I have gone to Ithaca Auto Service three different times now. The first time, I needed an inspection for my car and while there, had asked them to look at my front tires, as I had noticed a loud screeching noise. They immediately identified the issue (front brakes) and fixed it at that appointment within an hour at a reasonable price. The other two times, I went for oil changes and was able to quickly schedule an appointment at a reasonable price that took no longer than 30 minutes. Good, solid service by honest people. Highly recommend.

I love this place. Has a comfy waiting room with a TV. Pre-pandemic they had free coffee in the waiting room. They dont currently but I thought that was a nice touch. Waiting room is massive. Currently very socially distanced waiting room. Fast service. I was in and out for an inspection in 20 mins. Most honest mechanics Ive found in Ithaca. I wont be going anywhere else for auto work while I live in this area.Highly recommend.

I have been going to Ithaca auto service for a few years. They always do a great job and are timely, nice, and fair. I always feel like I’m getting a good deal. They make sure your car is safe and legal to drive but do not promote expensive fixes that are unnecessary for function and safety. They are innovative and creative thinkers with the ability to make things work even when the answers aren’t straightforward.

I will never take my car anywhere else for as long as I live even remotely close to this place. They’re so good here. They treat me with respect, I always feel like I get a fair and reasonable price, and they’ve always guessed that it would take them longer than it does. I love it here.

Ive been taking my vehicles here for the past two and a half years. When I had been taken advantage of by the last garage I had frequented and was apprehensive about taking my car anywhere after that, the guys at Ithaca Auto restored my faith that there are honest, trustworthy, and knowledgeable mechanics still out there. Theyve always been more than fair with me and have explained everything prior to doing any service on my vehicles. Truly stand up people and I would (and do) recommend them to everyone looking for quality work that you can trust.

My car recently started making a clunking noise so I called in to schedule an appointment. I was able to get in the next day and they were able to look at my car within 10 minutes of arrival. The gentlemen provided me with a diagnosis after fixing the issue and did not charge me (ended up being a loose wheel). After trying to pay multiple times I informed him that I would be coming back should I have any future repairs.

They replaced my brake pads and rotors, and my car - which had absolutely no problems before - never stopped squeaking and squealing every time I braked. It smoked for the first few thousand miles I drove after the brake change. I brought it back to the shop twice and they claimed they couldn’t find anything wrong. Less than a year later, my rotors were rusted out (I never let the car sit) and I had to replace my pads and rotors again. Took my car elsewhere and immediately after the brake change, there were no noises and no smoke when braking. I was told Ithaca Auto had given me certified parts for my specific car, but am skeptical and would not go there again.

I am new to Ithaca Auto Service and I am very happy I found them. They have helped me with my emergencies without question, being considerate, respectful, friendly listeners with my expressions I give them 5 star!.

Great service and affordable prices! The people that work here are very friendly and helpful. They take the time to explain the problems with your car and how they fixed it. I have probably tried all the auto service places in the Ithaca area and this one is the best so far. I havent had any problems making an appointment and they are usually punctual. The waiting room is spacious, there is even free coffee.

I was there today for an oil change, put my winter tires on and to have the brakes checked. They said the brakes are perfect. Very honest and professional guys. The hourly rate is very fair.

I was having some issues with my windshield wiper fluid dispensing, and was concerned there might have been damage under the car (piece of plastic was hanging off the bottom).They squeezed me once I showed up out of the blue and put the car up to take a look. The fluid was frozen in the lines, so they dethawed it, and the plastic piece was a reflector that froze to the bottom of the car.They were extremely professional and friendly in helping me out. Unfortunately I am leaving Ithaca so wont be able to go back, but if I was staying, I would go here if I ever had a problem!Highly recommend!

Best customer service of any auto shop Ive ever been to, anywhere, ever. Ive only been here for a couple oil changes and minor things, but I would trust Jason with anything. They are honest, never pushy, always incredibly kind and respectful, efficient, and their prices are the best youll find in the area. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else.

This is the only place I will take my car. They are so helpful and honest there. I never enter thinking Im going to leave with unnecessary repairs. If something needs to be fixed they explain why instead of giving me ultimatums like some car repair places do. Im a young girl who doesnt know a lot about cars and they have never tried to take advantage of that and have always taken the time to explain things to me and show me things on my car. I would recommend them to anyone and I do!!!!

I brought my truck here and had amazing service. They replaced my e-brake cables and brakes all the way around. The boss and mechanics were all great. Helpful, respectful, and fast. Once i got there they did everything possible to get me in as quickly as possible.

I had some sounds coming from my wheels for a while and scheduled an appointment. Turns out my brakes were totally shot. There was a mixup about the time of my appointment but they squeezed me in, replaced my front brake pads and rotors, and got me out of there in about an hour. Very helpful and friendly and the car has been running smoothly.

When my wife and I first moved in to town, we used Ithaca Auto Service for our inspections and oil changes. a few months ago my wifes car needed a major repair and they were able to fit her in quickly, preformed quality work, and were quite flexible.These past experiences are why Im not giving them just 1 star.In my last interaction with Ithaca Auto, I was inquiring about the Free Birthday Oil Change promotion. The receptionist said that the maintenance had to occur exactly on my birthday. When I asked, what if my birthday is on a Saturday when they are closed, she sharply said that they would not honor it and ended the call.we have had other similar interactions in the last couple of months where the Ithaca Auto treats us like a stereotypical car shop where their word is final and I would have better luck arguing with a post.I understand that a businesses needs policies and limitations, but they also need good customer service, and flexibility when their policies arbitrarily deny services and active promotions.Because of these recent series if events, my wife and I will no longer be bringing our business to Ithaca Auto Service.Edit:Ithaca auto made it right and has corrected the issue.

I heard of this new auto service opening up and decided to give them a try due to the fact I enjoy friendly in depth customer service above all other qualities which is fairly hard to find around close. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and not only were they very adequate with the friendliness they also got me in very promptly and did the job in a more then acceptable timely manner, not to mention just as cheap if not cheaper then any where close by. I enjoyed the service so much I brought my vehicle back to buy a new tire which once again it matched or beat any price I checked for the tire and of course they did the rotation and balancing. Plus, the mechanic was nice enough to give me a complementary estimate on a problem that I will be taking it back to get fixed in the future. All in all, I recommend this Auto Service to any one wishing for a good experience and a friendly service.

I took my truck to Kyle at Ithaca Auto Service after i had taken it to one of those Big name companies. The first place i took it told me i needed to put new shocks and leaf springs as well as new brakes and brake hardware all the way around. When i took it to Kyle he told me that all i needed was brakes. Kyle saved me over a thousand dollars. I recommend Ithaca Auto Service to any and all that want good quality work done that wont empty your bank account.

Went for a simple oil change, they put a sticker that does not come off, still parts of it on my windshield a year later. They almost lost my car keys when I went to pick it up, took them a while to find it.The tire pressure warning light was on when I got in my car, they just told me it would turn off on its own, tire pressure was fine. No it didnt resolve on its own, and I had to get the light fixed on a different occasion.

Ive been going to Action Auto (Ithaca Auto Service) throughout recent years and I wish all service suppliers were as amazing! There is no motivation to ever go anyplace else. You will not be disappointed!

I drove up to Ithaca from NY in my 2006 Volvo wagon I discovered I had a problem with my car and I brought it in to Ithaca Auto Service. Kyle quickly figured out the problem, my radiator hose, and repaired it in an hour. the price was really fair. I wish I had a mechanic like this near me: thorough, experienced, and reasonably priced. You are lucky to have this resource!

Okay, so I took my car to Ithaca Auto Service to have my car checked and I got more than what I have paid for. I wouldnt say its the cheapest, but for the service I got, I can say that my visit was worth every penny I spent. The guy, Kyle, was also very nice and obviously knew what he was doing when he checked my vehicle. Within an hour, my car was up and running again. I wouldnt think twice about heading to this place the next time my car needs some lovin.

I had been told that i needed to have my car fixed and i looked into a lot of car shops and the one i found that i liked was Ithaca Auto Service they were kind to me as soon as i walked in the door they quickly got my car in the shop found the problem and also found that it was not the problem that i was told it was in the first place and they fixed it quickly for a very far rate and had me on my way in no time and from now on when someone asks me where they should go to get there car fixed i tell them to go to Ithaca Auto Service

I went to Ithaca auto service today got a quote. They looked at what a local dealership said i needed and they said that i had to get done cause my car was in danger. what they found was that there were things that needed to be done on there long and expensive list which Ithaca auto service did the same services a lot cheaper price. i will go there again to get the same service there as the dealer.

Very helpful, flexible, and timely.

They are warm and patient at the beginning, making me happy to pay nearly 1000 dollars to have my brakes replaced. Half a month later, our car starts to make weired noise. So we went back, but they told us there is nothing wrong with the brake, and suggested us to check the axes and bearings. However, technicians from all other shops told me the noise is very likely to be related to brakes. So we come back again several months later, as the noise become sharper and sharper. They finally found some problems with the brake. But they again want to charge 200 dollars to have it checked in more detail (not guranteed to fix it). And they become rude and arrogant when we complained about it. A really terrible experience...

These guys are great! Honest and fair. Last year I went in for winter tire swap, inspection, brakes, and oil change. They pointed out that it wasn’t safe for me to be using the same lug nuts on my summer and winter rims because they’re different thicknesses - something another shop in town had been doing for two years after my winter lug nuts rusted. I was glad they caught that and tracked down replacements for me.Today I took in my car for a rattling noise. They removed a piece of heat shield - no charge.I’ll be back!

Quality work for a good price

Ive been coming to Ithaca Auto Service for over 3 years. They dont just perform great service on our two cars, but they always help me out when I need an urgent repair! I called and visited many local shops - they are the only ones who can help me out when Im in a pinch.

Im from out of town, and drove over some uneven ground when leaving a nearby state park. A panel from beneath the front bumper was scraped out of position, and was dragging on the pavement. I stopped at IAS and they put the car on a hoist, zip-tied the parts that were dragging to restore ground clearance, and sent me on my way without charge!

My experience with Ithaca Auto Service was fantastic. Jason was very up front with every issue, and was very practical with his recommendations. He does not try to push services and repairs on you, rather he assesses what your needs are, what time frame would be good for certain repairs, how severe a particular defect might be, etc. I was truly impressed by his work and attitude. All repairs were done in a single day, and he goes the extra mile to help you with transportation if needed.For verification, I had the following work done my 2003 VW GTI VR6:- General inspection- Replaced Mass Air Flow Sensor- New tires + alignment- Windshield washer pump replaced.- Tightened small leak in upper radiator hoseI was simply visiting Ithaca for the summer, but if I happened to be visiting again and needed some work done, Ithaca Auto Service would certainly be getting my business again.
