Overall a very positive experience during my visit.The front desk staff was happy, engaging, and helpful getting me checked in and sorting out vision insurance. The eye exam, doctor visit and contact lens session all happened in an organized way. Dr. Singh was very pleasant and helpful with his explanation of my prescription and options. His patient and unhurried demeanor were terrific and appreciated.
I normally do not write reviews for businesses. But today I was absolutely disgusted with the attitude of the front end staff. The lady would not let me finish what I needed to say and kept saying very rudely that she would have to get in touch with the doctor. When I finally got a chance to get my point across and when her other co worker chipped in, she was able to find what I was looking for. No apology was rendered, no eye contact was made.I will definitely take my treatment, my son’s treatment, my husband’s treatment somewhere else next year. Also I will let my friends and family know who are patients there as well to go somewhere else so they don’t have to deal with this kind of bad attitude. I would like to mention this is my second bad experience with the same person. Congratulations on loosing multiple patients.
I really like Dr Berman and the staff that assist him. They are very friendly and efficient at their jobs. It’s what keeps me coming back to Thomas Eye Group. However the front office staff need an attitude adjustment. It’s almost like they feel you are imposing or bothering them. Nobody smiles, they are short with you and when I had to call about a billing problem, which was sent to me in error there was no apology and the person handling the issue did her job but it sure wasn’t a pleasurable experience. The front reception area is a patients first contact with the practice you would think they would be a little more friendly.
My appointment today was positive from start to finish. Check in was very easy & the front desk staff were friendly. My appointment was with Dr Berman for a follow up to a previous procedure. He did a very thorough exam and identified a new issue that required some further follow up. Dr Berman & his technician were both very professional and explained everything as went along. I feel better confident that I am receiving excellent eye care from the Thomas Eye Group.
Although the wait times are often times lengthy, I would not want to take my son to any other place! Dr. Berland caught an oddity in my son that would have caused him to go blind among other issues if it had gone undiagnosed. I will always trust him and his wonderful staff with my special needs child!
Took my son to see them a month ago and waited 4 hours from start to finish. I took my son back today to order glasses and the Optician was extremely rude. I remember her being rude to us last year too, but thought maybe she was just having a bad day. I don’t like to fault people for one bad day. Well today again she acted like my son and I were inconveniencing her by wanting to purchase glasses and asking about two different types of glasses. She also got impatient when she couldn’t find our insurance plan, but it turns out she was misspelling the name after I told her twice how it was spelled. I asked for my prescription and we will be taking our business elsewhere.
The staff is not friendly at all. We waited a very long time to be called in to the exam room. We will not continue going to this location. The Roswell location is much better, even though it is quite a ways further from us.The only friendly person there was the lady who helped my daughter order her contacts.
Professional, efficient, competent staff. Very nice facility. Wait times are reasonable. Overall I like Thomas Eye Group. I would recommend their services to others.
Theyre definitely experts in what they do but have yet to master time management. Theres plenty of staff at check in plus self check in kiosks but what good is that if you create a funnel of patients sitting in the waiting room for a half hour or more past their scheduled appointments!?Its one reason why I dread my visits here. I wonder if their consistent issue with this is because theyre unique practice limits your choices....where ELSE can you go?
Want to thank Thomas eye group in woodstock. I scratched my eye this morning leaving out for Florida. We called alot of places that wouldnt see me. Thomas worked me in first thing. They treated me like I was a regular patient and had known me for years.I cant thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism. Id almost drive an hour to see them just because of this for future eye issues. ♥️
It was a nice experience. Staff are professional and efficient. Their follow up is great. I needed a form faxed to my insurance company and it was handled within 24 hours. Amanda, Irena and Dr. Singh were all exceptional in every aspect of the visit. Definitely worth the drive from Ellijay.

No bedside manners, not professional, staff are literally rude, they seem preoccupied with their own personal matters, disconnected with patients. Basically you’re just a number to them. My 74yr old uncle is about to loose eye sight in his right eye, but his doctor couldn’t do the surgery because he was going out of the country on vacation, and they couldn’t put a team together to operate:(It’s all good because we found excellent care with another Dr. his operation is today🙏

The doctor and technicians were great. My daughter is 7 and had her eyes dilated. I never have. No one made me aware that her eyes would be blurry and the sun would bother them. I brought her back to school and the rest of her day was horrible. Please remember to make people aware of the side effects.
All the staff at TEG are exceptional! I thoroughly enjoyed my check up! The team is efficient and still make you feel like you are the only patient! I experienced an excellent visit at Thomas Eye Care. The check in was extensive, but easy to follow. The wait time before I went back was reasonable. Rose did a great job of my examination. I had a detailed exam by Dr Berman and his assistant Kristin. Checkout and referral was handled professionally by (I’m sorry I did not catch her name).
The folks here are the nicest most professional you will ever meet. And Dr. Breman is the best in town. Bar none
Excellent doctor and great staff!.Also very friendly and helpful. Only one negative thing. While I was in the waiting room, 4 young women came in to call patients. 3 of them only made a quick swipe over the TOP of the armrests. The other one only took a few seconds, but she wiped the sides and undersides and even across the seat!! She did a thorough job! Went in with concerns about findings from my last visit. The entire team at Thomas Eye Group do a tremendous job. I moved from one test to the next... I was made aware of what they were doing at each... ending with ain depth exam and consultation with the doc... everything was done in a very timely fashion and I left feeling total relief knowing I was in good hands. Needless to say I highly recommend these guys.
I cannot recommend Thomas eye group for pediatric patients highly enough. Even with other true pediatric ophthalmologists closer, I will continue to drive there. They have done a great job with my for year old, so far correcting her eye crossing without surgery. Dr. Berland is really great with both the kids and the parents. He makes sure I understand exactly whats happening. Try them. You wont be disappointed.
After a traumatizing previous experience with a pediatric ophthalmologist who didn’t seem to care for children, we made an appointment with Dr. Berland and drove an hour to see him. The appointment took two hours, and though it was tough for a five year old to hang on that long, every single person who dealt with my son was kind, cheerful, and encouraging. Dr. Berland, was especially thorough and gentle with him, as well. We’ll absolutely return for our next checkup.
I have to say I was extremely pleased with my visit to the Woodstock office. Having been in the medical field, the staff was awesome! From the ladies at the front desk checking me in, to the assistants, and the contact lense specialist, to Dr Singh explaining in detail how my eyes were working with 2 different contact lenses and the anatomy of my eye. It was a detailed exam given with the utmost care. I will drive the 40 minutes to see Dr Singh and his staff because it was a very pleasant experience. To the ladies at the front desk, “stay warm” ! Everyone at this location was helpful, pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable and even under the masks they were smiling! Keep up the exemplary service!!
My biggest complaint is having to buy contacts and apply your insurance is the most difficult thing to do. There is not an option on the NEW web portal to add in your insurance. So you are left to call or come in to get that done. Now the fun begins and you wait for the 1 person put of all the staff in the building that can assist you.Why is an organization that is this big not able to have more people capable of ordering and taking payment. Fix that issue and it would be a much better experience for everyone. Btw I have been waiting for 45 minutes now and still no one to order the items we need.

GREEDY doctors get bad reviews!!This place is a joke!!! If I wasnt a doctor myself I wouldnt understand the insurance game they play here in this office. Ive had a chalazion before and went to the Clayton Eye Center and they removed it on the first visit.This is what we were expecting with Thomas Eye Group. Not these people!! First you have to schedule a consultation so the doctor can examine you. Chalazions are pretty easy to diagnose especially if you have had one before. We were expecting an exam and then the procedure to remove it. Not these people!!They recommended we try the moist compresses for two weeks to see if it would go away on its own. We did and of course it did not go away. After all it had been there for 2 years prior.So now we call to schedule the chalazion procedure. They tell us we have to schedule another consultation with the doctor. Suspect that this will also be an office visit without the procedure, I personally went in the day before our appointment to make sure they had scheduled time for the procedure to be done. Not these people!!So they want us to come in for another office visit to verify that, yes, the chalazion is still there and THEN schedule another office visit for the procedure.So what took me at the Clayton Eye Center 1 visit, would take 3 office visits at Thomas Eye Group.That is ridiculous and its called milking the insurance company! Im a physician myself so I know how the insurance game is played.I will never go to this place for anything because I know its all about billing your insurance the maximum they can get.
If you like unfriendly staff and want to feel like a number, rather than like a patient, this will be your place.....
Dr Berman is the best. His staff is always professional and well organized. Its a pleasure to have complete trust in a organization that is as well run as Thomas Eye Group. Knowing Dr Berman has so much experience and knowledge takes 99% of the anxiety of a visit there for yearly checkups or me doing something dumb and needing him to check it out. Great office amd experience.
A very thorough exam was administered by Rose. Rose was so professional with an outstanding personality who explained everything she was about to do so you understood what to expect. This office adheres to covid-19 cleanliness like no other office I have been to. Outstanding job Rose! Ill be getting my first pair of prescription glasses after using readers for the past 20 years. Kudos to Thomas Eye Group in Woodstock!
The experience was very positive. All of the staff were very Covid-19 aware and were taking all of the correct measures to ensure staff and patient safety. Wait time was minimal and the doctor extremely knowledgeable. I will continue to utilize this practice.

With Covid its understandable to be a little hesitant to have your eyes check or even have a dentist clean your mouth but we must still continue life and not avoid our health. I was pleasantly surprised how smooth my appointment went. You come inside, let them know you are there for your appointment, fill out the information on the touchscreen and go back and sit in your car until they call you. Everything from the initial visit and eye test to the visit with the doctor was not an issue at all. Everyone has on masks, there are hand sanitizers bottles everywhere and everyone is conscious of this virus and do everything to make you feel comfortable while you are there. The staff is really friendly and helpful. This was a wonderful eye exam experience.
Great doctors- awful staff. Saw them originally in March 2019 with no issues. Went back in 2020 to get an updated prescription. When I submitted my prescription to 1800 contacts, the office told them that I did not have a prescription (I had been seen the previous week). There is no way to call the office directly, so I had to deal with the central office to try and get someone on the phone. I was told I would have to come back (and pay) for a 2nd appointment for a contact fitting. Who doesnt love to go back and pay a second time during a pandemic for something that was overseen during your first visit? Made an appointment to go back. Three days before my appointment, I was contacted by 1800 contacts to let me know that they received my prescription and my contacts were being shipped. How is this possible when the office told them I didnt have one? Called Thomas Eye Group to cancel my appointment since apparently it wasnt needed and to confirm that I did in fact, have a prescription. When I called I spoke with Tonya who said I DID NOT have a prescription. When I asked her what was given to 1800 contact she hung up on me. I called back and had to leave her a message. I never received a call back. I called the following day and asked to speak with the office manager. She was available and I had to leave a second message. Bottom line: 1. Its impossible to get in touch with anyone at your ACTUAL DOCTORS OFFICE and 2. they cant seem to keep records straight.Glad I am magically being mailed contact with a prescription that I apparently dont even have?! While I love the doctor, I wont be back simply because the staff is impossible to deal with.

Not only is Dr. Berman an amazing eye doctor with his patience, professionalism and I felt he is very knowledgeable in his field .Every time we were there he was on time with me. I also want to mention that Rebecca at the front desk is an amazing employee. She always is so friendly and sweet when we walk in there. One more employee I would like to mention is Rose. She is great at her job, and I really appreciate her explaining everything to me and the time she takes. I think this practice and Dr. Berman are the best !!

This was my first visit at Thomas Eye Group. My dermo sent me there ASAP! I was dionosed with shingles on my face & eye lid majorly. Im hoping my eye lid will open up normally in time. I had to visit them often every week for 4 weeks! I was in GREAT Hands! They explained everything in detail & made me feel very welcomed- I was in great deal of pain so they were very careful. I want to Thank the staff & the Dr for all your help! Im still healing & I can see. God Bless & Stay Well.
Just a regular checkup. Everyone was very friendly and answered any questions I had. Staff was very good with handling COVID protocols to keep staff and patients safe. It came as easily to them as greeting a patient. Very safe, friendly and professional.
The practice is good but their time management is beyond awful. Every time Ive been in, pre- and during COVID, it takes an insane amount of time to be seen. In the last two months Ive come in twice with each child and the appointment took 2.5 hours. Yesterday Id been waiting for 30 mins to be seen and was only told they were an HOUR behind when I asked, not when I checked in. Being at an eye doctor that long with small children is really difficult, not to mention having to take time away from work to be seen. Please stop scheduling so many people, Ive never been in when they were not insanely behind. The apologizes were weak and did not feel genuine.
Been to a number of places Omer the past few years without going back a second time. This one is a keeper. Efficient check-in process, very clean, thorough exam, & great explanation of results.Eye glass person was exceptional going beyond the call of duty to procure the frames that I was looking for. Even calling the supplier to see if they had the gold frames that I was looking for, which thankfully they did.

Ive been going to Thomas Eye Group since I was a child, and Ive never had anything but a wonderful experience. All the staff is very professional and very accommodating. I know I am in good hands every time I come here! Both my optometrist (Dr.Singh) and the contact specialist answer every question I have, and they take the extra steps to make sure I am comfortable and have what I need.And with COVID 19, I feel safe that every staff member is taking precautions for me. They also enforce masks and check temperatures at the door, which makes an anxiety-ridden person like me happy!
Visited the Woodstock office. The entire experience from start to finish was smooth, streamlined and proficient. Staff was polite, knowledgeable, and always professional. Highly recommend the Woodstock location for your eye care and needs.

The service was really good. The assistant ans well as the doctor were great. The only complaint is that after seeing the doctor and going to to get my prescription, the prescription lady made me go to my car and wait to be called. After more that 30 mins, I had to leave but til now I have not gotten the call.I will be going today to get this resolved.
My oldest son had an eye appointment today. I have a nursing newborn I also brought to the appointment (and had childcare for my other young daughter). They refused to see us because I brought my newborn with me. They offered no other suggestions or options. For a pediatric doctor, I am appalled they would suggest I leave my newborn for an appointment that would be over 2 hours long. I have no childcare options for her. Do not go to this doctor if you’re expecting it to be family friendly. We will never be back.Note that I cannot leave a review on their Facebook page. I must not be the only one with issues if they turned reviews off. I did leave a review on the Moms of Woodstock FB page and promptly had over 20 other moms with bad experiences with this practice, specifically their billing, wait times, and an “infamous” inappropriate male doctor. Sounds like I avoided a bad practice and this will be a blessing in disguise.
I really had a great experience during my visit except when I visited the receptionist, she was not professional. However, every other person was kind and professional.
I had to wait for my appointment (approx. 30 mins.), otherwise I would have give them 5 stars. I made an early appointment (8:40 a.m.) and I was there early. Thats was the only negative part of my visit. Once I got in, my experience was terrific. Very thorough, very professional.
Check in was easy and done via computer by me. Everything was cleaned as soon as it could be. The only reason for 4 stars was the wait. I understand that medical care is unpredictable especially pediatric care. However, spending 2.5 hours at the doctor with only mere minutes spent with the nurses and doctor was too long for my young child. Thankfully our room had a TV with cartoons to pass the time, but even those lost my childs interest during our long wait. Perhaps this is different during non-pandemic times. I did appreciate the separate waiting rooms for adults and children.
Always a great experience with Dr Berman and his whole crew. See you guys in a year with Gods willing. Be safe.

The care I receive is excellent. The reason for the 2 star reduction is due to appointments not on time. People have other commitments in their lives. It is very inconsiderate to make an appointment and then be 45 minutes late. If the patient did that you would call it a no show and bill them.

Doctors visit was great. Optical center for glasses selection was terrible. Waited for several minutes to not be acknowledged and ignored. I left. Will ordered from another company.
My visit proceeded in a timely manner, on schedule . All Covid precautions were observed. I felt that my eye exam was thorough and professional. I liked Dr. Singh - he took time to explain everything and to answer any questions that I had.
I hate leaving bad reviews. Thomas Wye group was very helpful the first couple of times we went for my Dad but today he dealt with very rude people and was turned away. The guy making the appointment was very nice (this is why they got 2 stars) and I was upfront that my father had covid back Olin the middle of December to which they said no problem. As my dad was at the appointment they went through questions and the lady got incredibly rude with him and told him not to come back until he had a negative covid test in hand. So now my dad is currently seeking a new Eye doctor.
While our experience with the doctor was fine we will not be returning to Thomas Eye Group in Woodstock due to their optical department. After 3 weeks (wait time when we place the order was 7-10 business days) we have still not received glasses for my young daughter, and when we called to inquire about the issue it was impossible to get a call back. I had to drive back into the office for a response and update. The experience at the office was very frustrating. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and uninterested in providing any assistance or even an apology for the delay and lack of communication. This matter is still unresolved and even after being assured by the office manager that I would revive an update in a timely manner I have heard no response. I would strongly discourage others from purchasing glasses at this location.

TerribleWe wont bill your vision provider if you have a medical insurance code on your billVSP, one of the largest Vision Insurance Providers in America was incredulous at how ignorant they (TEG) were of their own contracts. Newsflash: One of the key tenants of healthcare insurance is billing accurately and appropriately. The billing department kept giving us and our insurance provider a run around, even when they walked them through line by line on how to do it! Ignorance can be corrected, but obstinance and adherence to the we dont do that... company policy? Too bad it was in the contract you signed with the insurance company to abide by **their** policies as well.Are you of the opinion that they are too good to follow the rules, or too big to need to?
Dr. Singh is absolutely wonderful. Ive worn glasses/contacts for approximately 35 years. In my experience, Dr. Singh has been thr greatest. He is professional, knowledgeable, timely and presents a very caring attitude. He is ever so amazing with my son as well! Tonya, in the contact department, is also a favorite! She has the most delightful personality and mixes it well with her professionalism!
I loved the check-in process! Everyone I came in contact with was very pleasant. Dr. Berman and the technicians that preceded him were very knowledgeable, professional, attentive and so nice. I appreciate my PCP, Dr. Hudson, for recommending them.
The doctor was fantastic. I highly recommend. I felt The contact visit was confusing and only moderately helpful plus it was a separate $75 fee. So I’ve been to other places will you pay a little extra for a contact fitting this was much higher.
The woman who did my eye exam made the whole process wonderful. She was knowledgeable, thorough, and pleasant, and concerned that my prescription be perfect.My Doctor was, as usual, thorough, pleasant, and knowledgeable. As usual he answered all my questions before I even asked them.I felt very confident that I had received the best eye care possible.
Poor customer service!Stopped in to buy frames and the employee in the front said that when she was done with the current customer, she was going to lunch and I would need to come back in an hour.Funny, I took my lunch to come to their location. Needless to say, I did not go back, canceled the exam I had scheduled and went elsewhere.So why not just 1 Star? She was not rude.

The front office staff is terrible! Super rude and huffed and puffed when we asked a question about our insurance. It’s SO hard to find doctors with great office staff, so don’t bother if that’s something important to you.
Dr Berland and his medical staff are amazing!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. I took my son there and he was required to get glasses. When I went to the optical department they were very nice but I had to call back to order his glasses. I could never get a call back or anyone to answer the phones. I had to physically drive back up there and wait to speak to very friendly optician who was completely overwhelmed. I ordered the glasses but still have not recieved them. I have been trying to call with no answer once again. It’s very frustrating because I was told he needed glasses immediately. It’s taken 3 weeks and still no glasses. I think optician is overwhelmed and needs a second optician. That is my reason for 3 stars because of this issue.
Outstanding service and professionalism on my first visit.
I believe the Doctor that examined me was far to aggressive now that Ive had time to rumiinate over the fact that he scheduled me for a Iridotomy without giving me all the facts. I found out from reading the Internet that the success rate of this surgery has a success rate from 50 to 65 percent which means one half to one third result in failure. The risk is that the hold made by the laser will fill up and the procedure will have to be repeated in one to three years. Also, he did not tell me how imminent is glaucoma to develope. He said I would go blind if I didnt have the surgery. According to the input Ive read, this is not wholly the truth. I will go bliind is glaucoma develops and is not treated. There was much more he could have told me that I had to find out by research and obtaining a second opinion from Marietta Eye Clinic.
I am so grateful and blown away by how accommodating the woman on the front desk is. Her hospitality was genuinely surprising. I had an emergency on Monday with my eye and walked in without an appointment. I wasnt even a patient there but I knew the office was covered in my insurance. I cant thank you all enough for accommodating me the way you did.
I felt very comfortable with Dr. Berman he had to remove that stat growth from my eye no pain I didn’t take him for a few minutes and I was on my way great job I hope I don’t have to do it again but if I do I would be happy to have him do it
Worst place ... doctor is good ... Support staff are useless ... I asked for PD and they asked me to go to front office where they sell eye glasses ... i want an accurate PD from doctor for my kids, not some one from front office ( messed up PD can cause headaches and dizziness) ... Go here if you have no choice
Staff are nice and knowledgeable. Dr. Kaufman performed detached retina eye surgery in the beginning of the year and it went well. Then Dr. Berman did the cataract surgery. Not crazy about the check-in system.
I had my first eye cataract surgery Tuesday. All of the surgery staff were friendly and helpful. The surgery went well, and the new lens is amazing. I find it difficult to believe how well I can see now. I highly recommend Dr. Berman to anyone needing an Ophthalmologist.

Absolutely terrible customer service and patient intake. If this was a one-time occurrence, I would be more sympathetic. However, this was my second visit and it happened both times. I called in to make an appointment as an existing patient. The call center had no information on me although I have been there many times over the years. I finally get an appointment after 25 minutes on hold while they found me, I arrive at the Woodstock office and they have no record of my appointment, Im required to start all over again and then get worked into the schedule which meant I was there for 1.5 hours! This happened twice within two weeks. They have a captive audience in Towne Lake and could care less about patient experience. Will never be back!!
Dr. Berman is great. Staff really takes care of you.

I came to have a cataract check up but unfortunately Dr Berman has diagnosed me with having pink eyes. I was then examined and given a prescription. The staff treated me very nice, professionally and the office looks great and spacious. I’m impressed !!! I’m definitely coming back for my cataract surgery process.

In spite of the negative reviews that Ive seen, my experience with Thomas Eye Group was exceptional. My appointment was scheduled for 8:25am. I was there in the office by 8:00am. I signed in and started looking at the eyeglass frames to get some idea of what I wanted. Within 15 minutes, I was called back for beginning the eye exam. I was finished with the eye exam, the choosing of frames, and the check out by 9:45am. Rosa assisted me with the choosing of frames, and she was stellar as was Dr. Singh and his sweet assistant. Im ashamed to admit that I cannot recall her name, but she was a doll. I have been seeing these eye doctors for the last few years, and I cannot recommend them more highly.
