Ive been coming here for about twenty years. Low-frill place, but, hey...its a gun store. I have taken classes and purchased/sold firearms, bought equipment and used the range. Prices are very reasonable. Staff friendly, candid and knowledgeable. The RSOs are efficient and firm, as they should be. My only complaint is that I wish they would rent lanes by the hour at a lower rate rather than by the day.

Ron was extremely helpful and very patient with me, he took his time and explained clearly what a gun trust was. Not once did he get annoyed towards my ignorance. Thank You, for making firearm ownership that much more enjoyable.

Man, I had it “going on” until I decided it was time to take a head shot on Mr. Vitals, like they do on TV😂. But on the plus side, if he had been wearing a hat, I would have at least knocked it off😳The Bullet Trap is an easy experience even for first timers. The staff is super helpful and willing to answer any questions and offer advice that can help you improve quickly and shoot more safely. Great for guys or girls. You’ll feel right at home here quickly. Give them a try. Pro tip- The #20 target (you can choose your targets) is the concealed carry one you will test with.

Place could use in update however the ranges are nice, fairly priced and the staff was very very helpful sadly I didnt get any of their names however theyre cool either way and very attentive to their costumers.

I was refused service for having a medical condition that precludes me from wearing a mask. This is in direct violation of ADA laws, as well as Governor Abbotts mask mandate, which clearly states you are exempt if you have a medical condition.I entered the facility to buy my husband a gun for Christmas. A friend had sent me a photo a few days prior, so it would have been an easy transaction, but instead they lost a customer forever, and Ill be letting all of my gun-loving Patriot friends about my experience.This business will go on our list of businesses to never patron even once the masks are over with.I was able to go to a gun store in Frisco and spend all my money there instead.

They’re fine if they’re taking your money, but as soon as you need follow up, or actual customer service with something, forget it.Complete lack of any customer service skills, utterly wretched. I’ve gotten better customer service at pawn shops, which is pretty sad.As soon I finish the current transaction I’m stuck in with them they won’t be getting another dollar from me. There are better gun ranges in town and better gun shops with FAR better customer service. Which actually isn’t saying a whole lot because the Bullet Trap is setting the bar VERY low.

Ranges way too small. Stack people on top of each other like sardines. Dangerous.. lanes not dedicated with barely small dividers. No air super hot.

They are refusing to pay me for a consignment piece that sold a month ago!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!

In the north Dallas metro area, Bullet Trap is the best indoor range. Professional staff and reasonable range fees. Have also purchased firearms here without issues. They have new and used for sale. There are also rentals. They do need to put a little money into routine maintenance of the range and improve the indoor lighting. Would also be nice if they had lanes where patrons could draw from a holster but most indoor ranges lack that feature.

Great for new shooters, the staff is full of smart, experienced shooters that have excellent knowledge to share and good reccomendations to make.Seasoned shooters probably wont enjoy this place so much since the shooting facitlity itself is very barebones and lacks options.Also they dont have very many rifle lanes and they are usually taken so if you dont come at the right time you probably wont be able to shoot the AR if you dont own one.Shooting fees are a little expensive but not out of the ordinary and ammo is priced fairly.Overall a nice little gun range but after going a few times and expanding my collection Ive outgrown it and want more options at a larger range.

Gotta Love Bullet Trap! The instructors are very patient and they make the classes interesting and fun. We learned a lot from the Intro to Handguns and CHL courses. Being able to shoot several different makes and models of handguns was definitely a thrill. Going back soon to take the shooting test of the CHL course.

This place is phenomenal. The knowledge and customer service is beyond that of other places Ive been. They made my AR...top notch and was super patient and pulled parts from everywhere to assist. This is definitely the place to go and as a woman I felt super comfortable!!! Thank you guys for everything and the bonus!!!

Good indoor range. Gets hot in the summer though, not enough air conditioning. Fairly good inventory of new guns, good inventory of used guns, lots of rental guns... Shot here again today and it was 95* outside. The store area is nice an cool, the temp in the range area was 95*, now I remember why I dont shoot here in the summer!

I recently had them do an FFL transfer for me and was very pleased with the service I received. They are very helpful and professional. They make the process very easy, even if you have never done it before. I would recommend them highly and will use them again in the future.

Never went. Never going to go. Going to bad mouth them to other gun enthusiasts. Was looking to try out a different range tomorrow, but read they kicked a customer out for no mask. Try this.... Put your mask on. Take both hands and cup around your nose and mouth to seal the edges. Now breath in and out. If you can breath thru the center of your mask, your mask is not working. Welcome to reality. Weird hardly anyone died from flu this year. Anyhow, say no to mask nazis. Theyre stupid.

A few years ago when I was 18 I brought a .22 rifle to get my red dot sited. I had taken the wooden frame off and put an arch angel kit theyvsold at academy on my rifle. they said they would get it done and to come back later. when I came back one of them told me they took my gun apart to get to the serial number and couldnt figure out how to put it back together...so they gave me a ziplock bag full of all my gun parts. So in my opinion they are NOT experienced due to the fact that an 18 year old can figure it out for the fire arms experts couldnt. they referred me to a man that I had to pay out of my own pocket to rebuild my gun and then pay again to get it sighted.

First Id like to say that I was feeling a little hesitant about taking the class because I wasnt sure if the instructor would have patience with me, or try to rush me through the hands on part. Well it turned out to be totally the opposite. The instructor (Walter) and his handsome helper, were very thorough in going through the class material and very patient with everyone during the hands on, shooting part. The class was pretty full but we were never rushed through any part of the course. I went in feeling a little apprehensive but came out feeling more knowledgeable and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this class for anyone interested in owning a gun or just wanting to learn the proper handling/shooting of a gun.

Very knowledgeable staff. I did my license to carry class here a few years ago. Everyone is friendly and takes safety seriously. I do have to say though the range really really needs an update. The target holders/carriages are in rough shape, binding up regularly. Lighting is poor. A/C unit went out, but I think they fixed it.Im appreciative of the staff there but I wont be going back to the range till they put money into it.

We had a membership to Bullet Trap for four years, then we moved away from the area.Nice little shop. OK firearm and ammo selection. most lanes are for handguns with two for rifles. Membership fees about average with everyone else. Lane fees a tad high though.Staff is amiable, if not friendly. Its a range. You get what you pay for.

Excellent place to buy and shoot.

I like this place. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, there was plenty to rent and purchase, and there were open lanes on a Saturday....at first, then it got crowded after noon. Did a little point shooting, and was pleased with the results. I was able to rent a pistol Im looking to buy, which was a big plus. The range is a little dated, but works fine. Got a membership.

Went on 6/26 with a group of 11 for my brothers wedding and unfortunately I forget the names of the men who took care of us but they were great! Super patient and helpful and didn’t mind to take care of such a large group of people. We had a blast and would definitely recommend going here. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Thanks for everything guys! My brother loved his bachelor party and had a great time shooting!

We have to be thankful that in the middle of the city we all have been provided a safe family oriented business with respectful but stern workers. If somebody doesn’t like it then I suggest instead of putting hard working businesses down by this unnecessary negative comments to spend that time driving to out of the city and do their practice. We are happy and thankful that at least this business stood up for all of us. Bullet trap thank you.

What an amazing place for women to go shoot! On Wednesdays they have a $5 entry fee for ladies night. My friend and I went to try out some guns. The guys were nice, respectful and helpful. We rented three and then shopped around for a bit. We will be back!

Like the other low-rated reviews say, its like a sauna in there in the summer. Also, the staff werent very nice to me and another nonwhite patron. There seems to be a pattern of behavior here.

I thought about going up to Six Flags over Handgun in Frisco, but just not my sort of thing. Bullet Trap is much more my style. The class is 30 people instead of 90. Im not sure how much you really interact with the teacher in an auditorium full of a zillion strangers. This class was great. There were some other schools up in McKinney, but their schedules never matched up with mine. This school is awesome because they do it every Saturday. What ever week worked for me, they had a class. There was a separate part that I dont think was part of the class where the guy from Frisco tells you about some prepaid legal service. He seriously needs to take a chill pill. Turn it down a bit, dude. If thats the way that gun club is (and he is the operations manager, so Im sure it is) then I will never go there. This class was great and there is about a 100% chance youre going to learn something and if you dont pass the test then you are the village idiot.

Nice clean range. Reasonable prices. Good customer service. Nice gun store and good gun services (got a scope sighted here). Losing a star because the rifle lane is not good at all(long waits and bad equipment.

Great shooting range. I was just beginning and they were very helpful and polite. They have a good selection of different types of guns to shoot with. They are very professional, which put me at ease.

The main reason why I’m giving it 4 stars is because the place is well loved and a little worn out. The staff is polite, knowledgeable, and very quick to assist when customers need help, and the equipment works well most of the time, with only a few minor issues happening during my 20ish trips in the past year. Things are a little outdated but they have been slowly improving everything as time goes on. The location is convenient and a quick way to get some trigger time without having to leave city limits.

Visited Bullet Trap for the first time a few weeks ago. Brian was very helpful and worked with me on my shooting technique. I had issues with a gun that I had bought from another store and once repaired I traded it in at Bullet Trap. I test fired other guns at Bullet Trap and they helped me immensely with selecting a new gun. Leo spent a lot of time with me. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Ultimately I bought a gun from Bullet Trap. After I purchased the gun Leo showed me how to take it down and clean it. Great experience!

Long time customer...recently used Bullet Trap for a long gun transfer and all went as anticipated. Brian and Cody were extremely helpful and timely. The service was so good that I am considering renewing my membership.Thanks again guys yall were fun and knowledgeable.

I think its a great place to shoot when the weather is nice, like during the summer time. I went on yesterday and it had to be 30 degrees are lower inside the gun range. You could see your breath when breathing. If I wanted to go to an outside gun range I would have gone to one. Very disappointed.

We came in for a bachelor party and Brian was incredibly helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the great selection of guns to choose from, and even got the groom to shoot the MP-5. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and know you will too!

First visit why my son and husband, we were very pleased with this range. The price was fair and and the employees were very helpful and friendly! It was really hot so that was the only thing I wasnt happy with but we will be back once fall comes! We spent 3 hours and bought a 9mm box with a few targets and spent 41$! Super affordable!

Place is my regular range, it can get hot on the range but they keep a giant mobile ac unit in the lobby I go stand in front of it when I get too hot. Peter taught the ltc course and it was awesome and he did a great job keeping it interesting and answering questions. Staff is friendly and helpful and even took it above and beyond when they worked with my wife to find a good pistol she likes to fire using their test fire guns.

Went here on 8/29 and if you like shooting while inside a sauna, this is your place. Bring duct tape too for the panels and the tables. Trust me you’ll need it.

I enjoy going here. Is it perfect? No, but the staff is great. If you have any issues, the staff & management will do their best to help.Once upgrades are completed & A/C is put in the bays, they will get 5 stars from me.

I went to shoot today and planned to spend some time but the range is not air conditioned and has very little, if any, ventilation. After 10 min. I could not stand the heat anymore. Paid my bill which was more than several other indoor ranges in the area charge that are much more updated and have a/c. Might be ok to shoot in winter but very uncomfortable without a/c in warmer months.

Definitely more geared towards just rentals. Didn’t shoot here but they didn’t have a decent stock of pretty much anything.

The people are so fun and helpful, but the facility itself needs SO much improvement. I bought a Glock off of consignment there...went in knowing NOTHING...came out knowing how to disassemble a gun. Ask for Ron if you go in. He is the store manager and one of the best people I have ever met!

Went here for an Intro to shooting course. It was a lot of fun, very formative, and practical. Our instructor Peter was great in teaching the class and kept me engaged. Being able to shoot over 21 guns was awesome and helped me to decide what kind of gun I might purchase in the future. I definitely recommend!

They were not nice with my friend and me when we visited. I didnt feel that I was welcomed and I felt like they didnt want me there. They need to change the way they serve people and make people feel welcomed. And they didnt let my friend to take pictures as well. We took one picture and they came and stopped us in a rude way.

These guys are awesome, I wont go anywhere else. They are always so willing and go out of their way to help. Kudos especially to Ed for helping me out with my rifle.

Range is severely outdated, hardly Any ventilation, no heat, cramped and asked to see owner but he’s never there. Employees themselves are amazing, but it very much needs to be updated or sold to someone that will actually take the time to renovate the place.

We just took the intro to Handguns class and it was a blast (no pun intended). Marcos was our primary instructor and Chuck helped out once we got on to the shooting range. Marcos has a very conversational presentation style that invites students to participate, and he injects humor in the right places to keep it entertaining. He also instills, and reinforces, the safety rules so the class is well controlled.This class is for those whom have never shot a handgun, or those with some experience. Once you complete the classroom it’s off to the gun range where you get to shoot 16 different handguns in 4 different calibers. This was a terrific format to get a feel for all of the varieties of handguns and how each form and caliber perform. This was well controlled as Marcos and Chuck were there to help and encourage each student. I would and have recommended this class to friends. Thank You to Marcos and Chuck for a fun and safe evening.

Im not sure who the previous people dealt with but this place is great! I walked in to a gun store for the very first time in my life and I have never met such helpful staff. I did the $30 special for Range Fee, Gun Rental and 20 shots for everything you need.I worked with a man named Mark who explained to me everything about the guns, recommended me one, and then taught me the proper way to hold it and shoot it. He was very thorough and answered all my questions.Highly recommend this place! Great prices and awesome staff who are very willing to help newbies like myself. Very patient yet seemed to know what they were talking about.Will definitely be coming back!

Very rude and unorganized Place. And I felt racially profiled they were rude to me when I went behind a counter to see pricing because ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THEM & They spoketo me with no respect like it was my fault they didnt have a worker close by for assistance. We had a great experience. Brought our kids for Friday evening family night and we all loved it. Good price and fun atmosphere. Friendly staff. Equipment isnt top of the line but we had nour wait and werent pressured by the range monitors like some of the larger shops.

A large selection of handguns and a few rifles. I took a safety course here and enjoyed it. The lanes do really need to be upgraded and it can get oppressively hot in the lanes as well. More rifle lanes would also be a plus! Overall enjoy this location and come here often.

Ive been going here for well over 5 years off and on mostly because its conveniently located. Compared to previous years the staff safety awareness has gone from good to non-existent these last couple times Ive been this year. I would highly recommend the staff monitor the activity on the range closer. Ive observed and had to correct more than one major safety violation/issue each time Ive been. now to the point i dont feel comfortable being there. the last two times Ive been here I had someone in the stall next to me point a loaded gun at me and It wasnt just a quick mistake either, it was proceeded by ongoing lack of not following the range rules which seem to no longer be enforced. I immediately addressed the issue with the guy next to me who then proceeded to leave the range and go to the counter with his loaded and jammed handgun, had to stop that too. Meanwhile most the staff were standing behind the counter doing nothing and not monitoring the range. I may give it one more try but not worth risking my safety for convenience.Tighten up on the safety and range monitoring.Update: it was a little better on my retry visit however there was only 4 shooters there and we had an entire side to ourselves.

Went to the Bullet Trap for the first time today and I was very impressed. Sales staff was very friendly and let me look at many different guns. Im completely new to the gun world and the staff was more then helpful in recommending specific models that they thought would be best for me. I plan on purchasing a gun in the near future and will definitely be doing business with them.

Took my wife here for her first time shooting a weapon. The employees working there were very friendly as well as helpful. They gave my wife instructions on how to prepare and the overall atmosphere was friendly. Pricing wasnt too bad either, definitely will pay for a membership soon.

Even though they did not have what I needed they were very friendly and gave me a lot of tips on regulations with firearms.

Had an awesome experience here. The prices for the range were very good. The range was nice not to crowded just a normal indoor range, but what really made this a great range/shop were the employees they were fantastic; after all it is the employees that really make a business great. They created a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. I also purchased a 7.62x39 Saiga from them as well they answered all my question and were more then accommodating. Also, a big bonus there was no BS if they didnt know an answer they didnt just tell me what I wanted to here. I will defiantly make this my go to range from now on, and Im definitely excited to go back.

Like some reviewers have said, I am not sure where all the negative reviews come from. Been going there for over a year, and it is one of my favorite places to shoot and get supplies.The people behind the counters are helpful. They usually have about a dozen or more personnel during weekends, so they usually handle the traffic pretty well.Prices on some of the guns are pretty good. Staff will usually tell you which ones are great deals.Dont go there as much now since I moved, but I still stop by every month or two. IMO - one of the best indoor ranges in the metroplex.

Really enjoyed my last three visits to this range. The staff has always been really helpful and friendly. Given really good advice on renting guns. The range is really spacious and you dont feel like you are crowded. I wish it was closer to Garland so I could go there more often.

Very nice Staff! The range is a bit run down. Poorly lit and kind of cold and breezy. Casings from the neighboring stall often flying over to my stall. Its not my first choice in gun ranges but, I will shoot there again.

Great place to shop for accessories or new firearms, great, friendly staff. Is it the nicest range in town, not necessarily but its close, affordable, and I feel comfortable there. We need more places like this.

I have had nothing but great experiences here. I took an intro class back in July, 2014 and the instruction was very good. Since I now own a firearm, I needed a place to practice, and the Bullet Trap is the place to go. My experiences with the guys behind the counter, including Zack, Brodie, and Joe have been nothing short of excellent. The guys are friendly, courteous, helpful, and professional. Ive since become a member, and enjoy going here on a regular basis.

Great range, knowledgeable crew, and a fair amount of firearms for purchase. Ive been to a couple of classes here, and they have been more then helpful. This is definitely the range to visit.

In times like these where certain ammo (brass 5.56/223) is sparse or ridiculously priced, these guys seem to always have stock. While the prices are definitely still higher than desired, they are reasonable for the current demand. The staff members are helpful, but nothing to write home about. I havent been to the range yet, but I plan to eventually. Its a bummer they only have two rifle lanes, though.

They describe the place as law enforcement and fire fighter friendly. Definitely not the case. Went there last night with my family to shoot and buy a family membership. The guy at the counter, Jason, had the worst attitude I have ever experienced at any establishment. We got tired of his attitude and left with out shooting a single round. Then as we are walking out the door he continued his disrespectfull barrage. When I walked back in and asked what he said he acted busy on the computer. As a fire fighter / paramedic I would never recommend this place as long as this guy is employed there. I will tell all my associates as well as everyone I come in contact with about this experience. I own a tattoo shop in McKinney and you can bet everyone that comes in or looks at our website will know how you will be treated at Bullet Trap in Plano. I will also post a review every week until this guy is no longer employed there.

The range is a bit dark and old looking, but everything works and the prices are great, especially the targets and membership fees. A slightly annoying thing is that the controls that you use doesnt have a distance counter on them, so you have to look at the lines on the wall and guestimate the distance that you set your target. That and the fact their ventilation system is a little more powerful than most ranges so the breeze moves targets a bit. Its not the best range I have ever been to, but this place has good prices, decent service, and I get to shoot. Ill be coming back.

I went here for some range time and to take their LTC class. The staff was extremely helpful and very professional. Peter, the class instructor, was very knowledgeable and made it very easy to pay attention for the 5 hours that it took. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get their LTC license and/or buy a firearm.

You have to sit down on the rifle range because when folks stand they shoot the string that pulls your target back and forth. If that string goes down then nobody gets to shoot rifles anymore, which isnt fair to folks who want to sight in and test fire their rifles.Sitting down while sighting in your rifle provides consistency and stability while you are sighting in your rifle, as well. That is why when you BZO your rifle in the Marine Corps you typically do it from the seated or prone position.Also, when youre sitting you have less of a chance of flagging people or maybe accidentally shooting Bullet Traps equipment.I find it very convenient and practical Bullet Trap has rifle shooters operate their firearms while seated.As someone who has been to many ranges all over this great nation and as someone who has been shooting rifles for over a decade I think Bullet Traps rifle lanes are just fine.Worth noting, however, the range is only 25yds deep.That said, be sure to do your homework if you want to sight in your rifle for farther than that. Ballistics Calculators online are free and work great!

This place has always lacked in the service area but the selection now is horrible and priced way out of market averagesThe range is falling apart and its just not growing and thriving as businesses should. Instead its been treading water for a decade.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Went with a friend but they were honest and very helpful for his needs. No attempts to push profit over quality.
