This place is super super aesthetic and such a local gem! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed being able to sit for hours working while sipping on their turmeric latte. The wifi here is also fast, and I enjoyed the unique ambiance - there’s even a car as a decoration here! Would definitely recommend coming here.

This is a hidden gem in the heart of Palo Alto, nestled in between shops on Cal Ave. Recently a friend and I went there for coffee and we ran into Ryan and had a lovely conversation with him and his Dad about how we could build more community. It was so nice to just sit and chat with them both and share stories about our families and remodels:)The coffee is yum (turmeric chai latte), the teas are fresh tea leaves put into sachets, and of course they pastries are yum.My favorite spot to sit is by the fountain.

This was a fun find! I thought the coffee shop was closed until we found a narrow path between two walls. Its definitely a place to take a visitor from out of town. Its kind of a bay area like place. Its like a backyard bbq where young people are on their MacBooks or having a meeting. Yes, you can just walk from the parking structure directly to the coffee stand, but take them from the main street :)Desert Rose Latte - Its definitely unique, but didnt really like the cardamom or whatever the clumps were.Iced Nutella Mocha - really was just iced latte. Nothing unique.Still prefer Philz or Voyager.

GOURMET COFFEE IS RIGHT WOW Ive only been here twice and it has blown me away each time. Got a regular iced oatmilk latte and a rose oat milk latte the second and ooo la la they were g o o d. My friends are addicted to this place and I understand why. I also just love the fun cozy outdoor seating. The vintage car is a whole vibe. Love it! Cant wait to come back for more

Overpriced, I think. Coffee is usually good, sometimes very bland. Definitely not worth the 7 bucks I paid today for a pour-over. The setting is really nice though, a great place for an outdoor meeting or break from the office.

Very nice! Overpriced drinks (5 for a basic size) but they have very good selections and the two guys worked efficiently and were friendly. They mixed up my drink so I went back and they kindly fixed it. Delicious and overall a good experience. Cute entrance with wall art. It was busy so it must be good!

First time visit. Many students recommend this place. The surrounding is free, and relax. The coffee surprised me! People say there is only watery coffee in US. I thought so too until now. This is just one of the coffee shops around the corner. But hey, it IS really good.Im happy with my order. Avacado Toast which is light, mixture of fresh Avacado, and tomato and herbs that brings a little of some kick but not strong enough to take away the freshness of the greens. One of the things I like about this place is that the casual and relax feeling is just a natural. There is no loud music to make the statement that this is a good coffee place. Everything I feel the whole time is a backyard where you can really enjoy the free time with great coffee.

An interesting narrow walkway leads you to a quaint area with a cozy setup. The staff is very warm and even let you try out your order before you finalize it. We got the boudin brew which is a cardamom based light tea. It tastes a bit like chai but lighter. This was a 4.5 for me but with the positive attitude of the staff I’ll round this up for a 5. Recommend going and I will try snd sit there next time I go!

I asked Google to find coffee places near me and I found this place and decided to go only cause of the name and pictures of location. It was like finding a secret society meeting location! Which was like an adventure in itself if you approach the location from the main street you will miss it if youre not looking closely you have to be walking on the sidewalk it is a little tiny alley most artistically decorated and immediately has an atmosphere that is extremely welcoming and friendly a very rare spot and unique I have never been to a business like this ever it is amazing. I met the owner his name is Ryan he is very welcoming, friendly, very informative and very willing to share a little history about his place about his own coffee creations and very unique way they make their coffee with all fresh and independently attained healthy products he uses to make his coffee and food. I ordered a Richard with Nutella milk espresso and it was made absolutely perfectly balanced just the right amount of everything awesome amazing coffee. I also ordered because I heard somebody else order it a breakfast pupusa with jalapenos it is by far the most delicious perfect pupusa I have ever had this place is amazing, this place is pieced together with a lifetime of culinary and business history. There is a taco truck to the left as you enter from the back which looks exactly like you are entering someones backyard from an alley as you proceed through the back yard gate to your right is seating under pop up tents and outdoor umbrellas with propane heaters if its too cold The place is very busy and obviously a local spot. As you proceed past the taco truck on the left and pop up tent and outdoor umbrellas on the right to the left is a quaint little shed with art on it and next to that is the coffee barista bar where everything is prepared fresh from coffee grounds to real herbs and spices used in the coffee past that is another little seating area which all of this is under a backyard porch canopy and behind an old house that has been converted to an office which will soon be according to Ryan another extension to backyard brew in front of that is an ambient water fountain with very light pleasant and positive mix of Latin music playing as you pass by the fountain you are then passing through the artistically and culturally decorated tiny Alley that leads you through the front entrance to the main Street which you cant help but turn around and look back and think to yourself this is a one of a kind place and you cant wait to come back it truly is a very unique and amazing friendly warm and positive place to be! I will be back and I will tell everyone I know about this place and I will stop every time I am here without thinking twice no matter what is going on I have to stop it is that great and amazing hats off to Ryan for creating an extremely unique experience and place to be thank you Ryan and all of your staff who were all very positive grateful and happy.

Ordered the Desert Rose, Afagato, Nutella Chocolate, Almond 🥐 and chocolate 🥐. Kids devoured the chocolate 🥐. Oldest said the Nutella chocolate had a hint of Nutella. Desert Rose was nice rose was good, not too strong and cardamom was fore front. Husband liked the afagato. He said it was good, not great or amazing, but good. Service was nice and friendly. There was no line when we walked up and as we ordered, 2 people lined up. I liked that the cashier did not make us feel pressured or rushed which tends to happen at other places when they see people arrive in lines. Thanks for the great services and food!

Possibly the best coffee place on the mid-peninsula. Middle-Eastern flare, with lots of options for coffees and teas with added spices. Kind of a family run place, not pretentious, often the same person who takes your order will turn around and make the drink. Consistently great service. The only downers are shortened hours (close at 2pm) since COVID-19 started, and their outdoor area can get truly uncomfortable in the cold and/or rain (no heaters permitted thanks to some regulation). But when the weather is halfway decent, it’s pleasant to sit in their patio area (which is not fancy, btw, but has plenty of fresh air with a nice mix of sun and shade).

Brunch places ..kindly make way coz we have a mighty winner amongst us. Backyard Brew is hands down one the most underrated brunch places Ive been to and ticks all checkboxes with aplomb. This place is hard to discover if you havent seen it on Yelp probably located in the middle of a parking garage and a farmers market :-)Ample seating in the inside with fabulous service. The food probably is the best [and most economical] part of it. My personal favorites were the Avocado Toast and the Egg Sandwich. At ~6-7 $ per dish, this place is an absolute steal and is a breath of fresh air in an age where we pay ~15 for a simple avocado toast. And surely surely the Turkish coffee is a must try.
