My children have been patients of Dr. Martin for 6yrs now. He knows their names, and is always very thorough with his exam. They are upfront when you ask about prices on any frames, and added costs for different types of lenses/coatings. I have never had any issues with them. My oldest now wears contacts and the couple times she’s lost one and we were waiting on a box they gave her a pair to wear no questions asked. The office staff is very friendly, and we’ve never been treated poorly.
Staff here are nice Dr is nice however. My son is special needs non verbal. Now we have gotten 3 pairs of glasses after breaking a pair had them re order them. Now i would think they will be the same glasses? No we got there and the frames are not the ones from before but they didnt check to be sure there was no mix up just assured me they are same. They are not same and all three pair are different measurement. The distance between the eyes of your glasses is critical to your vision and they didnt even bother to be sure he has been given the correct frames will be moving on to the next eye Dr.
The optometrist is great and takes time out of his day to answer any question. The staff is helpful and the entire establishment feels family friendly.
They always bill both my health and eye insurance for an eye exam. No where else does this. Not worth the money. They messed up my wifes prescription three times.
I went to Martin Eye Clinic on September 4th. I had already been to my eye doctor, so I had my script. The ladies were friendly but they were all telling me things at the same time. When it was all said and done, I owed $339.00, I was not given any prices or told how much my insurance paid, I just owed $339., which I paid $289. In cash. My glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 days. Well today is September 21, and I still dont have my glasses. I really wish I wouldnt paid in cash, because I dont think, this is reputable establishment, and Im just out the money. I would advise you to go anywhere but Martin Eye Clinic!!!!
The optometrist was very nice and did a good job. My low review is for their office staff. I tried 3 times to get my daughters prescription and I still dont have it!! I wont be going back.
We had a bad experience July 16, 2020.My 90 year old mother in law just released from the hospital had an appointment. She has a lump in her lower eye lid. No one in the office had masks on. Not other patients or staff members. When she asked about it they were indifferent about it. They did not get a mask to examine her. It is impossible to social distance and touch someone’s face for the diagnosis. This type of behavior helps spread the corona virus. We will not return
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.I was there in Jan 2020 and just reviewed my insurance billing, $542.00 for a eye exam. REALLY !! Plus they charged me a another $40.00 for a co-pay that the insurance also paid them for. I would be ashamed to run a business like this. Ive contacted my insurance company also. You can get a better eye exam at Walmart or other discount stores for a fraction of this cost....
Staff are friendly and i asked for teal glasses and they brought me straight to my dream glasses.
Amazing eye doctor-especially for young children. I absolutely LOVE this office and would never go anywhere else!!
Dr. Martin is phenomenal! The person who gave a 1-star review is off their rocker, because Dr. Martin has always been extremely thorough and pleasant to deal with. Highly recommend!
Overpriced and poor customer service. They have not adapted their business model to compete in todays market. As many eye doctors do, they refused to place pupil distance on the prescription. I asked them for this information because: 1. We had purchased a pair of glasses through Martin Eye Clinic 2. My son broke them in 4 months and 3. I wanted an inexpensive back up pair for him (which Martin Eye Clinic provided no inexpensive second options). I think its silly to lose 5 customers over something so readily available on the internet as how to measure pupil distance. But thats what Martin Eye Clinic just accomplished. We will not do business with you again.
I have been to three other eye clinics in the FW area & never felt like I had a thorough or accurate exam for our children (switched each year). Many moms recommended Martin Eye Clinic so I took our daughter for her exam. Dr. Martin was absolutely wonderful. He was patient, kind, & thorough. His bedside manner was some of the best Ive witnessed with kids (Im a pediatric nurse so Ive seen a lot of patient interaction!). He explained things to me, did not rush or get frustrated when my daughter took awhile to respond, & asked both of us questions to prescribe the best vision correction. I am honestly thankful to have found Martin Eye Clinic. I will be scheduling my special needs sons exam there soon. Ive dreaded taking him for exams but I sincerely know Dr Martin will do excellent with making me & my son comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful experience that met our childs needs.
I would NOT recommend. They have a revolving door of office staff which seems to show they have as much regard for their staff as they do their patients. They were unwilling to release our records to our new doctor but wanted me to drive to their office to sign a release, which I had already signed and sent from the new doctor, and would then charge $20 per member of our family to give us the record. They also stated that the new doctor should not care about our history as they should want to “start fresh.” In my experience, any type of doctor would want to see patient history. Do not get yourself involved with this clinic - they have one concern - $$$.
I was very disappointed Dr. Martins work ethic, and his staff is incredibly mean and rude; especially the chunky/FAT brunette. I have never felt more unwelcome in any place at all in my life...The glasses that I got came pre-damaged as well!Do NOT GO!
They charge the max possible fee allowable under HIPAA law for medical records. Poor form - most places in my experience work with you for your medical records and data (that belong to you!) if you should need them in a one-off scenario, and if there is a fee, it is very minimal. We have left the practice due to this. Also costs seem slightly above average compared to other providers.
Our family went to Martin Eye clinic a few years ago and felt like they provided quality care; however it was clear that they charged for things that other eye doctors didn’t. I was blown away how high my bill was time and time again even after running through insurance. In the end we left the practice purely for economic reasons.I went to another doctor this week and we discussed requesting my records to know my contact lens information. I laughed when I was told that they have a reputation for charging for patients to receive their records. Then I learned that, when requested, they informed my new doctor that I was never a patient with them!Suffice it to say customer satisfaction is not a core value of this practice!
This place is a joke... save yourself time and money go to someone who takes your concerns seriously. I called my insurance to make sure my visit would be covered they come back saying it wasn’t. Maybe it’s just me but iv worked in a doctors office and typically we verify insurance before seeing patients. This bill is now from December and I’m just finding out about it now? Why wouldn’t they get ahold me in the past 4 months to tell me about this? The only reason I found out about it was because I had to go back to get my eyes rechecked then she tells me on my way out. The doctor said my eyesight got a little worse but just take anti histamines... could’ve done that without wasting my time.
I’ve never complained about anything publicly or wrote a negative review anywhere but I strongly believe others need to be warned. Don’t go here unless you want to pay “premium” prices for everything!! We have good eye insurance buy it was basically useless here. I couldn’t really get an explanation from the insurance lady other than they bill everything as “premium” so insurance doesn’t cover it.
Dr. Martin always takes his time and runs all the different eye tests himself unlike other clinics. He’s very personable and I’ve always had a great outcome with him.
I was very displeased with the lack of service the associates at Martin Eye Clinic provide. I can only imagine how much over billing this office does to their patients who do not examine their insurance and out of pocket expenses in detail. I was overcharged twice on each visit for my children after insurance paid their portion and when each time Im told some excuse on why I was charged that way for my out of pocket expenses. If you are looking for a physician in the Huntertown/North area I would advise not choosing Martin Eye Clinic for services. Im very displeased with their billing department as patients should have an accurate statement and should not have to do the math for them!!!! Peggy the billing specialist told me that the doctor was not going to accept the adjustment that the insurance was contracted to write off. When a physicians office has a contract with an insurance company you can not just pick and chose the adjustments you want to accept especially considering if the physician is IN-NETWORK!!
I took my 90 year old mother to this clinic today. I have made sure everyone she is around is wearing a mask and practicing CDC guidelines. Much to my surprise the doctor and other patients were not wearing masks. There appears to be a total disregard for the safety of others at this clinic.
Very rude doctors who didnt listen that my daughters prescription wasnt right. I had her examined by another optometrist and Dr. Martins prescription was way off and we discovered that she couldnt wear poly-carbonate lens.
After Dr. Martin got my prescription wrong twice I had to go to Vision Care Ophthalmology off of Lake.BBB
