We were traveling south on I-75 from Georgia, towing our travel trailer on the way to vacation when the truck started acting up and the check engine light came on. It being a Saturday worried us that places wouldnt be open. Called these folks up, explained the situation to Chuck and he gave us perfect directions as to how to access the property with the camper. We got there, got unhooked, and they performed a diagnostics. Three ignition coils were bad causing misfiring cylinders. We grabbed lunch and ate in the lobby with our cat while they performed the repairs. Everyone was super accommodating to us, and our cat! We were very impressed with them and reccomend them very highly for any of your automotive needs!! The owner even spent a good amount of time talking with us while we waited. Very very very nice folks!!

They over charged me, I got ripped off by them. My mistake that I took my car there towing guy from Daves Towing referred me to them what stupid I was Just for 2 parts to be replaced. Next day I called the dealer for the quote, they Quoted me about half the price for the same repairs. Please before you take your car to that shop, shop around. my mind just got blocked. Please if you see 4 stars or 5 stars on peoples reviews that is because they have to much to spend get ripped off or they are unaware whats around. as for me I just got ripped off. They buy parts from the local parts store and charges double the price plus labor.

This place is a joke, all they want is the money!!! Wanted to charge me $200 for a front end alignment cuz I went to a different shop to get my rack and pinion done and didnt pay them the almost $1700 they quoted me for my brakes rotors and rack and pinion.

Pals continues to take exceptionally good care of my BMW, Lexus & Maserati. Its comforting to find mechanics here who have the expertise to be able to work on all three of these automotive brands.

First off they dont work the hours advertised. I was told I could come in to have my car diagnosed by the owner Im assuming because he told me that his lowest paid mechanic made $60,000 last year was up front with me telling me he wanted to leave at 4pm instead of there advertised time of 5pm. When I arrived it was 3:35 I thought it might to late but I could at least walk in talk to someone & get a feel of the place & schedule an appointment but guess what they had the door locked already. Which is not what the man who claims to be honest told me on the phone. I guess the 5pm time that turned into 4pm had somehow changed yet again to 3/30 or possibly earlier. Or maybe they locked the door when they saw me pull in whatever the case would be it doesnt really matter I wont ever be coming here again regardless of what kind of a mechanic work they do.. I was already concerned about the price because $60.000 sounds like a lot to me so I figured in order to make that much they may have jacked up prices .All this talk about employee wages came from a conversation with him where he told me the OReily employee that ran a test on my car doesnt know what they are talking about. Which I thought was a little presumptuous on his part & a rude comment to make after all it is just a service that OReillys offers to help you diagnose your car I thought they were being very helpful. I guess when youre a high paid mechanic it doesnt seem very helpful. Thanks for encouraging me to put the extra miles on my already running bad vehicle to come here for nothing. This review isnt so much about service but more about character.

Huge shout out to pals Ocala Auto repair. I was trying to peacefully travel down the interstate when my car decided to rupture a ball joint wheel bearing. Although there were no sparks or flames I definitely wasnt going to be able to keep driving so I quit Google search let me to them and they did a phenomenal job quickly repairing my car. They came through with excellent service and were able to get my car done in a timely manner so I could continue my trip. Super super sweet people and I really appreciate what they did for me. Our car went into limp mode coming back from the beach with our three kids, dog, pop-up camper, bikes, and a kayak. We looked online for a local repair shop and found Pals. We called and talked to the owner Chuck and he was honest and made no promises that he could fix it that day, but said he would take a look, for which we were grateful. We limped into the parking lot 45 min before closing on a Saturday, and Chuck’s team quickly diagnosed the problem (a bad engine coil) and fixed it, and we were back on the road in no time. Chuck explained what else we needed to look at when we got back home. He even gave a toy hotwheels car to our two year old. Very reasonable cost and great service!

This was my first time visiting Pals after moving to the area a few months prior. I found them on the internet while searching for good auto repairs shops. From the second I walked into the door the staff was outstanding! Not only were they above and beyond friendly they were also very professional! My car was serviced and repaired in a timely manner and the price was very reasonable. My husband and I will be taking our vehicles to Pals from now on!

The service was beyond my expectations. I broke down 2 hours away from my moving destination after 24 hours of driving and what could have been a tragic event they squeezed me in at the end of the day on a Saturday and got me back on the road very quickly. It’s difficult to offer up my ‘57 wagon to anyone for anything. However, I’m getting on in years and have a bum right leg. So after 65 years of singularly taking care of my ‘57, with only two prior exceptions (build the 700-R4 transmission for me in 2001, and changing the motor mounts for the ZZ4 engine in 2011), I needed to find a trustworthy, experienced, and honest place to change out my rear springs. Old school so to speak. We’re new to Ocala so started from scratch looking everywhere I could. Found Pal’s on line. Visited the shop. Chatted with Chuck. Decided to have them do it. In a word, JACKPOT. They did a great job. What else can I say? I hope I don’t need to have anyone else do anything to my baby, but I now know where I’ll go. Without hesitation.

Pal’s is so reliable. They were able to quickly tell me what was wrong with my vehicle and get the radiator replaced all in a very short time frame on a Saturday afternoon! They are super friendly and make you feel very comfortable with what they are doing.Looking at negative reviews here I see people complaining about cost. Well folks life has shown us-you get what you pay for! My feeling is -can you get it done cheaper somewhere else? Yes! But, Will it be done well? Will it actually be fixing the issue you are having? I have had my fair share of problems working with private people so I can save $$. These are people you can trust to get the job done right the first time which for me means a whole lot!

I haven’t had work done there yet, but in my couple of trips to their shop it has been a good experience and plan on using them when I need repairs!

I was 250 miles into a 500 mile trip. My car started overheating. I was able to get to Pals auto shop just in time. They reconized my situation and promptly diagnosed my cooling system and located the problem. I appreciate their speedy and professional service. I would definitely recommend using them if you have the chance.

The repair work was good (the mechanics did great work) however when I went to do the Snap Finance I was under the assumption that it was like a line of credit. When I was being rung up for it Chuck didnt understand how it works because he doesnt usually ring it up apparently. I did not know until the end of the work being done for the day after sitting there for five and a half hours and still needing my two tires put on that its not a line of credit but a lease agreement against the parts. My bill of $1,500 is in actuality $3,300 paid over a 12-month amount of time. They also took out a $39 initiating fee that I did not know about until after the fact and it almost overdrew my account. That amount of money is ridiculous I was very angry when I looked at the contract and realized I was going to be making payments every two weeks for a year on double the amount of money. My husband was also upset when I got home and now because of this I need to seek further employment. I thought this would be something that would be paid over maybe six months and not nearly as much as the payments are per month as well. Had I known that I would have had the car towed home and started car shopping. I was NEVER offered another form of finance!!I was NEVER OFFERED ANOTHER FINANCING!!!!!!!! After I got the work and still needed the tires, Chuck had the nerve 2 corner me in the shop while I was waiting for my tires when I told him I had good credit simple I would have offered synchrony if I known that I know there were no signs up around the shop that offers at everything says snap. Now theyre trying to claim that. And you know what I still say that if I had known that they were going to do this I would have just had the car towed off. Look at the reviews noticed some of the names like Chuck Shelly I know notice that Chuck is the guy whos doing the reviews and Shelly is his wife.

.dash touch pad not working at all checked right away and all it needed was a fuse after having 2 shops look at it and didnt know what it was. PALS is now my go to Maserati shop for maintenance and repairs.

We had previous experience with PALS. Problem was resolved, but very costly. Electronic issue with our 2013 VW CC. $3300 in December 2020. Car began running badly due to what seemed to be a fuel problem. Took the car in to PALS Friday afternoon. Invoice was sent by text for $613. We asked to have an oil change done in addition to the repairs. I received a text with the revised price. The cash price was $753.34, and the price to pay by credit card (VISA) was $779.71. A very hefty price for an oil change indeed. We picked up the car, and I noticed Chuck ran my card for $910.18. I asked for an explanation, and was told that his wife forgot to charge two hours labor, and the oil change was “no charge”. Didn’t make any sense at all. I will take this up with my credit card company, and would urge anyone considering doing any business with this company to steer clear.

I had a transmission leak driving on 75 south. All the other repair shops i called told me two days, but Pals was able get my van looked at that day.

We were driving from AZ to Florida in our VW RV. Chuck and the crew were able to squeeze us in for an emergency repair to a water pulley that decided to explode. Joel at Advanced next door was able to track down a part that would work. Helped us save our trip to Disney World and to spend Christmas with our family on time. Grateful for all their hard work and professionalism under what could have turned into a very stressful situation for us. Great teamwork all around ! Thank you all very much!

I was driving home to Georgia from family vacation in Florida. I had my 4 kids and 3 dogs in the car with me because my husband had to leave to come home early. I was driving on I-75 when I started to lose all power with my car. I somehow made it to the next exit before my car completely died. I googled the closest auto garage to me and Pals Auto was the first to come up. I walked to the garage about 1/4 mile and when I walked in I met the nicest lady behind the desk. Her name was Shelly and I told her my story and what happened and her and her husband helped me by getting my kids, animals, and car to the garage. I cannot say how awesome these people are. They were down to earth, nice, and honest. Luckily, it was an easy fix and it was not too expensive. They could have told me a completely different story about what was wrong with my car to jack up the price but they did not. They knew I was all by myself and was just trying to get home safely with my family. This garage and the people that work there were my guardian angels and I cannot thank them enough.

Had my car towed here without calling because it was a Sunday and everyone was closed. Called Monday morning spoke with Chuck who told me later that my starter was gonna cost around $800 to replace. I had the diagnostic done free per their site. I told him I could get it done cheaper and he said go ahead and Ill price match it. I got some written estimates for half the price. Chuck ended up not wanting to price match it so he wasnt honest. I told him Id have it towed somewhere else and he threatened to keep it there without me paying them. Didnt sign anything to pay them. He continued to say that towing it would cost more then me just leaving it there. I had it towed and fixed for less than half of what he quoted me. I would never recommend this place. I even had an issue with trying to pick it up and tow it from their shop.

Kind, considerate, and listened to my problem regarding the car, great service! I have to tell you, I never thought Id find a auto repair place with integrity, but I have found them and I am there for life.I am still in awe of the caring customer service, and the way they treated me. They have given me faith that you can do the right thing and be rewarded.My car now has a home, and I now have an extended family. I broke down on my birthday, this past Saturday, about one hour into my four-hour drive to see my family. I got towed to this shop to see if they could fix the broken hose and get me back on the road so I could make it to my birthday celebration. I had already talked to two relatives that said this issue is a quick and easy fix so, I had confidence that I would be back on the road in no time. At first, I was told they would be able to fix it enough for me to get home for about a hundred and fifty bucks. Then, just a short time later, the mechanic came back and said that the hose snapped off of where it joins the radiator hose.....now they wont be able to fix it that day, they need to keep the car until Monday, I need two new hoses, and its going to cost me about $495. I had to rent a car for another couple hundred dollars and then return in a few days which means that I wouldnt be able to head west to the beach where I planned to spend the weekend. When I got home, I showed by boyfriend and dad the invoice and they were outraged! I was going to be charged multiple times more than the parts actually cost. They were not having this so, Monday morning they drove three hours to Ocala and picked up my car. They bought the parts from the auto part store that is in the same parking lot. They fixed my car in about 10 minutes and only spent about $24 for the radiator hose. However, the shop still charged my dad $136 to get the car back for looking at it. It seems to me like this place saw an opportunity to make some money off a stranded female that didnt know anything about cars. I came in with one broken hose and the next thing I know I have two broken hoses and a quote thats 3 times higher. The whole thing is shady and I would not recommend this shop. They get the one star because they gave me a ride to the car rental place that was 2 miles away.

I did not use this business at this but plan toJust run out due money I owe the irs.

We love the folks who work at Pals. Their professionalism and care for our high-mileage vehicle keeps us coming back and referring our friends and family to them.

Prices were a tad bit more however, they worked with us and everyone was happy!! They also lead with their warranty information whereas other shops NEVER mentioned it. ALL employees were professional and polite. I would recommend and use them again when/if needed. Side note: the person who brought my husband to pick up the car was also pleased just by the way everyone presented themselves. She now will also recommend Pals!! Thank you.

We had problems with our car and being from out of state did not help the situation. However, we were able to find Pals auto shop. I explained the situation and they took me in knowing that my repair will be over by the closing time. They looked at the problem and let us know what needed to be done. They worked on it, passed their closing time and received the car repaired. If you need car repairs on Ocala, all you need is Pals Auto Repair. If they were in my home town, they would be my go to Auto Repair Center. Overall great auto repair shop that cares. All the staff is friendly and professional.

We recently moved from Greater Cincinnati to Ocala. My wife has a Red 2006 Mercedes CKL convertible with low mileage. We always had the car serviced by Mercedes Dealers. We decided that we did not want to go to Gainsville for service. We found Pal Auto Service and were very impressed with the quality of service, the professionalism of Chuck and Shelly.

The staff was super friendly and there seemed to be a very positive work environment! Moved a little slow, but was very honest with their diagnostic and super helpful about next steps!

Was traveling to Illinois and broke down on I 75, mid Friday afternoon. My replacement transaxle was in Tampa but with quick thinking and efficient work I was back on the road before noon Saturday. I was looking for a reputable business to give me a second opinion on my vehicle, after getting an estimate on my car from Honda of Ocala, I felt it was best to search for another to verify what problems I have. I googled places and pals popped up and it was so nice to talk with someone knew what he was talking about and was empathic to my situation. Chuck was great, I made an appointment and when I arrived he and his wife were welcoming and knowledgeable and I knew I was at the right place. Being a marine veteran’s daughter I was pleased to meet another marine Veteran. He took care of my problem for less and I will be taking my car there from now on.

Tried to charge me $150 before telling me whats wrong with my car only to tell me what I actually needed when I decided to not pay and leave. I wouldve gotten the work done had they been upfront with me from the get go. the receptionist kept accidentally overcharging peoples cards too. very dishonest and shady people, thats how they keep their business running I guess. save your money and visit 10th street garage or plenty other mechanics who not only charge $50 for a diagnose but are efficient with their job too.

I was on a road trip with my 2 kids in the car when I suddenly heard something dragging and rubbing on my front drivers side tire. Still 2 hours from home and pouring rain, I went to the closest auto shop which happened to be Pals Ocala Auto Repair. Chuck graciously took me in at closing time when he saw how desperate and stressed I was traveling solo with kids. While there was no time to do the repair, they were able to secure the problem so I could make it home safely. They even gave my kids hot wheel cars to play with! Thank you so much for helping this mama during a stressful time.

My car broke down just outside of Ocala in the first leg of my vacation journey. First the A/C then the engine went; my dog and I were in dire straights on a super hot day in August. The tow truck driver took us to the best repair shop he knew and I have to agree ! They were dog friendly and let me bring my pup into the air conditioned waiting room while they checked the car over. They put me on priority and I got my car back the next day. In the mean time they drove us to a dog friendly hotel and then picked me up the next day. I’d say above and beyond service. My car is working beautifully and A/C is blowing super cold air. We was from out of town are car broke down in 75 they was only one open they took advantage of us 874.00 for a battery that we really didnt need and a alternator I will never suggest these people again I talked to other people in Florida they all said the same thing we had 3 little children with us sad thing was they took from them they are awful people to do that

Chuck and Shelly customer service was exceptional. They were not able to fix my car due to traveling and having a blown engine. I would highly recommend them if you are traveling and need assistance with your car.

I went in to get my mothers AC serviced. They found the problem, cooling fans that stopped working. I was told that it would be $149.00 for a estimate and diagnosis of problem. I was given a estimate $1600.00 to complete repairs. A new fan was quoted at $948.00. This price was roughly 300% higher than ordering the part myself. I refused to pay this price and did not receive the repairs. I ordered the part and repaired the vehicle myself in 2 hours. I was shocked to receive a bill for $172.00 for a estimate instead of the quoted $149.00. Being in the service business for 14 years I prided myself on being honest. I left Pals thinking “WOW!!! They are a bunch of rip offs!”. I will by default warn anyone who asks where they should get their car fixed not to go to Pals.

Pals was fantastic. My truck broke and they got me in without an appointment on a Saturday and went right to work. Very upfront about prices and what needed to be done vs what could wait. Everyone was very professional, and helpful. I definitely recommend them.

I 100% trust Pals with my car. They only do what is necessary and are fair and honest. Chuck, Shelly and Ivan are great to work with and go above and beyond to work with you and your busy schedule. I would never take my car anywhere else. The staff and everyone there was so courteous polite funny. I ended up with a flat tire and had to go to a hotel and we came back the next day and they were so courteous and quick so we could get home, we live two hours south of here and we told him about our trip, and they were so fast. If ever I’m in Ocalla again and need a car repair or something done I will definitely go to Pals

Pals employees are so very responsive, helpful and caring. Late on a Friday afternoon, just before they were to close, I had some kind of battery or electrical problem. Without hesitation, they took my car right in, evaluated the problem and fixed it! Their professionalism, auto expertise and kindness were just what I needed. I highly recommend them!

Wonderful people to deal with, great customer service, reasonable prices. Work is top notch, better then dealerships. Highly recommend for ALL your auto needs. Patrick and Chuck are great. They work hard to ensure service work is done correctly. You will not leave unsatisfied.
