What a wonderful experience I just had with Barb at the Extra Space location on Annex Avenue! I stored some items at this location over 6 months ago and by the time I needed to add more to my storage space, I had forgotten the code to get in to the property AND lost the keys to my lock. I was worried that I would not be able to gain access to my unit without fees or penalties, but Barb went above and beyond to help me with this situation and get me all set with a new lock. Excellent price, very clean and nicely kept location. Customer service is 2nd to none; courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is no 24-hr access-we both work nights and have weird hours and are up ready to sort when the rest of the world is sleeping. Other than that, would definitely recommend Extra Space storage.

The best place to rent units from. This was the first place I’ve gotten storage from and it’s been nothing but great. The rent went up through the years, which kind of sucked, especially with the pandemic it put us in a rough patch. But other than that great place overall.

Barb Karp helped me out as soon as I got here. Awesome service. I went to Uhaul across the street and they didn’t have my stargaze unit that I reserved online. Went in to move in and they did t have my reservation and/or canceled my reservation. Parking there was terrible. But here, parking isn’t an issue and service was better.

I would have given it 5 stars except they raised my rent after the second month, and they are a bit expensive. Otherwise, clean and easy access, professionally run.

We had the absolute best experience with Extra Space in West Nashville. We moved here in a hurry, and the office staff were super friendly and accommodating to get us taken care of...especially Barb. We were happy to be in business for the last 2 years, and the customer service continued to remain excellent even at move out. The courtesy calls to make sure we were taken care of really set the tone. Of all the storage places in Nashville, I highly recommend this location above the others.

I was in need of a storage unit for the summer before I returned back to college. Barb, the assistant site manager, was so helpful and welcoming. She treated me with the utmost respect and made sure all of my needs were met. I now feel much more comfortable leaving my stuff at Extra Space, and knowing everything is safely secured and the site managers care so much about their customers’ experience. The units are clean, secure, and the surrounding property was well maintained. Barb made sure I knew how to properly lock my items in storage and directed me with an emailed map to the site of my unit. Barb is the best!

Please let me explain the con game at this specific facility. Do not be fooled by the 5 star reviews that they openly solicit and have a quota to get to cover the truth of real ones such as this one.Barbara, the incompetent manager and Extra Space are dealing out to the community the following Homeless creating con to the Nashville community .... Here it is:Customer is in need of storage usually because they are at a disadvantage in life. Barbara gives them a quote that they can afford. A month after all their lives possessions are in there, the con begins. They send a rate hike card disguised as junk mail and small print so you will not read it and bam overnight your rate increases 40 percent. Barbara keeps increasing your rate until you can not pay. They then simply auction your items and you are on your way to becoming another number in the Nashville homeless population while these vultures live like fat cats off your last few dollars. That is how they work. It’s a basic con, but crippling nonetheless.I was lucky. Today I left extra space after numerous debilitating rate hikes. But, Barbara states when you complain that they are allowed excessive rate hikes due to small print in lease. Here is the kicker. My unit was under my attorneys name for protection from these unregulated practices. They refused to back down off rate increases, so I moved out.The most unprofessional Manager, Barbara is surfing Amazon shopping with the office door locked while I am trying to make sure everything is squared away for my move out.She seemed so annoyed to have to get up an open the door. I said that I was completely out of unit #506 and was there anything else that I needed to do. She asked me if I took my lock and I said yes. Then she told me I was good to go and to have a good weekend.Alas, I am away from these vultures that tried to suck every last one of my dollars away from me at this nasty, unsafe facility during a pandemic.Freedom at last ! Woohoo . We can all move forward!Not so fast.My attorney sends me a voicemail from Barbara an hour later demanding 4 days prorated rent before closing my file. Dang, Barbara is determined to just ruin my finances.She already promised a 75 dollar credit over 3 months for over billing and causing my account to go into overdraft 500 dollars. Yes, they take your money without asking.So here is my message to you Barbara, I moved out because of you and your practices and your nasty facility. It was disgusting to see your trash outside your residence every time I came. The garbage can was only 100 feet away.So, the 75 dollar credit that never came because I moved out due to your poor management skills, you can keep for that 4 more days you called my attorney Dan Stanley, to demand.I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and if I ever get another voicemail demanding money from Barbara, I will let the courts decide a remedy to this shady if not criminal enterprise that has nothing but negative consequences for community members.Don’t believe a word out of Barbara’s mouth. She has the inability to tell the truth. Read every word in the lease. Just don’t do it. There are too many legitimate operators of storage facilities to have to suffer my experience.update alert : I have not been out of my unit for 48 hours. It is a MLK day and Barbara relentlessly called myself and my attorney for more money and threatened collections. Extra Space better educate her on threatening collections within 48hrs of move out. I saved all the voicemails that she slurred every word. Barbara should be fired immediately. She is a liability for Extra Space and their shareholders.

They are the best. We had to reschedule move out almost three times after we notified Barb and team here, everytime not only they were so understanding, but also did not charge extra for those days. I showed up a few hours later than my scheduled time and Lindsey completely understood. She was so helpful in explaining the renting process and how they pretty much handle everything for you. Every question I had, she answered thoroughly! She assisted me with applying my lock and operating the gate keypad as well. I can tell she has years of experience in this. Definitely not going back to my old storage!
