We went to Grand Appliance looking for a refrigerator. John Fritch helped us get exactly what we wanted. He was very knowledgeable and honest about the delivery time frame. They also had the best price for our model. We will be shopping there again for our other appliance needs.
I cannot say enough about our experience with Grand Appliance. When we walked into the Crystal Lake location, we were greeted by Doug and all of our questions were answered without any pressure. Doug was knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. We ultimately ordered four appliances, which were delivered by Boss Installations, Inc. The positive experience extended to the delivery and installation. Louis and his partner had a comforting and professional presence. The appliances were installed accurately and efficiently. It was clear that they take pride in their work, and we are grateful for the overall fantastic experience.
Went into Grand to check out two refrigerators we had narrowed down to. Don, the salesman, was very professional and there was no pressure. We discussed both fridges and the one we were leaning towards was out of stock and wouldn’t be in for several weeks so I ended up ordering the other. I have shopped around A LOT for these appliances and Grand had the best prices of everyone. Not only the appliances themselves, but also no delivery charge, only $26 to move refrigerator to the garage, and a rebate to top it off! Prices in the store were lower than online.

Purchased a new refrigerator there from our last one being a lemon from them so we had credit. Now the new one has problems. Had them come out and was told its the seal around the doors. Simple fix right? Well yea we now been waiting a month. I called 3 times and they say the part is coming from LG and they cant give a date. They said they would reach out to LG and let me know. Well I never got a call. Horrible Horrible customer service. From the beginning the salesman lied saying this unit made ice fast which is a lie. Now were still waiting a month for a simple seal and have no idea when it will get fixed. Ill NEVER do business with them. My next step is calling BBB

I was very happy with the service and friendliness of the store employees. I was very happy with the price and arrangements for delivery. Everything was explained very well and the salesman was very patient. The salesman I worked with was Maxx Zeigler and I was very happy to be working with him.

I needed a size fridge that isn’t typically on the showroom. John showed me what he had on the floor and looked up what was available. It was easy. The unit will arrive in 5 days, and they will take my old unit away.
Greatly disappointed with the quality of service and lack of communication following the purchase of a GE dryer from Grand Appliance. Bought the dryer over 3 months ago and it’s been taken apart 3 times already, has a new motor, new rollers and still doesn’t work right. Lied to about parts being shipped only to be told later they weren’t when we were told. Have had to repeatedly call for updates due to lack of communication from the company. Simply the worst experience I’ve ever had buying an appliance from a store. Nothing grand about this store or their service department.
Zack, the sales person who helped us, was extremely helpful. He was able to answer all the questions I had and pulled up information on specific refrigerators that I was interested in. He was truly helpful and personable through the entire experience and I was even able to find the refrigerator I was looking for and it is being delivered next week. I did not expect the process of finding a refrigerator to go as smoothly as a did.

Tried to purchase refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher. Delivery day refrigerator installed; microwave top dented in; dishwasher/ didnt have extension for drain on the truck. We called the salesman and store manager and was told the stove which was to be delivered a week later was now going to be at least 2 weeks. And, they could not put in the dishwasher and microwave replacement for 10 days.All communication consisted of, Im sorry,can I get back to you later etc. We have cancelled our order. Salesman called and apologized and asked if we would like to reorder!? Not a chance! Advise-do not do business with this unreliable, say anything for a sale and then disappear, company!

The store manager, Jorge, at this location is amazing! He’s very knowledgeable and was able to assist me selecting appliances for my entire kitchen. He asked questions to make sure the appliances fit the needs for my family and I didn’t feel like he was pushing products on me based on price. He was the only employee in the store greeting everyone and helping customers load up their purchases, answering phones, taking payments and managing walk ins. Despite being so busy he remained pleasant and apologized when unable to give one on one attention, but moved seamlessly between all of us. I drove an hour to this location and it was worth the drive for the service I received! I hope they get him an assistant he’s wearing so many hats, but doing it well. I’ll be calling back when I replace my laundry appliances. Great prices and great staff!

Salesman Matt, never communicated and lied to his boss that he talked to me. Bought a refrigerator, 5 weeks and I had to ask for another model because they never bothered to create a purchase order. Got a different brand refrigerator on 6/19/2021 cheaper, cooled for 24 hours, by Monday morning 60 degrees. Salesman response was we did not sell you a defective refrigerator...that was it. $700.00 of medicine and food spoiling and the response was nothing! Bought from Grand twice before in 2020 no problems, and this was terrible experience. Never use Grand Appliance Crystal Lake store sales, they are horrible. $1,400.00 lose for me, and no response from the business...WOW. Yes, they replaced it finally after the Google review. The second delivery was much easier and better at deliveries, since the first delivery crew had to remove both our kitchen and back doors to deliver a refrigerator..again WOW. Sorry I will be shopping at ABT.

We needed to replace our dishwasher, and the shopping experience at Grand Appliance was very good. The salesperson was knowledgeable and not pushy. It was a bit disheartening that we had to wait nearly a week for installation, but it was somewhat understandable given the supply/demand imbalance for appliances right now. The installation crew showed up on schedule, but it wasnt until they got the unit in our house that they saw it had been damaged - quite severely at that. It looked like a forklift had been driven into it. If this were the case, at best, it should have been reported at the time of the incident, and at worst noticed before the item was placed on the truck. Thankfully we were able to get a replacement installed the following business day, and that went off without a hitch. I will consider Grand for future appliance purchases, but I hope that they can tighten up their practices and procedures to avoid delivering damaged products in the future.

October 2020 - The ordering process was nice and easy with Don. Now we’ll see about delivery and install.APRIL 2021 Well - it was a D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R - Changing to one star (which I have never given, but I am now). I STILL dont have an ovenWe originally purchased a #Frigidaire Wall Oven from Grand Appliances in Crystal Lake. I originally placed the order last October, and in December got an oven that did not fit even though we did give very exact measurements prior to the first order.Then, we reordered and finally got another oven in February of this year that did fit, but was not working the moment it was installed - we have never cooked in it because it take over 3 hours to get warm! (yes, you read that right - three hours to preheat).A service technician came our on March 8th of 2021 and a part was ordered (now over a month ago) but has never arrived. I have called service four times and each time they tell me it will just be a few more days, but the part never arrives. and the technician never calls me to set up the installation of the new part.As of today, the service team cannot provide me with a date as to when the part will arrive and they cannot tell me that it will arrive within a week. So, I called and requested a refund through your customer service department. I was told that because I have had the oven longer than 14 days, it cannot be returned - even though it never worked and even though I called for service the day after it was installed. I will have to buy the oven elsewhere.I am pretty sure than anyone reading this letter would be very frustrated if it was their oven and they ordered the oven in October - were told it would be two weeks, and have now missed Thanksgiving, Christmas and now Easter - because we have no oven.The entire process has been very long and difficult. The worst part seems to be the lack of communication between sales and repair service and customer service. They use different computer systems. and as far as I can tell, never speak to one another.Once my sales person found out that the oven did not work, he told me it was a service issue and that was the end if his involvement.As a customer, I dont think that is the right process. This is particularly true since the oven never worked, (not even on day one). Additionally, it seems that you never answer your phone at the Crystal Lake store. I have called 10+ times and have not even gotten an actual person or a call back when I have left voicemails. So I am not having a Grand Day as your voicemail offers.Stephen and Lisa Kaufman

Good price, good product. Buy the people that they use for their installations are terrible. Guy said he could not wait 5 minutes for me to remove some items from a shelf when installing my dryer. He said I would have to reschedule because I need to take down the entire wire shelf above the dryer to get the exhaust vent through. I told him to leave the vent and I installed it myself (without removing the shelves).Atleast Grand refunded me my installation fee.

Working with Doug to get a new Induction range without having to wait months for it was very pleasant. I found a range that was available in the Indianapolis area and Doug made the arrangement to get it sent to northern Ill. for us. Instead of ordering a range and waiting for a couple of months to get it, it will be here in about 2 weeks.

Tom answered when I called Grand Appliance and was extremely helpful with questions about availability of the Bosch dishwasher we wanted.Drove over to see it and Tom explained all the details and differences. 30 min later out the door, dishwasher scheduled for delivery and 12 months interest free!Five stars!
We bought a dishwasher last week and we were told that unfortunately they wouldn’t have a crew for one week to bring it out and install it. Okay, we can wash dishes by hand for a week. No big deal. Before I request the day off I call their customer service to confirm. They say yes we have you scheduled. On Friday my salesman Sam calls me to tell me it won’t be for another full week. I’m starting to wish I had spent the extra $40 that I saved and went somewhere else. If you do use them allow at least 2+ weeks to actually get what you purchased. They didn’t even discount for the inconvenience.

I would not buy the extended warranty from them ever again. Our refrigerator went out and it is a week to get someone here. Now no one can even help us get a sooner appointment. We bought it from them but they can not help after that. We have no freezer, ice and now the fridge is getting warmer. LG is not any help either.
We purchased our refrigerator and stove from them almost a year ago. I called and spoke with Matt to find the right water and air filter. He found it and put them aside for me. When I went in today it was a fast and easy pick up. They had their masks on and the placed was clean

I have purchased 3 kitchen/laundry appliances from Grand now. Each time, the people working there were efficient, helpful and knowledgeable about the product features, availability, and installation. There was never a hard sell or push to buy anything more than I needed. Though the extended warranty was offered, it wasnt pushed. I also liked that the installation charge varied, depending on the appliance, as some are more complex to hook up than others are.

We hadn’t had the need for a new washer &dryer and dishwasher for a long, long time. We decided to visit Grand Appliance. Tom VanDyck approached us and proceeded to bring us up to date regarding new technology in appliances. He was very patient and knowledgeable. All questions were answered to our complete understanding!The order was placed and if everything goes as anticipated this rating will be 5 stars++.EDIT 1: 5 stars to 3 stars. Well things certainly did not go as expected.When we ordered our appliances (washer, dryer & dishwasher) we were given a delivery date of May 25, 2021. That day came and we had an afternoon window for delivery. The delivery was not complete! The washer was not included. No one called to advise, apologize, explain or provide options. Nada. The delivery people are contractors and they couldnt provide answers. I called the store and spoke to Tom V. Since the 25th, we had an upgrade washer delivered that does not match the dryer we had ordered. Communication with the Crystal Lake location has been inconsistent. Only when I initiate contact do I get a response - in a few days. Some of the problem could be related to the issues COVID 19 has presented. If so, promises should not be made that cant be kept. The key is to under promise and over deliver. This has be the opposite.I didnt downgrade to 1 or zero stars because theres a glimmer of hope that things will be made right in the near future. Right now thats not a given.EDIT 1a: I was just notified (within minutes) that the washer we need is backordered. Ill be notified when its available ??Coincidental to my changing the original review? Things that make you say hmmm...

I’m writing this because of my great experience with dealing with the manager Jorge Rodriguez. I have never even been to the store, but was shopping on line and Jorge helped me with getting a great deal on a refrigerator for my garage. When the fridge arrived there were some small issues with the drawer and the fridge was missing handles. I was disappointed until I talked with Jorge and he without hesitation got me the missing handles and replaced the broken drawer. He is a man of his word and I would recommend going to him for future business.

Recently purchased a Samsung slide in range from the Crystal Lake location, salesman Don ordered and confirmed delivery, even calling me before he went on vacation since he would not be available on the day of delivery. Delivery arrived as promised, delivery and installer crew thankfully! pointed out a significant dent in the side before they brought in my house. We did not accept delivery but a new range was ordered (Thank You Matt!) arrived and was installed in less than 48HRS perfectly by the same crew!Happy with price, sales staff, inspection by crew, delivery, install and great customer service!
