They are the best. I took my car for service and did a great job. I do have a smooth ride now. I can’t recall the name but to be honest they say what they do.
Respect for giving cars new life!
Best bang for the buck. Awesome technicians and the price is competitive. I would recommend BMW and Benz owners to try this place for servicing/repairing your cars.
If you own a BMW or Mercedes, use them. They have serviced my last 4 cars.
Best mechanics around! They treat your car as if it was their own. Wouldnt trust anyone else with my vehicle
Very genuine and honest service.
This is the best repair shop Ive ever been to! I had my BMW for a 25 years now and it took me a long time to find a reliable shop that I can trust. If you dont want a headache then call/visit them!!
One of friends highly recommended this shop. I was very impressed by the level of service they provided. Sergio really took the time to explain my options. Work was completed in a timely manner. They were pleasant to deal with, and did not to try to oversell work like most places. I would definitely recommend this shop.
Best German car repair in the area!!!
Made things work
I have a fairly new (for me) 2014 Mercedes GL350 with approximately 70,000 miles that developed a stretched timing chain. I bought the car new and maintain it per the recommendations and intend to keep it for at least another 5 years. This is the 3.0 Bluetec Diesel OM642 engine. The stretched timing chain didnt trigger any warning lights but made an obvious rattle for a few seconds after cold start and sometimes a long crank to start when cold.Mercedes of Union did diagnostics on the car and concluded that this would require a new $32k engine replacement. (there were no lights/codes on the car) They offered no repair for the engine just a complete replacement. MB USA also did not offer assistance. After hearing this news I took the car to German Car Shop and spoke with Sergio. He did some research, including calling a M-B dealership to learn more about the issue and possible remedy. He was confident that a repair could be done and German Car Shop performed a repair to replace the timing chain with an available M-B kit and the car is like new again. Ive put about 3,000 miles on the car since the repair and it is like new.I can really recommend this independent repair shop based on my experience. My independent BMW mechanic recommended German Car Shop for this repair so that also says something.
Like to pay too much and get less customer service? Take your car here! First encounter:My windshield washer system would not work. Took it to these guys and they said I needed to replace the onboard computer system for $2,000. Mind you that the computer system shows no other sign of malfunction. I took it to another nearby German Auto place. they said I just need a replacement pump. The cost including labor? $150.Second Encounter:We had below zero cold temperature here in NJ, causing my 12 year old battery on a 328i to finally give up. I asked German Car Shop guy for a quote: $300 for battery + $200 for labor. He said it is likely that I need a new alternator at a cost of another $300. So the entire cost would be close to $1,000. Again, I took it to another German place. The full battery replacement cost $350.As I note above, if you like to pay more, go here!
SAME PRICE AS THE DEALERSHIP. It was my second time going to this shop. I Had an appointment scheduled on Saturday at 8 am for an oil change, i was there on time, they asked me if i want to change the air filter as well and i said okay. The bill was $385 for an OIL CHANGE AND TWO FILTERS. Go to the Dealer that is the same exact money I would have paid at Ray Catena.
I was highly recommended to this place through friends. They are always helpful and honest with me. Very nice people. Using them for 4 years now. I am very pleased.
I brought my 9 year old Mercedes in for a basic service and a brake job. These guys are professional, have a clean shop, and dont try to sell you unnecessary services. The work was completed in a timely fashion, and I was contacted with a detailed price quote before they performed any repairs. The pricing was also fair, and far less expensive than brining the car into the dealer. Ive always struggled to find a reliable independent shop, and am happy that I finally found one. I will definitely be back for future services.
Only place I take my CLK 320. I recommend them to everyone
Best shop in town
Took my car for the first time for bad motor and trans mounts. Guys in there are extremely helpful and professional. Wouldnt trust anyone else with my Mercedes! Highly recommended shop!
Fantastic work very speedy and professional guys
I have serviced my 2003 and 2008 5 series BMW here and am always satisfied with the repair, service and cost. This is the best indy Ive found since moving here from the west coast 2 years ago. I will continue to service my vehicles here and will refer anyone I know needing service to them as well.
Weve been taking our BMWs and Mercedes Sprinter to the German Car Shop for years. The service writers do an excellent job of not only diagnosing problems but more importantly explaining & suggesting which preventative maintenance or part replacement should be done do avoid more costly repairs down the road. They have the car ready when promised at a price thats way more reasonable then the dealer. Its rare that you find this level of integrity & value in the service business today, these guys are top notch.
Excellent place to bring my BMW for repairs. Veru good, honest and pleasant people to talk to! Special mention Rob, Sergio and Cage
Best of the best. Recommended by several friends with Mercedes and BMW cars, I initially went to them for a used car pre-inspection on one car, and wound up purchasing a used BMW 525, just perfect for my daughter, that they happened to have. (They occasionally have used cars for sale.) Rob, Sergio and their team couldnt be kinder and more patient. The car is terrific, and when it had a few minor issues that I was concerned about, they checked it out immediately, and issues were easily resolved. They are busy as heck, because they are so very good at what they do, but they are honest about scheduling, (if they can not take your car on a particular day, they will tell you) and they are super at communicating. I even took the car back to them to get four new tires as we were coming up on the winter and wanted my daughter to be as safe as possible. :) I recommend them to everyone, and will be bugging them soon to be on the lookout for another used vehicle for my soon to be 17 year old.
Great place to get your BMW OR MB repaired always treat you like family
Not just no... BUT HELL NO! I used to have an 2004 BMW 530i e60. (Sold it for a newer BMW) First issue was I came in for a coolant leak, they found the issue... Great! So instead of calling me on the phone, telling me what it was and how much it was gonna cost, without my authorization they just went ahead and billed me $450 for the repair... I was not happy about, I never asked for it to be fixed, I asked for the diagnosis and expected to be told what the issue was and how much it was going to cost, 2nd time around.... They did something regarding my battery, and left the battery cover loose and battery exposed, that was the last straw. If you love your bimmers DO NOT GO HERE. Completely lost my business forever. If you want a good shop! Hit up Supercars Garage instead in Metuchen. Great group of guys over there! And they did an excellent job servicing my e60.
This place used to provide good service, lately they bit of money minded and diagnosis are not that great.
I have taken both a S430 and an E500 for service there and both times came out impressed and paid less than dealers. Helps that they use MB parts for everything and turn around fast. I will be taking my CL500 there as well for regular service.
Mechanics are awesome. They do good work for reasonable price
Excellent place to have your car serviced. Reasonably priced.
Pretty much dissatisfied with service. bought in my 7 series for a rear air suspension replacement. After the job was completed I picked up my vehicle which was left with German Car Shop in perfect working condition (except the rear air suspension obviously) an hour after bringing the vehicle home I get a warning message that my sos system is malfunctioning. after 2 minutes my navigation screen goes blank. I bring back the car to GCS and was told that the amp is bad and needs to be replaced. I asked how could my amp be bad when I bought it in in perfect working condition. theyre explanation to me was it happens especially with 7 series I than said how does it happen immediately after this repair though? a lot of shoulder shrugs and no real explanation was all I received. after a couple of minutes of them asking me to leave the car as they would have an electrical guy come and check I honestly lost faith in the place and decided to bring my vehicle somewhere else. Its really sad as GCS has done excellent work in the past on my 7 series but this time I really felt like they dropped the ball on my vehicle and I couldnt take the chance of them messing something else up and it snowballing into an excessive bill..
Excellent, knowledgeable and timely service. Having been using them since 1982 when I bought my first Mercedes 240D.
An honest shop. They repair what is needed without adding in things.
Quite frankly, I was concerned because I wanted to switch up my Indy mechanic for my mint 89 560SL... Rolfs in Summit and Phils in Nutley were too expensive....Theyre ok but pricey and upsell- especially Phils . My 107 was running a little rough and I knew it needed new spark plugs.; but I thought it might need distrib cap, rotors, wires etc. along with fuel line and filter issues. Sergio and Rob were great. They looked over the entire Benz and said a lot of what ai wanted was serviceable. Yes to new plugs but basically clean out the fuel distributor and throw in a new Fuel filter. And no need for new wires or distributor. They are outstanding and the car is running like new. I highly recommend anyone who has a 107 SL to go to them . Prompt and professional!JD
I was very confused with the previous review and was very apprehensive giving my car for service. I was very impressed with the work that was done. Had the same work been done by the dealership, it would have costed me thousands more than what they charged me. I got a complete tranny flush, coolent flush, engine oil change and fuel filter change. Also got the plug wires changed. All of this they did at a very reasonable price. My Merc is back on the road riding as it was the day I drove it off the dealership lot.Very good communication throughout the work and letting you know what it would cost you upfront before performing any work. Very impressive. I should say that the previous person might have had a one off experience or might have had an expectation mismatch. And yes, they only take cash, certified check or money order. Wish they accepted credit cards. It would save time of having to do a pit stop at the bank.-PJ
The only shop i trust to service my two BMW E24s
Excellent and honest!!!
