I have to say I was very impressed on how well they did on my car. I read their reviews and thought I would give them a try and I am glad I did. They fixed my ac and my cv axle after I had already been to two other shops with the same issue. They were very friendly, let me know what my car needed and gave me a quote up front and explained to me what needed to be done and how everything worked so I could know the cost before repairs were done. I am glad I went! Will be going here from now on!
I stopped in here to look into getting a new tire for my boyfriend when the one on his SUV blew. I was overly impressed with the fast service and friendly professionalism. I live in NE Columbia and will definitely be back for any future needs.
Courteous, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great clean shop. One of the nicest waiting room/lobby I have ever seen.
I brought a trailer in due to lights not operating. A few days later, I was told it was ready. I picked up the trailer and paid 132.00. By the time I got the trailer home lights were not working again. I returned to have the problem looked at again. I was told that moisture was getting into the lights. No kidding thats why I brought it in for repair. I was told that I needed to go get parts to correct the problem. I have never been asked to supply parts for any repair. So I got the parts and brought the trailer back for a third time. Heres the kicker, I was charged again to fix the same problem. Very unprofessional!
I don’t write many reviews but felt this was necessary. I called Mike at Lakeside Auto and asked him what it would cost to repair the AC on my 2006 Expedition. I told him I knew the Schrader valve on the high side was leaking at a minimum. I also told him I usually don’t have anyone work on my vehicles as I do it myself but I don’t have time right now and would like to find a good shop. He said it would be around $140 to check it out and evacuate and recharge the system. I dropped it off Monday they worked on it Tuesday when I picked it up Tuesday he charged me $232. I wasn’t happy about that but paid it and went on. He informed me the Schrader valve was leaking and they put dye in it so “if” it had any other leaks they could find it. This should have been my second red flag. First one being over charging me by almost $100. “If” it had any other leaks they should have found them before recharging the system when they had it vacuumed down, which they didn’t do. Anyway I drove it Wednesday and it worked, didn’t drive it again until Sunday and it wasn’t working so I dropped it off for them to look at Monday with a note to call me. I called Mike to see what they found because I hadn’t heard from him. He said that they found the AC manifold and hoses were leaking really badly and there was dye all over. They would need to replace the AC manifold and that was typical on those vehicles (seems like they would have checked this if that is true). He said he would text me the estimate… $318 parts and labor plus another $232 to Evacuate and recharge the system again. WHAT! I went in and picked up my keys and asked him why they didn’t put the system under a vacuum when they originally had it to see if it leaked. He told me they would need to have the vehicle for 3 to 4 days to do that (not true, just leave it under vacuum for a couple hours and see if it leaks). So my take away is they don’t have time to do it right but they sure have time to do it over and take your money again. I then asked him why they charged me more than the quoted price originally and he said he didn’t realize that my vehicle took 3 pounds of refrigerant. Excuse me, he knew what type of vehicle I had and it is an auto repair shop (not really)! I may have been ok with this if Mike would have admitted they did it wrong and charge me for parts and labor but not another $232 again for something they should have found. $140 quote turned into $232 that didn’t fix my vehicle and then Mike wanted to charge an addition $550 to actually fix it ($782 in total is a long way from $140). Please beware I’m out $232 with no AC and I don’t want anyone else to be taken advantage of. If I didn’t know what I do Lakeside Auto would have taken a lot more!
Some History; Al and Mike ran a successful busy in Lexington for years but wanted to relocate their shop in the Ballentine area due to the increase flow of traffic, I wish I had met them sooner…. I could have safe thousands of dollars on my vehicle.Mike proved me with a breakdown of things (blown head gasket, radiator replacement, power steering box and etc.) that would need to be fixed/repaired/replaced and an estimate of the cost. No one in Columbia or surrounding area that I have dealt with has ever been so detailed, professional and most of all so knowledgeable about their profession. I received a follow-up call after the fact to ensure I was satisfied with the work performed on the vehicle. Im telling you, these guys are really good at what they do.
My vehicle was botched by another repair shop and i lost over a thousand dollars. I brought my vehicle to this place for a second opinion they took their time and examined my vehicle. They fixed my vehicle and double checked it before giving it back to me. I would recommend them. They have reasonable prices and will get the job done right the first time.
Professional experience fair 👌 no BS
I have been taking my vehicles to these guys back when they were located in Lexington, and even though it now takes about 30 minutes to get there, I followed them over to the other side of the lake. From my first experience when I needed a new gas tank due to a metal rod in the road puncturing the tank, I have been sold on Al and his crew. Very professional and trustworthy. You get an honest assessment and guidance when it comes to needed repairs and service. I wont be taking my vehicles anywhere else. Thanks guys!!
They nice. Mike helpful.
Really great guys that got me in at the last minute and took care of me. Highly recommended.
Excellent service. Friendly, professional staff. It’s hard to find a shop that I trust and that doesn’t try to always find something else wrong to make an extra buck. Repeat customer for many, many years. Highly recommended.
I took my car in for repair, turns out it was something totally different...saved me thousands! Thank you so much Al and Mike! You guys are a blessing...
I highly recommend procar Automotive they did an awesome brake and roters job on my SUV I will definitely be going there from now on

We needed to get the car we were picking up onto a trailer and none of those workers tried to help and didnt offer any help either, even tho there were plenty of trucks to help us
New owners and great service.
Great service...
Always a pleasure doing business with Al
Great shop!! Very friendly people. Took my k5 blazer that had some issues. After fixing my transmission leak I took it out and still had some issues. Took it back and they fixed it on the spot with no charge. I know transmission leaks take time and procar backs the work they do. Thank you guys for getting my truck back on the road
Excellent place for your automotive needs without the worry of being taken advantage of.
