tattooed at Jade Monkey.

I highly recommend this tattoo parlor !! i have been coming here for many years . Since my first day entering the parlor i felt comfortable . The staff was friendly and inviting . I had gone to other shops to look for the right artist since moving to Wilmington and didnt have the same warm feeling that i got when i walked in jade monkey . I chose Noel to be my artist because of his portfolio and his personality . I also checked out his work a few times in person before i got inked by him . I like noel because most of my work he has drawn on, not stenciled . That to me is more of a sign of an artist not just somebody that slings ink . i have 2 full sleeves, full back piece, sides in progress and some leg work done . i have recommended friends countless times to this parlor and will continue to . when i walk in everyone says hello . Hell i even brink insomnia cookies for the staff half of the time . It feels good for a place of business to be this personal . Even though i go to one artist there i would recommend the others as well, in all my hours there, i listen, i pay attention, they all care about their craft !!! Also when it was time for my sons first tattoo ( 18 ) before he went into the United States Air Force, Noel did the honors and my son continues to come back when on leave . Thank you Jade monkey !! Too high priced and not customer friendly

Came here about a month ago with some friends, one was getting her nose pierced and other getting a small tattoo. The guys who did the tattoo were pretty nice and the tattoo came out great; however, the guy who did the piercing was absolutely horrible. I was not aware of the no video recording rule and as i pulled my phone out he made me put it on the counter away from me and then gave me a lecture about how recording a piercing was basically the same as teaching someone how to build a pipe bomb and for 3-4 minutes kept attacking me even after i apologized for the misunderstanding. After trying to strike up friendly convo about how i had my nose pierced there a few years ago he asked me to explain to my friend how to keep the piercing clean and i said i already had but then he said he wanted to hear me explain so as i began to do so he asked me if i was high and rolled his eyes (I was 110% sober the whole time). My friend, as this being her first piercing, was super uncomfortable and so was I. Very unprofessional and they should look into hiring a new piercing guy.

Got my eyebrow pierced today and I Love it already and the artist was really professional, knowledgeable, and upfront honesty. If you go in there wanting a piercing or jewelry change and they know it’s not in your best interest they will turn you away and also explain kindly the reason XYZ...... They could easily do the Risky piercing and take the money and then blame the customer for a negative experience with healing etc.... 1000% recommend

They were amazing. My daughter is a minor and they made sure they had all the proper paperwork. To insure it was ok with me...so forth and so on... Great professionalism. And they did an amazing job with making her feel comfortable

I went here yesterday for my birthday to get my cartilage pierced. Everyone there was SO sweet! Todd made sure the piercing was quick and relatively painless (this coming from someone with a huge fear of needles). I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting any piercings!

I only go for my piercings and I only let Todd or Chew pierce me. Todd has pierced me, my sister, and my niece and theyve all been amazing! I have customized ear piercings and will definitely come back to him soon for my future piercings. Trust me, the price is worth the professionalism, the cleanliness, and the knowledge Todd and Chew possess and the peace of mind knowing youre in great hands. Piercings and tattoos are not really items you want to bargain shop for anyway.

I would highly recommend this studio. Noel has been working on my biomech sleeve and I couldnt be more pleased with the experience. He is one of those artists that has not only an intuitive sense of exactly what a client wants in a design but the skill to carry it out better than the client could have imagined on their own. Ive been here on multiple occasions now, the first piercing I ever got from them was my nipples, they were perfect!! Todd was on point with it, and as gentle as someone could be stabbing you.
