Theres my personal opinion, and then theres popular opinion, which often dont agree. However, the Fresh Market did come in first place as USA Todays Best Supermarket in America this year... and I was one of those votes. To be fair, this is one of four or five groceries in my area where I shop, and each one has its positive points. In terms of clean and organized, this is tops. Atmosphere, again top notch. Probably not the biggest or most fun or affordable, but you will find the highest quality products often not found at other stores. For a relatively small store (especially compared to big box) the variety is pretty incredible. Great, helpful people too. If I want produce, this is the highest quality. If you learn and shop the daily specials, cost is actually lower than many other places. Hope you try and enjoy it!

The store is so awesome!!! It’s my first time in the store and boy the overall cleanliness and quality of the product is amazing, special thanks to Bryan in the meat department who cut a strip loin into steaks just the way I asked him too ! Will be back soon

Shopped here for the first time and had a great experience. All of the employees were friendly, helpful and gave great recommendations. Really enjoyed the fresh, quality produce and small store feel. I wanted to fill out the survey but, missed the 4 day window. I shop in the Crystal Lake store often. Trish in the fish department has been amazing! She is knowledgeable and always makes you feel youre the only one in the store. Shes a keeper.

Prices are reasonable, sales are improving, and the staff is always pleasant. Employees in the aisles arent always helpful when it comes to finding items. The cashiers are extremely pleasant.

I used to shop here all the time. But I havent been to this store in a very long time. Now I know why. They are extremely overpriced!! Im willing to pay for quality products but not when theyre less expensive other places. I walked out and didnt purchase anything. And nobody noticed!! I highly doubt that Ill waste my time going back again.

I always have a pleasant experience. Great quality food. They sell corn souffle that is divine. I tried it back in November, and I am hooked. They have wheat croissants that are also delicious. I love going to this store.

My wife calls this place the happy store. Love the great selection of high end and unusual stuff.

I usually only go for the coffee mainly. More specifically, the Carmel Macciato & Creamy French Vanilla. Theyre both great tasting coffee. This time we got those two as well as a few others that we want to try. Only thing was we paid full price whereas the last few times weve gone to The Fresh Market, the coffee was on sale. Better luck next time for us I guess.

The other day I purchased the Mother’s Day meal, for my wife and myself. I would like to say that the two fillets that were picked out we’re absolutely beautiful. Two great looking pieces of beef, both over a half of a pound The asparagus was fresh, and just the right size; not too big not too small. The garlic whipped mashed potatoes were delicious and the chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert were large and beautifully decorated.The flowers with the package we’re in great shape, and the reusable bag it all came in my wife loved. I highly recommend it, and would do it again. Thank you Fresh Market,

This place is extremely popular, but I appreciate they kept their prices reasonable for solid pastries and baked goods. Love the ham and cheese thingy and their cake donuts are also refreshingly simple and good.

This location is really good. The size is big and there are extra things here that you dont see in smaller Whole Foods stores

I use to shop at Fresh Market all the time, but my last visit was a huge disappointment. I ordered a French Silk pie for the holidays, and it was disgusting. They use to make the best French Silk pies. We ended up throwing out the pie that cost over $16.00.

First time here. Staff was super friendly. My wife and I where able to find everything we needed without any issues. The store has safety measures in place for social distancing too.

Fresh sushi, beautiful fruit and veg, and healthy snacks. Not cheap but tasty. A lot of their business is Instacart interestingly.

We shop here all the time. My fiancé bought chicken that they run on Tuesdays. When we got home to cook we noticed a bad oder (which never happens) from the chicken. So I was tasked to go back to the store and get new chicken. When I arrived they were so nice and replace my chicken and gave us extra for our troubles! The place is top notch!!! Thank you!!

Always a friendly experience and all the staff is always helpful. The lines depend on the time of the day so if we cant wait 5 or 10 minutes extra, we should wait long enough to grow all this stuff ourselves and not to wait in line. Thanks to all the hard working people.

What a great store. The Fresh Market is attractive, compact and has pretty much everything you could need. The produce section, deli, and seafood and meat counter are all excellent. Too many good things to mention but one thing I tried recently -- the stores cold smoked salmon -- was excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Fresh Market is a gem and deserves your business.

Well, this is one of those markets that has some niche products that can’t be found elsewhere, but otherwise many of the regular items will be higher in cost than Jewel. The meat is really good quality, the deli is top notch and many of the weekly specials are a really good deal if you follow them. It’s not a place to buy paper towels, condiments and other regular items, but the food item selections are what keep me going there every week.

I love this Market! This market is just down the street from my house and they open until 9pm, so I come to this market quite often now. The market is super clean and well organized. I love the fact that all of staff is very friendly and they have a pride what they do including cashier. I can tell the management is taking care of staffs. I love their salad section and I usually pick kale and mix vegetable with pumpkin.Their soup selection is awesome as well and my favorite is basil tomato soup.

As always it is a good experience to shop at this grocery store. Just a minor hiccup during checkout-internet problem caused a delay. This issue could be a big problem during holiday season.

Although I do like to shop Fresh Market for one item that no one else around me has... I wish I could make it my dominant grocery store. The pricing, however, hinders my decision. With Marianos being so close to it, and having more of a selection at lower prices... that ultimately pulls me in. And although I am not a conversationalist during my shopping trips, it would be nice to be acknowledged by Fresh Market staff once in a while. I never so much as get a hello, EXCEPT by the very friendly cashiers.The positives are.... the layout, the trendiness, and the healthy options.The negatives... the prices, the unfriendliness, and the competition.I really do hope your store thrives though... I am grateful to stock up on my favorite Belgian yogurt... Even though they are priced higher than Id like to spend, they are a daily necessity. So I am probably the one who empties the shelf of them every time. HA!

Above and beyond customer service!! I loved this store when lived in Crystal Lake. The produce, the the meat department, the deli, and the unusual little things you just didnt find other places. Oh, and did I mention the COFFEE??Well, since I moved to Montana 6 years ago, I have not been able to find my favorite coffees that we enjoyed so much from Th Fresh Market, except when i go back to visit, I load up on a few pounds (and pay for extra luggage!) Well, my sister in law (from Montana) is visiting Crystal Lake today and i called TFM to see if I could pay for 4 lbs of coffee and have her pick it up for me. Speaking the Kirk, Asst. Mgr., he regretted that the store is not up to taking credit cards verbally. BUT.....since I was a loyal (though remote) customer he would accommodate me GRATIS! WOW! now THAT is a store and staff I will always align myself with. Plus he informed me as to how i can order coffee in the future. Thats diplomacy! Vote for Kirk for President!

I do like the Fresh Market for certain items. Its a great place to pick up nice flowers for a good price and nobody can beat their cold smoked salmon. I use to go here for a few other items but they have competition now. One thing I purchased was their vegetarian spring rolls near the sushi area. They never seem to have them in stock now. They need to find their niche now that Marianos is here.

Staff is great - always helpful and friendly. Never had to wait in line more than a minute or two to check out. Meat quality is excellent and staff will specialty cut however you want. Cant say enough nice things about this market.

The staff are always nice and the food is usually top quality. Quite pricey, but the sales can be very good bargains. Selection is limited.

This is my FAVORITE STORE in all of Crystal Lake! Not just my favorite grocery store, but favorite store of any kind! Please do realize this is an upscale supermarket, not the kind of place you would go to feed a hungry family, more so for the single professional or the a young couple or empty nesters. They do NOT have the low pricing or huge selection of the bigger grocery chains, they can be expensive, and some of their categories are very limiting in terms of choice. But, if you want truly GOOD FOOD that tastes wonderful, this is the best place in town to shop. Their produce section, deli and meat department are all first rate. The main reason I shop here is for their small but excellent deli. The fresh sushi they offer is some of the best you can get anywhere in town. The bakery has some outstanding bread, cookies and cakes, and Im always buying something new to try, and Im rarely disappointed. One of my favorite things about the store are their big barrels of whole-bean coffee, where you can scoop out the amount YOU WANT to buy, and either grind it in the store, or just take the beans home and grind the beans yourself. Plenty of excellent coffee choices to choose from. Another outstanding service they have are pre-packaged meals, already prepped, that you can take home and simple heat up and serve. Their meals are EXCEPTIONAL! Its a wonderful service and its one of the areas I always like to buy from. I cannot recommend this store highly enough! And the staff is one of the very best Ive ever encountered.

Great place to get fresh produce and meat. They have have a large deli area with a wide variety of cheeses. Good bakery with a good selection of sweet goods. I enjoy their cupcakes and cookies. Nice variety of candy as well.

Fresh food but way too expensive for me. They do have out of ordinary items if thats what youre looking for. Good for unusual cooking items.

Staff is always super friendly and produce is of good quality. I usually shop here for meat, and if you can catch their Tuesday sales, its a superb value. Much better than their normal competitor you can find all over northern Illinois.

Clean store, friendly and helpful employees, quality food selection. The bakery is has lots of fresh made items, the cheese selection is amazing! Lots of variety and it’s the only store around where you’re going to find Maytag blue cheese. The produce here is the best around!

The employees are very knowledgeable about their products and go above and beyond for each customer. The atmosphere is delightful as well because there is always classical music playing in the background which helps to also enhances the shopping experience. I love this store!

Go here all the time for sushi, and I will continue to because they have some of the best in town and it’s not wildly overpriced. I rarely buy anything else but I did try the tiramisu once and dear LORD it was dry and the flavor was so so so wrong. That’s the only reason I’m giving 4/5 instead of 5/5 stars.
