These guys were great! The entire experience was fantastic, I was able to complete the forms beforehand and have a smooth exam.

Care aspects of the visit were thorough and professional. Dr Lio’s exam covered all of the bases, and she was honest and compassionate advising me that I need to consider cataract surgery sooner rather than later.I was not impressed, however, with my being kept waiting almost 40 minutes after my appointment time with no heads up from the staff. A phone call would have allowed me to run an errand before I came in. I understand that schedules go awry, but an alert would have been more professional.

I recently beat cancer which pretty much bankrupted me. After cancer I found out that I have Lupus and started a drug that can cause blindness and needed to get my eyes checked and I really need glasses so I went to these guys. When they told me that its going to cost hundreds for reading glasses and this is with the top of the line Federal eye insurance, I almost fell over and decided that I would have to get glasses at Costco or someplace less expensive. I called once to ask for a copy of my prescription and they never sent it. I called again and only received my husbands so I called again and while I was nice, she was rude and literally hung up on me. I would go someplace else.

Dr Steckman and staff are amazing! Prompt, professional, keep you informed and give you all the info and options to make good decisions.

Scheduling my appointment was rockier than the actual appointment that took place. I feel that the person scheduling me was a bit impatient with me (the person who answered my call was absolutely lovely!) however, when I got to my appointment the staff was very kind and helpful. The doctor was great, and I was eligible for their Ortho-K lens program which I was very much looking forward to! The doctors have access to technology that makes the appointment a much easier and faster experience. I did not leave the clinic with any questions, and I am glad I made the switch from my previous eye clinic ☆

I had an excellent experience with Cascade Eye Care. I have glaucoma and Dr Swihart gave me a thorough exam. The office staff is very friendly and efficient. Glad I found them.

My exam experience was okay, but the glasses were HORRIBLY overpriced. My first priority was prescription safety glasses, so I went to the location my employer uses. They were completely wrong. I could not see a thing. The store remade them. Still wrong. So they suggested I get another exam. I had to pay out of pocket because it had only been 2 months. BAM! My prescription from Cascade was COMPLETELY wrong. I will never go back there.

Made an appointment for myself and my daughter. I needed my contact prescription renewed and my daughter is having trouble seeing the white board at school. I was told the exam fee was $130. No other info was disclosed.Upon arriving and checking in I was told that they want an extra $39 apiece for an eye test the dr. recommended. I said no thanks and this wasn’t mentioned when I made my appointment. I was then informed that it was either pay for the test or have our eyes dilated. I said no thanks we don’t need them dilated. The two people working at the front desk started giving me an ear full. Something about it being a requirement of the State Optometrist Board. I’d had enough at that point. I’ve had a yearly exam for 30+ years to renew my contact prescription. I’ve never been forced to have my eyes dilated or pay for extra procedures up front. If the doctor finds something during an exam that needs additional testing that totally makes sense. I gathered my 6 year old and said I’ll find another eye care professional. I was then informed that they were going to bill me $50 for a late cancellation. Even though we were on time and the only reason we decided to take our business else where was because they tried to hit us with undisclosed fees and unnecessary medical procedures.Lo and behold, I call another provider in Bend and ask very specific questions about fees and required procedures. They asked if I was diabetic. I said no. They told me no need for dilation-hmm. They were also less expensive.

I have gone to Cascade I care for my glasses for many years and I have never been disappointed. Everyone is so friendly and I have nothing else but good things to say

AVOID THIS EYE CLINIC - They are extremely disorganized and have terrible customer service. After sending me an email that its time for me to schedule my appointment on December 6th, 2020 I promptly called them to schedule my appointment. Upon calling the office they told me they could not schedule my appointment because their system was updating but they would take down my name and number and they would call me back. 24 hours go by and I still had not received a call back from their clinic, so I called them to schedule it again. Upon calling back, they told me that the system was still updating but they would schedule me for 12/18/20 at 3pm. Appointment was then scheduled. On 12/15/20 they called me and sent a text confirming my appointment, and I confirmed it. On 12/17/20 at 4:30 PM they called me telling me they could not find me with my insurance provider, and they asked for very BASIC information such as my full name and date of birth which they ALREADY had. After a 10 minute call they finally found me. Appointment was confirmed for the following day at 3:00 PM. I arrived promptly and 5 minutes before my appointment. I entered the lobby and the front desk lady rudely told me to sanitize my hands with another bottle as the bottle by the door was empty. I complied. She then told me that I needed to wait. After about 10 minutes of waiting she comes out and tells me that I cannot do my appointment today because my insurance doesnt allow it until January 6th. I have been with this eye clinic for 3 years and have used the same insurance company with them. Im a busy professional and had to change my work schedule to accommodate this. I asked the lady if they could see me and charge me in January and they would not do this. She then proceeds to tell me their system is still updating... A two week computer update? There is obviously a deeper issue with this office going on. She then tried to get me to pay for the appointment $200 out of pocket, EVEN THOUGH I have insurance and have used it with them a number of different times. I requested the appointment be comped for their mistake and she tried to make a dozen excuses and blame the problem on me. I requested to see the doctor to discuss this issue with him, but I was denied. The staff in this office are the most unprofessional and untrained health care workers Ive had the experience of dealing with. I would not place my eye care in the hands of this office if you are looking for an eye clinic. Be sure to read the other negative reviews and take your eye health elsewhere!

Aside from being overpriced, I received the wrong prescription (do t think it was intentionally) from the Doctor when I decided to go elsewhere for my glasses.

Ive been getting eye exams for 30+ years and this one was the best EVER. They have the latest equipment and provide really great feedback.. .Id never had a doctor take me through my eye images in such detail, it was fascinating! The doctor is fantastic, and the office staff is amazing too. And I must mention the office dog... Charlie is just the best! This is the place to go for no pain, no fear, really comfortable eye exams in Bend!

Top notch folks. Was passing through the area from the East Coast and had managed to get something in my eye three days prior. They got me in super quick on a Saturday morning and had me as good as new in 30 mins. Highly recommend

So thoroughly disappointed in this place. Gouging for money and not disclosing that a specific test not covered by insurance and then charged over $300 for glasses and that was after our insurance was used.While the proper form was signed the language used to say the test was going to be performed did not state insurance didnt cover the test. So of course my son proceeded with the test.I called because there was still an ADDITIONAL $50 that was owed and when I voiced my displeasure all I got was sorry it must have been a miscommunication. If I were that business I would have credited the $50.They just lost 3 new patients!!!

I have always had an awesome experience here! I go there regularly for my exams and they are always great: efficient, thorough, friendly, answer all of my questions, and go out of their way to help. Recently I also went in for some eye irritation; they got me into the doctor quickly to address the issue and did extra work to determine the insurance piece of it and communicate to me. No complaints.

I broke my glasses last night and only had enough contacts to make it through the weekend. Not only were they able to get me in for a same day new patient appointment on a Saturday, but it was the BEST eye exam I have had in my 15 years of impaired eyesight. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the Dr. took the time to answer all my questions. They even fit me with better contacts than I had come in with. I would highly recommend this office, I will most definitely continue my care here.

Dr. Terry Steckman is clearly one one the most professional, courteous and conscientious Doctors that you can go to, (in this great town) regarding your eye care!His eye exams are meticulous and thorough and his follow up is complete.....right down to the proper fit of my glasses. Dr. Steckman is a great. He knows his stuff and has always been able to answer any question I have with a thorough response. They have even gone out of their way to help me afford the best contacts. I have glasses and contacts, I recommend them for sure. They also have a huge selection of eye-wear.

I called to get my eyeglasses prescription from an eye checkup I had here in 2019. What dumbfounded me - I found out it was 2.75 on both eyes - not at all like my prior eyeglass prescriptions Ive had throughout my life. At the time, I had their glasses dept fill what I thought was a real prescription. Heres the shocker - They charged me over $200 to put basically readers in my personally frames. HAD I KNOWN THE PRESCRIPTION WAS BASIC READERS, i WOULD HAVE NEVER HAD THEM PUT $200 READER LENSES IN MY GLASSES.

My entire family goes to Cascade eyecare and we could not be happier with our care. And the selection of frames is amazing! I am not good at selecting frames and the optical staff was great at helping me pick out frames the I will feel great in. We are all for sure going back!

Dr. Steckman is great! The most thorough eye exam I have ever had, and great attention to detail. The staff is great and very friendly. They take a lot of time and make you feel like youre their only customer. Highly recommended!

I was referred to Dr. Steckman when we moved here, by my long-time and wonderful optometrist in Portland. I was very happy to find Dr. Steckmans style similar to what I was accustomed to: he is thorough and obviously very competent, and he listens to concerns and takes the time to address all questions. He understands the issues around the aging eye, cataract development/surgery, and post laser issues, which all apply to me. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend!

Alright so Ive been going to different eye doctors for a while now and I have to say, this has literally been the best experience of my life with an optometrist. The office is amazingly clean and modern with friendly staff and the BEST CARE POSSIBLE. Dr Steckman was so incredibly thorough and kind. I was heading to Alaska the same week and even though my particular specialty kind of contact lenses werent available, he had them rushed in so I was able to properly see for my trip. The thoroughly cleaned and even repaired the glasses I had, and he gave me a same day set of similar lenses that worked fantastically. ....I dont know what else there is to say...this was the best of the best. Also, for someone who doesnt have insurance, their prices were an absolute DEAL! I was in and out same day. Not to mention there is an adorable little Australian Collie office puppers (Charlie?). Yeah....Ill never go to a different eye doctor again....ever. THANK YOU CASCADE EYECARE!

Extremely happy with the care and great service Ive received over the years from Dr. Steckman and his staff. Everyone is friendly, professional and I feel super confident putting my eyes and vision in their care.

I have been going to Dr. Steckman for over 20 years and I have always gotten more than expected in eyecare and glasses/contacts. He was also my follow up doctor after I had Lasik surgery. He is a very caring and professional doctor and I would recommend him any day.
