Had asked my daughter to pick up a baguette after not visiting the shop for a while.Sorry to say but this is NOT a baguette, NOT crusty at all outside. It is just a dough baked in baguette shape.I usually do like to leave a good review but quality and the price would not qualify to be called a baguette especially by a well known French patisserie. Hugely disappointed. I might as well go to Costco and purchase their sourdough baguette for better price and for quality.
Great bakery stop, with a variety of cakes and tarts! They also have coffee and tea if youre not into desserts, and theyre as delicious as the lemon tart!
I used to love coming to this place. Both the Redwood City Store and this Palo Alto one. Things have definitely changed. The croissants arent as good. The variety, consistency, and quality of the products/pastries have gone down. Something must have changed in the last month or so. Its noticeable. I used to send friends and colleagues here all the time, but I think its time for a change. Bummer !
Great pastries, loved the kouign amann particularly and great coffee!
For the prices the pâtisserie is offered here, I expected much less waiting time and more elegant and sophisticated taste experience.
The pastries and strawberries tart were yummy. But the cashier was not that nice.
New French bakery cafe which, while feeling elegant and upscale, is inviting at the same time. I personally hold that any fine establishment should have at least one lemony offering, and Colette’s does a superb job. Their lemon tart has a delightful tang in the custard with a genuine meringue topping. There are even candied lemon peel pieces at the base of the pastry. Wow.Spectacular surprise for thinking I’d just have a good afternoon read.
Fantastic pastries, my latte was delicious as well. Will definitely be returning. 🥐
Smaller venue. Better selections at the Menlo park and Redwood City locations. Seems that the products here are less fresh. The baked goods are good, but still way too expensive. A pan au Chocolat was small, but almost $6. And we also tried 3 of their special baked goods and none were lower than $10 each and all of them the size of my palm or smaller. It was delicious, but not worth it.
Good coffee, excellent brioche and croissants. Sandwich arent exactly to die for but will get you through the day (go for the less popular ham and cheese and get it warmed up). Its a popular neighborhood shop with cute design and nice staff. Can be quite busy at lunch time. 4 to 5 USD for the croissants and coffee, about 9 for the baguette. They have a few plates and cups, but make sure to explicitly ask for it or youll get one-way paper cups and plates.
Now I know what its like to be a crack addict. The chocolate/almond croissant is unbelievable !!! Im not a big pastry guy, but Id drive 15 miles to get one of these. A good friend told me about this place, said the croissants were a bit pricey but so is a great bottle of wine. Considering I didnt need to have lunch after this and barely needed dinner, it was a bargain.
Bathroom always closed... yes def will have lots of coffee at this place lol
Should have 6 stars, really very good and worth its price.Nice drinks and very good cappuccino. We will keep coming hopefully not too often 😂🙏
Dramatic price increases, hopefully temporary. A large cappuccino and chocolate croissant used to be about $8 before covid19, now over $11. Other nearby independent Cafe charges more like $9 for same. It adds up.
Paris Brest was tasty and had a slight crunchy texture to it, which I really enjoyed. We also tried the salad with buratta and that was an absolute winner. Even for downtown Palo Alto though this place is really expensive ($$$). Worth a try though
Cute corner brunch place, love the experience. Come in the morning though because by the afternoon some of the pastries might be gone.
Good but not excellent. Totally overpriced.
Super yummy baguette sandwiches and baked goods!
The best croissants in the area.
The coffee was good, and their croissants are unique, super big. Its not your everyday croissant. Id definitely suggest the almond one, and if youre not big on too sweet stuff dont go alone so you can share it with your friend
Not to fresh! Very expensive. $11-12 for a piece of not too fresh pastry…
Great pastries and sitting area.
Was not impressed with their tiny selection which also lacked variety. The coffee drink I received was average at best. Had high hopes based on other reviews but was sorely disappointed. Certainly not worthy of a return visit.
Quaint little pâtisserie in Palo Alto serving up delectable pastries. You’ll find a small line wrapping around the store as only one person is allowed inside at a time (during the pandemic). Make sure to order in advance online and give them a little extra time to put your order together. Your order will be on a counter right by the door.
Lovely place with friendly service and good coffee. I love the pain au chocolat here.
My ham and cheese croissant was delicious and the latte I had was superb. The Kougin-Amann was also wonderful. Everything looks and tastes wonderful, it’s hard to pick what I’m getting
Pastry-wise, the best I have had in the peninsula area, croissants, cakes, bread, all good. Just wish I had the indoor back.
Great coffee and pastries.
Dont miss this place! Almond croissant is the best
Very good but almond croissant has filing. Not classic.
Needs to implement touch free checkout. Every client going there is touching the same button on the screen. The sanitizer bottle has been out of liquid for a couple of weeks
Was worth the wait, they had heart shape dessert for Valentines day
I just moved over from Australia for work and this place is absolutely first-class. Wonderful staff, tasty food and great coffee! Cant ask for more :)
Best almond croissants ever
Clean space, great coffee and yummy pastries! Worth the wait!
They make great almond cream - both their almond croissants and their galette des rois are amazing.
Only 4 stars because their French bread is not good. But their French pastries and cakes are worth trying. We have tried their family dinners during quarantine and they were also great. What is not good is the inconsistency of having and not having them. Maybe they were trying to see what worked during the pandemic.Their galette des rois is very good although we preferred the one from Maison Alyzee. But not bad and much better than the galette des rois from Les Gourmands Bakery in SF on 5th St.Still our favorite place for Mille-Feuille and viennoiseries (when Maison Alyzee is too far...).
Not cheap but good pastries and a few outside seats. Near the street so not good for kids
Wow- this is the coziest, cutest, quality cafe in all of Palo Alto. Nestled off the busy University Ave, this cafe serves the full range of coffee beverages with fantastic tasting espresso. They even have oat milk! And their pastries. Oh my word. Melt in your mouth delicious. Truly such high quality it blows my mind. Highly recommend the chocolate almond croissant!!!
Wow! Mademoiselle Colette took me to Paris. I gorged on the savory Koug aiman and am still thinking about their Machiato!
Tried a few of their baked goods and thought they were just ok. Maybe my expectations were too high from reading the rave reviews.
Amazing coffee and pastries. Great service too. Everything looks really delicious. We were in the area and stopped by for cappuccino and pastries. And I’m so glad we did. I loved their coffee and pastries were really fresh and tasty. None of the soggy leftovers you find in some other places. I will definitely go back to try more of their yummy food.
Good cakes but unreliable. They lost my order so we wont have a cake for a birthday party...
Really nice, good pastry, only they were out of a lot of things by the end of the day.
Awesome pastries and coffee!
Great coffee, made to perfection croissants - we tried almonds and chocolate. Feels like Paris
One of the best in the Bay Area!!
Nice, cozy, delicious
Best pastry in town!
Try the croissants. You almost feel in Paris ( at Californian prices )
I love this place. A great place to spend a Saturday morning. Although overpriced, it’s a really enjoyable place, and the only spot I can feel like I’m back in Paris
Beautiful space. Almond Chocolate croissant are rich and sweet. Good to share with a cup of tea
Delicious espresso drinks, service personnel are polite and friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed. Overall a great experience.
Dont make fun of people with nut allergy. Its very common and serious.
Best croissants in the South Bay area. I am comparing with Manresa Bread in Los Altos downtown and Alexander Patisserie on Castro street in Mountain View. Croissants from Starbucks or Safeway dont even enter the comparison.
Great pastry 🎂🎉🎂
The food is meticulous, fresh, and delicious. The coffee is gorgeous. The ambiance is relaxing and warm.
Food is amazing but so overpriced and staff was pretty unfriendly both times I went there for breakfast... I felt like I was bothering them in their talks
Super cute. Very good coffee and the most attentive barista Ive ever met. I just got a madeleine because the other pastries/tarts were pretty expensive; it went very well with the coffee but wasnt too special on its own.
A bit pricey but everything is top notch! Love the almond croissants and cold brew coffee, among other things....
Yum yum!
Good croissant, kouign amann and French pastry.Pastry prices are a bit high (Palo Alto pricing), but coffee prices are okay.Probably one of the best French pastry in the area.
I think this bakery is a hidden gem in Palo Alto. I enjoyed their crossaint and brioches a lot. Lamination on the pastry is just perfect. Pastry stays crispy without preheating
Amazing creations (from eclairs to croissants and a whole bunch of other things). Among the better coffees in Palo Alto too.
Beautiful patisserie in the heart of Palo alto. Easily accessible from lots of major offices and investment firms. Delicious coffee, pastries and sandwiches successfully compliment a parisian-styled interior.
I had high hopes for this place as I love their Menlo Park location. We ordered a ham and cheese, and a chicken sandwich. I found them to be too expensive (around $15) for ready-made sandwiches. The bread in both was really hard to chew (my husband only ate the ham and cheese and had to leave the bread), and the chicken sandwich had hardly any chicken in it, it was mostly arugula, sun dried tomatoes and sauce. The other issue with it were the restrooms. They are shared with a barbershop and they were so dirty we couldnt use them. We had to go to the taco place next door and asked them if we could use theirs as my little daughter really needed to go. Coffee was good. I think Im going to keep going to the one in Menlo Park at least until they hire someone to keep an eye on the restrooms regularly.
Amazing pastries, coffee, and employees! I come here and am often offered to sample a new snack or drink. Love this place.
Pretty alright first visit. I came in around 12 today and expected them to be sold out of the fancy pastries but i figured Id give it a shot.Luckily there were still some items in the display so I grabbed a chocolate choux which was tasty but not very special. The vanilla bean (i think!) pastry cream was pretty good and the chocolate filling inside was not too sweet. I liked that. Im a dark chocolate gal at heart. The choux pastry itself was dry.I also grabbed a vanilla latte & a chai latte. The vanilla one didnt taste much of vanilla. All I could taste was the espresso. Cute art though. The chai tasted watered down and fir some reason the cup wasnt full? I was given a cup with a good portion not filled but hey, maybe thats how the French serve their drinks?Wasnt interesting enough even if there were more pastries. Really good service though!
Favorite coffee shop in Palo Alto, great staff and of course amazing pastries, keep up the great work and thank you! ❤️
Nice vibe. Could use a wider selection of pastries, but given the size and traffic, maybe their selection is just right.
Very good croissant and pastry. Good service. Good latte. 😊
Amazing croissants, one of the best in the bay area.
Great neighborhood spot.
Great croissant + lattes. Coffee not bitter and they have oat milk.
Quiet, just off main street, comfortable chairs. Excellent coffee.
Great espresso drinks and pastries
They have the best Pan Au Chocolat in the Bay Area.
Good coffee and nice people working there
The best almond croasaint, great place to have q coffee, espresso or capuchino!
Oh just too easy to eat everything. Ultra rich croissants awesome.
The PA location is so cozy and quiet. The pastries and bread are so delicious. I had one of their new sandwiches (salmon, aragula), the bread was so crusty and the whole sandwich so tasty. For desert, my favorite is their new Exotic Jivara pastry but pretty much everything Ive tried from Mademoiselle Colette is a solid five stars. I highly recommend this pastry shop!
Best Americanos around. Very clean and quiet environment unless it’s busy. Great staff.
Love the decor and location. I think this will be my favorite coffee shop in the area from now on. Prices a bit expensive, but that is understandable in the bay area.
Their kouglof will take you to within an inch of a diabetic coma, but its worth it. The coffee is also very good. The lady behind the counter spoke with a convincing French accent and said Bonjour and Merci. No need to go to Paris anymore.
So so good! Even the very simple pastries are to die for!
