I dont usually write reviews unless something exceptional happens, and todays service certainly deserves a review. One of our garage door springs broke this morning around 11:05 AM, and aware that we needed to get it fixed quickly, I looked on the internet and called Garage Door Specialist, which clearly appeared to be a 5-star operation. They set me up with a same-day appointment, and the technician, Daniel, called and asked if he could come out early. He came, diagnosed the problem, and diligently got to work, replacing both springs, lubricating the moving parts, and finishing by 12:45. Thats less than two hours from placing the call to job completion. Now I realize that Garage Door Specialists schedule may not always be able to provide that level of responsiveness, but what is clear to me is that whatever the lead time, this is a top-notch company that fully deserves its 5-star rating. If someone would have asked me what I would like to see happen when our garage door quit on us this morning, I would have said, Id like to see the whole mess off my hands two hours from now so I can get on with life. Well, that happened! Needless to say, we will not hesitate to call them again when we have a need, and we will recommend them to our neighbors and friends.

We chose Garage Door Specialist to replace our 20 year old garage door opener after it broke, which they were able to do the very next day. Sal was fantastic in explaining how the old door could be fixed and the new options we had. After choosing a new replacement Sal was both quick and clean with the new install and provided me with great detail on how to care for and use the new garage door opener. The salesman who came and provided a quote seemed very knowledgeable and helped me make a good choice. I did not get any other quotes, but the price was a little better than I was expecting, and I was happy with it. Craig and Robert handled the installation and they were very friendly and professional. The job went very well and we are pleased with our new door.

The Garage Door Specialist installed my opener about 15 years ago. It has functioned flawlessly but now needed a tuneup. From the person who answered the phone to the service technician, everyone was pleasant and accommodating. The technician even went above and beyond by caulking the new rubber seal at the bottom of the door and filling in some wood damage at no extra charge. It looks like new! I received great service at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this business.

Called Garage Door Specialists on a Monday and they had a technician out the next morning (could have been even earlier if I was free). Bob was very knowledgeable and explained things to me so that I knew the problem and how it was to be fixed. Garage door was as good as new within an hour of his arrival. My garage door wouldn’t open due to one of the springs being broken. Call a few repair company’s and was told no one could get to my house for 5 days. Called GDS they came out the next day. They replaced both springs and bearings door now work like new. Very happy with customer service and the tech that came out to my house.

I was extremely impressed with everything from my initial contact to the installation. Upon contacting another company for a second quote, I was informed I would need to paint hardware to meet my request. I met with Stephanie and selected the door style and when I asked about hardware finishes, she provided a link with multiple options. Stephanie was quick to send a mock-up of the style door I selected. As for pricing, I got a better door with exactly what I wanted for less money than the second quote. She gave me a timeline and what to expect. About two weeks out, I received a call to confirm the installation date. The day of the installation the techs showed up on time and did a fabulous job. We Had A Torsion Spring Break In Two Separate Places On A Monday Morning 9am. Called Michelle & She Apologized That Nobody Would Be Able To Come Out Until Wednesday. While I Frantically Called Around Other Places With NOT As Great Reviews, Michelle Proactively Called Me Back & Said They Had A Cancellation. Eric Was Here Promptly By 11am, Both Torsion Springs Replaced & He Showed Where The Cable On One Side Was Likely Going To Break In The Next 3-6 Months. So... I Had Him Replace The Cables. Bing-Bang-Boom... Out The (Now OPEN Garage) Door By Noon. After Testing The Door, We Both Noticed The Belt Had A Gap In It. I Was Able To Order The Belt From Liftmaster Directly. When It Arrives, Ill Be Having Eric Scheduled To Replace It. Exemplary Service From Both Eric & Michelle. Able To Keep Our Bank Appointment! Believe The Reviews... These Guys Are The Best Around!UPDATE: Eric Came Back Out To Replace Belt I Got From Liftmaster That Was Still Under Warranty. Really Wish More Service-People Were Like These Folks. Our garage door was crooked and had called another company a couple months back who charged a consult fee and told us we needed a whole new door and spring and was going to be expensive. He straightened out the door but there was a larger gap between floor and closed door.Had garage door specialists out, free consult, and only needed a new belt which was a quick and much cheaper fix. When the torsion spring broke on my door I called them late in the afternoon and they set me up for between 1:00 and 3:00 the next day. Sal actually arrived right at the beginning of that window and was finished before it was over, which is rare for any business that gives time windows like that! He gave me options for other maintenance my door could use, without a hard sell or any pressure. The job was completed quickly and the invoice was reasonable. I would definitely use them again.

Garage Door Specialist did an amazing job at my house. They were extremely professional and helpful. They called me when they were on my way (exactly when they said they would be) and were kind enough to wait when I was five minutes away. I don’t know anything about garages or what was wrong and they talked me through everything, helped fix what was wrong, and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of on prices or being up-sold on things that I didn’t need, as I have felt with other companies in the past. Their service went above and beyond and their prices were very fair. In the future if I have any issues with my garage I will not even consider calling another company. Sal came to repair my garage door. I had a broken spring. He recommended that I have the door wheels replaced as well since the old metal ones were severely worn and were screeching as the door moved. Sure enough, the wheels were worn flat. He installed an upgraded motor, trolley, wall-mounted opener, and sensors. He did all that in less than 45 minutes! Then he took the time to talk us through the entire system, including the remotes, battery backup, etc. Start to finish: only about one hour, including answering our dumb questions. This was incredibly professional work, and well certainly recommend them to our friends and neighbors. I used Garage Door Specialists to replace a dead opener last year. The technician was prompt, very professional and the service was fairly priced. I was very happy with that experience, so I called them out again today when my other opener stopped working suddenly. Eric showed up on time and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue (reset needed, no new parts thankfully). I was not even charged a callout fee! At the Cary house they did a complete door, hardware system and opener replacement (LiftMaster / WiFi enabled), at the Apex house they just replaced the rollers and did some lubrication and also provided me with a spare remote opener. Sal was right on time (giving us an advance call first) and he was courteous, helpful and professional. I can’t recall the name of the person who worked on the Cary property last summer but I can tell you he was also knowledgeable and helpful. While GDS might not be the least expensive option they’ve delivered and were worth it. Clearly, I’d call them / use them again and highly recommend them.

Eric was able to come out same day and fix our garage door in no time. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional. Will definitely be using them for any future needs!

I was having issues with the garage door opener. The tech arrived right on time, recommended replacing the opener (mine was 13 years old, so it was time), and had it installed within 35 minutes! He helped me program my car remote and the exterior key pad. He was professional, answered all my questions, and did a fabulous job!

Eric came by today. I needed a new motor unit. He installed it and lubed the door. It is very quiet now. Great service and very reasonable pricing.

Excellent service. Process was so easy and I had to do nothing except make the call. New remotes, doors, motors, tracks, etc. Really nice people and they show up when they say they will be there. Great prices. Highly recommend!

Spring on our garage door snapped on Friday night, gave them a call on Saturday at 2PM and everything was repaired perfectly by 4PM. Incredibly quick turnaround, technician showed up early after calling to verify it was okay.The woman I spoke to schedule the appointment with was very friendly, gave me an estimate that ended up being spot-on. Garage Door Specialist did an amazing job from start to finish. From when I initially called them and spoke to Michelle to set the repair, all the way through when Eric completed the installation, they were awesome. Eric was able to pin point our issue and get everything replaced insanely quick, and went way above our expectations and got both sides of our two car garage synced together perfectly! (The people that lived at our house before us had one side as a Craftsman and the other side a Liftmaster). If you’re having any sort of garage door issues, we would highly recommend them!
