I walked in with my husband who had an appointment and they scheduled me for an eye exam without an appointment. I was able to take care of my exam and select a frame. What an amazing place and the staff was so kind and generous. I work for FedEx and on route I lost a contact and my only pair of glasses I had with me were broken and I was lucky enough to be right there and the manager was so sweet, she just jumped right on it and fixed them and even cleaned them. How refreshing to still find great customer service and a beautiful store as well. Thank you ladies!!!!

Sasha is A+mazing! She has an amazing style sense and set me up with the perfect frames to try on in the first minute of browsing.The doctors are extremely knowledgeable and are also very educational, which his hard to find now days. They explained the reasons for every test they ran and the also gave some great insight on a few industry secrets. With all this great service, the whole process was streamlined for efficiency due to the pandemic. Everything was sanitized behind me and I was in and out in a jiffy.

This business is EXCELLENT! I was traveling from out of town and my only set of contacts tore. I always travel with a spare set, but this one time, I forgot to pack a pair. Let me start by saying that Dr. Minnick is very a thorough optometrist. She is caring through the entire examination and really cares about the health of your eyes. If you need glasses, this is the place to get them! Let me say that you will only get high quality frames and lenses from Fine Eyewear. The staff at the South Austin location are very friendly and they keep the place sparkling clean.

Fine Eyewear & Eye Care has repaired my sunglasses for me on several occasions. The friendly staff goes above and beyond to make sure that I dont have to return anytime soon! They are courteous, informative, and welcoming. Despite the fact that they dont typically carry my brand, they always find a solution so that I leave with my shades on my head! Came to Fine Eyewear & Eye Care for an evaluation of my wifes eye glasses after a recent accidental fall! Brie Ann was very helpful on the phone before coming and that was the reason that I came. Once there, Brie Ann was extremely helpful in evaluating and fixing a minor repair for my wifes eyeglasses! Kimberley was also extremely nice and professional! I cant express how much I enjoyed my visit here. Walked in for my appointment and was greeted immediately by the receptionists. I instantly knew that coming to this smaller, local store instead of going to Costco was the best decision I made for my eye exam and purchase of new eye glasses.Their customer service was outstanding. I would know since I also work in that field currently. I felt welcomed the entire time and didnt feel like I was bothering them in anyway. The nurse (assistant?) who took me in the back for the initial eye checkups was very clear on explaining on what she was doing each step of the way. I was then sent to the next room to see the optometrist, Dr Minnick, a wonderful lady who obviously enjoys what she does. The eye exam was quick and painless! She was very informative and answered any of my questions that I had with ease.As I was waiting for my eyes to be dilated fully, I got to pick out a pair of glasses with Sasha, another great lady who helped me pick out a pair of frames that fit my face the best (and the receptionist also chimed in on what looked good or not too! Much appreciated!). I tried several different pairs, not feeling rushed at all the entire time. I spoke with Sasha before coming to Fine Eyewear regarding if they had Matsuda eyewear in stock, (hard to find, Japanese handcrafted frames) and I was delighted to hear that they did.I eventually picked and bought the frames that fit the best and went back to the exam room once more to finish the last bit of the eye exam since my eyes were fully dilated by then.All in all, if you want the small boutique experience with amazing customer service, super knowledgeable staff, and super high quality eyewear, this is the place to go! I definitely will be coming back here for my eye exams in the future.Thank you everyone at Fine Eyewear for a great time and I cant wait to pick up my new eyewear next week!

Great service, but is taking nearly 4 weeks to get my glasses.

I had an irritated eye and just moved to Austin so I was not really sure who to see. I was walking by Fine Eyewear, in downtown Austin and I was told that Dr. Minnick would take a quick look at my eye. I was a bit nervous being new in the area and not really certain of who Dr. Minnick was or if she could even help me. Well, she did!!!! It has been 2 days and my eye is great. I could not be happier. I will be a patient of Fine Eyewear forever and the bonus for me, they have great frames, a wonderful staff and they all certainly know what they are doing. I highly recommend going there.

I broke my glasses at a conference. The staff helped me immediately, dropping ehat they were doing to help me. They worked hard to fix them on the spot. My glasses had a string holding the lense and it was tricky to replace. They fixed my glasses and said the service was complimentary. I was thrilled. These guys are experts at what they do and genuinely care about you. Go see them.

Dr. Minnick is by orders of magnitude the best Dr. of Optometry I have ever seen. I thought she was an Ophthalmologist during my first exam only to discover that she was not, but now learn that she has a lot of similar trailing and experience. No wonder I thought so. No Ophthalmologist or Optometrist has ever spent that much time with me trying to dial in the perfect correct for my vision issue. No Optometrists has ever given me an ophthalmological level exam and consultation. I could not possibly give a stronger recommendation for eye care.

Man do they do a fine job. On top of the Fantastic selection, the customer service and knowledge are next level.

I love going to Fine Eyewear & Eye Care! Dr. Minnick is always patient and kind. Her exams are extremely thorough. It is obvious that she doesn’t skip any details, making sure that your eyes are healthy and as comfortable as possible in your glasses and contacts. I always enjoy learning about the science behind my healthcare, and Dr. Minnick clearly and enthusiastically answered all of my questions: anything from how a healthy retina should look, to how the diagnostic machines work.Beside the excellent medical service, the staff is also exceptional. They made sure that I understood how my payment would be split between my copay and insurance and exactly what the charges would be. I’ve made 4 pairs of glasses with Fine Eyewear, 3 eyeglasses and 1 prescription sunglass, and I’m thrilled with all of them. Each time, the staff patiently guided me through selecting a frame. They offered honest opinions and even suggested some styles that I wouldn’t have chosen out myself, but I ultimately loved. Each of my pairs of glasses has its own distinct style, and I love that I can easily swap between them depending on how I want to express myself that day.Overall, I highly recommend Fine Eyewear & Eye Care. And the coffee is great too!
