Fantastic food and lovely service. Ravioli starter was delicious. Chateaubriand was fantastic followed by a wonderful desert
We have just arrived home from a perfect weekend at The Feathered Nest. If you think it looks wonderful on the website then just you wait, the rooms and the view are even better in person. The rooms are immaculately clean and come with large fluffy robes and the nicest smelling products including full sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Coffee, tea and water are also supplied. From the warm greeting to the cheery goodbye, the staff could not be more helpful. We were particularly grateful for Sues local knowledge and tips.We ate in the restaurant on both nights where they offer a delicious selection of seasonal dishes and sampled the cocktails and extensive wine list during the afternoon while we enjoyed the beautiful countryside views(patio heaters and the availability of blankets make this possible all year round) Breakfast was also delicious and we were thrilled to be brought a cafetiere full of coffee not just a small cup.Thank you to Adam and the team, we cant wait to come back.
Popped in for a couple of drinks after a long absence and liked it so much have booked for dinner soon too. Good drinks, great views, impressed with the improvements to the outside seating area. Planning a few more visits!
We came for our evening meal. The food can only be described as exceptional. Lovely attentive staff. Beautiful venue. A little pricey but when you taste the food you do not feel cheated. Definitely one to return to.
I took my wife here for her birthday last week, and we loved it. The scenery is just gorgeous. You overlook nature whilst enjoying your drinks and food. If you visit in the evening, make sure you take a jacket or blanket/ shawl as its starting to get a little chilli again. Id love to visit again soon for another date!
First visit for family birthday. Although a little out in the countryside, well worth the visit for the wonderful views. Attentive but discete service. You could not ask for better and well presented food. Each dish was a surprising delight. Although slightly expensive it is still good value for the quality of the culinery expertise. Unfortunately the weather was against us, but we intend to return and enjoy the magnificent terrace and outside dining on a fine day.
Could not recommend this place more. Went for a mid-week break and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff just couldnt do enough for us and seemed to know what we needed before we did, the food was outstanding - delicious without the air of stuffiness that sometimes comes with fine dining, perfect breakfast, we had a beautifully light & comfortable room and the soaps and smellies were heavenly! Lovely touches such as a coffee machine in the room and a wonderful heavy dressing gown were ace too. Did NOT want to leave! Thank you for the local knowledge on the walk we went on too. We will be back without a doubt.
Beautiful views and outdoor area I enjoyed my food my husnsmd want so keen on his . I went for my 50th birthday lunch but didnt get to enjoy the view and the atmosphere was cold
Amazing views across the property. Great cocktails and a lovely menu. Sadly, could not try the food as they were full. I have been here before and the service is absolutely super.
Absolutely incredible! The most stunning setting for a summer evening with the most perfect food! Cannot rate highly enough!
Be prepared to wrap up warm! On day it was warm enough to wear just a summer dress all diners were forced to sit under the shade of a canopy with blankets offered for warmth. It was so frustrating to look out at the empty lawn right in front of us bathed in sunshine and so much of the chatter around us echoed the same point.Food was good though (let down by the desserts) but service left a lot to be desired. We weren’t made to feel welcome and when I commented on the dessert no apology was made.
Upmarket establishment with lovely views. Only stayed for a drink while out walking but cant fault the place.
Fantastic food and service with a very special view on the terrace we had the Sunday lunch menu, and whilst took a while to arrive, it was perfect pork & chicken roast with potatoes. Not cheap but worth the money
Honestly quite surprised by the positive reviews.Service was extremely slow. 20 minutes at least (maybe more) to take our orders. Equally long for the food to come. Then equally long for them to bring our bill.If the food was stellar then OK we can stomach the slow service but food was honestly pretty average. The only dish we can compliment is the beer bread which was really good. Otherwise, quite middle of the road food. Not terrible but not great.
Fantastic restaurant hidden away in the Cotswolds. The food is stunning with excellent service and a lovely ambiance.
Quality in everything from my personal experience. The terrace views are the best.
Excellent meal and great bar staff. Not cheap but worth it for a great experience.
A 1st wedding anniversary plus 30th birthday celebration for seven people (amusingly combined by the restaurant into a 30th wedding anniversary)It was a mid afternoon Sunday booking for a first visit.Great menu inc. Childrens menu. Complimentary amuse bouche.Could not fault the food...wonderful roast beef/pork/chicken full marks to the chef/kitchen. Though extortionate charge of £5 for a slice of sourdough (cut in two) with butter/flavoured spread!!However, let down by front of house where noone seemed to be in charge. We had to ask to order drinks, plates werent cleared before the main course appeared which was a very long time coming. Two staff were excellent but the overall service/attitude was sadly lacking. It would be interesting to see how they cope if they were fully booked?!As regulars of 3/2/1 star establishments our experience was tainted by the long waits and lack of attention to detail.
Great service and fab view on a beautiful evening. Food was good but needs upgrade to be exceptional!
Booked for lunch, I was told via email that they have a lovely vegetarian menu that wasnt online for myself and my boyfriend. Upon arrival we were given an unpriced vegan menu, where we had to select the only main course option. Food was nice but incredibly overpriced - £26 for a vegan main! This was matched by poor service, we waited over 1 hour for our first course - would not recommend.
Beautiful outdoor seating area with stunning views across the North Cotswold hills. Grt service, pleasant staff, food good. Worth a visit just for the view.
Amazing location, food was maybe a little overpriced but still tasted good.
Had a great afternoon here, with stunning views of the Cotswolds. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and attentive.
We visited this place last weekend, its a lovely location, but the staff is completly unprofessional, weve been treated like an air, there was a waitress outside cleaning tables- ignoring us, there was also a waiter 2m from our table cleaning after someone 50th birthday, also didnt bother to look in our direction. I had to find a bar to buy and bring myself drinks and snacks- barman offered help- nice of him,but the rest of the waiting staff utterly useless. We decide to spend money for a meal somwhere else, I wouldnt recommend this place
Grumpy staff, think theyre well above themselves
An easy five stars. Amazing food, lovely view and service was great.
Recently had a fantastic stay here! My husband and I spent a night and had the most relaxing, comfortable experience. All the staff were welcoming and smiling. The room had lovely touches, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom luxurious! We enjoyed a gourmet dinner - the cocktails were perfect, and as foodies we were on cloud 9 - the menu was inventive, and our meals were cooked to perfection! The view out front and the relaxing garden was the cherry on top. Definitely recommend if youre touring the Cotswolds!
Amazing views, beautiful location and the food is amazing, friendly staff.
Beautiful place, excellent food and service. Thank you
Friendly staff, fantastic food, awesome environment with great views to match.
Food was of high quality, although menu rather limited, so check in advance whats available. Make sure youre specific what you want in terms of seating when booking ahead. Asked for a table in the garden, was told garden service not available as its too windy outside. Nice enough table inside, so fair enough. Within 5 minutes people were being seated for food outside, including one at the table we would have chosen ourselves. Just took the edge off the experience as wed brought our guests to enjoy the view from the garden. We were offered to move, but by then the table wed have liked was gone.
The most incredible food we have had for a very long time! The quality And the attention to detail was fantastic. We were here on holiday with the dog, we are just sad didn’t find it sooner! Beautiful setting, the staff were lovely and the service was outstanding. We could not recommend highly enough.
Simply amazing food! One of the best restaurants we visited during our time in the Cotswolds. Every dish was cooked perfectly, despite a bit of a wait between courses the food was definitely worth the wait. The beer bread with marmite and beef dripping butter is a must try, especially like me if you dont like marmite, this combination will work for you. The halibut with KFC style crab and the lamb chop dishes are also a must try, the quality of the produce and the cooking speak for itself. The waiters and staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. The only slight snag being the waiting time and getting some attention from the waiters at times, which I normally wouldnt have minded, but being a pretty cold evening and dining outdoors it was not as bearable. They do have some outdoor heaters, but depending on where youre sitting you may not feel the heat.
Beautiful grounds with a view nested in the village, quality food and good cocktails
Visited for our parents Ruby wedding anniversary and received incredibly slow service.Food was fine however after waiting 10 minutes to be seated and then a further 1hr 15 for our starters and then being offered dessert at 9.50pm (bearing in mind 10pm curfew was in force) it took any magic away from the special occasion.
Maddie was fantastic. Would visit again
Lovely weather, beautiful views and great food!
I honestly think its the best pub in Cotswold. Great selection of drinks and beers, fantastic food in a fair price (£15-30/person for mains), good atmosphere and service and... THE BEST garden and view you can get in Cotswold.
Very nice pub with outstanding food
Very very nice!
Excellent food and service.
Excellent venue, great food and service
I understand that Covid puts its stain on places.... but standing at the door for over 10 minutes and staff just walking past... only to eventually be told that if we do not have a booking we cant get a table is disgusting. No apology the bartender just carried on with the next customer.
Lovely country pub close to home, with a restaurant for fine dining. Attentive, welcoming but discreet staff. From pre-dinner drinks by the fire to after-dinner night-cap, the service was excellent. Starters were good, and the desserts were wonderful. Many thanks Adam and your team for a great evening. We hope to see you soon.
What a great place in a quaint little village. Views from the terrace/garden over the surrounding hills are just stunning! We had lunch and really enjoyed it. Service was good and friendly.I had tacos for starter - nice, but a bit blunt to my taste, needed just a bit more seasoning or a hint of chilli/chipotle. But.. my main was pork and it was absolutely amazing, probably the best pork dish I have ever had! So tender, juicy and packed full of flavour. I would come back just to have that pork again.Plenty of parking spaces, well kept garden, nice decor.. Great, GREAT place.. cannot recommend it enough! We will definitely be back.
Wonderful, the food was amazing as always. Staff very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is set in beautiful grounds with amazing views across the valley.
Beautiful setting, delicious food and friendly service. The food really was lovely. Well worth a visit!
Amazing place - the views over the countryside are idyllic. The food, drink and service was great especially considering the C-19 restriction. Would highly recommend to all.
I went out for a Saturday drive and came across this pub and the view and location are spot on. We had some drinks on the lawn and stayed for a couple hours max
Dog Friendly. Great Service. Great Food!
A lovely place to sit and enjoy the view. Beautiful vista out into the countryside. Sadly the drinks are unimaginative...no sign of local Kraft ale or cider. Ciders on tap are flat and run of the mill. Service okay, but lacking that warm welcome.
Great pub and garden view
Absolutely no question this was a fabulous meal
The Feathered Nest has been a favourite of mine for many years. Have this evening been for a fabulous meal as my Birthday celebration. The food was a feast for the eyes and tasted superb. The staff are amazing, knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring the whole evening was perfect. Highly recommended for those that enjoy wonderful food.
Wonderful food and setting
Lovely afternoon.... food was amazing.Staff very attend and friendly....After years of lunches and dinners in The Feathered Nest Country InnThe standard is still fantastic!!
A great venue with fantastic ambience and very knowledgeable and attentive staff. The menu provided a very interesting selection of dishes and from my own and the opinion of my fellow diners all cooked to perfection. A hidden gem that is well worth a visit.
Great food. Lovely outlook, the garden is spectacular! Staff were all really friendly.
Beautiful setting, good food, the Pork was excellent, wine selection good too. Some confusion with Covid-19 operating rules, we were told we needed to open and poor our own wine but didnt get a bottle opener straight away.
Very covid safe. Lovely pub, great garden with fantastic views.
A warm greeting from the first step through the door. The food is simply amazing and the staff could not do more to make you feel at home. A must to drop by and experience for yourself!
Wonderful creative dishes. Especially enjoyed the carrot dish
Great cocktails
What a great find! Tasteful and cozy countryside pub with an excellent restaurant and large warm fire place. The food and service were exceptional. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and for looking after us.
Fabulous place - a random find whilst searching for cosy country pubs. Loved the feel of the place, very nicely furnished and comfortable. The food was delicious and the service fantastic! Will definitely go back again, loved it!
Great food, fine dining standard. Lovely, quiet rooms if youre staying over. Friendly, helpful staff. Recommended!
Great service, delicious food and a stunning setting. 5 stars well deserved.
Excellent service, not rushed when ordering but roast potatoes too crispy
Didnt manage to pay his staff though the covid crisis but is somehow managing to open his doors again at the earliest possible chance...
Fantastic hotel with stunning views. Yes the price of the menu isnt cheap but reflected in the excellent quality of the food and amazing service we received. Food compared to that of some top London restaurants! Couldnt fault it at all and worth every penny! Made to feel very special for our wedding anniversary. Cant wait to return again.
Fantastic food very nice staff plenty of choice on the menu top marks
Everything is pretty much perfect. All the staff, the food, the view, the extensive wine list. The rooms are lovely too. One of our favourite places to be.
Amazing views. Staff friendly and very good food.
Superb. The food was exquisite and service bang on. Always there when needed but never intrusive. Felt very welcome. Wine selection was broad and interesting.
Food was very good, but portion size was equivalent to what I would expect in an 8 course tasting menu. Not a la carte. My starter of Roasted Carrots with Ewes Curd, Curried Aubergine, Pumpkin Seed Granola, & Coriander contained less than one carrot and barely visible ewes curd for £13. Friends who got the roast beef (just under £30) had more white space on their plates than food- two small slivers of beef and not much else to speak of apart from a small yorkshire pudding.Service was also poor but hopefully this is just due to renavigating the restaurant in post-covid conditions.
The food was delicious and there are great views from the windows while you dine.
Fantastic food in a great setting with excellent service. We order 4 dishes from the Nest menu and it did not disappoint. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. No wonder that the chef had recently won the Craft Guild’s National Chef of the Year 2019. They also had a large wine selection and were very knowledgable and helpful in advising us of which wine to choose according to our tastes. A visit is highly recommended!
The Feathered Nest exceeded our expectations in both the level of service and quality of food. Very high standards without being pretentious, in a beautifully decorated homely welcoming building. Simply great
Lovely mealPleasant attentive staff
Very high quality food, and attentive staff. A pleasant ambience. A menu with a focus on meat. Happy to accommodate gluten free needs. For these prices everything needs to be great, and we werent disappointed.
We were a party of 6 - celebrating my sisters birthday. The menu is fairly simple - a choice of 5 starters, 5 mains and 5 desserts - choose three for $55. I had a starter (Terrine) and 2 mains (Fallow Venison and Gnocchi) they were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their food too.I took red wine (corkage reasonable) asked Maitre D to recommend a white - which he did...a really nice and very reasonably priced South African chard. The restaurant decor has a nicely done country theme. The grounds in which the restaurant stands offer really nice views across the Cotswolds. If you are looking for a restaurant that presents outstanding food in an equally outstanding setting, The Feathered Nest is the restaurant for you.
Great views !
Excellent. We spent last night at The Feathered Nest as an anniversary treat. The service was faultless, the staff all extremely professional, yet friendly and relaxed. A perfect combination. The food is of a very high standard. Imaginative, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The wine list is extensive. Certainly worth a Michelin star. Our room was comfortable, stylish and offered everything we could need. The inn is set in a quiet, unspoilt village, and has its own extensive grounds. Everything is spotless and well cared for.We shall definitely be making a return visit.
Outstanding on every level. Service, food, wine and individually second to none. Can not understand how it doesnt have a Michelin star. Highly recommended.
The food is incredibly good (I had the deer carpaccio and the brill). And the restaurant and view are beautiful. However, this is the most expensive restaurant I have encountered in my 57 years. But, if you have the funds, this restaurant is highly recommended. I doubt you will find better food anywhere.
A lovely quaint pub with simply outstanding food. Menu is a 4, 5 or 6 course selection, we all went for the 4 courses (which must include one desert) and were left totally satisfied. The dishes themselves were exquisite. Would go back without hesitating!
Beautiful location, superb food and service. Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were celebrating a special anniversary and this was a perfect place to stay.
Lovely cosy country pub and restaurant, with wide rolling views perfect for a drink before dinner time. The service was extremely friendly and thoughtful. Time was spent explaining the menu and the dishes, which in my opinion is quite unique, and exciting. There are 15 choices, of which you can select 4, or 5, or 6, depending on your appetite (and price point). It was made clear that it is NOT a tasting menu, and it is not a list of full plates, but rather a hybrid. So the portions are larger than a tasting menu, but smaller than a full plate (and not filled out with plate fillers like chips or carbs). The first several on the list are dishes that you might find in the appetizer section on standard menus; the next few are what could be considered mains, and the last few, desserts; but you can choose any combination of dishes. Really great if youre in a particular mood. As I was feeling particularly savoury I ended up choosing 1 starter type, and 3 mains (foregoing dessert as a plate, though my partner chose one which was delicious). The flavours are exquisite and the combinations of ingredients are at times comforting and at others exciting. We went for service at 7pm on a Thursday and found the place just about filling up - in other words, comfortable and not extremely busy. Id certainly recommend this place in light of the more standard and full restaurants in the area, as it stands apart with its delightful food and unique offering.
Beautiful setting, decor, design and atmosphere. Food was exceptional, clear why the national chef of the year award was recently won and very well deserved it is! All topped off with fantastic service. Highly recommended.
Superb food, lovely views, excellent and welcoming service. Not inexpensive but still highly recommend.
One of the finest dining experiences we have ever had. We were made to feel special from beginning to end. Amazing menu, wonderful food
