What a great experience. Ive been meaning to stop in for a while now and glad I did. The selections of Gelato all looked tasty and I didnt really know which one to choose but I know Ill be coming back and trying other flavors of these fantastic Gelatos (Italian process of making ice cream)! The staff was very friendly and helpful as well
I was so sad they ran out of the straciatello flavor: it was my favorite. Instead, I got the nutella smores and cookie n cream gelato flavors. The price for a small, you get 2 scoops of the same flavor or different ones. They make their flavor daily and I was able to taste samples of the flavors before I chose the one I wanted.
SweetCup Gelato & Sorbet Originale offers fresh gelato in the Montrose District! You can even find them at your Local Whole Foods Market. Definitely a to go to spot for delightful gelato. They currently are not offering free samples which is a bummer but it is due to CDC guidelines. They have an assortment of flavors but my favorites are Horchata, Orange Creamsicle, & Dirty Coconut, they are heavenly!! Some flavors are Dairy Free but one must ask to reassure. They do offer sorbets which are made freshly as they offer Local Organic Produce when available. They also allow for one to choose up to three flavors in their small Sz which is a plus as that is rarely done anywhere. I’d definitely recommend for anyone to try them out!!
This is a sweet little gelato shop. I’m not usually a sweet person but I was waiting for my son to finish his dentist appointment and decided to try this place. The service was excellent, the treat was delicious, and the shop was inviting and fun. They have outside seating as well. They service cookies, brownies, and other treats too. This place is kinda expensive. For 2 eye small gelato cups I paid almost $20 bucks.
A friend took me here to try their unique gelato flavors. Im glad she did. I tried the guava rose gelato with the orange sorbet. The sizing may seem small in a tiny cup, but I can be quite filling. The guava rose was my favorite. You can actually taste and the guava and a hint of rose. I hope they have this next time when I return!
Service was good. The Gelato flavors they had at the time simply didnt suit me. They were mostly fruity. Guava, strawberry, etc. I ended up with sweet cream with chocolate shavings and it was okay but not great. Will probably try them again, though. Prices are about mid-range for ice cream/gelato.
Pretty great! I brought my kids here, tried the Guava flavor and loved it. They have over 200 rotating flavors so I will have to come here a few times and try them :p
Ok not quit like Italian gelato. i felt uncomfortable when i checked out because cashier was basically telling me to tip her.. very bold and i do not like to be pressured to tip someone who just put a scoop of ice cream in a cup
Adorable little place, always such a cool rotating selection of flavors! would definitely recommend
Love the fact that this place has unique flavors. At the time there was Southern Hospitality that had cornbread and jalapeno flavors! I had Goat and Dulce de leche, which was interesting/complex and delicious. Love the staff, love the flavors.
Good Spot. The worker there took her time to help me through the flavors. Great Customer Service.
Well it was to die for awesome service great icecream they have more things than icecream they all have sorbet and coffee and popsicles and so much more I would say one million stars
Always great and interesting flavors. Soy sauce, rum raisin, amaretto. Very tasty.
Best ice cream ever! All the flavors were delicious. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Will come back for sure!
Visited this place quite a few times in the past! Very good gelato! They make it daily! And the flavors change every so often so you gotta check it out! My favorite one was the Spumante (cookie butter) flavor. Pricing is good and you can get as little as a small 1 scoop to buying a pre-made pint! They offer affagato style and floats too! Unfortunately due yo Covid they don’t have much coffee options. I’ve seen very interesting flavors like goat milk, soy sauce, and garlic if you want to try out your inner thrill seeker. But for those who are the less adventurous type there are PLENTY of safer flavors to choose from! Pistachio, vegan chocolate, bourbon rum butter (using real rum alcohol) raspberry and loads more! Highly worth a visit!
Vegan ice cream options that are actually good! Wish they would bring back the coconut curry, it was my favorite :(
This is a hard place to find at night because the strip center it is in is pretty dark. Once you do make your way in, however, you will like what you find. My wife and I were finding it a hard time to choose between the approximate two dozen flavors or so, but each of us got the medium cup with two scoops. Reasonably priced and tastes good, and the lady helping us was very friendly. If you like gelato, I would recommend it!
The staff was very friendly and informative. I love that you can get multiple flavors at a time because the selection is so amazing that it’s hard to pick just one!
This place has THE BEST Gelato I have ever had.. seriously. I spoke with the maker of the Gelato and she mentioned that they get their pistachio paste from Italy and that is why it tastes so good. I love that it doesnt taste like Almond Extract.
Nice gelato shop.Flavors are hand crafted in Houston, TX.They offer some traditional flavors like chocolate and vanilla. And then they offer some creatively avant-garde flavors, like goat cheese caramelized pear.I tried the Horchata Dulce de Leche and the Banana Cinnamon Cayenne.I preferred the former to the later. They are a cashless store.Pretty good customer service.Bon appétit 🙂
Very nice treat, we all got something different and every thing was so good.
*** Updated: Still love Sweet Cup! On a nice evening, it’s great to sit outside and try the seasonal flavors along with my faves. ***After diligently tasting as much gelato in H-town as I can find, I love Sweet Cup. This is the BEST gelato, freshly made daily, flavors updated seasonally, and great service. The Montrose location is clean but not hipster, and I don’t care. Get over it, and bless your tongue. It’s exactly that good - alone, on a date, hanging out with friends, taking a break with family, whatever. I’m not ashamed to say I had two Smalls at my first visit, and my surprising favorite is Lavender, holy moly. Or any flavor. If they can make Lavender taste like the best Summer ever, then I’m All In. You go, you are going to want to kiss someone.
The best! Have had gelato all over the world and I love this place. I also have celiacs and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about what I can and can not have. Highly recommend. Also, my kids love it!
Best attitude ever and the products are amazing 👏 😍
Ice cream and sorbet was delicious and the kids loved the waffle cones!
Loved this place from the first taste. the staff was very friendly and kind. they have a lot of great reviews for a reason. Pretty good ice cream shop. Nice place to grab some ice cream. One of my favorite places on Houston! Been here multiple times since it opened. My favorites are the goat cheese, bluemoon. Great food with quality ingredients. one of the best ice cream shop in Houston.
Really yummy gelato and everyone who works here is always super nice
A small ice cream shop in Montrose, but I do like the unique flavors here. Its located in a small plaza strip. Somewhat doable parking. Not too busy on a Saturday afternoon, but a crowd started to come in after us. The inside is a bit small with a few tables. They let you try an unlimited amount of flavors. The staff was very friendly and patient with us as we tried the flavors. There are 3 sizes in terms of which cup you want. A small size gives you up to 3 different flavors. The large gives you 5 flavors.I went with Texas Kulfi and pistachio. Im a big fan of pistachio and the flavor was definitely solid. They have a lot of mixed flavors, not your typical ice cream. I believe the fla
Great variety with lots of rotating flavors. Ive had several phenomenal sorbets from there (limoncello, strawberry-raspberry, some blood orange one, etc.). Gelatos have been generally good, though I dont always love the selection.
Grapefruit lavender sorbet is so good it should be a sin
Sweet Cups is always a great place to grab some great Gelato. I love their flavors. And you always have to get a waffle chip with your ice cream. Will definitely be back!! Willing to try their Affogato.
Delicious! Especially the ice cream that has alcohol in it !
Sooo good! I love the different flavors and how they change. Literally the BEST ice cream cone I’ve ever had. It tasted like a cookie but super crispy.
Been here twice. Out of this world ice cream. Really unique flavors. They rotate flavors, so youll may be surprised with a new one. Small store with a few tables indoor and outdoor.Got the affrogato today which is a scoop of ice cream with expresso poured over and it was great. Try it, you wont regret it.My girlfriend loves this place.
Delicious flavors and cones.
We had 4 flavors and they were not good, one was pretty bad (cherry). Won’t return for sure.
This place is absolutely one of my favorites. Looking forward to coming back with my coworkers. Prices are reasonable.
Colin was extraordinary! This was my first experience inside this little gem and he made sure I was informed, covid safe, and welcomed. I came just looking for a quick treat and left knowing this will be my new favorite spot.. . And this was all before I even tried my gelato. The King cake gelato was delicious. One scoop was more than enough to hit the spot.
Very tasty!will go back over and over!
Delicious flavors, and a lot of them are dairy-free! There is also a to-go freezer with flavors and treats you cant get scooped (like huckleberry cobbler). Downside due to Corona virus is their bathroom is closed.
We stopped in to try this because they have dairy free options. I tried the lavender grapefruit....it sounded so odd that I had to try it. In a million years I would not have thought it would be THAT delicious. I have been craving more since I finished it a week ago. DELISH.
I have yet to find a flavor we havent liked!
The best gelato & Sorbet in Houston. My son will not eat any other Icecream. We always have in the freezer just incase. Vanilla and bacio are my favourites!
SweetCup is some of the best gelato Ive ever had, and its in par with anything in Italy according to well-versed sources. Creative flavors rotate constantly, so youre always guaranteed new and interesting choices. Great locally-owned shop that deserves our support, especially during this pandemic!
We moved to Katy. And really miss this place. We frequent when we come to town to run errands! Really friendly helpful and tasty. Cause of covid you cant taste test anymore.. but everything is good. They have unique flavors (we get sorbets with no cream) we love grapefruit lavender and pomegranate or mango
Obsessed. Variety of flavors that change often, high quality, delicious, excellent service.Addition: We have been coming here for years and met the owner. She is so nice and cares about her customers and a quality product. She just did a rebranding and everything looks great. I got the vanilla bean tres leches. My fave, but the pistachio is hands down the best around. Go there asap.
Solid little gelato shop nothing fancy but absolutely nothing wrong with it
Excellent, creamy gelato. My partner and I were interested in some post-lunch dessert so we headed to SweetCup and were not disappointed. I love ice cream and have very high standards for it. Their gelato was without a doubt one of the best that i’ve had in the United States. I had the banana pudding and mango flavour while my partner had pistachio flavour.
SweetCup has become a new favorite!Update: I did get a second cup (Cantaloupe, Lemon, Orange, and Dirty Coconut)! This was my first visit. The shop is a little tucked away on Montrose. There is adequate parking and outdoor seating. The shop is simply decorated so it feels airy. There are 8 sorbets for those looking for dairy-free options. The gentleman behind the counter was cordial and patient.I ordered the 3-flavor cup for $4.25 + tax; I chose Pineapple, Orange, and Dirty Banana sorbets. He neatly scooped the sorbets and placed a wedge of waffle cone adjacent to the temperature-controlled color- hanging pink spoon. The sorbets were exquisitely delicious and quite refreshing. I might have to get another cup or buy a prepacked pint to go.
If you are a true ice cream lover, you need to come to this local shop. The burnt caramel is the most delicious flavor i have ever tasted.
One of my favorite places on Houston! Been here multiple times since it opened and I make sure to stop by everytime I come to the museum. I just love the flavors and their combinations. My favorites are the goat cheese, bluemoon, the almond honey and they had guava rose creamsicle and beets us honey. I know they dont sound great, but once you try them you will definitely change your mind. If you have an open pallete then this is the place for you! They also sell some of there flavors in many Wholefoods stores, I just wish they had my favorite flavors out there. The staff is always friendly and the place is very clean!
Nice little place. The character assisting us out was once surely satisfactory and helped us selected our flavors. It used to be delicious! I would recomd this place, the Gelato used to be phenomenal.
Great customer service & great flavors. I totally recommend trying a gelato root beer shake 🤩
Service is pleasant. The location is visible, in a short strip mall. In a prime location,Montrose. The place cozy and inviting. There is alfresco seating! There is assigned parking. There are 5 non-dairy flavors if one doesnt care for lactose. The Dirty coconut is delicious.
Plenty of vegan options, recently added larger sizes
Best ice cream in Houston, no bs ingredients, just as it should be.
This is my favorite. I originally tried them through kickin Kombucha and am glad I stopped by. They have the best vegan frozen desserts I have ever tried.
Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I loved.
Always something different. Unusual flavors that somehow come together into wonderful cold treats. They also have a killer espresso machine. Everything is homemade everyday. It is a cashless business so bring the fantastic plastic.
We went there last night my 9 year old and I. Gavin and I loved it. We were sad we couldnt taste test, but we loved the tres leches. It was soo good, and I also loved the huckleberry cream one too. We definitely recommend it to everyone it wont disappoint
Grapefruit lavender for the WIN. Love the unique flavors they offer.
Colin was phenomenal!!! And the King cake gelato is EVERYTHING Ive been missing!!!
I had the best pistachio gelato and raspberry & pina made me want more!
Good I ice cream
Supporting a local small business makes the desert taste even better.
Good flavor selection. The staff seems a little stressed out about walking clients given the pandemia. So no much time to browse or taste anything. It will better for them only to open for pickup instead.
Love love LOVE SweetCup! Best gelato in Texas 💗 The tart flavours like basil or cilantro + lime are so good. Definitely worth a visit if you like (or honestly even if you dont like) sweets because theres always a flavour for someone. It would be cool to see sugar free flavours in the future!
The sorbets were exquisitely delicious and quite refreshing. I might have to get another cup or buy a prepacked pint to go.
Gelato, sorbet, and yogurt were all amazing!
I love their variety of flavors that are unique but not strange. Last time I visited I had two that I normally get plus Sweet Potato, which I truly hope they keep. They also have non-dairy Sorbet in addition to Gelato. Parking is a little tight sometimes.
