Their time estimates are bad, i was told my car would be ready much earlier than it actually was. Theyll keep your car over the weekend if you dont pick it up on a friday, i was not informed of this at all, as most other precisions open on saturdays. Staff is rude, he tried to talk to me about responsibility when i complained about their weekend pickup policy not being communicated clearly. They do not accept feedback, i was not in the mood to exchange words with them.Overall, work done on my car is OK. Id still stay away from this establishment from now on and urge you all to do the same.

On Friday April.9,2021 I had my vehicle which was in good shape diagnosed and serviced at Precision tune. I was aware I just needed a new Serpentine belt and a new A/C hose installed upon being inspected by their mechanic. I paid for the services which cost me $750. I then had my vehicle picked up around 4:30pm that day. On Saturday April.10,2021 the next morning around 7am the vehicle loss control due to their shop faulty mechanic service and was Totaled out in a accident due to their negligence. After the accident I contacted their location letting them know what had happened and if they test drove the vehicle prior to me picking it up, because something wasnt inspected after the service was performed which cause the vehicle which was perfectly fine to loss control after being service the day before. I was advised to call back on Monday morning only to get the run around from Bobby who did not seem concerned at all that someone could have abruptly loss there life due to his mechanic shop negligence. He then mentioned he would contact my insurance company as well as his insurance to handle the investigation. I contacted the shop again April.21,2021 with no results only to be told by Bobby that he will not give me his insurance information. I believe this mechanic shop should not be providing services to vehicles using uneducated and unskilled mechanics and then dont want to take responsibility or liability of their mechanics mistakes and negligence. Beware I would have gave 0 stars but I had to give 1 to write a honest review. Im a person who never give bad reviews unless its really bad... Im sure they will lie and say they havent serviced my vehicle because of this shop carelessness, but I have a receipt and proof of a Totaled out vehicle outside I can no longer drive. Beware.

I have been going to precision tune up up for 30 years. Ive always loved the service, patrons and mechanics, until..The day I was there a woman, man and 2 children entered. None of them had on mask. The children were running around, the area is not even that big, granted 3 of us were already in the supposedly social distancing position. When I asked the woman behind the desk why didnt she ask them to put on mask, or leave, she informed me in a very negative manner, Precision Tune Up, does not enforce the sign outside the door that says you must have a mask on before entering. I was shocked!! I guess its, Money over Lives!!! Very Disturbed.

I was there on Sat 1/16 in the morning.. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I bought Trico Onyx wipers for my car (AWESOME product)..and he very nicely put them on my car.

I took my car to them for Uber state inspection, it was done fast as promised, I was waiting for it.Friendly, very knowledgeable staff.

This was my 1st time going there to get a state inspection it took over 2.5 hours to get that done then another 1.5 to resolve the issues.

SCAMMERS!!! Not certified mechanics. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They stated my car needed an axle replacement, all new mirrors, and a bunch of other easy money making scams. I took my car to another shop and everything was fine and passed the inspection. These people have no idea what they are doing and have terrible customer service. I waited 4 and a half hours for them to even look at my car. I was originally told an hour and a half. I said that was fine and left. After 3 hours I visited the shop and said I would be in soon. I waited. After 4 and a half hours and I went in again, then 2 more hours later, miraculously my car somehow fails EVERY CATEGORY! No apologies for the ridiculously long wait which wasted my entire day off, no explanation on why the parts needed to be fixed. Worst mechanic shop ever. Do not waste your precious time and money like I did, please!

Fast and thorough, but the waiting room is small so I suggest dropping your car off if possible. Ive been here twice, both early AM, and maybe the check in lady isnt a AM person so dont expect warm and fuzzy, but she does her job. Great experience here. I had some work done because a strange feel when driving. It ended up being my tire rod and the need for 2 new tires. Pete worked with me and my crazy schedule. Customer service from other staff and techs was also excellent. Prices about normal but lower than expected. My new place!

I have been going to this Precision Tune for 20 years, since taking my mothers car there in 1999. Last year I had a great service done by Bobby Jackson, who went to lengths to make up for an incomplete job done by a former mechanic there, and this year, had a good oil change, though I waited 2 hours for what I was told shouldve been a 30 minute wait. But last month, I sent my car there for a broken throttle cable, which I was well aware of from prior breakage, and which Pete assured me could be fixed. 2 days later, he called me and said they couldnt find the part, and I looked for the part myself, and I explained how I was ripped off by a con mechanic who promised the part. He threatened to impound my car if it wasnt moved, or part couldnt be found. Tow truck driver showed how easily the cable could be fixed with a single screw, which I, or Precision Tune could have done in an easy 2 minutes, which was since done; no new part was even needed. I wasted hundreds of dollars on transportation, towing for a simple job Precision Tune would/could not do--then slyly tried to charge me a diagnostic fee, which was I was never told of in advance, or during the service, which was ultimately not done, and when I already knew what the problem was. They did recommend future repairs, which is helpful, but the poor treatment I received, and, the sly diagnostic charge slipped on me which I was never told of, and when I already knew the problem, incensed me. I always had good experience with Bobby, who has always been helpful, and I trust, but this time, Pete did as little to help as possible, and treated me badly. This was enough for me.

Went here for oil change. Advised them.my hood can be a little difficult to open. They told me $39 just to open my hood and that didnt include the oil change. I went to another place down the street near Auto zone and had a guy open it within two minutes if that and got my oil change done. I definitely wont be returning or suggesting anyone to go here.

Very friendly, personable staff. However, I took my car in a couple months ago to get my left headlight replaced—kind of trickier to do yourself on that side, so thought itd be worth it to pay. Recently moved to a different state and my left headlight failed state inspection because it wasnt properly reinstalled from the bulb replacement. Ended up having to pay MORE money down here in labor for the shop to correct what I thought was a basic fix in the first place. Shouldnt have to pay for basically the same job twice.

Ive been coming here for 10 years. Very experienced and professional mechanics. I love the fact they fix the issue and I never have to come back for the same problem. Their honest so I always trust theyre opinion. A little pricey sometimes but you get what you pay for. A great shop with a good and convenient location!!!!

Good service but they are always packed. I used to be able to wait while my cars oil was being changed, now I have to leave me car and come back. They need more staff or something to help work on the cars. They also always trying to find other stuff to fix making your bill go up. I have to tell them no just fix what I came for. Small parking lot as they share with jiffy lube next door.

Ive been bringing my car here for the last 5 years for general maintenance. A few months ago I needed a new catalytic converter. $$$$ Bobby the mechanic took the time to explain things. He even texted me pictures of the parts that needed to be replaced while I was working. My car has been running like new since the repairs. It was money well spent.

Pete and the mechanic (Im so sorry, I forgot his name! I only met him briefly at checkout and I had been communicating with Pete all morning) were very nice, and they kept me updated throughout service on my car. They were honest about what needed to be done and there were never any surprises in regards to both price and issues. I would definitely recommend to everyone in the area and I will return for future service!

My daughter recently moved to Owings Mills and this past weekend she hit a curb bent her rims among other things. As a parent of an only child, who moved so very far (at least for me being in College Park) from home you can imagine how I felt when she desperately needed a reputable mechanic to make her feel safe again. She called several places to get a quote including Precision Tune Auto Care. She choose this establishment not because of the price but because of the customer service. I spoke to Bobby Jackson and I have to say as someone who have dealt in the Customer Service field/area I too was satisfied. Although financial savings is a plus its the basic customer services that matters. I will definitely recommend this establishment. Thank you.

Horrible shop. We took our car in for a Motor Vehicle inspection for Maryland(we just moved here). It took them 6 hours to bring our car in, another hour to inspect!! They said our car failed inspection and had a huge list of reasons. However, in the last state we were in, there was not single issue with the car or how it ran. They don’t care about their customers at all; I would give this zero stars if possible but it makes me mark one. DO NOT come here for your car, they will rip you off big time.

The Owings Mill Precision is always my go to spot! I love them. I’ll call other Precision Tune but they’re always booked (at least for an oil change). It only got a 4 star because their pricing like anywhere else it inundate you. Sometimes pricing can be superfluous too(I wish they had college student discounts lol). But overall they don’t disappoint. Please don’t have an influx haha.

I love this precision.....mind you their prices might be a little on the steep side but the job always gets done perfectly....and I can live with that !!!!

They are very efficient, reliable and friendly. Never over charge and tell you beforehand that something is wrong, tell you the cost and start maintenance only if you agree to the additional cost. Otherwise you just get the service you want. I used to go to them even when I had moved to New York for some time. Highly recommended.

So i went in to just get a copy of an inspection certificate that they did for me a couple of months ago. Pete, the owner, said to give him a couple of minutes because the technician needs to pull the information. 45 minutes later he tells me that the technician that did the inspection was off today and no one else can access it. 45 MINUTES?? TO TELL ME THAT? Then he tries to put it on me that it was my fault that I needed a duplicate. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Absolutely fantastic. I was able to get in there New Years Eve for some trouble with my car and they focused on that problem. They told me what else I had wrong with it but they werent looking to push more work than what you want on there. Exactly what I look for in the car repair industry. I cant recommend this place enough. Their prices are very fair and they have coupons!

I came in today to get my MD State Inspection done and was told that I could wait since it would only take about 45 minutes. I was on my lunch break so seemed harmless. After one hour had passed, I inquired into finding out a more accurate timeline and I was told “It will just be a little longer.” Since there was only one customer ahead of me, I still had little concern for my time. One MORE HOUR AFTER I asked again what was taking so long. At that point the told me they were “just getting started” on my inspection. The communication and service at this establishment are at best horrendous. As a service provider, giving an accurate timeline to your customers is paramount and I’ve concluded that this time wasting trap will NEVER see business from me EVER AGAIN! What a terrible experience for such a simple inspection...

I went a few months ago and just forgot to write a review. Honestly Im so thankful that I went there and got my quote redone. I had used a local mechanic that I wa referred to and they completely tried to take advantage of my lack of knowledge and charge me for random stuff that wasnt necessary. One of the owners of precision, sorry I forgot your name, came out and helped me out. I havent had any issues since. Im just writing this now but Ive been sending folks their way ever since.

Employees are good listeners. The auto mechanic performs a skilled repair. And, the repair is completed with accuracy at the first appointment.

Honest people and they do good work. They tell you what is wrong but do not pressure you to fix anything. I stumbled across them after paying a fortune for shotty dealership work and a bad experience with another garage. It may not look inviting, but their shop is clean, their staff courteous, and prices reasonable (especially when they offer Groupons). If you still arent convinced, get your oil changed there once, youll see what I mean.

Truck broke down and had it towed onsite. They diagnosed a fuel pump, and $750 later I was working. 3 weeks later, same exact issue. Local mechanic to my home said it was a wiring harness, fixed it for $60. Their troubleshooting skills are either really bad, or they are dishonest. You pick.

Family has been taking our cars here for more than 10 years. These guys are legit. They will never sell you something you dont need and will give it to you straight when its time to let a car go.

A few months ago I took my car in for an oil change. After completing the oil change, Pete tells me that the threads on my oil plug had broken. He stated this came from normal wear and it happens all the time. He states that an oversized plug was installed and I was charged, I beleive it was $8. I go back a few weeks ago for another oil change. A week or two later I notice an oil leak. I took my car back. Now I am being told by Pete I need a oil pan for $600+. After speaking with several mechanics and the dealership. I found out that the plug is made of steel. Eventhough I am not a mechanic, I do know it takes alot of pressure to break steel. I am being told that it was overtightened. I was also told that there are circumstances where it can be repaired verses totally replacing the oil pan. This was never an option presented. I will never return or recommend. Honesty is everything!!!!

I took my truck here for an inspection, the man told me that I needed to replace a rear hub bearing and that one of the lights over my rear license plate was out and that i needed to have it repaired and/or re inspected with un 30 days. So I took it to my personal mechanic for repita, who verified that nothing was wrong with my vehicle and when he went to change the bulb over the plates, it had been unscrewed. What a bunch of untrustworthy scam artists. I will never go there again, nor recommend them.

These guys saved my old lady of a car. She is 197 k. The alternator died and i barely made it in as an emergency without an apointment. They diagnosed the problem, then replaced the alternator. I was out in a couple of hours. Car is running well. Looked like a good (closer to the low end then the median) price for alternator replacement (parts and labor). Afterwards they helped me understand how to turn of my maintance light for oil change.

I have had a few things done a few weeks ago and yday. Last year had an oil change n a few weeks later had someone check oil also a Mechanic, showed me oil stick n about 11/2 quarts low. No leaks. I asked yday to see the belts they took off n was not mentioned. I always get someone else to check behind work they do. They are good people, however not sure about their pricing as of yet. I will call continue to use them, however, I do have someone recheck things.

I took a 2016 Honda Accord in for an inspection, and since that visit, my car has had numerous mechanical issues that’s caused me to be in and out of the mechanics shop for two weeks and each time, it has to be towed over. These people are honest. Pete isnt the sweetest guy ever, but he is competent for the business. they are veerrrry particular about charging for diagnostic ...pretty much all the time even if its pretty obvious what is wrong with the car to the owners mind when they come in requesting a specific thing to be fixed. I guess that is to cover themselves; and they arent doing it free or throwing that part in.....which seems normal to me (particularly if the problems are a real mystery) becasue you dont want to do diagnostic and then the person just take the car somewhere else. But if you follow through and spend 500 and up....geeze seems like the diagnostic should be applied to/agasint your actual repair bill. So, they nickel and dime you a little, but they are the best in Baltimore for telling the truth and doing good work. One time I was standing in there and a man was frustrated that he had towed his car there, knew what was wrong with his car, and yet right off the bat he was going to be charged for a diagnostic he felt he didnt need. ....., and Pete said, so youre a mechanic? I would have just told the guy that if he actually gets the work done there, after the diagnostic $, those funds will be applied to the job itself. But hey, do I own the company?:)
