I was up from North Carolina visiting family when two miles into my return trip my car lost power and went into limp mode. Luckily I was able to make it the half mile more to Shanks. Once I got there and described my situation it took Phillip less than ten minutes to diagnose a bad ignition coil. In no time we had the new part and I was back on the road for an uneventful rest of the drive home. Im super thankful my bad luck struck so close to Shanks instead of further down the road.

While towing a camper on our way to Shenandoah Park our truck started leaking a lot of fluid. We had it towed to Shanks and they took it right in. They diagnosed the problem (Radiator Hose Clamp rusted out and had come off), fixed it, and had us back on the road in about an hour. Great service for an unexpected appointment!

Shank is the best mechanic Ive worked with in 20 or so years.We have a 2011 Ford Fusion that had annoying front end/steering vibration and noise. We took the car to a two mechanics (out of town) who were unable to diagnose and fix the problem for over a year.When we moved to Harrisonburg we had had enough of this annoying problem and stumbled upon Shank as a close-by repair shop with good ratings. Boy were those high ratings correct! Shank diagnosed the noise/vibration trouble within 15 minutes and had it repaired that day. Also their repair rates are very reasonable! From now on I will only take my vehicles to Shank for repairs and service because of their honesty, skill and great customer service. They also fixed the AC on our car for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Shank!

Had some exhaust work done on my Jeep; they ran into some issues that took a day and a half to resolve. To their credit, they did an outstanding job.The cost of the work was well below what I had anticipated. They are avery friendly, courteous, and professional staff/mechanics. Phillip was great!!! We had an appointment scheduled with him and he was ready and waiting by the time we got there. Super friendly and fast. He was by far the best deal we found in town. Bonus points for having a kid-friendly waiting area it definitely kept my two-year-old preoccupied as we waited. Will definitely be back.

My car had its cooling system “flushed” about two months previous to my appointment with Shank automotive. The crew gave a diagnostic saying 1. It didn’t appear to be flushed well and 2. Most of the parts in the system would need replacing. I had heard great things from family and friends about work they had done here, so I was quoted and serviced. They were very professional and serviced my car quickly, even showing me what had gone wrong. What I most appreciated about my experience is hat as a family that budgets closely, they came right in at the quoted price. Things are running smooth once again! Simply awesome!
