Ordered a part from J&R Outboard Aug 31,2020. I tried to call them several times over the next 2 months and got a message to leave a message and they would call back. I could not leave a message because their voice mailbox was full. I revisited the place first part of Sept. and they said the part would be in Oct 14. At that time I informed him that his mailbox was full. I tried to call after the 14 with the same mailbox full. I revisited the place Nov 5 and the part still was not in so I canceled the order and got my money back. I dont understand why this establishment has a phone. No one ever answers it and the voice message box is always full and you cant leave a message. If you have any boat dealings with this place, expect to deal with them without using the phone.

Very minimal staff, if any. Dropped off my pontoon over a year ago to have carpeted and upholstered. I paid in advance. It’s been 14 months and several assurances that it would be finished in one week. I’m told the same storyEvery time I talk to Doug the owner.I have to meet him at the shop since his voiceMail is full and has been since April! One star isOne too many. Used to be awesome place.

Wanted to get parts, staff was apparently running drug testing site up stairs. Said Ill be done in just a minute, 35 mins later after standing in a ghost town of a shop with no seats or air I left. I can see why the place looks so deserted. Close up already your business sucks!

I do not understand some of these reviews (for one, the typos). Ive NEVER have had an issue with J&R ripping me off or stealing my belongings. We’ve been taking our boat there for many years and have always had excellent service. I think they’re very knowledgeable and friendly people.

This is a great place to get your boat serviced if you like having it sit in the rain for a month (or more) with lousy customer service. When I brought to them, the owner said they were 2 weeks out before they would even look at it (wouldnt let me just bring it to them when they were actually ready to do something). After a month went by, I had to call them twice, to find out status of even looking at the motor to diagnose the problem. The answer I got was let me find your ticket and get back to you. There was never any get back to you. The owner of this business also owns a drug screen company on the same property--they seem preoccupied with that other company vs. serving their boat customers. I finally decided to yank the boat and take it somewhere else, where it was done in less than a week. When I picked it up, there was no apology or explanation for this total lack of professionalism.

I am very disappointed in my experience with them. Ordered two parts for our boat. We checked on the status on a regular basis. One part came in, but we were told the other was not ordered. The money was pulled from our account the day both were ordered. We ordered again. Was not told for five days that it would be a week for delivery. Went to cancel order completely due to their original error and they would make our refund less 25% restocking fee and double freight charge. Will definitely take our business else where and we own two boats.

The staff was very knowledgable and courteous. We had quick service and very cost efficient.

Went to have outboard fixed ended up trading to a better outboard with more HP plus money owed which is better at least I know this motor will be dependable

This owner is a lier and a rip-off he tells you he will take care of your boat and fix it and then does not do what he tells you even if you give him specific instructions, he does what he wants and then charges you for it and if you dispute it then he will call the law and wont give you your property unless you pay the money regardless if he did the work you specifically told him to do, they steals your belongings out of your boat and then says he is not responsible for your things that are gone, if his dad was still running the business things would not be like that his son runs it and steals you blind keep away from this place. Believe me he has done this to us, our boat wont even start now because they tore it up so he can charge you a lot more money.CAUTION CAUTION STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS IF YOU FALUE YOU MONEY AND PROPERTY

Fast, reliable, and friendly. The mechanics at this shop have been at this for a long time and really know how to fix and maintain boats.
