Ill have to give this 4 stars. Theres a decent selection of items/products you can buy. I bought some arrachera (skirt steak). After seasoning it and grilling it, it was great! Nice fresh cuts. Only drawback is how expensive it was compared to other places. My wife did find some nice and hot salsa that caught her eye. She said it was extremely hot but great flavor and it was good.

Horrible..Ive been going to this store for 3 years. I never felt so humiliated. I went in yesterday for fresh Salsa and chips close to 6 clock. The cashier short in statute didnt say hello when I walked in. I asked her where the tortillas chips where for they have 3 different spots for chips..she just pointed and continued to talk to her cook on the restaurant end. As I stood there she stopped her conversation and say down there. At this time I was going to tell her that I was sorry she was having a bad day. My salsa fell on the floor and I told the same guy for it was a hazard if no one picked it up. She ran to get the salsa that was broken and rung it up. She said I broke it I pay for it and they are not the only ones that does it. I said get the manager nothing is posted in the store or on receipts. Ive also reminded her that it was not an expensive vase. She said the store pays for the price tag and container it was in....so what if it expired..theres still a lost. I dont believes she called the manager and said I didnt tell no one it was dropped. Sorry if the guy didnt know English. I will post on their Facebook and tell everyone never go there..so much for small business...and people of color..yes Im black even white believe this place has some prejudices.

We LOVE La Rosita. I literally order tacos here once a week minimum. The steak and al pastor tacos are definitely their best. The grocery part of the store is also really nice -- good produce too!

Hidden gem on Main Street in Crystal Lake which can describe the produce, fresh meat, or aisles of well stocked Mexican grocery items. Personal favorite is the corner kitchen and that is the jewel in this crown. Doesn’t take Google Map to see Crystal Lake Brewery is across the street and then the dining journey is complete.

Very nice, clean store. Friendly workers, well stocked shelves. Great produce! Kinda pricey..but look for the deals and youll find them.

Decent food. Employees are a-holes both times I went there. Find average mexican food somewhere else.

Lengua tacos are the best ever! All of their tacos are good, but its so unusual to have such an amazing and unique lengua taco.

Love that you have fresh tamales year round. Your fresh made salsas are great. Havent had any problems with any of our many visits. Workers are very helpful and friendly 🙂

Been going here for years and man their food is on point.The environment is nothing fancy. It’s a legit hole in the wall. But the food is where they shine, nearly everything they make is perfect; portions are pretty generous too.If you’re into spicy food, their salsa is lacking in heat. Ask them for the grilled jalapeños.They have the best al pastor and lengua. Their steak is decent but their carnitas can be wanting.Overall, if you are looking to support a small business and want good food, go here.

Mexican grocery store run by Mexicans I get some cheap and delicious tacos from here all the time. My mom also loves to buy plantains from here. Great place.

Terrible service, we went there to send money to Mexico on Thursday august 12 around 6 pm and the cashier was soooo rude. She has the worst attitude.not good for the business or the customers. We went to Woodstock. Never going back to this Rosita 😡

Tried the chicken, Al pastor, and Carne Asada tacos to go, and scarfed them down over at Crystal Lake Brewing Company while enjoying a delicious beer from there. All three of them were outstanding. Highly recommended.

Love going here for my Mexican meats and supplies. Always got to grab something to eat from the taqueria there also. The reviewer that compared it to taco bell/McDonalds is a hater and an idiot. Clean kitchen and good burritos. Will be back!

This place has the best tacos. The only thing I wish is that they made carnitas every day instead of just on weekends.

Went to this place this morning with my dad. My Dad buys food from here very often. Almost every weekend. We ordered food, menudo, it took them about 20mnts for them to get it ready. When we were ready to check out, we waited about 5mnts for a cashier to attend us. While waiting we rang the bell, they have on their counter, to attend us several times. Finally after 5 mnts the cashier comes with an attitude telling my dad in a very rude voice that he was a very desperate man. Instead of saying Im sorry for the wait.her some manners towards customers.

This place has some of the best, most authentic Mexican food around. I enjoy their offerings. They have one of the best menudos Ive had. Its only available on the weekends though. Stop by and see for yourself.

Went to get some groceries for New Year’s Day that we can only get the quality from here, although we were there an hour before they opened they came to the door and let us get the items that we needed. We have only shopped at this store for years but this was above and beyond any customer service that is expected!! Thank you La Rosita!!! More companies can learn from you!!

Great if youre cooking Mexican for dinner. Not much else. Prices on meat are fantastic. Packaged goods seemed a bit pricey. Friendly staff

Used to be a great place for authentic Mexican food until the guy running the taco stand left. Guy running it now is a terrible cook who doesnt care for white people. When I was there yesterday I placed my order first but he took care of the two Spanish speaking orders behind mine. I will never go back there again.

Cold pastor not held at temp. Cook didnt put my pork on flat top. He just scooped it out of a third pan and put it on my tortillas undercooked and cold. Salsas were bland. Old cook was the best. this guy needs help and a priest. Some Holly water and shot of booze.

Ive come here before and I spoke Spanish the first time I was here, my food was excellent and was right on time. The second time I came I brought my not of color side of the family and even though we were first in line, it took nearly an hour for 4 (just okay) tacos to come when it wasnt busy and maybe a few other people were here when they had arrived after us. Its too bad the service is poor and I believe the service is prejudice.

I’m from California and my son is a fireman here and misses the traditional Mexican food from California. I was very happy to find this store with hard to find pansa and pata de res for menudo. Plus, to find homemade chorizo instead of the disgusting liquid in a tube the other grocery stores sells, was a win, win! My son said that it was the best menudo he ever had and I can vow that the spicy chorizo was amazing. Made it with papas con huevo. The store was clean, the staff were courteous, especially the cute older man in the carnicería. You want traditional, this is your store! So when I came to visit my son, I’ll make his favorite traditional foods! Thank you!

Theyre food was really good, service was good as well, it was a bit higher priced than out at the Mt. Prospect Location, but I really dont know if theyre franchise or all the same owners. Up in the running on quality of mexican cuisine, especially for a takeout grocery store!

La Rosita is the best authentic Mexican food place in Crystal Lake the food is fresh as they also ra produce and meat market clean and the the are the best around I cant compare with the quality again 9 people dont know where its at but once they go there theyll be back if they know anything about real Mexican food not talk about Taco Bell not that that has its place I eat there sometimes too but when you want the real this is where to go

Cook seemed kinda unfriendly and unattentive. And ive never seen an authentic Mexican diner heat rice in a microwave. Yes, i paid for reheated rice, not fresh made. The steak meat had good taste, but so much fat and so little steak. Also, Im used to complimentary chips and salsa being served, which this place doesnt seem to do, at their prices I kinda expect chips and salsa. Restaurant area needs a good cleaning as well.

I normally get Tacos plain, and I got a normal pork and a ribeye steak taco. I normally eat at the La rosita (now la huerta) in mchenry and they are fantastic. However, coming here the pork taco was delicious, but the hunks of meat were huge, and definitely needed to be cut smaller and reheated a bit on the grill. The ribeye steak taco was ridiculously lazy.. i didnt watch him cook it but all the guy did was put a slab of meat on a tortilla.. he didnt cut it at all. Will not come here again, definitely go to mchenry, you wont regret it.
