Everett and his team has been so helpful to my family and I. From truck rental, to trailer hitch install and rental, and even just basic inquiries, the staff here has been open and informative, and all around helpful in every way. Given the volume of customers they get at this location, they provide awesome service, and have helped my transition from out of state go very smoothly.Thank you all, keep up the great work.
Very rude people at this location. I called concerned about my storage bill and was told that “the system raises rent every few months” which just isn’t true because if it was my rent would have gone up more over the years that I’ve had this unit. Even the manager was rude and gave the same lie of an excuse. Felt like I was just rushed off the phone because my concerns didn’t matter. And even after my card was updated for my auto pay the rep said “ok we’ll email you a receipt” and hung up without another word. Very port customer service. If you are in Greensboro NC and want to work with decent people go to the location on Gate City Blvd
I would highly recommend avoiding this location. I scheduled a U-Box to haul some basic necessities for a cross country move. The box was picked up and delivered back to this location by U-Haul labor help on April 22 for Guaranteed delivery to Denver, Colorado by May 8. A week later I get a call from this location asking me wheres your U-Box?. A bit disturbing. Well, your folks picked it up, hopefully returned it to your facility, and you must have lost it. A few hours later they track down the box and continue to Guarantee delivery by May 8. Feeling somewhat less confident about the Guarantee, but being re-assured May 8 was going to happen, I have airline tickets, rental car, and a number of other moving related expenses and activities lined up around this May 8 date. Today (May 4) I am notified by U-Haul that the Guarantee date has moved out to May 14. Extremely unreliable service, and a worthless Guarantee. Avoid U-Box, go with Pods or another more reliable competitor.
Had a reservation to pick up truck the day we moved. It said online RESERVATION GAURENTEE, yet when we pulled up to pick up our truck they did not have one. There was no truck in a 200 mile radius. Was told sorry, and to call corporate. Did that, stayed on hold for 58 min. Only to be answered by a very unprofessional staff member who was incredibly rude. She shouldnt be working in customer service. Told me she didnt know why in the hell it said Reservation Gaurentee when it was red on her end. I have used Uhaul to move since 2004 and I have moved 14 times since. I will NEVER use them again and I will let everyone know to go somewhere else. AND fyi the screenshot it was the Friendly Ave Airport location I had the issue with.
I truly appreciate the customer service I received on my moving day. It was already a stressful move and they were extremely accommodating extending my reservation time. Roadside assistance were responsive and supportive after we had some trouble with the battery on our truck and we were back on the road to complete the move. Thank you all so much for the work you do!
Fire everybody !!! Terrible customer service long wait booked reservation prior to arrival just to be told that the truck was in a total different city from the location which reservation was booked and basically due to them over booking for more trucks then they had they gave my rental away to another customer standing right next to me then tried to lie about it. Terrible customer service rude attitudes management should reconsider hiring new staff or new training !
The bathroom here is always gross, never clean. I was there for 3 weekends in a row and this was what it looked like, just got worse. The smell was so disgusting. Never any tissepaper either. When I told the office, I was told housekeeping takes care of that. No one bothered to even look at this mess, let alone clean it. They also lock sliding glass storage doors early when they can cleanly see folks are trying to move things. Also claims to be wheelchair accessible to...most definitely NOT!
I made a reservation 2 months in advance. 5 hours before I was supposed to pick up the vehicle, they told me they didn’t have it, and it’s too late to find an alternative.
Very pleasant experience at pick up and at drop off.Everyone I encountered was very helpful. The truck I rented was in excellent condition and was the perfect size. Overall excellent job by all.
Horrible customer service. I made my reservation online about 2 weeks ago. My appointment was at 8:30am. I was told it will take about 3 hours for Hitch installation. I returned 3 hours later and they told me to reschedule!! They didn’t even touch my car!!! They were rude and inconsiderate!!! Spoke with “the store manager” over the phone! I was basically yelled at for their mistake!! He told me they were double booked by mistake! Never apologized!!
I rented a 10” truck from this location and I must say that the customer service at this location was horrible. I had to wait for 10 minutes until the employee came back to get my rental. You could tell that the employee did not want to be there. He did not have a friendly demeanor. Then when my husband tried to return the truck, because I had gotten the wrong size the employee did not want to help him. I will not be going to this location again. Do not waste your time coming here.
Your experience will depend on who helps you, Ive had both very good and bad service at this location.I made a reservation and paid for a trailer hitch installation almost two weeks in advance, received a confirmation email and my cc was charged. When I arrived the first thing I was asked was if someone called me to come in... No, I have a confirmed reservation number with a date and time and nowhere does it say to wait for a call before coming in.They didnt have me on their schedule and the trailer hitch was not in stock. No solution offered other than youre gonna have to talk to the manager and figure it out. Cancelled my order and got one installed somewhere else.However, when I came back to rent a utility trailer the process was very smooth and a different associate (Erin) helped me that was very nice and helpful. The drop-off was also very easy so Ill be coming back.
Where to begin? It seems that every time I have used this location there is a problem. A few months prior, I received a van that had nearly flat tires. Most recently, I had reserved a truck via online check in to avoid going into the location without the keys being in the vehicle. After having gone inside to let them know, they told me that they should be in there. After running around asking all of the other employees where the keys were, they found them at the front desk.Due to unforeseen circumstances with our move, I needed and was very willing to pay an extension fee so we can have enough time to finish unloading. I explained our situation over the phone, and the representative proceeded to be profoundly inconvenienced and frustrated towards my request. I regret giving the courtesy of calling first thing this morning to let them know of the extension needed for the truck.By and large, most employees at this location are unprofessional, apathetic, and seem to be incredibly unhappy with their situation.
Went here to get a truck to move furniture for my business. Had an awful experience. Truck was filthy and I was charged for the cleaning fee. Corporate was no help and I was left cleaning their mud off of my furniture. Would never use again.
So you go there and BEWARE they lie!!! Total false advertising!! It’s not 19.95. It’s more like $38.50 for 1.5 hours and 20 miles and 12.00 in gas!! TAKE Pictures!!! They tell you tank is full!! But after you crank up it’s way less than full!! But your expected to fill it up on your dime!!! Such BS! Then their response is “ Did you take a picture??” Heck No!! You lied told me it was full. Then they charged another mile to drive across their parking lot. But tell me to fill it up replacing gas that wasn’t ever there!!!!
Very helpful staff and easy to get in and out of. I regularly rent a trailer for they day to move things around. It is quick, convenient, and inexpensive.
The general manager is super kind, considerate and helpful! She had her entire team help me with my truck and storage and I was out of there super fast. Would recommend to anyone!!!
These people do not know how to communicate to each other. I spoke to three different people last week, made a reservation, I called this morning to tell them I was on the way and they said I was not in the system, I have a child and I had a specific plan for moving today. They messed everything up and they did not have any other trucks for the size I wanted. They did not seem to care either. Will never go here again. You shouldn’t either. VERY UNHAPPY.
I guess I should have read the fine print. I rented a van for 8 hours, at $19.99. I return the truck to find they then charged almost $1 per mile driven as well as tax and gas, so my $20 rental became $85. Shady advertising.
Absolutely. WORST. Service. EVER! Simple installation of a hitch receiver on a sedan. Three visits required. Showed up for first visit only to be told they did not have the wiring (and apparently couldnt call to tell me beforehand). Couldnt get wiring harness so had to order myself. Second visit tells me its not a harness they work with since splicing apparently requires actual work. Return and get the quick connect harness they use (but still couldnt get). Third visit to install and the 1 to 1-1/2 hr visit takes over 4 hrs.Obviously do not understand customer service because when I finally locate someone to ask for an update, I am told I dont know, I guess Ill go check in a demeanor indicating theyd rather not. Apparently all the smiling faces in the promotional posters there are paid actors. Definitely not employees or customers.Easier to order needed tools on eBay and YouTube how to do it yourself. Faster, too!Dont get me wrong once they finally finished, the install is satisfactory just took 3 months to get done.Go anywhere else and youll be better off as far as customer service is required. Reason only one star; negative values not available.
They have little concern for the accuracy of their mileage fees. I drove 43 miles, or at most 44, and based on an obvious wrong record of miles at checkeckout, charged me for 77. They had no interest in entertaining the idea that they made a mistake at checkout. An extra 17 dollar charge might not seem like much, but for a working guy like me it means even smaller margins on a delivery. I highly recommend you go to one of the many smaller neighborhood locations. You’ll have more respectful service, and probably shorter wait lines.
Excellent customer service!! Rented a truck from another city, was suppose to be one way. Couldnt get the place on phone, so we either had to drive it back or pay triple for the other place mistake. KC excellent!! Great customer service and helped us to where we didnt have to drive back or pay extra!!
I have rented a pick up here on two different occasions. I have been teated very well. The staff is professional and courteous. I am in and out in under 15 minutes with a new well maintained truck. I have never been treated this well by any move it your self company. My one and only U-Haul center!
Great place! Very friendly staff. Helpful and professional. I like that, all rooms have their own alarm for security (you deactivate by card swipe when you enter). Glad to do business with these folks.
Made an online reservation for a truck for 9:00AM pickup. Got to the address, and stood in line only to find out that it was a referred reservation, and that wed need to go to another location 10 miles away. Drove to that location, stood in line for 25 minutes, while the guy meticulously explained unimportant details to the person he was helping. (For example, everyone in line now knows the difference between corporate owned and franchise dealers). When we finally got to the counter, he told us that he had been trying to call for 45 minutes, to let us know that the reservation had to be changed to 3:00PM. That would have been impossible, because 25 minutes of that time was us standing in line, during which he never touched a phone. Way to blow an hour. Definitely will NOT be renting from this location again.
Good rentals. They tried to charge for gas, because it was 1/16 under a half tank, I had to raise hell to get them to dismiss a $18 gas charge for 3 gallons. Then they charged me for the trailer, that we thought was on the original bill, but wasnt. Not a happy customer.
Two techs at the front desk were knowledgeable and professional. Very helpful and quick, I was worried there would be a wait when I walked in but they handled the crowd efficiently. I would rent from here again.
Owner was very rude. Also, Employee pulled fuses out of my car to troubleshoot an issue and set off all sort of errors on my dashboard. He didn’t apologize for screwing up my car and said, “they can fix that for you” referring to me taking it to the dealership to have it fixed. As if it was no big deal and wasn’t hugely inconvenient for me. I was so angry. I’ll never go back there.
Scott was very helpful. Even though he was left alone that day he still managed to take care of everybody and everything.

Waiting 13 minutes to just buy boxes and a roll of tape is not a good, especially when I’m the only customer in the store. Good customer service goes a long way.
