Before one time when no where to appear black hair women with a tall men, who looks protective, anyways it wasn’t suspicious until she start to asking about my address, want to give me approval for some credit card for the holidays season. The associates at Crystal Lake Home Depot are always very helpful. I love that the store is well stocked and that its dog friendly! If the temps are too.low, the weather is bad or you just want a different type of outing, take your pooch! Went to the Home depot in ALGONQUIN to purchase a thermostat. We had the email from ComEd for our in-store $100 rebate.If you go to ComEds page you can submit for the rebate and pick to use it in store, or on line. We chose to use it in store only at a home depot. Once this is issued, you use it and save $100 at time of checkout - its clearly explained from comed.We checked out - and of corse at the register, it didnt work. He basically threw his hands up and was like, it doesnt work - you still want it w/o the rebate?No thanks - Ill go to customer service and see if they can help. He was friendly and said ok.Go to customer service and we explain the situation. The immediate response was well if it didnt work for him, Im sure it wont work for me. I was irritated, and suggested that was a poor excuse, please try. At that point she was SLIGHTLY more willing to put effort into helping. She asks a few co-workers who basically all say yeah, you got to do that on line, we cant helpWhich isnt true - it literally says IN STORE ONLY. At this point I just say forget it - Ill try another Home Depot. So now she puts a little more effort into it - makes a call to someone, and he says same stuff - yeah, we cant help - those never work - on line only.. Same excuses. THey said buy it, and main in your receipt . (IT says CLEARLY IN STORE ONLY). Finally I just say forget it.Get in the car and we call the Home depot in Crystal Lake. We explained the rebate we had, and the lady (Janet) who answered the phone was confused as to why that home depot couldn’t help. She even said So you have the in-store rebate - and the code likely starts with a 9? She knew exactly what it was, and said they work with them all the time.So we went to Home Depot in Crystal lake. Within 5 minutes we made the purchase and had ZERO issues. They had no idea why 5 employees at algonquin were clueless.Crystal Lake store will be my go to from here on out. Thanks Janet! :)

I came in just to get some paint. Gabby, the incredibly friendly woman at self checkout was so helpful. She came up to me and made sure I found everything I needed, asked and explained about the Home Depot credit card. I did need help putting the paint in my vehicle and she called for assistance right away. Doug, came up front right away. He was so nice and made sure he put the paint in exactly where I wanted it. Most Home Depot’s you either can’t find anyone to help you or they’re rude. I love this location. They’ve always been friendly, helpful, and professional.

It was a normal trip to the Depot until I got on the check out line. The cashier was very nice. She actually talked with me and was very friendly It made my visit stand out compared to other visits. A nice friendly person makes a huge impact on the impression of the experience.

It never fails. When I dont need assistance there is always an associate willing to help but when Im in need of assistance I cant find anyone or who I ask for help cant help. Other than that I love this store.

Big box store that gets by on their name to stay in business. You can have all the best merchandise in the world and the finest products. But when you hire rude and unhelpful people who dodge you or Dont know anything or behave like they are put out or being put out when you ask for help

Couldnt go in because of multiple unmasked or partially masked employees within view of the entrance. Was able to have someone bring out my order but it took about 20 minutes to get it.

Typically have positive experiences at this location, and I dont typically ask for assistance when at the store- Today I was looking for an oven ignitor and asked for guidance, Glenda (HomeDepot Associate) asked the person in plumbing if they carry ignitors, he scoffed No without the decency to even look our direction. Clearly what he was doing was far more important then assisting a customer. Glenda quickly apologized and walked me to her computer to check the HomeDepot website, when we couldnt find the component we were looking for she found directions to a local store that would carry the component. Excellent customer service on her part. I may be far from the biggest customer this location has, but under going a large home renovation project, I was prepared to take my business else where. Thanks Glenda!

The home depot always have what we need, but lately they have always been out of the filters we need for our furnace 3M #7. Other than that, its a great place to shop for the home.

This was probably one of the Worse Home Depot I have visited, I needed Light bulbs & piece of steel which I can get it cut, I had asked around and was told that Home Depot can but NO. These people were Mean, Selfish and Unhelpful. Even coming up front, one Fat woman cashier sees us from distance (probably our Brown Skin) and follows through to what and how many things we are carrying (just watching from distance, keeping an eye not helping) and as soon as we were ready to check out she just went back. Never Coming back here... People Like Me Specially Stay Away from this Store or Maybe They Are ALL Alike.

I wish I didnt have to spend my money at a company that promotes hate.

I went to return 2 bags of dirt today, their online website said they closed at 8pm. I arrived at 538pm. They stated they were closing early at 530pm as I was 5 steps from the door with my two 50lbs bags of dirt. They wouldnt allow me in because they stated they were closing early due to the protests in downtown chicago. Were more than 50 miles from the city, they didnt notify anybody in advance due to this concern. And I wasnt trying to purchase anything, only return. Very unprofessional to close early with no notice, and not even able to make an accommodation considering I was 5 steps outside the door. I ended up leaving the bags because I didnt want to reload everything again. Terrible service.

Well stocked and organized. They did not have the plumbing part I was looking for, but neither did Menards or Ace.

Great when you need some boards cut, normally have great help whenever I have questions, check out could be better organized but will always come back. I also had problems with their company that brings the appliances to your home, ( a refrigerator )but the manager worked with me to get it resolved.

My husband and I purchased our appliances through Home Depot and paid for installation and the protection plan. For the first 10 months we had no issues with any of the appliances except for the dishwasher. We purchased a Bosch and the dishwasher itself works great, however the installation company installed it wrong and we had water leaking into our basement. They used the wrong clamp and tightened it down with an air ratchet (I only know this because we had to pay a plumber who told us this). Long story short we contacted Home Depot about the situation who told us to reach out to the installation company. My husband had to call the installation company every single day and they never called us back, just sent a rejection letter in the mail. So then we went back to Home Depot about the issue (because we also paid for a protection plan). Well buyer beware do not purchase either the protection plan or pay for the installation because the installation company does not take responsibility and Home Depot just puts it back on installation company. Home Depot should have taken care of the situation after we had issues with the installation company because thats what a company with good customer service would do. Next time around we will just price shop at Home Depot and purchase the product elsewhere.

This Home Depot has always been very helpful although the layout of the store is a lot different then most making it harder to find stuff if you are not use to it.

Good selection. Some good department staff and some useless department staff. As expected. Good returns and customer service desk staff lately. Marshall in plumbing is abrasive but VERY helpful and educated. There is an older blond woman in the outdoor planting area who is literally a Master Gardener and very knowledgeable.

Went shopping for new stove. Was hard to get help and the workers were standing around talking. Needless to say we didnt buy. Couldnt get enough info on stove .

My husband and I went here for some last minute things for our new home Melissa was the only employee willing to help us anytime we tried to get another employees attention they would either try to look busy or start walking in the other direction Melissa took the time to help us out with where specific items would be and in what aisles she went above and beyond if that girl doesn’t get a raise or a promotion ASAP she should start seeking employment else where she has A1 customer service experience if you go here please request the best employee they have Melissa

I walked all the way into the back of the store couldnt find a product when I asked for help I was screamed at by 2 staff members for not wearing a mask they scared me and where confrontational thy didnt want to help me find the product I needed and then gave me incorrect directions to the wrong isle. I cant beleive the wy I was just treated another staff member tried to help me and was nice. But I felt really on edge at that place and I wont go back if youre literally trying to scare your customers away.

Supper deals at times, nice staff and very easy to find items. Once again went to Home Depot. Our dishwasher broke on us and wasnt worth fixing. We meet a salesman named Ed he works in that department. We had no idea of which dishwasher would work the best for us. He took the time to give us a 101 class on dishwashers. By the time he finished we knew exactly the type dishwasher would work for us. He was very patient and knowledgeable and made sure we would be comfortable with our choice. As he spoke you could tell he wasnt just trying to sell us a product for a sale. He made the process totally easy. Most of the staff we have needed help from time to time are good but this gentleman goes above and beyond expectations. A +++ to this salesperson.
