Horrible Experience! I was sold a lemon in January. After having my Suburban for only 4 months, the transmission needed to be replaced as well as the engine. The warranty company (GWC) is horrible to work with as well. Wish I never would have went here!
A couple of good guys. Even worked with me with my budget. Small lot but nice selection.
Let me start with a little background on myself. I currently work at the Midwest’s second largest light duty truck and SUV dealership. With over 300 trucks for sale and a full service center. I have worked here for over 4 years in both the sales and service department as well as being a car mechanic my whole life. My father, who came with too purchase the vehicle, is a GM master certified technician and owner of several automotive repair facilities in the area. We both know these trucks inside and out down to the last bolt. The vehicle I bought was a 2005 Chevy Suburban 2500 with a 6.0L. I found the truck on Autotrader and called immediately. After a few pleasant conversations and phone calls I was feeling happy with the truck and service. They sent pictures (although late from some lady because Scott, my idiot salesmen, cant work a smartphone) The pictures looked very nice and the underbody looked immaculate for a vehicle with 135K on it. Then things started to turn downhill. I asked where the vehicle was from on one phone call, Scott said from Arizona. I asked again on another phone call and Scott said it was from Florida. I grew nervous but the pictures looked good so we agreed on a very high price assuming the vehicle was in as mint condition as the pictures showed. My father and I drive 4:45 hours to Grand Rapids to find a vehicle that was not mint condition. It was from Washington with a “clean” Carfax. Scott assured me that this vehicle was never in an accident. After further inspection and as you can see from the posted pictures, it had definitely been in an accident. Pass side fender bolts all hand tight, driver side fender shifted back so it was hitting the driver door, brand new front bumper, fog lights, lower valance, and headlights, and a USED hood. Dents and scratches throughout the vehicle and the interior carpet was all spray painted with over spray on everything. Driver side seat had been hillbilly fixed…..the list goes on but I has PISSED! Anyway Scott, or anybody else, never mentioned any of it. Here’s the kicker, Scott has no idea how to right up the paper work so it had to be filled out ahead of time. I couldn’t even negotiate the agreed upon high price because he couldn’t change it and would have to come back on the next day the office lady was there. After A LOT of fighting and Scott blowing up in my face I said F*** it and bought it anyway because the underbody was clean, had all the options I wanted, and I know a very good body guy. No thank you, no full tank of gas, so spare key, no nothing when I left. BUT, he did make one huge mistake, when we were doing the paper work I found an old auction report in the deal jacket, that had all the complains I had written on it. They knew about every dent scratch and issue this car had a never told me about it!!!! That picture is included.Long story short it also did NOT have a clean title with the vehicle. I tried to get it registered but it was a repo at one point and had to jump through more hoops (2 overnight pieces of mail that were 4 days late and 4 trips to the DMV) to make that happen. To the fault of the office lady. Although she was friendly. Its finally over with and the truck is now build for overland travel and finally in my name. I was lied to multiple times, screamed at, used, and taken advantage of by this place. Not only would I never buy again, I BEG you to look elsewhere. I’m sure Scott with have some interesting response to this review and to that I say, F*** YOU, all the information I stated was correct and true. Please go buy a truck from a dealership that is honest and treats you right, like Autoland Outlets in Roscoe, IL. Thanks and happy shopping! :)
Took a friend there to buy a van. Excellent service.
Great spot to buy a car
This was the most amazing customer service experience ever!! I walked in thinking it would take a super long time and be very stressful. But not only did Brandon make the experience simple, easy, and fast I also walked out with a beautiful new car that runs great and looks Awesome! If you are looking for a new car, this is the ONLY place to go!
I had an appointment today with Brandon to look at a 2002 Dodge ram. I have been in contact with him since Friday and made an appointment for today for 330pm and he texted me again today to see if I can come in earlier which I told him 12pm. I came in before 12pm and was looking at the truck to find out he sold it before 12pm. Very unprofessional of him to sell that vehicle before an appointment. Poor business. Dont go to that company. Very unprofessional and not loyal. Sharks is what they are.
Purchased a vehicle from Brandon he was very knowledgeable about his products and I got a great deal! I will recommend everyone I know to purchase from MD Auto Sales!
Great price and pleasant negotiations. Our salesman Brandon was low-key guy who was great to work with. I would not hesitate buying from here in the future.
I purchased my truck from Brandon at MD in June and I cannot say enough great things about the experience! At most of the dealers I went to, it felt like I was being circled by vultures that were just waiting to attack! Not at MD. Brandon greeted me and let me look around, when I was ready to talk, he was there. We worked out the details of the sale and I drove off in my truck. The whole experience was the best I’ve ever had buying a vehicle. I will definitely be back when my wife needs a new vehicle in the near future and again when it’s time for my next purchase!
Brandon and Zack are THE guys to work with. Having prior automotive/dealership experience, I know just how hard it is to find salesman that are genuine people. Not only did they offer an amazing experience, but answered at least 20-25 phone calls over 3 days with nothing but professionalism. Didn’t have to haggle at all for the vehicle I bought due to already being properly priced, and so far it has been an amazing ride. Best experience I have had at a dealer. Would recommend to anyone.P.S. Used cars are, by tendency, high risk purchases. Always check the CarFax, inspect the engine bay/fluids, and underneath the vehicle prepurchase. If you don’t know how to locate issues, bring someone who does. It would have more than likely saved several of the previous reviewers of the business. Car salesman are NOT mechanics, they may not have the knowledge to locate an issue before it is noticeable to the untrained eye.
Just looking... love the responses to the reviews lol
Brandon at MD was great. He took the time to listen to what I wanted and found me a perfect car in my budget. I waited a few weeks to review in case anything came up wrong with the car but I’ve been nothing but satisfied. I highly recommend. Thank you Brandon, I’ll be back!
Brandon gives excellent service all throughout the buying process! Thanks for my beautiful Honda!!
We were looking for a vehicle forever, unable to find something reliable for our family of 4, in our price range. Brandon went out of his way and even called us when he found something that he thought we would want. Excellent service. A++ Will be returning
I was shopping for used Yukons or Suburbans and came across this place. The trucks were higher retail but very clean, gone through and detailed. Most looked like southern vehicles. The girl that was running the desk there was extremely friendly.I ended up buying a much older one private party, but I will be returning here for my next purchase to see the inventory. There is value in paying a bit more for something shipped up from down south.
Terrible business, scheduled an appointment came in today and the vehicle I was looking at they sold without even contacting me as well as letting someone test drive it didn’t call to notify me and do paperwork and didn’t even call then, traveling a long distance to be told no it’s sold and being very rude, unprofessional and terrible buisness practices.
Update on 2003 Honda Pilot: One and a half months after purchasing the car here, the transmission went out. Honda Pilot, just turned over 130,000 miles. $5400 for a rebuilt transmission installed. Dealership wont help with the expense. May not be their fault, but they got it at an auction, but told us it was a trade in at a big dealership in Grand Rapids. We know it was bought at auction because of Car Fax. This is the first Honda we ever bought. I guess what I am saying is, I wouldnt buy a car from a corner car dealership in Grand Rapids, or anywhere, again. Wont buy a used Honda again either. Couldnt be more dissatisfied.
DO NOT PURCHASE HERE! Read all the reviews people, many have been ripped off. The vehicle we bought for our son was burning oil daily (but not dripping onto the pavement) It is not possible that MD Auto did not know this. We taught our son the basics of car care, discovering the car to be down 2 quarts within a few days. Within 6 weeks and less than 500 miles the engine seized. DO NOT SHOP HERE AND DO NOT SIGN THE AGREEMENT to arbitration--this means if you have a dispute with MD Auto, you have to PAY up front to go through arbitration, thereby, avoiding a small claims court ruling. DO NOT TRUST MD AUTO SALES. Drive right on by and purchase a car somewhere else! ZERO STARS!
Found a great used car at this dealership! Awesome staff and management! Check them out :)
The truck we bought (2005 Lexus GX470) had a solid carfax backed up with great service records, it is straight, no rust. My wife loves it.Stood up to my scrutiny and I know what I am looking at.They were tough negotiators but they just believed in their product. I can respect that.I looked over inventory I had no intention of buying. This dealer looks for solid out of state rust free vehicles and it shows.Scott did a great job. No pressure but kept the sale alive. I am not a salesman friendly kind of customer. He stood tall.Kudos Scott. This is how you keep a small business going. That is not easy these days folks.Do your due diligence, THESE CARS ARE USED, but give these guys a chance. They care!Good job!
Need a good used car, stop out and see Brandon. Hes the man!
If there was 0 star option, thats where I would rate this lot. After 3 days of shopping thru the majority of the lots in the area, I can tell you that there are 50 dealers within a mile of there who are far more deserving of your business than this place.
HORRIBLE. called on a friday of a holiday weekend and was told a car was still avialable but were closed for the weekend. Went in the next business day. First I was never acknowledged or greeted. When I asked about the car, I was blown off and told it was sold. When asked if there was any other cars i just got a stare from a grumpy old man behind the desk looking at a TV. Very unprofessional and rude. And i had 5000 in my wallet to spend. Clearly didnt want it.
I would recommend calling beforehand as the listed hours may not be accurate. I visited on a Saturday to review a vehicle and found a note on the door about not being open on that Saturday.
Again I say, GREAT!
Thank you Brandon for hooking me up on a car! Was right in my budget and you even got me financed!
So far good
Friendly staff who cares about their customers.
Not professional
Good place
