I often shop at Best Buy whenever I need almost any type of electronics. The staff at the Crystal Lake store is always very helpful. The prices could be lower but they offer free next day delivery from FedEx. So it equals out as opposed to Amazon. I think youll be happy. Check it out.
Went into Best Buy a few days ago. There was no one around or available to help me. I went to go look at microwaves to buy one. I found one I wanted and again, no one was helping me. I stood around for awhile waiting until finally I told my mom to go get somebody. It was not until then that an associate spoke into his headset telling someone we’re getting impatient. So a guy came and I showed him the microwave I wanted. He went in the back and brought out a box. I looked around for a stand or a cart and Best Buy did not have anything. So, I went upfront to go pay. One single register light was on but there were no cashiers up front at check out at all. Not one single cashier or associate. So I waited awhile again. An associate stood by the front doors. I asked him to please help us. He told me he could not help us until someone allowed him in. I said okay so what’s more important? Helping us or standing there doing nothing? There’s not one single cashier up here. He stood there ignoring me. Then, another guy came to finally check us out. The microwave rang up as the wrong price. He told me the other guy grabbed the wrong one. He had me follow him and went in back to grab the right one. We went back to the front to check out again. I wanted to pay with my dads Best Buy card. The cashier then gave me a hard time telling me even though my dad gave me permission to use it that I could not use it. Finally, I paid. Horrible experience, no help, no one around, no cashiers, stupid associates, and no associates to help or assist at all anywhere.
They had a TV that no one else local carried (a 39 TV). The call system is terrible, but thats a corporate issue not the local store. The attendant at the front door was quick to help and point me to an associate, Don, who assisted me get the TV and promptly ring up my purchase. All-in-all a quick, convenient experience.
We had Emma help us buy our item and OMG, she is hands down one of the BEST and most knowledgeable staff member at this location that we have dealt with. So sweet and seriously the best!
My samsung earbuds+ stopped working all of the sudden. I brought them in to geek squad hoping that they would be able to send them out for repair. Everyone was SUPER helpful and kind. They ended up replacing them for the newer version, which I feel was above and beyond. I wish I paid attention to the names of the people that helped me, because they were so nice. I absolutely recommend this location for anything you need!
I walked in to pick up my phone that I preordered. Greeted by first employee and sent to cell phone area. They had a couple employees being “trained” so it looked like there was more than needed. They should still acknowledge you however even in training. Luckily a employee named Don came over to assist me with transferring all my phone info. Very personable and professional. If he didn’t come assist me probably would have been waiting a while I was starting to get frustrated. Thanks don!

Had to return an item yesterday and was expecting it to be a far more involved process than it was. Super quick procedure, was greeted at the door when I came in and shown where to go. Excellent customer service.
Delivery was set for today. Apparently BB owns one truck and it broke down. Obviously they lied to me about the reason. I called the store to reschedule, no one at the store to take calls. Call the 800# and took over a half hour to reach a live person (probably not in the states) to reschedule delivery. Absolutely horrible experience. The TV was no great deal. Available everywhere for the same price. Lesson learned, will never shoo Worst Buy again.
I came in today to pick up a online order for a cell phone 6/13/21 and when I walked in I was greeted with a lady right within 5 ft asking “what I needed and if she could help me find anything” and I said no thank you I know where I’m going and proceeded to the cell phone department and stood in line (not knowing to pick up phones in the front) but she proceeded to call security because I did not let her direct me where I needed to go. That is not the way to treat customers calling security because they didn’t let you tell them what or where to go. Best Buy is really getting worse and worse customer service, and then you try to call the store and the crystal lake location has an automated message saying “this location is not taking calls at this time”.. that’s again poor customer service.
Good place to shop. We bought a years worth of Geek Squad service. They successfully fixed our PC crashing problem. Had to reload Windows 10 O.S.But... I had a Geek Squad question. That store isnt taking calls!!? Then they give the national phone number to call instead. The national office says call the local store. This is POOR service... and especially for service we purchased.
Nice big store with everything youd expect and more. The manager greeted us and made us feel welcome.. The guy who helped us understand the different specs on the HDTVs is the real MVP here. Didnt pressure is to buy but well definitely be back.
My family was in need of 3 new screen protectors, one of which was a warranty replacement from an earlier purchase. HENRY from the mobile department helped us out and I have to say the protectors could not have been installed any more perfectly than they were. I had had trouble in the past (it took the Best Buy reps 3 tries (ruining 2 protectors and requiring me to go to another store because they ran out) to get our last one on, and then, it was barely acceptable), so I went in with some trepidation. If the warranty replacement didnt come out good, I wasnt going to proceed with the other two I needed. I am happy to report the job could not have been done better and, in the future, I will be sure to get Henry to help us out for any future needs. This was at the Best Buy store in Crystal Lake, IL.
The only positive I can say is the gentleman at the door and the other at Customer Service were polite and upfront, which I appreciate.I came in to see about an issue with the hinges on my laptop and was told the Geek Squad wouldnt even look at it for less than $85 (nevermind try to fix anything). Atrocious.
David greeted us at the door, we told him what we were after. He directed us, specifically. After we searched around, he finished with his current customer, and took good care of us.

I went into Best Buy in Crystal Lake recently looking to buy a new Samsung 65 TV.I worked with sales person Marshall Wright. He was a wealth of information, which I greatly appreciated. I really liked the brand new 2021 Sony 65 TV. Next I meet Mitch Towbridge who just happen to be in the store. Mitch does in-home (free) consultations. What a pleasure to work with Mitch answered all my questions and made sure that all my current equipment would work with my new TV.I did buy the new Sony 65 TV and a new stand for it to sit on!I cant wait for installation date for the Geek Squad to set/hook everything for me!
Its Bestbuy, I was looking for a new TV the staff seemed knowledgeable and pleasant. A few items were on special (Christmas in July sale).Most TVs were $1000+ nice but to large for the room Im shopping for.
If you need some electronic item to be good quality, Best Buy is still best.
Found everything I need with sales like prices that cant be beat! And speaking of beats, my new Receiver rocks awesomeness with so many amazing features too. Thank you Best Buy for having such knowledgeable staff so kind at heart. They really seem to take my purchases and happiness personal. Thats the golden touch right their! For all my electronics and more, Best Buys my store.

Not a very friendly store. I tried to buy a cell phone there years ago. The salesman was not very friendly.that was the last time I was in the store till last week when I went in there to look for a case for my LG phone I walked in the door I asked the guy at the door if they carry cases for LG phone he said no so I immediately asked if I could go out the way I came in Ono he said you have to walk around and go out the exit doorI promise I will never go in that store again!
I was waiting for more than 25 minutes to get help and they didnt offer me any help. Very bad customer service.
Had my vehicle there for almost 7 hours and they failed to hook up the Sirius XM correctly which seemed like a pretty easy job. I tried calling but the store isn’t receiving phone calls which seems kind of fishy. I live 45 minutes away so I wasn’t going to drive back there just to be told I have to make an appointment. Took it to a local car electronic shop and they fixed it right away for me. Done with Best Buy
Ordered a phone holder. Email says it will be received the next day, but it was never received. Tracking number says it was returned. I call customer service and they say that the Best Buy van driver could not deliver it because the establishment was closed. The establishment is my house! The only resolution they could offer is a refund or to have me pick it up in the store. What a useless online service.

Helpful staff. I had a question about the ring doorbell and they guy really knew his stuff and he was right because I bought it, hooked it up and it worked as expected.

Bad system for helping customers. You have to be entered into some que and they send someone to help you and you wait forever. I finally was tired of waiting and left. Find any other Best Buy to shop. I was at 3 other Best Buys which did not have this unbelievably ineffective customer service process

Used to be the place to go however their time has passed.What prompted me to write this review you ask?I just received an email from Best Buy Marketing titled Pre-order PlayStation 5 now! So I click on the link wondering how Best Buy was able to get PlayStation 5 pre-orders before anyone else...And then I find out. They dont. Its Coming soon. Of course it is. It is everywhere.I used to shop at Best Buy weekly... havent been able to say that for a long time. And dont get me started on the Geek Squad.

I appreciate them returning the TV that was delivered but it took them awhile to process it due to serial number not in a good place on the back. But management found it in my email very quick. However, I bought a brand new 📺 and having it delivered. The reason Im really writing this review because the 1st salesman did not stay around to complete my questions and walked away. Since theyre not getting commission the customer service is limited. Thats 😥!
Purchased New TV and there was some damage. After calling the store the issue was resolved very promptly. Several months later one remote was not working, again I called the manager and issue was resolved promptly. The customer service we experienced with thisstore and their manager Has met and exceeded all expectations! Honestly, I would highly recommend.

This Best Buy, like all others I assume, just opened stores to customers again (although they have been providing curbside service during the entire COVID-19 pandemic.) The catch is you have to make an appointment. You are only able to do this by going online, after which in my case I received a phone call from a manager who asked me more details about what I needed and who walked me through what to expect. This included social distancing guidelines and details of how they apply it in their stores. Basically the salesperson and I would be mostly alone every stage of my visit. My appointment was for 30 minutes but ended up running maybe 40 or 45. (He allowed me to check out something else at the end which I took him up on.) The young man, Andrew, who took care of me, said he averages taking care of three or four customers a day. I wanted to try an Android tablet hands-on and was planning to maybe do a little more research later, but decided to buy it then and there because of all the effort this took. I got a 10% rebate, so I was happy. I would not recommend going in for a casual reason, but only for a specific purpose youre willing to act on. In the end, I was impressed by how careful and well executed It all was. I felt like I was in the 1950s getting full service at a gas station.
Had a stove, dish washer, also a washer and dryer installed by Carlos and Sabino. They were very professional and very thorough in what they were going to do. They took there time, great job guys thank you for making my experience hassle free. Really appreciate it. Thank you. Also would like to add to the great list of workers are Adam and Kenzie, they work the install department in the back of the store. They are honest and a hard working crew. Will definitely be coming back if needed.

I like the store and some of the prices, but since the pandemic having us check in at the door just to have someone help you out to buy something is just ridiculous. If you dont want help then you can shop around, but nobody will help you unless you sign in at the front door to be put on a list.

Had a bad experience today. We were TOLD to check-in, in order to get help by a sales associate. They had us waiting for about half an hour, and then started turning off the lights because they were closing 😮. No one ever came to meet us or at least let us know if we should come back another time. We were trying to buy an 85 TV, so its not like we could just take it off the shelf. When I went to ask if they were closing, the guy handling the check-ins was unprofessional and all he said was, he was busy helping another customer. I didnt realize my purchase was a burden for Best Buy.

The people that work at the door think theyre the Gestapo with their little mask checkpoint hut, they really made me feel uncomfortable on the way in because they questioned what I would be shopping for? Lost my business for life doing that, Ill shop at Amazon from now on, and be respected for my business. And the kicker is they were talking about how slow business was on my way out. Gee, I wonder why?

Didnt have the printer I wanted but ordered it for me and sending to my house. Might have been the most Covid sensitive store I have been in. Had a policy for protecting customers and employees.
Stood there for 20 minutes, employees just looking at me and ignoring me. I had my 5 mo with me just trying to buy a phone and get out asap. Finally someone approached me to tell me the phone I wanted was out of stock. Not a good experience. Ill be ordering online instead.

They are doing a great job with covid restrictions. They have a station when you walk in with hand sanitizer and extra masks just in case. You have the option. To shop on your own or get put in a que to have someone help you! Very well organized!

I stopped by Best Buy in Crystal Lake. I was interested in buying an Apple watch. However, im not big in the Tec department. I had so many questions about the different series they carry. A gentlemen by the name of Rick helped me! He was able to answer all my questions. Not only that he was so patient with me! He really knew his products. He provided outstanding service! I Just wanted to let BestBuy know, Rick went above and beyond! Thanks to Rick i was able to purchase my Apple watch and I Love it!

I havent been here in a while, but on my recent trip I was pleasantly surprised at the covid measures they have taken. It was nice to be greeted outside the store and the employee directed me to someone that would help my shopping needs. I like that they dont have staff wondering the floor, if you need help in any area you go to the front tell the person there what you need help with and they will send someone to you. Pretty nice set up to limit the people on the floor. Prices are ok, and sometimes you find really good deals too.

I’ve bought many products from Best Buy and never been disappointed. From drones to T V’s, Play stations to stereo equipment. Always a pleasant experience. Also two high end stereos for my cars. Excellent service. I belong to a program they have that gets you free installation. My next purchase will be two remote starters for my cars. No charge for installation. Great place !

I have purchased several things over the past few years from the Crystal Lake location and the staff is always great.

This is our go to place since 2002!! The staff is nice and always very informative. I’ve met the new managers each time of change and they too are consistently of high caliber and knowledge. In recent years Kevin has been the manager I can always count on for help and direction to an area of expertise with my next electronic or appliance type purchase. Also the geek squad/ repair shop - 100% always count on these folks for accuracy and corrections in fixing or updating equipment we have had over the years.
Its always a little bittersweet visiting Best Buy. No other place around makes it feel like everyone who comes in is a potential shop lifter.They always have had a more in your faceloss prevention setup than most other places around but now it feels even more pronounced. I had that feeling both pre-corona and since theyve re-opened the store.For most things I shop elsewhere, but theres always that one item that I need for a client right now that isnt available anywhere else.3 stars for almost always having what I need. Minus 2 stars for the feeling that customers arent really wanted in the store.
