Would not recommend! I asked for an oil change, new wipers, and a inspection of the car. I asked him to check everything tires, brakes, fluids, etc. My bill even includes a list of what was checked. One item on that list was lights. When I left the meineke after paying, I noticed my one headlight was out. I went back and asked them about it they said they didn’t check it. But it was included on the the list of what was checked. How am I to trust anything on that list was checked when the simplest item wasn’t? He told me that he was told he was only doing a oil change and wipers. I told him that I asked for everything to be checked. He said they don’t check everything for $34 (price of oil change). But a light check is included on my bill with the list of everything checked! I told him I didn’t ask for them to be included I was just told they were. I would have paid whatever the amount to check everything is. He didn’t even have a light to replace it with so I couldn’t even get it replaced while I was there. Basically I didn’t get what I asked for, I wanted to make sure my car was in good shape and I don’t trust anything was checked. Also it was overpriced, $87 for oil change and new wipers.

Came in for an oil change, and the staff starting yelling at me for taking too long to decide what service I want. Literally screaming out that they do not want business because they are understaffed and have enough jobs lined up! The chances of visiting any of their locations are close to a rooster hatching an egg, or a pig flying to the moon!!!

What a freaking scam. Instead of ordering a new muffler he jerry rigged the exhaust to work. Now stock items will not fit. Need to replace resonator pipe and mufflers to fix correctly

Bad attitude of staff..I went to inquire about the repair of my exhaust system and how much it would cost. Instead of just talking through the person bluntly told me to come only if I am ready to do the repair. I repeatedly asked if he can give me the approx cost then I can decode and repair it tight away. He continuously told me that he will answer only if I put my car right now.Many times I have put my car for repair and have decided not to do some maintenance just because of the fact that I can live with that or delay the repair.This outlet seems to be working different.would never return to this store and hope my review help more people to decide not go to them.

ZERO STARS!!!! I got my car towed there to get my brakes fixed and I know my car wont turn over due to it being out of gas and the owner was absolutely SOOOO DISRESPECTFUL!!! Cursing! Condescending! All the above! No wonder this location is rated like garbage! Go to any other Meineke, JUST NOT THIS ONE!

I think this is a good place. However long wait time and just way too pricey. The price can literally be half of what I paid for the brakes lol. But I do appreciate the service.

Since I moved to NJ, I was using Meineke Newark, I moved recently to Edison1836 Route 27, Lincoln Hwy, Edison, NJ 08817 and found Meineke near to my house, I went there for servicing..I heard thats family owned,so what John may be the owner, he need to answer the questions posted by customers,he is short tempered and we need to listen what he says and we should not ask any questions..any way opted service of him from 500$ ...not sure whether he did properly or not fingers crossed...This guy is using foul language while addressing issues ...Not recommended ..very disappointed...

Fast oil change. I came in on Monday and it took less than 35 min.

I call Saturday and ask if I come I can do the check up my car exhaust he told me told is busy they can do on week days 8am 4pm so I went Monday morning When i went to check my exhaust .the guy on the front desk told me I need to agree to fix it even he don’t want check and tell me how much it will cost! how can I agree without know the cost ! And he say if it’s more cost I can apply for credit card and interest free monthly payments 😖 he saying it not free inspection, I didn’t go for a free inspection! i need to find out how much will cost for fixing and I have to decide do it today or couple of week that’s my choice why I need to go for credit ! it’s a very poor service they offered so never going back!

I went in and did some work on my exhaust. They solved my problems. John took care of my car. He was a very nice guy. I read previous negative reviews. I did not encounter any of them. I respect the shops policy and they took care of me very well. I made my appointment, instead of just showing up and arrogantly expect service like some customers. I gave them time to diagnose my car. I did not rush to get an answer. They called me and gave me the details and a set of option plans. They did not ask me to pay up front. I understand this shop and others have the right to ask for diagnosis fee. Nobody in America should work for free. Diagnosing is consider work. I think some customers are just cheap and will try play games to get things for free. You will see customers like these all over town. My advice to prospective customers is give the shopowners respect and adhere to their policies and build a relationship.

They were quick and thorough checking things out and doing my oil change. They talked me through their thoughts and what they saw on their complimentary 23 point inspection. John was friendly and super helpful!

Very unprofessional people. They are lying with people. Showing one price, charging different amount. So many drama inside. Moreover included shop supplies $20.33 extra but I have no idea what was that. I asked the explanation but they didnt give me any answer. I complained to their customer service department, didnt get back.

It costed me $350 (after $25 coupon) for rear brake pads without replacing rotors. They also suggested replacing front brake pads. The dealer told me a week ago that front ones are good. I also checked. It is really with good condition. Why they suggest replacing it? First, they are not honest and try to steal more money from your wallet. Secondly they over charged for labors. I also contacted with help desk and has not got the reply. Stay away from this shop!! I will never go to this brand. Very bad experience there.

Jay was very helpful from the first time I came into the shop. He looked out for me better than anyone has ever been when dealing with mechanics. He gave me the proper information about my vehicle and got right to work when I needed his service the most. If I could give him 10 stars I would . WE NEED MORE WORKERS LIKE JAY!

Very helpful service at this meineke. I went in for a routine oil change, but left with a better understanding of my how my vehicle works. John explained why my rotors keep needing replacement, as well as a potential issue with my pump. All the while I did not feel pressured like he was simply upselling. Would definitely recommend.

I made appointment online. I got confirmation. When I came they said they doesnt have oil filter for my car. And they asked me to wait around half hour they can bring it and start changing oil. I left facility to find other place to change oil.

Very professional, honest and thorough

Went with my own oil, my own filter for an oil change. Thought it was gonna be 24.99 as advertised. The bill ended up being over 80 dollars before tax, I didnt go through with it.That price for an oil change is criminal. It could be because Im a teen and being taken advantage of. Be careful.

My exhaust pipe broke in 2 and I first took it to Midas because theyre closer to my house, they told me I needed to come back next week for a whole new exhaust system at over $1500!! I took it here for a second opinion and Jay had me fixed and out the door in 2 hours for less than $200 bucks. He was friendly, attentive, patient and took the time to explain what he was doing. Brought my 00 Sebring in just for the free break inspection on a Saturday not expecting to get anything done since It would probably be busy on a Saturday and wasnt sure what kind of quote they would offer. After all was said and done, they told me exactly what I needed and after my go ahead got to work right away and finished in about an hour and a half... on a Saturday and even topped off my power steering fluid when the noticed it was low at no charge. The price for brake pads and rotors was more than reasonable. Definitely will go back for anything that my car needs.

I always go to Jay cause he is knowledgeable and fair. Never have issues and they take care of the repair quickly!

Brought my Toyota Rav 4 here for front brakes. When I picked up my car I heard an obnoxious gurgling and grinding. About a week later I brought my car back and they said there was nothing wrong. After another two weeks, I brought my car to my Toyota dealership and they said that the front brakes were missing parts and installed incorrectly. What a rip off. Not honest people at all. I would never recommend doing business here.

Beware do not use this facility. They worked on my vehicle and after returning it to them 3 times for a noise in the brakes that they repaired being told by them that there was no problem, the wheel bearings that they said they repacked seized up costing me $323.00 to repair. They obviously lied to me 3 times when they told me everything was good. And by the way wasted my time contacting meineke corporate. They suggested I get a refund from the shop who did the job. Ill bet thats gonna happen. Next step is to contact help me Howard and news four on your side for further help.

Pathetic customer service..the person on the front desk was very rude to say the least. I went there recently after I was facing some issue with the brakes of my corolla. He examined the brakes of my car and gave me a hefty estimate of $500.I responded that I need some time to think after which he immediately lowered down the estimate to $390 and pushed me to get it repaired ASAP otherwise my brakes can catch fire (really??)I denied and said I still need some time to think. He then went on and said he is wasting his time with me. I was frustrated and annoyed at his behavior.I asked him promptly to get my car out and will think about the repair work. He very rudely turned to his worker and told him to get the damn car out.Meineke staff if you are listening, you need to get that person on line otherwise you are losing on business.

He probably is diluting Meinekes reputation.These guys take an hour and half for oil change and a not so complicated 23 pt inspection, then come up with hefty quotes. I wish Id seen the ratings before going there.One star is for the technician who wasnt rude, at least.

These guys are the biggest crooks Ive ever dealt with, and judging by the other Google reviews I am not the only person these cockroaches have tried to rip off. I bought an older Civic and took it there to diagnose a power steering leak since it was raining and I didnt want to do it myself. They quoted me $800 and told me they would have to pull the AC compressor, run dye through the system to find the leak, and custom fabricate a power steering cooler since Honda didnt make them anymore. All of which is BS: Took the car to my friends dads shop only to find out my car doesnt have a power steering cooler and the culprit was a simple torn hose, easily visible to the naked eye. What a bunch of filthy crooks. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEY WILL MAKE THINGS UP AND TRY TO SCREW YOU.

Took my money, needed warranty work, and Jay didn’t pay my issue any serious attention. Had to take it to a Meineke in south Plainfield who charged me to do warranty work. After this experience I now believe all the other bad reviews.

Been coming here for awhile now, very professional and in and out quickly with great service!

I had my car break down across the street of Meineke, and though I thought it was a blessing, it was a terrible curse in disguise. Ill cut the bs, these guys overcharged me on every initial quote (I had two seperate repairs done one after the other) before I was able to negotiate the price down by at least 50%. The first repair, I was told that there was an 85% chance it would be the right fix.. it wasnt. The next repair, which was much more expensive, was diagnosed to be the 100% fix.. it wasnt. The second I drove the car off the lot, my car fails on me a block away.The entire process of negotiations and fix time took about two weeks, with no real initiative done on the technicians ends, and a LOT of sleaziness in terms of negotiating prices.Take your vehicle to the many other competent places within the area, your vehicle and wallet will surely appreciate it.

One of the worst people on earth to do car service. when I went there, there was a kid may be 7 or 8 years old sitting in the front office. the kid was very rude and impolite. The mechanics who were working never came outside..the mechanic was very bad in customer service....they made me wait for 30 minutes. this is worst car service center i have ever went. would have given negative star...

I can only give 1 star because there is nothing lower than that, I wish there was negative star. Took my truck there for delayed response when you step on the gas & Headlight light bulb change The Employee there called me back an hour later stating that they have to change the transmission filter among other things $1700 later upon picking the car up, I realize I was charged $145 for light bulb & $ 1 something for labor total $256. Problem is, there was no light bulb changed LOL. I still had a non functioning headlight driver side. So upon questioning he states that he has to order a bulb its not easy to find but he had already charged me ( how did he even know the cost ) I knew what kind of person I was dealing with, so i asked for a refund for the headlight bulb plus labor which he told me to come back the next day because I do not know how to do refund so I came back 7 days later and the same guy tells me that he is busy fixing another customers brakes and that I should sit and wait till 4pm ( This was at 11AM ) Or if I cant wait he will call me back. I insisted on having my $$ back. This is when the Employee *CHARGED* at me and threatened to beat me up ( If the have cameras, they can pull this up ) I left to avoid any further escalation. Todate 15 days later, I am yet to receive a refund or my light bulb. Now am calling Amex to investigate and am sure the laundry list that he claimed he did on the car amounting to $1700 he did not do. If you can lie about changing an obvious item like a light bulb, imagine under the hood

I took for my car for a check up as I suspected it had an exhaust leak. I assume the mechanic took my car to the garage to inspect it but he brought it back in about 3 minutes. He claimed by muffler was completely broken and I needed a new one as well as a new tail pipe, which would all cost nearly $350. When I told him I would need to think about it, he immediately told me that he could give me a discount but I would need to schedule an appointment right then and there. I brought the car to the Meineke in Piscataway and the mechanic brought me in to the garage and showed me exactly where the leak was and what needed to be done: a small section of the pipe was rusted and he only needed to cut that piece out and replace it. Total cost= $65.

Customer service at Edison Meinikein was really bad.we need to talk about our car to a rep, but a 8 or 9 yr old boy was at front desk who was talking very rudely. The rep who we need to talk was also not good. we were one of the unfortunate customers who had done car service in this auto shop.

SIMPLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNREASONABLE............. Quote 4 times Higher than market. Never ever will go through that street even. i.e Quote 1000$, real market Quote 250$. Guess what I pass through. Went in because of the half off brake pads promo. They said that I needed to get my rotars replaced, but I said no. This apparently voids the special offer. They proceeded to remove my pads, and after the job is done, he tells me the problem is actually the rear brake lines and itll cost 300 or more to fix. I left at this point. Couldnt trust these people.

Came here once and heard some very disturbing and offensive conversation among the employees while waiting for my car to get repaired. They did a good job with my car but they never got my business again. Terribly unprofessional.
