Really great place, super thorough and very friendly. I brought my car here whenever it wouldn’t start and they performed many tests and went above and beyond to diagnose the cause. Definitely will be coming here for my auto services!

I am somewhat new to New Braunfels and lamented about finding a mechanic. I went to Christian Brothers for an oil change and to check out some check engine lights and to find if I wanted to use them in the future for repairs. I was surprised by their very clean and comfortable waiting room. I advised I would be taking a long road trip and needed everything checked out. They did the oil change and a free summer multi point road trip inspection (expires 12/21). They take pictures of their inspection and I was extremely pleased with everything they checked out. I thought I would walk out spending lots of money, thinking, surely they will find SOMETHING I need to repair (needed or not), however, they said all was fine with my car and only charged the reasonable fee for the oil change. I feel comfortable now to go on my road trip. They were very friendly, helpful and informative.

Everything about this experience was nice. Comfortable waiting area, shuttle available, very polite and professional men at the counter. I was 15 minutes late and they fit me in. The work was completed in the time they daid it would be. My only concerns were price of an oil change, but still less than a dealer and more comfortable and pleasant. My second issue was the pop Christian praise music, which I mostly was able to tune out as I worked while I waited. Given their name, I wasnt surprised but be advised this is a Christian business, if that is a concern.

One evening, my cars dashboard gave me a engine oil critically low warning. I was new to the area so I looked for local shops and found Christian Brothers, I booked an appointment for first thing the next morning. When I took my car there, I asked for a time estimate and was told we wont know until we can look at it and see what the problem is. Okay, reasonable. I asked when they could look at it. We dont know that either. Okay, then what was the point of my scheduling an appointment? I called multiple times throughout the day to try and get an update and was told theyd have it done by the end of the day. They closed at 6 so at 530 I showed up and asked how it was going. I was told Good news, there was no underlying problem, you just needed an oil change. Okay, great, can I have my car finally? No, were not going to have it done until tomorrow. So my car only needed a simple oil change and it couldnt be done the same day as my first-thing-in-the-morning appointment? This meant I had to be late to work two days in a row. Got my car and was done with it. Two days later Im making a trip across the state and my Oil level critically low light comes on AGAIN. I call Christian brothers and they tell me to find a local store who will honor the warranty on the repair. I call the closest one and explain my situation: Im 200 miles from home, 100 miles from my destination, Im worried about continuing to drive my car. Im told we can see you in three days. I ask, Is there any way you could just take a moment to look and let me know if my car is safe to drive? Obviously I cant just get a hotel room and stay here for three days, Im currently travelling for work. NOPE. Suffice to say Ill never go back. What terrible customer service. Ended up finding another shop who had me in and out in an hour AND fixed the underlying problem!

Totally made my day! I was a little bit panicked to get an inspection done today and had know idea who to use as I’m new to New Braunfels. The young man on the phone was super nice and then at the shop, the young man that waited on me was very nice. As I waited, I listened to others checking in and out and everyone behind the counter was extremely nice and professional. I will definitely use them again!

Can’t speak to cost, but I’ve been in a few times and never felt cheated. If anything, I think they’ve saved money being honest and quick about their work. Customer service is excellent and updates have been good. Have already recommended to close family and would recommend to anyone who asks. Only downside is turning around in their parking lot because it’s a tight space and they stay busy…for a reason.

The day I moved to a new city my car started acting up. It was so stressful! I hadn’t found a “go to” mechanic yet..I hadn’t even unpacked!But a friend who lives here recommended Christian Brothers. Absolutely amazing service! They got me in fast and spent the next two days fixing what could have taken weeks at other shops. Extremely professional and way above my highest expectations. This is the best shop I’ve even been to. It would be worth traveling 500miles just to get your car fixed here. Their honesty will make it well worth it and probably more cost effective. Lol.

My car broke down due to the alternator wearing out at 155k miles. The inspection was pretty thorough because apparently I had a stuck brake caliper I had no idea about! My car was diagnosed and serviced very quickly. Dropped off Saturday, picked up Wednesday. I appreciated the good communication at every step of the way. It wasnt cheap but it was a very good experience from a professional group.

Should be named Jesus Christ! Brothers after I saw the estimate of the repairs for my 2014 Acura RDX. $300 to replace spark plugs. $350 for fuel system service. $3500, yes $3500 to replace five engine and transmission mounts ($750 labor, $2450 parts.) Google the actual cost of these parts for a 2014 Acura RDX. The employee I talked to (Mr. M) sounded more like a high pressure used car salesman trying to sell me products/services that were recommend but not needed. Initially, I made a reservation, took my car in on Thursday, recieved my estimate for these routine repairs, that day along with an indication that it could be repaired same day. By Monday afternoon they had not even begun repairs yet. Car still hesistates when going uphill.

I brought my truck in for a state inspection and they got me right in. The waiting area was so clean and they offered me a water while I waited. The staff are are very friendly. After going to this place I will never take my vehicles anywhere else. I highly recommend Christian Brothers Auto.

Called this morning needing to get my vehicle in for an emergency repair on a bolt that broke while replacing the thermostat over the weekend. Was provided with great customer service and the best repair option for the future life of my vehicle along with some additional emergency repairs that I was unaware needed to be made. We’re from out of state and all of a sudden our truck started over heating. I’m so thankful for the guys at Christian Brothers Auto for working so quickly to find the problem and fix my truck for me. They had to get a part from a different place and had my truck fixed within 2 hours. HIGHLY recommend coming here they are so helpful with such good attitudes, I was so stressed being so far from home but they seriously blessed us today.

Honest place to get your car fix

I had a kitten stuck inside of my car. I took it in, and asked for help. I was helped right away. The guys that work there saved the kitten! As far as I’m considered they went above and beyond their job description. Thank you for your kindness.

They diagnosed my car even after knowing what was wrong with it, but still had to for them. I get it, I respect it. Ordered the part and waited for it to be done, to turn around to find that was not the only issue. So... my car will cost me more. They were very thorough while they were looking over my car and found a mouse nest that Val mark did NOT find a week before. (I have a very good idea when that was established and it’s been a bit) I’m still waiting for the money to come in to get it done, but I will continue my business with these guys. So far, so good! Hopefully they can keep my trust because it’s stressful looking for a good car repair/oil change place that you can actually trust!

We were ready to head out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday and noticed some fluid on our driveway. We called Christian Brothers and they said to bring it right over even though they were ready to close up and leave for the day. The technician stayed over to check out the car and to make sure the vehicle was okay and safe to drive. We are very thankful for their concern for our safety on the road. We highly recommend Christian Brothers for all auto maintenance and repairs!

I changed oil last month, my oil alarm now only one month ago. And they didn’t check my Air filter.

When my SUVs check engine light came on, I took it into a parts store to retrieve the diagnostic code. The code pointed to a problem with the intake manifold runner performance, and since I didnt have the diagnostic equipment needed, I brought it in to Christian Brothers so they could have a look. I had previously used them for something minor, and they seemed nice enough.I dropped the car off at 7 am with instructions to read diagnostics, troubleshoot, and call me with their determination before proceeding. I also requested an oil and filter change, as it was close to being due.Around 12:30, I got a call that the technician was finishing up the oil change and the car would be ready soon. It was explained to me that the Check Engine light was investigated, and I would have to take it to the dealer to have the ECM software logic updated. Fair enough.When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I was hit with a $214 bill, when all I got was an oil change. When I looked at the itemization, I was charged $119 labor for engine performance testing! Really? I could see $30 to $50, maybe, for what many places do as a free service.When I called the local dealership, they told me there were no service updates based upon the VIN number. So here I am, driving around (or mostly not) with my check engine light still on and $215 worth of oil change in my crankcase. Stay tuned, as Im sure this story will only get better.

Noticed my splash shield was hanging down before driving to work, and it got significantly worse after my 45 minute commute. I called Christian Brothers Automotive on my way home, and they were able to take a look at it right away. The woman at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind. Not only did they reattach my splash shield and replace the battery in my key fob free of charge, but then they gave me a discount off future services. I will definitely be visiting them again in the future for any of my car needs that arise.

Service at Christian Brothers Automotive in New Braunfels was outstanding from start to completion. The Service Advisor took a list of mechanical issues; and, soon after, called me with the diagnosis of the problem and an estimate of the cost to repair. The repair was finished at the promised time, and the vehicle is back to normal working order. The entire operation, including the mechanic shop was pristine and orderly. I have found where I will take my vehicles for diagnosis and repair in the future. Very professional! Thanks!

Spent $2000 on A/C repairs that didnt last 3yrs. They also got chemicals on the headlights lens that etched the plastic.

This was my 1st time to visit Christian Brothers and will not be my last. They are very friendly and I found them to be honest. I took one of my vehicles for a general service and checkup (100K miles). They dealt with normal items and then told me of a few other minor things I need to address based on age and miles, but noted that none of that was required at this time and recommended I wait until my next service to re-evaluate. They could have told me it needed those things and I would have paid yesterday. They didnt do that and were honest when they told me they would wait until next time. It was a true gift going here for an alignment! I was visiting in new Braunfels and picked Christian Brothers out of many I found online. The sitting area was nice and pleasant. I was able to use their WiFi and was offered a water or coffee. I was not charged after about a 30 minute wait due to a very small adjustment in the alignment. Thank you! Highly recommended !

They warranty all of their work so your service is protected just like at a dealership, but without the crazy expensive diagnostics fees you’d get charged at the dealership. I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve had my BMW at Christian Automotive several times and usually it’s good business but it was different this time. I’m not sure if it’s because of the pandemic but they really tried to gouge me on replacement of the alternator.They charged me $65 for the electrical testing when I already knew what the problem was but it’s fine I understand.They called me back 3 days later and told me it was indeed the alternator. Then I get a email with how much it was going to be to replace it. $1500!!!!!$900 for the alternator and $500 plus tax for the labor!!!I couldn’t believe it. I had it towed back, bought a brand new alternator online for $300 and changed it myself! (I looked it up on YouTube and have had no previous experience fixing cars).I’m sad to say I won’t be back for any kind of service. I can’t believe they thought that was a fair price and I could only imagine what some person who has no idea has been charged for their service.2 months later and my car is running great. It was very easy to fix. I wish I wouldn’t have waisted my time or money. I just had no idea they would do that. They used to be very fair. Even the towing guy was shocked!

I came here because of the reviews. I had to get my safety inspection today and the staff was courteous and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Always fairly priced... always accommodating (Kevin has personally driven me to my place of business as a courtesy upon vehicle drop off)... and never trying to sell services your vehicle doesn’t need. I had an appointment with CBA of New Braunfels on October 20 at 800AM for some AC work. At 4PM, they called and told me that my technician looked into my concerns and found that the coolant was at the proper level. In their words, everything seemed to be ok. They checked the HVAC temperature door actuator and found it intermittently sticky and they recommended replacing it. I told them to proceed and replace the actuator. Today, October 21, I was told my vehicle was ready to go and that everything was fixed. At around 4PM, I came to get my vehicle and two of the vents blew cold air while the other two did not. Thus, I went back in and shared my concerns. A technician looked at it and said the compressor is good, they simply did not put enough freon back in the system. I watched him put more freon in the system and then take some back out per the machines recommendation. On the drive home, the AC quit blowing cold again. I then returned to CBA and they tested everything and said the compressor happened to go out while they were working on it. They said it was just bad timing and it has only happened twice in the last 7 years. In short, I had already paid $120 for freon, and $165 for the actuator. They then quoted me $1400 for a new compressor and associated labor.In conclusion, is it perhaps possible that the compressor randomly went out during the 30 minutes they were working on it this afternoon? Yes, possible. However, it seems very, very unlikely--especially, after the mess-ups prior to the most recent diagnosis. I simply share this as a warning.In the end, I will say they did a great job on the alignment I had them do. I simply have a hard time believing that the compressor randomly went out as they were working on it. It simply seems a little too random.

Have taken both of our vehicles here multiple times. Great service, honest assessments and convenience! On one occasion, we took our Acura to the dealership for an issue with hesitation during acceleration. Dealership could not figure out the problem, but Christian brother’s did some research and got it fixed. Recently, we took our vehicle to the dealer for a recall and they told us our we needed rear brakes. Took it into CBA for a second opinion, and turns out the brakes have >50% life left. Definitely recommend!

This kind of honesty is extremely rare...I brought my BMW in, and after a full workup, I was given a list of repairs that needed to be done and a list of repairs that would likely need to be done soon. To fix my immediate problem, the need to be done now items, I was quoted about $2900. Very painful to hear, but they explained the reason for everything that needed to be done. Ah, the hidden costs of driving a BMW... everything is more expensive to fix. When they called me to let me know the car was ready, they told me that one of the parts they thought they would have to replace did not actually need to be replaced, which brought the cost down to $1200!!! They saved me a ton of money. I cant believe they did that! Most places would have discovered that the part didnt need to be replaced and replaced it anyway since they likely had already bought the part and were expecting the $2900 income.This is the kind of place Ill always take my car to... very knowledgeable, very friendly, very good, but VERY HONEST!

I walked into the seating area an the first thing I noticed were the certificates hanging on the wall. These weren’t just your regular certifications either, im talking about advanced specialists/master mechanics. Idk but after seeing those I knew the people working on my car knew what I was doing. An it’s tough to feel that comfortable when you have an older German car. Also another thing I really liked about CB is that during the week it was in the shop I could call anytime an ask about the progress an I would get precise information about the progress made. And also during that week there was a bad storm, so I called CB worried that it might hail, an they let my garage kept car sit in the bay all weekend 👌🏽😌

Being from out of town I took my Lincoln MKX to the dealer who quoted me an outrageous Rip-Off price just to diagnose the problem I was having with our air conditioner (not working)!! So I searched the website for another place and saw the high recommendations that Christian Brothers had from other people, so I called them and they scheduled me a time. They were very timely- honest- professional and extremely Reasonable. Everyone from Collin at the front desk to the Mechanic who worked on my vehicle went the extra mile to fix the car.. I came in to Christian Brothers Automotive for a courtesy oil change, not knowing what to expect, as Ive never been a part of anything like this before.My vehicle was serviced and checked for any safety issues. I knew that there were other issues that needed attention, and was expecting to be informed of them. However, I wasnt expecting to be informed of a severe exhaust leak.I was told that it was a dangerous issue and they wanted to take care of it immediately. I had the pleasure of walking into CBA for the first time an was greeted instantly. The whole staff was very kind & professional. While I waited for my inspection (about 15/20min). I was offered a hot cup of coffee/water & available to free Wifi! The service advisor was honest enough to tell me the coolant cap was left off. They immediately located it & put back onto reservoir. Exceptional automotive service at Christian Brothers in New Braunfels. They are friendly, professional, responsive, and do outstanding work. We took a vehicle for service that the dealer attempted (and failed) to repair. The CB team quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem, sent us a detailed email with a description of the proposed solution and costs, and delivered on time. They even sent digital photos of the work! This is a small, family-run business that values customers by treating them with respect and doing high quality vehicle maintenance. Their mechanics are highly trained, experienced, and ASE-certified Master Mechanics who know their business and do clean, effective work. They dont try to compete with tire shops, but for everything else I will take my cars to CB in New Braunfels. I trust them and value their service. Thanks!
