My moms laptops keyboard quit working and after bringing it to another local shop they said they couldnt fix it. I brought it to Colin at Tech Medics, and the same day he got back to me with different options with different price points and delivery times. Colin has been nothing but amazing to deal with and kept me informed during the whole process. He even checked in on Thanksgiving day to update me on the computer. I will never bring any of my electronics to anywhere else, and no he didnt pay me to say this.

I made a terrible mistake and accidentally dropped my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 while playing pokémon go with my daughter in west Duluth, Minnesota. This was Samsungs most expensive flagship device to date and it is an amazing device that enriches my life greatly. So as I helplessly watched gravity snatch up my robotic companion and, seemingly in slow motion, pull it approximately one meter down to its inevitable doom, I froze, suspended in animation and I felt the cold, moist presence of a single teardrop fall from my eyelid down the length of my face and then drop succumbing to the exact fate my gizmo endured mere seconds ago. A piece of my soul was riding that lone teardrop and was carried to its abrupt finale, relegated to the earth realm forever more. . . Then I brought it to Tech medics. They fixed it 24 hours later, and my soul was instantly regrown and I lived happily ever after. They were nice and good at what they did too. 5 stars and high praise to what will surely remain an inexpendable member of our community, providing OUTSTANDING service to the twin ports community for decades to come! They tell you a possible charge but dont tell you of a charge to just bring it in. I wouldnt use them ever again. They said they would call me with charges before doing anything but again didnt tell me of any drop off charges.

When I went in I was super hopeful. They seemed nice enough and diagnosis the probably right away and were going to fix it for a fair price. The rivets in my computer needed to glued back down.Everything was fine until there was a complication with the repair. My screen shattered in the corner when they were putting the screen back on.Then after that my display would not even show up, my touch pad didnt work, and my keyboard didnt work.They did not charge me for the initial repair and the weird display/keyboard issues which was nice but they would not replace the screen on my computer unless I paid for the part that THEY broke which was about twice as much as the original repair cost. Customer service declined very quickly after my screen broke. I definitely felt like they just wanted to be done dealing with me at the end but it may have been with call of the COVID stuff going on.They said that the screen was no where to be found; which may be believable since my laptop is going on 4 years old, but I wish they stated the risks of the rivets repair at the beginning. I had a fully functioning computer going in and now a 4th of my touch screen is shattered without my touch capabilities.

I stopped by as my computer was running very slow. I had checked out a couple of other spots and decided this might be my best option for a speedy fix. Colin who I believe is the owner had an IPhone pulled apart on his desk and I could tell he was right in the middle of what looked like a perplexing fix. He stopped what he was doing and assisted me for a half hour, had some suggestions on what might help at home to speed up my computer as it seemed to be working fine in his shop. He apologized as he looked at his watch because he had to have the phone he had apart ready in 15 minutes and needed to complete the job. He didnt charge me anything to give me his thoughts which were the correct measures. I went home made some adjustments to my setup and my computer was back to being as fast as the first day I purchased. He didnt ask me for any payment. I called him today and insisted on paying him something to which he agreed.Colin was fabulous for a guy who had no idea what to do or how to do it. I strongly endorse Colin and Tech Medics and can assure anyone I will be checking with Tech Medics before I will go anywhere else.

I am beyond words for how helpful the owner was. I need my phone for business and when it broke, he had my phone completely repaired and in working order within hours. He is very honest and goes out of his way to put the customer first. I have a couple friends that have gotten their phones fixed by him, and a couple times he has actually come out of pocket to ensure that people are satisfied. Hes seem like a good guy.

I needed the charging port replaced on my phone, and they came to my rescue. They had the part in stock, were able to get to it right away, and were very reasonable in price. Seems like most people had a much better experience than I did. After my computer was in Tech Medics possession for over a month, I was given an inaccurate diagnosis, zero repairs, over-priced estimates (compared to competitors), had someone elses hard drive installed upon return, and was given a much older worn out charger than the one I brought in with my computer. Colin was stomping around swearing, insulting and yelling at his apparently brand new teenage employee, and taking calls and swearing on the phone- at his wife/partner, I think- while he was at the counter helping me. He asked me to come get my computer during a blizzard right after I told hime I dont drive, because he was sick of seeing it on his work bench all day. He hadnt done anything to repair it at the time, and I had to bring it back yet again to get MY OWN hard drive reinstalled. It was probably the most unprofessional experience Ive had as a business patron. I see a lot of positive reviews, but I will never go back.

I usually dont write reviews but this place deserved one. My phone issue last week was quickly fixed by Colin and I was so impressed with his respect and patience with me, an older woman, who is a tech novice. I will return to this business.

The screen wasnt in stock due to the price ($265 in November 17) but was ordered and in quickly. My phone was dropped off and when I got it back it was good as new! I like these guys - very competent, helpful and straight up. I brought in an iPhone 6S with charging port issues that were confounding. The tech worked through the process while I waited and clearly knew what he was doing. In the final analysis they werent able to fix it but they bent over backwards trying (conclusion was that some aspect of the mother board wasnt interfacing with the charging port correctly - they tried two new charging port assemblies with the same result). I was only charged their flat $20 fee for evaluation. The phone will still charge but only if I bend the charging cable over with continuous pressure. Weird. Love/hate iphones.

Normally I don’t do reviews, but this one I felt the need to take a few minutes and share my experience. I didn’t catch the name of the fella who answered the phone, but all I have to say is he was EXTREMELY RUDE! When it comes to a small city like Duluth, customer service is everything, in my opinion. Getting hung up on before finishing my sentence is not the best way to get a new customer to walk in the door! Big thumbs down to your establishment.👎🏻👎🏻I was not rude or even speaking in a disrespectful tone, if I had been, I would’ve expected to have been hung up on, but that was not the case in this situation. I’ve never been disrespected at Boxtronics, so that’s where my family and I will be going from now on!

I brought my laptop in thinking the latch broke, as it turns out I think I had dropped it in the past and it completely ruined the inside backing of my laptop. Tech medics did everything they could to fix it and spent so much time trying to fix it. Turns out my laptop is a fluke and the only part that could fix it was some 400$ part from a super foreign place. Tech medics found a way to fix it without using the super expensive part and only charged me 45$!! Really great people.

Ive been looking for a place to get my iPhone X repaired and from word of mouth this place seems pretty shady. Ive heard multiple accounts of sub-par service, specifically regarding the owners blustery attitude towards customer service. Furthermore, Ive also heard several accounts of phones being repaired using sub-par parts and even (unverified) reports of parts being stolen out of phones. This seems to be the Jiffy Lube of phone repair locations.

Had a screen repaired on my phone. After it was fixed, I was unable to access my phones password after multiple attempts. My phone finally locked up on me. The guy then said that the phone had to be reset to manufacturer settings. Which he did and WIPED OUT MY ENTIRE MEMORY! I had everything saved on my internal storage. .. very disappointed >: /

I got my iphones camera fixed quickly and later that night I noticed only my volume down button worked now but my volume up button did not. I called him back the next day politely and let him know what happened and he acted very rude to me like that was impossible and made it feel like he was calling me a liar. I brought my phone in so he could see what I was talking about. He opened my phone back up and explained why this would happen and I was fine with not having my volume up button not working cause I wasnt gonna pay another $30. He handed me my phone back, but it didnt work now. It kept restarting and wouldnt fully turn on. So I sat with him for another 10 minutes while he rudely explained that he had to drop everything that he was doing now to work on my phone that he messed up in the first place. Later that day I came back to the store and got my phone back. He fixed it and even the volume up button worked again. It was just not a pleasant experience for someone who runs his own business. Later on that night my volume up button quit working lol... I told my friend about the experience I had and he explained that he had brought one of his galaxy phones into him, marked separate pieces on his phone with a silver sharpie, and found out that later on when he got his phone back that he didnt have all the same parts. My friend had confronted him and basically had to make the owner give him the original pieces of his phone back with his phone. Thats just what I heard but its from a good source, at least to me. So at first this company owner was nice and tried to be helpful while getting my business, but when it came down to him making mistakes he turned out to become very rude and unpleasant to do business with.

Cracked the screen of my Galaxy S8, called Tech Medics up the very next Monday. They had to order in the part (screen + outer frame/fascia), but it still arrived the next day, ready to install. Installation only took ~2 hours. $310 total, parts and labor (most of that is just the screen, I believe it was $60 labor?). After about 3 weeks or so, screen is holding up well. Only reason I am giving a 4 instead of a 5 is because I requested a gold frame/trim, but was instead given a silver one. Not a huge deal, the only reason I was going with gold was because they couldnt order in the OEM black frame. Anyway, highly recommend, Ill definitely bring any more tech problems here.

Very dissatisfied. I broke the screen on my iPhone 8+ and they put an obviously low quality bootleg screen on. This screen felt cheap and like plastic instead of glass. The colors were also off significantly and it looked horrible. The 3D touch also did not work at all. I went back and called them out on it, and they replaced it with a more premium version of the screen. The screen was better but still obviously not a quality screen. I went with it and didnt bother going back for what would have been a 4th time between getting the screen replaced twice. Big mistake. 6-8 months later my 3D touch barely works and in only certain parts of the screen and theres a dead spot on the sceen thats greenish in color. The owner complained to me about how he was still making money but wasnt making as much money on the premium screen. I should have just gone to the apple store to have my screen repaired and am considering doing so now just to get this god awful screen off of my phone. I have told many people to never do business with them and referred them elsewhere. I cant speak on their repairs of things other than iPhone screens, but their iPhone screens and customer service are god awful. I would imagine their other repairs are no different. I did not feel valued as a customer and my whole experience there made me feel like I was just a profit number to them. The employees that I worked with that were not the owner seemed nice enough, but business-wise were just an extension of the owners sleezeball approach to everything. The owner was rude to me over the phone in person. Something about their whole operation seems shady and I would highly suggest you go literally anywhere else; it couldnt be worse than here. Pay the extra money, go to the apple store and get the repairs done right.Edit: Im now beginning to suspect that they stole some parts of my phone, which would explain why they were so adamant that I dont wait in store and watch my phone be repaired. Some companies like this will take out parts from phones and replace them with bootleg parts like the screen they put on my phone and turn around and sell the parts at a profit. I HIGHLY recommend just going to the apple store or similar to get your phone fixed and not an awful company run by awful people like this one. I came here to save some money on getting my phone fixed, and its gonna end up costing me more than it originally would have to go to the apple store and fix what TechMedics did to my phone. I may end up just having to buy a new phone which is going to cost me a lot of money. All this to save $30 on a screen repair. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID.Final Edit: I brought my phone into the apple store today to hopefully get it fixed. Tech Medics messed up my phone so bad they couldnt fix it. I had to get the phone entirely replaced. I got lucky and was still under warranty so I didnt have to pay any more on top of what Tech Medics charged me. If Tech Medics ever reads this, thanks for nothing, you guys are completely worthless.No longer final edit: TechMedics I just saw your commercial and physically recoiled you guys really cant do anything right can you.
