I was on vacation when my brakes failed due to a rusted brake line. I dropped off my truck in the Night drop and they called me the next morning and gave me an estimate to replace the brake lines. The job took the entire day and was priced just as I anticipated. I was back on the road again and my family was safe. Thanks guys for the great service and immediate attention.

My husband and I were on a road trip driving through the area when our tire almost fell off of our vehicle. We got towed to Midas and they fit us in without hesitation, ready to help. The manager and mechanic who worked on our car were efficient and triple checked that our car was safe to drive. They did whatever it took to get us back on the road for our trip… safely! Just got my rotors and brake pads replaced here, the staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Which is good because the wait can be long but I needed the job done and Im very happy with the completed work!

Did an alternator swap for me and for a reasonable price and were very polite and kind.

They were awesome... job done quickly and they saved my boss $500... he will appreciate that when he gets back from vacation! They rock!!

I was having trouble getting air into my tires, so I pulled into Midas as I pass it frequently on my way to work. The gentleman working the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He checked my tires and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. A little goes a long way, and because of this interaction I will now be taking my car here for services. Gary was amazing! My daughters a JMU student and I live 2 hours away when she called me late for an exam saying her car would not start. After calling around to several mechanics (one being Firestone) who said they had to time to repair & quoted me about $1800 before even running diagnostic which would cost $29.99. I called Gary at Midas and he said have her bring it in now, well take care of her. Within 2 hours they replaced the alternator for a fraction of what Firestone was telling me & finished same day. No hagle pricing or additional fees. Highly recommend.

Good service, no fuss all must. They took care of little things without me having to ask. I got a tire rotation and an oil change, my mechanic went ahead and checked the pressure on my tires and inflated them for me, before I had even thought to ask. Theyve got the touch!

I have been taking my vehicle here for about 3 years now. Everyone here is extremely nice, and helpful. Starting from talking to John about your problems and scheduling to the mechanics working on your car. The prices are a little higher than other places I used to take my vehicle, but it is worth paying the extra cash. If you need work done on your vehicle I highly recommend Midas.

Ive been to a lot of places around town to get my cars worked on over the years, and Midas has been the best out of all of them. First of all, the owners and management are super friendly and they dont try to upsell you on anything. They simply ask you what you need done, and will do it for you.If there is a problem, they come and ask you to follow them out to the shop and literally show you the issue. They then give you honest advice. For instance, if your tires have a little bit more mileage on them but the tread is wearing, they will honestly tell you that you can wait until next time to replace them or if they wont last, they will tell you its not safe to drive. They arent trying to make an extra buck out of your hard earned cash.Ive overheard countless conversations the owners have had with others on the phone while I had my vehicle being serviced, and they shop around for the best price if they need a replacement part to order for you, and various other things youd expect a well established business to do.The service is always great here!

Went to get inspection. Inspection rejected because of a nail in outside wall of tire. Employee gave me quotes for new tires. After I stated I wasnt going to buy tire he made the comment that the tire was loosing air and that the nail looks like it hasnt been there long. I feel that they put the nail in my tire so I would spend more money there.

Went there for state inspection. They called and said everything is fine and car is ready for pick up. My wife went to pick it up to only find out that car did not pass inspection and they wanted to charge $800 for repairs!

I was having a hard time finding a place that could fit me in until I found this Midas shop, they listened to my plight that Im on a road trip back home and got the car in immediately within 20 minutes I was back up and running... Great job great people

While I had a good time, there are not many rides for those who have medical issues. Not quite worth the ticket gate price of $145.00 per person. One lap around the park and you are pretty much done within 2 hours.

Was well pleased with the customer service, did not feel like I was being priced up which often happens at dealership. Will use again.

Great service quality work my new shop

Took a trip to Massanutten trying to enjoy my vacation at the resort. I’m from out of town and unfortunately my serpentine belt went and had few options of shops locally. I called around to different shops and most of them weren’t able to help. The employees at Midas were friendly and enthusiastic about helping me out. Got my vehicle towed to them and they called back saying it would be ready to go in a couple hours. They are quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend taking your vehicle to them.

Do not use!!!! Charged 150 for ac diagnosis and called and said it would be 700 to fix. I said no and the part they said was needed was not correct!!!!! It was a 10 dollar part.....They were gonna charge 700 for a 10 dollar fix . Ladies do not go there !!!

Ive been here multiple times. The first time my car battery kept coming on and off. They had told me it was not the alternator and had something to do with wiring. Well after a couple hundred bucks and a guarantee that it had been fixed I found out otherwise. It was indeed my alternator and I was pretty upset I wasted money here. They really seem to try and swindle college kids and I would not go back here even if it was my last resort.

The guys at Harrisonburg Midas are great! They dont try to price gouge me because Im a woman. They are the only place thats worked on my vehicle since I bought it. Their prices are very reasonable and the mechanics know what they are doing. The Johns that work in the front are very down to earth and knowledgeable. Just all around a great place with great staff and a friendly atmosphere!

I went in for a state inspection and had a flawless experience. I explained I was in a time crunch and the receptionist accurately estimated how long the inspection would take (45 minutes). It only took about 30. Additionally, all the staff were very nice. Definitely going to them for future vehicle needs!

The first time I went to Midas was for work my service station told me I needed to pass inspection but couldnt get to immediately. Midas told me the work did not need to be done. The second time my service station told me I needed some work done that I doubted I went to Midas where I was told said it might need to be done but not immediately perhaps not for a year. Thats when I decided to go to Midas first. I have learned to trust them and to appreciate their relatively modest prices.

I have used Midas several times, both here and in Raleigh, NC. Both locations had kind and knowledgeable staff that went above and beyond to help me. The Harrisonburg location parked my car right up front and left it running to keep us warm and even carried out one of my bags for me and opened the car door for me. They were honest and wanted to make sure me and my baby were safe on the road. Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left!

John and the guys took great care of me and the F150 when it needed a new starter.

This group of workers far surpassed my expectations. I called one morning to make an appointment. I told them my issue over the phone and they were happy to make an appointment for me. When I came in later in the day, around 5:15, they greeted me by name and took my car back right away to look at it and give me an estimate. I had an exhaust issue and they allowed me to come into the garage, look under my car, and explained to me step by step the problem and how they were going to fix it. They gave me the most cost efficient solution, which was very reasonable. They fixed my car that day before closing at 6. I brought my car in about 40 minutes before closing and they were able to diagnose the issue and fix my car. They even made arrangements for me to pick my car up after they closed so I would not be without a car. I would highly recommend this shop!

Beware! Most expensive brakes Ive ever purchased. SUV running flawless but was time for new brakes. I went in for new brakes and they told me I needed this and I needed that. It was a Saturday morning - I told them to do what they needed to do to get my brake situation situated.$1000.00 later and I still dont know what happened.

Can not recommend!! I had me heater core installed and I paid almost $800 keep in mind I provided my own parts!!! I was quoted $350! But when it came time to pick up the vehicle they took it upon themselves to replace other parts without receiving permission. I unwillingly paid and left immediately. A few days later I stop for gas and my dash starts to pop off because they never replaced all my screws! I take it back to the shop and they ask if it was like that before!! I demand them to place screws back on the dash they say your alll fixed! I then ask them about a vacuum line that’s missing and they say you don’t need that?!?!? My response what Toyota didn’t just add in a spare vacuum line come on they say well we don’t know where it goes you’ll be fine. I leave after stating I’ll never return and then find not all my screws had been replaced still. I gave up and replaced them myself after spending $500 on labor for the job to be done “professionally” also my alternator was changed out at the same time and since I have had a noise from the pully! Thanks for all the great work! Last I called for a quote on a power steering gear box and the guy says I don’t know what that is, tell you what get the part and bring it in and then I’ll give you a quote!!! Are you joking me I wouldn’t trust this place with a Bicycle Let alone a car!!

I have only experienced genuine kindness and thoughtfulness at Midas. They have always taken care of my needs completely and swiftly. I love how they are honest with what is pressing and also with what simply needs to be put on my radar for sometime in the future...no pressure. Thanks to Midas for serving the community so well and with such integrity!

Unfortunately this place charges an arm and a leg for labor. $651 for already put in rotors, but the brake pads and calipers had to be put in and a brake fluid exchange. they charge you the core refund charge and pass this on to you, the consumer. then, they turn your old calipers in and they get their money back. so not only are u being charged full price for the parts, they keep the refund they get back. $320 just for rear calipers. yes, they did give me a small discount but this is going to take a long time to pay off. will not ever bring a car here again.

My boyfriend took my car to get inspected and it ended up costing him 600 because it needed new tires. Later on, the car kept making a noise and I kept taking it back to Midas about it and they claimed they fixed the situation TIME AFTER TIME. The final straw was when after it got “fixed” and got “new” lug-nuts I was driving to school on I-81 at 70mph my car breaks down leaving me scared of getting in a possible wreck with traffic behind me I did as much as I could to get on the side of the road. With ONE LUGNUT attached to the TIRE. They ended up towing the car to another mechanic Who said the whole arm of the tire needed replacing! Long story short the people that helped me that night were much nicer than Midas after being greedy by saying that they’ve already paid for the damage which was 800 so they could just pay 100 which was for towing. WHO SAYS THAT TO SOMEONE THAT FACED A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE WHERE MOST CAR WRECKS OCCUR?! Afterall, they paid full amount and IM NEVER GOING BACK.

I have enjoyed the service from these people for a little while and i am a returning customer. Today I had my shocks and springs put on. Best!! Prices in town for all car maintenance by far! My son took his car there to be inspected and they told us it needed new ball joints and tires to pass inspection and they failed it. They gave us a quote of $2,000 for all of it. We told them we would take it somewhere else. I brought the car home, paid $400.00 for parts and labor to replace the ball joints and then the car passed inspection because the tires were fine. I cant believe they would try to take advantage of a college kid like that. What a horrible experience. Do not get any work done here or even inspections. They lie!

I used to get my oil changed here but wont any longer after yesterday when the man at the counter purposefully ignored me for an extended amount of time. I had come by to get the car checked out for stalling and he wanted to charge me $99 for diagnostics. I remembered I had those codes already from AutoZone, so I grabbed them and brought them to him, and another man came out to try to help, but the older man said no, he had it under control. He then said hed be right with me and proceeded to help the other folks in the lobby and make a bunch of phone calls. I waited while messing around on my phone, pulling up insurance info and talking to my kids, every so often trying to make eye contact with him, still getting the just a minute, look, and after about ten minutes of this, I got my kids and started to leave. He then shouted at me that he was going to help me soon or could get someone else, and I said hed already ignored me enough. He insisted I had been ignoring him by being on my phone, clearlyd and I said no thanks, Im just going to go somewhere else.I feel like because they were not going to get me to pay all these little extras that he decided I wasnt worth his time or something. They used to be very kind and on top of their customer service, but this was beyond rude.

The aim of this place seems to be, upsell; exaggerate & lie in order to overcharge. Sad business model. See some of their reviews are actually employees. That says alot, too.

We took my fiances Saab to Midas to have a brake line replaced. Because the brake line runs through the chassis as opposed to running along the bottom of the car Midas quoted us at $760.00, telling us they would have to take out the seats and that it would be very complicated to fix. We decided to get a second opinion and took the car to Car ER in Harrisonburg and they fixed it in 4 hours. They told us all they had to do was remove one back seat to get to the line. The total cost was $150.00. Glad we got a second opinion, we were definitely getting ripped off at Midas.

I take my car here for oil changes which are inexpensive and comes with a 12-ish point inspection. Its convenient and I havent had an issue during oil changes. They even let me know when my air filters are getting dirty which I end up replacing myself.A bit of a funny story - I keep my old windshield wiper blades in the new blades packaging in my trunk in case the new ones fail, I can replace them in the meantime. Midas found these in my trunk during the inspection and when they called me telling me my car is done, they said the installed the wipers at no extra cost. As much as I appreciate them going above and beyond, I had them remove them since they were the old ones.

I have been going to the Harrisonburg Midas for approximately 7 years..and ALL of my experiences have been positive.They fix what needs to be fixed..and never try to sell you things/parts/service(s) that you dont truly need.Leon (Manager) is top-notch! ..as are all the employees.

Absolutely the worst possible place you could take ANY vehicle especially for a Virginia State Inspection. Give them that rope and they will hang you out for every bit of money they can get with the threat of a Rejected sticker on your car. I used to use them and every time I took a vehicle in there they were able to find hundreds of dollars of critical repairs especially at inspection time. For some reason every time my vehicles hit their bay there was always multiple things that were always close to failure and needed to be fixed right away. The strange thing is that when I no longer used these people my new mechanic was never able to find problems like Midas could and it didnt cost me an arm and a leg either. While they are busy gouging you on all these unnecessary repairs other maintenance is not being done which will ultimately cause you a LOT of problems down the road. I would love to see how their rejected inspection rate compares with other shops in Harrisonburg. I would wager it is so far above the norm that it stands out like a sore thumb. How about a little truth in advertising Midas. Why dont you just call it A Fool And His Money Is Soon Parted? You certainly separated this fool from a lot of money until I got tired of you and went elsewhere.

Worst place in town, they rip you off and over charge for everything.. No need to waste time and money here, and they call themselves ‘professionals’ lol they are by far the worst service shop I’ve been to in Harrisonburg so far. I won’t be returning anymore, they also try to act smart with you.

Took my husbands car for a battery replacement and oil change. It didnt take too terribly long considering how busy it was and the employees are very friendly.

Midas in Harrisonburg has absolutely no regard for customer service, specifically their store manager, Leon. The morning after taking my car in for routine maintenance, I had a flat tire. I also noticed that the mechanics had left all the air valve caps off - an obvious sign of negligence. Due to the likelihood that this was not a random coincidence, I called Midas to discuss the situation. As soon as I began to explain the problem and my dissatisfaction, Leon immediately became defensive, blaming the flat on me, talking over me, laughing at my accusations, and yelling at me. I have never been spoken to in such a demeaning, condescending, nasty way. He also told me that the owner was out of the country which I later found out to be a blatant lie.In the end, I took my tire back and sure enough, the flat was caused by their negligence. Please do not give your time or money to these guys. Leon may come off as a nice guy, but the second you question their service, he will treat you like a piece of trash. I will never even consider doing business with another Midas again, thanks to Leon.

Overcharged me for an oil change. They rotated me tires and charged me for the labor, even though I specifically asked them NOT to rotate my tires. Im a single woman/college student... they tried to take advantage of that and make me feel stupid when I questioned them about my tires being taken off of my vehicle as I watched from the waiting room. The staff promised me I wouldnt be charged extra, but low and behold...Do not give them your service. Ever.

They break things.They find random and unnessary things and then charge extremely ridiculous prices for it and never end up fixing it.Rude and horrible customer service as well. 👎🏻Dont waste your time or money folks.

Do not take your car to this shop. The technician John showed me the underneath of a used car I was looking to purchase. The boos bushings were all corroded and deteriorating horribly. I pointed this out and he said that was fine and in good shape. Then, in my opinion, for the reason of proof or lack thereof, he didnt charge us so we did not get a receipt. My belief is that when or if something were to occur I wouldnt have proof of the pre-purchase inspection. Then I called to report this technician John, to the owner and he was fine with his customers being deceived and potentially being put in harms way.My recommendation is for anyone thinking of using this shop, dont.
