A bearing and the axle on our boat trailer blew on the parkway at 2pm on a Saturday as we were headed to VT and we brought it directly to their shop. From the very first moment they answered our panicked phone call to the moment we drove off the lot, they provided us with exceptional customer service and support. I don’t know how they did it but they repaired our axle and everything else that was needed to get us back on the road and headed to VT by 4:30pm. Go here!!! This is a family owned business for three generations. Almost 15 years ago, I felt that my current mechanic started to overcharge me. Dont know what changed but something began to feel off.Im a single parent of a special needs child on a limited income. I cant throw money away. So, I had to start looking around for someone else. I called up Rayco and spoke to Steven who quoted me a far lower price on the brakes that I needed and I went to him.Since then, they have done every repair under the sun and always gave me a good deal on tires. Jake, Stevens son, now works with his father and they have taken care of me well.They would take me to my car and show me exactly what it wrong. If my car is a hazard to me and my daughter, he does his very best to convince me to do what is necessary to keep us safe. He makes us feel like family. I even recently bought a vehicle from him and it drives like a dream.Look, I dont know anything about cars. I do know how to read people well, though. So, if you want a mechanic that is looking out for your safety and not his pocket, then this is the place to go. I stand by everything that he will tell you and you and your family will be safe while your budget wont be hit unnecessarily.

I heard a strange noise from my car and brought it here. They took a look at my breaks and didnt find anything wrong. Steve the owner rode it around the block with me and pointed out that the noise was mild rust from it raining. Quick, friendly, efficient and cost me nothing. Good mechanics who wont lie to you for your money.

They talked me through the mods they would need to do to make my after market exhaust fit. Even with a couple of cuts and a weld they got me off and running in only 2 hours and the exhaust fit was perfect. The price was lower than I was expecting with the mods. Hide yo kids, Hide yo wives... the environment at Rayco Total Auto Repair is very obnoxious. I was there waiting to get my tire plugged..a simple fix they said..I WAITED 1 HOUR. for a simple fix..Also I would like to thank the sailor mouthed employees teaching my 1 year old new words.

I came in to get a tire plugged and was told that I will have to wait 45 minute. Five minutes later someone else came in to have his tire plugged. The same person who told me there is a 45 minutes wait tells this new customer “no problem, we’ll take care of it right away.” I understand that I’m not a regular customer, and was willing wait 45 minutes for something that literally takes 5 minutes, but putting someone else in front of me is not acceptable.

Had my daughters car towed for an altinator, they found and fixed a few other things. Over 2k in work. Welp 3 weeks later and her car broke down again. Brought it to another place and were told its not worth fixing. That we should have been told about the 12 other codes that would have come up the first time. Since I was there, Ive had about 20 people tell me to NEVER go there. Her father has apparently called them several times and has not received a call back.

They didnt fix the problem. Seems like I got charged $600 for a blown fuse. Now I am paying and spending more time getting towed to somewhere else.

An honest mechanic is worth their weight in gold. Car was dead. Was told by another shop that my car needed a whole new starter. Rayco replaced the battery and off I went.

Rayco Auto Repair is amazing! Super friendly and courteous group of people. I am EXTREMELY protective of my car so Im hesitant to bring my car to anyone I dont trust. I have a mechanic up in North Jersey that I trust but obviously its not easy to always go back up there for things. After seeing such good reviews I decided to try out Rayco. Im glad I did. I brought my car in twice for two things. First was a new set of tires. I shipped to Rayco via TireRack, it was super easy and Rayco was fast and did a perfect job. They have enough capacity to where they fit me in easily whenever was convenient for me. The second thing was a few weeks later I was trying to take my wheels off and my locking wheel lug nut broke. I spent hours trying to take it off myself. I gave up and took it to Rayco. I expected for it to be difficult, but Rayco was able to get it off in just a few minutes (shows how useless locking nuts are). Theyve made me a customer for life for which Im very grateful.

I had a horrible experience they charged me almost 2000 for a catalytic converter on my 2014 Chevy Cruz . I went in for a squeaking noice they never addressed the next day the light came back and after weeks and weeks of not knowing i failed inspection and went back Jake sent me to Chevy dealer up the street who I paid 100 dollars to and they told me he put a defective catalytic converter in . I went back and he insisted they were wrong and it was the engine so he replace catalytic converter again and now three months later I still need a catalytic converter light is back on and I took it to meineke and another place for diagnosis both gave estimates of 1300 for catalytic converter. I am a widow on fixed income and can’t afford to fix my car which I love and am devastated over this

Don’t buy used tires here!Came in looking for 1 simple tire and witch was a very common size.the staff sold me 2 different tires witch had holes in the side wall,a total safety hazard..the one thing I will say is I did reserve my money back, but I wasted a lot of time coming here .. buyers beware .

Ive used their services a few times on while visiting from Canada to the Eatontown/Red Bank area over the past year or so including my most recent road trip last week. Ive had nothing but fantastic service from these folks. They met all of my expectations for the required tire service. I would certainly recommend them.

I think these are honest good people, I was looking up their number, and came on this site..Ill be going back for a few issues that are under warranty with them..But its good to know there are honest mechanics now a day....Steve is very good, family business....👍

IF i could do 1/4 of a star i would. This place is a total rip off. My car broke down on the Garden State Parkway and unfortunately this was the closest place to tow to. These ccrooks charged $100 for a diagnosis and claimed it was the transmission . They suggested I try some special fluid which costs $250. In desperation i agreed but of course that didnt work and now Im screwed out of $350 plus the original tow of $93. I go to pay for the vehicle and they tried to add $38 for taxes but that should have been conveyed over the phone . Bottom line after an additional $140 my car is being towed to my house until I can have an honest mechanic look at it. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THESE CROOKS!!!!!!

Ordered tires from Tire Rack and had them delivered to Rayco. Because I needed some high performance brakes and parts installed I decided to ask them while I was at it what the cost would be. I got a good feeling from them while on the phone so decided to have them do it. They were cheaper than other quote I had and they were done in a day. Not only that Steve found another item that needed fixed, but is something under warranty so he could have not bothered to tell me or just ignored it. He took me out and explained it to me. Honestly I would never have known, so thanks, let dealer know and have it on record so they can look at it.

Dont go to this place. Called for a price on 2 Truck Tires. They said he would beat the other prices I got for new cooper tires. I had them put them on the truck when i came back they were a different name brand not cooper. So i told them to take them off they were not happy I cought them. They put the coopers on the truck about a few months latter both tires blew out and on the inside of the tire you could see how they used a grinder to make this happen. They are total Scums. As to there Response they were not used tires if you read to post it says new cooper tires. And I wish i had the Receipt still because I would have press charges against you.

I was driving down to a wedding in New Jersey from Vermont when my 2001 BMW 530i broke down. I work on cars, but did not have any tools so I had to have it towed to a shop and this was the closest one. I had surmised it was the alternator or alternator fuse that had gone bad, but had no extra fuses or an alternator. I wanted to make it to the wedding so I thought these guys might be able to make things work. I asked them multiple times to check the fuses as it seemed like the fuse had gone bad... They got it running and got me back home by jumping the starter terminals and said I couldnt turn the car off.So, yes they got me back on the road and got me back home, but after 15-30 minutes in my own garage I had sourced it to a bad fuse (hard to find no doubt), but nonetheless I found it and when I called them to ask for a partial refund because they did not actually fix it and clearly didnt look at the fuses the owner gave me many excuses and it was too bad he couldnt agree to a partial refund as I would have had a more positive review. Everyone makes mistakes and they did end up getting me home, but their follow through was not good and neither was their attention to detail... Finally, I noticed when I got home that the intake air boot was missing a clamp and the air filter had not been re secured correctly. This happened on July 29, 2017.

They took the time to explain my required repair in detail, before I agreed to having the work done.

Have my car for almost over a month now said waiting for a trans so I understand that then says should be done 2 days later call them said now battery shot that is only month old and a 160$ battery then keeps comeing up with reasons not done now 2 weeks after they installed trans still have my car will never go back ever again.

Did a good job with AC on my old Benz. Tried them out for brakes on my Dodge truck and did a good job, priced well. Would go back again for next repair.

I had my truck worked on and inspected at Pep boys the day before i took it to Rayco. Pep boys had to redo a worn out bearing, that they replaced 6 months prior, I had them change the rear breaks and if need be replace one of the calipers, that I knew was seized. They told me they cleaned the posts and that it didnt need to be replaced, so I thought great, until later that day I had to drive to Lakewood, and the rear brakes were SMOKING. I took it back to Pep boys, and they told me I would have to have it replaced, which I told them in the first place. I also had Pep boys check the front suspension because I heard a noise every time I hit the uneven driveway by my house. They found NOTHING, and told me it was fine. The next day I went to Rayco for just an exhaust leak, they fixed that in about 15 mins, then I had them take a look at my brakes that Pep boys screwed up, they replaced the caliper, using better parts than Pep boys and replaced all my brake fluid. When the work was done they took it off the lift drove it 15 feet and my drivers side upper control arm bushing broke and the tire was just hanging there. They replaced it right there on the spot and reinspected my front end, they found several worn parts, that needed to be replaced. They were replaced that same day.If that bushing wouldve broken on Rt 35 someone could have died. I have 2 children, that regularly ride with me. Jake and his father saved my familys life. We wouldve been dead or at least had a smashed up truck.When I went back to Pep boys to tell them they didnt check my front end, they told me they did and that everything was fine, that they didnt find anything wrong, and would not reimburse me the cost of the inspection.Lesson learned, Ill never give Pep boys another red cent and will only take any and all of my vehicles to Jake at Rayco. They work faster, and use better parts than Pep boys, and are much friendlier. The grandfather even entertained my son while we waited.

Steve is a cheat....if you are a women run.... They are very nasty and rude. The tow trucks are horrible I dont even know why D.O.T even allow them on the road... AAA needs to pull their contract from them.... A very dishonest and unprofessional ..place.

I purchased used car from them. I inspected the car and paid in full. We picked up the car few days later, car didnt sound the same. After inspection we discovered that catalytic converter was removed from exhaust system and piece of pipe was welded in place of catalytic converter!!!!!!, catalytic converter was still on the car when we paid for it!!!!,People who run this place are the most crooked people I ever met!!!Do your self a favor and stay away !!!

My Dad and I both get vehicles repaired there. They have been honest with me and when something was not worth being repaired, or was just a little worn and not needed replacement just yet, they tell me.
