Great value for the shower waterproofing and tile installation services! Jacob and his team are very meticulous and friendly. They provide very professional services at reasonable prices. Jacob also referred me to some quality electricians, plumbers, and glass door contractors who all delivered stellar services. You will not find any other tile store that offers you this kind of service at a valuable price. Our master bathroom turned out looking amazing. We had some very minor blemishes but Jacobs tile team came out and corrected them in a timely manner without any questions asked.
I have used Katy Tile a few times and just recently used them again for a bathroom remodel. I absolutely love my new tile and working with Jacob, the owner, is always a pleasure! He is on top of things and made sure I was happy with everything. His tile guy Abel is great at what he does and the rest of Jacob’s crew is pretty great as well!! I will continue going back to Katy Tile for my future home projects!! I HIGHLY recommend Katy Tile!!! - Veronica
We had some major foundation work done and needed to replace an entire house of tile. The job presented some challenges with the slab needing to be almost completely re-floated.Jacob gave us a great estimate and had a nice selection of tile. Along the way he was VERY responsive and professional. The install crew was fast yet thorough and paid attention to detail. The best part was the customer service afterward. As the house settled we had a few tiles shift. Jacob had an installer onsite ASAP to fix it, no cost.Getting a ton of tile work done is stressful. Jacob’s calm and way going approach was a huge help. I can’t recommend them enough. As for the foundation work, hit up precision foundation in Spring Branch. Top notch as well.
Was very professional patient and informative when I called to inquire. I will stop in!
Used this place about 4 years ago for a kitchen remodel, after being referred here by a coworker. Granite/ tile/ backslashYou get to work directly with the owner, Jacob, who is very upfront and transparent about your choices and the cost. We had multiple quotes and this place literally saved us thousands! We referred my mom after ours was done, and they did equally as good a job. Once again coming in way under the other quotes she had received. This is the only place well ever use again.
Great prices. Great people. Thank you Jacob, for getting me the tile sooner than expected.
I cant stop staring at my kitchen! My husband and I are remodeling parts of our home to make it a bit more up-to-date. Our changes include new granite counter tops and backsplash, new tile floors in all bathrooms and the utility room, and re-tiling of all our showers. So needless to say, the choice we made for a tile company was huge. Since I try to support small, local businesses, (and since Katy Tile is located right in front of my subdivision), I asked them to come out and give estimates on the above work. My husband and I were very happy with the quoted prices, so we scheduled the work. Before I get into the specifics, one thing that I really appreciated from the owner, Jacob, was his prompt communication. If I had questions or concerns, I would email him, and if he didnt respond back immediately, he would do so within 5 minutes. This really made things easier for me, as I was scheduling other tasks with another contractor and a handyman. So last week we had two sets of workers come and do the counter tops and the backsplash - one right after the other. The workers were prompt, and so incredibly hard-working. They also did a good job of cleaning up after they were done. The guys who did our backsplash were meticulous. As you can see in my picture below, I had subway tiles installed in a herringbone pattern, which has to be a huge pain in the neck. Those guys measured, re-measured, laid the tile one-by-one, and eyeballed everything to make sure it lined up evenly. It was a painstaking process, and Im so impressed by how much care they took in getting it done right. My counter tops are gorgeous. When they finished the installation, the guys sealed the counters, and buffed and polished them before they left. They vacuumed my floor, and were on their way. This week and next, were getting our 3 1/2 bathrooms and our utility room tiled. Ill follow-up with additional pictures when that work is done. Based on the work done on my kitchen and how easy this whole process has been, I highly recommend Katy Tile. I hope this review helps you.
The people who run the store are always very nice!
They installed wood looking tile in my entire downstairs. They did a great job and had a good price. Ask for Jacob.
Excellent Service, beautiful tile. Great installers. Very professional and clean up area when they are done.
This was the worst experience we have had with a company. Jacob came out quickly and gave us a quote I found reasonable to tile our tub shower combo. The people he sent out did the worst job on it. We complained about the glaring issues and Jacob tried to shrug them off. He obviously knew he couldn’t dismiss them since they were so bad and he finally agreed to send the guys back out to fix it. After the second visit we had complaints. The grout lines were horrible where the had added on and the tile they cut had visible rigid edges. We decided to just leave it alone since the first time his response was so disappointing. Now we are finding full chips out of the tile that had been covered up with grout to prevent us from noticing them and the grout is already cracking. So if you want a quick cheap job and don’t care about the results go this route. If you would prefer quality then I would run the other direction. We realized we had this Katy tile confused with Katy Tile and Marble off I-10 when we asked around about “Katy Tile”. The reviews on this location also seemed pretty good according to google. Now I’m not sure how we got the short end of the stick. Our experience was horrendous and I wish we would have known what we were in for. I’m posting this review to make others aware of the very poor quality of work and lack of responsibility from management.
Great place for all your flooring needs
This is the best floor company I have dealt with! Ive remodeled 5 homes and this company has the best prices and value. They are dependable and Jacob gets things DONE! They have installed floors at my home and many of my clients and friends homes. All satisfied.
Better than lowes. home depot ann daltile
I had Katy Tile install wood like tile in two thirds of my house in May of 2016. They came back and finished off the remaining third in May of 2017. They were very professional, came when promised and completed the work in the time estimated. The work is excellent. Ive recommended them to several friends, and theyve all been happy with the work.
Best tile best deals great installers very nice. Jacob the owner very friendly
One star is a GIFT! There should be a zero option. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! Jacob, the owner, came by and offered an estimate to remove ceramic tile in my entry kitchen and dine-in area and lay wood floor to match my existing wood floor. He took measurements, quote was accepted and contract was generated. Was told it would be a two-day job: One day to remove tile and prepare floor/patch with over lay compound with leveling as needed. Second day to lay wood on prepared surface. DID NOT HAPPEN! It took 10 days and 9 different workers. Workers would privately complain that Jacob doesnt pay them well, saying that he lies to them about projects just to get them to show up. Some would show up and leave, others just leave in the middle of the day. Some workers were sent without the proper equipment who had absolutely no experience in the task at hand. SHODDY WORK, WAS YELLED AT BY ONE OF THE WORKERS--he came at me because I asked him to stop pulling up my existing wood floors (damaging property, IMO) and to please work on removing all of the tile set left on the floor. He because so unstable (had to change my locks). A NIGHTMARE! Owner did not measurement/didnt order enough material, and left work undone. (Quarter rounds are still sitting in my garage.) And Jacob had the unmitigated GAUL to charge me an additional $480.
I am currently working working with Katy Tile and they have been an absolute pleasure thus far. They came out the same day I requested a measurement and quote. They have also been very patient and worked with us on the tile selection, even offering to stay open late due to our work schedule.Great customer service is becoming more and more difficult to find, and I have been so impressed by Jacob and his team. On top of that, the prices are more than fair. Once the job is complete I will post pictures, but I couldn’t be more pleased thus far. If you are looking for tile work in the Katy area, give Katy Tile a shot.
Best prices I have found in town!
From an AWESOME customer P.Brown :We hired Katy Tile to install the wood-look flooring .Approximately 2000 square feet. The manager, Jacob, showed up during the scheduled time for our visit, and was efficient in emailing us the bid by the end of the week. One concern when installing wood-look flooring is the grout lines. Most of the companies who came to give us bids said they would only do 1/8 grout line or larger, depending on the manufacturers recommendations. Most of them actually said the grout line would not even be 1/8th, but larger than that. This was annoying to us because when you install wood tile you want it to look like WOOD! The reasoning behind the larger grout line because wood tiles have longer dimensions than regular tile, and its harder to get everything lined up perfectly straight (chalk-line straight). So floor people prefer larger grouts so that they can have insurance that they will lay their tile straight. To me, larger grout lines means the crew has less experience installing wood-look floors.Your selection of tile also affects the end-look of the floors. So I must mention what we used: We really liked the look of the Saddle Brown tile from Home Depots Marrazi line. It was well cut and straight. Because this tile is so straight and well made, we knew we could have something smaller than the 1/8 grout. Also, another consideration with installing the longer wood-look tile is the evenness of the subfloor. Our concrete was actually pretty even and flat (when you lay a large level on it). Many contractors who gave us bids wanted to pour a type of product that spreads out, flattens out and levels your floor. You can imagine that this is also an extra up-cost. We really felt that our concrete was pretty level, and that this would be un-necessary.So, with these issues in mind (the grout lines and the level floor), I was very impressed with Katy Tiles work. They have a special team (Abel and 2 other guys) who ONLY install wood tile. So yes, this team really knew how to handle the longer dimensions of wood tile. They took the tile and butt them up to each other, making the grout lines smaller than 1/8! The grout they used was non-sanded, so that allowed the grout to fit between the thin grout lines. To help level the floor (because all concrete floors have some sort of uneven sections), they use a thick layer of thin set. This makes it easier to level the tiles. Once the tiles were all set and ready for grout, they painstakingly used a razor blade to clean out all of the tile gaps so that the non-sanded grout could be poured on top, evenly. Abel laid most of the tiles while his team did support work. Abel used very little equipment (as far as a level, etc.) when he worked, and it quickly became clear to us that he had VERY good touch and feel for his work. He was excellent.I cannot express how pleased I am with Katy Tile! Their work for the wood-looking tile was affordable and efficiently done. Because they use one special team to do the wood-looking tile, I did have to wait 3 weeks for them to have an open schedule to do our job. But I was fine with this. Finally, I was also impressed with how polite the crew was. Having strangers in your home can sometimes be uncomfortable, but they always showed up bright and early (around 9 am), and they literally cleaned up every stitch of trash from lunch and any furniture they had to move in my house. They were very courteous. After the work was done, the floors were swept and wiped down, equipment was hauled off, and they were simply awesome. I highly recommend this company! Thanks Katy Tile!
