This place used to be pretty great when it was operated by Extra Space Storage. It’s gone way downhill with the change in management.They’ve rented out a majority of the interior parking to third parties (Enterprise takes up almost the entirety of the parking closest to the loading door, and for some reason there seems to be a car washing service operating out of the farthest bay to the right?) to the point that on weekends, there is no actual place to park without blocking someone in or blocking a pathway. If someone else already has their box truck parked and unloading, forget about unloading yours right now.They’ve also significantly raised rental rates from what they were before, and they’re no longer competitively priced for the area.This is notwithstanding the actual transition from Extra Space that they mishandled. If you had auto pay set up before the transition, it didn’t carry over to their new management system and I didn’t receive any notification of this. This led to a situation where I was sitting with a full truck of stuff outside the door on a weekend, unable to get inside since my code had been deactivated due to “non-payment.” I had to make very hectic alternate plans and incurred significant expense to keep things loaded overnight and only got a response the next morning.The only reason I’ve kept my lease here for many months after the transition is because it’s extremely convenient since it’s practically down the street from my house. As annoying as it is to move everything between storage units to a new place, I think I’ll probably be doing that soon.

Had to load four large boxes into a fourth floor storage unit. Our boxes were two inches narrower then the elevator doors. Had it not been for Ms. Candy Distel I would have given up and gone to a different storage place. Once she showed me how easy it was I got all four crates in the space in under an hour. Her positive can-do attitude made it much less of a chore.

My experience here was great! It’s climate controlled, clean, and very convenient location. With close beltline access too. Very low traffic area around entrance so no rush if backing in truck or trailer. The manager Candy was awesome! She went above and beyond taking care of us. They also have plenty of boxes,wrap, tape at discount. It is literally a one stop shop! I would definitely recommend this place for your storage needs!

I admit to being a little peeved when my storage company changed ownership, but now that LifeStorage has been running the joint for a while, I can say things are great. The facility is kept in tip top shape. The off-hours entry system has worked flawlessly. And Candy gives the place an awesome aspect of personal service (with lots of personality!), going out of her way to make life easier for customers.

Ive used Extra Space Storage for more than six months now. Its convenient, efficient and it fits my budget. I was able to sign my contract virtually with ease and confidence, thanks to the staffs patience and guidance. The property itself was perfect for my needs. Temperature was regulated, no signs of any mold even after 6 months of inactivity and most important of all, it felt safe! Customer service was great as well! Great storage facility. Easy access and very clean. Reasonable prices compared to other storage facilities in the area. Rented two units in May and a large unit in July. Randy made the administrative part of the rental very easy to complete remotely. Would highly recommend this storage location.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!I have rented many storage units and this is company is at the bottom of my list. A disjointed corporate office mixed with terrible employees at the corporate level has led to the most stressful moving experience Ive ever had. They are more trouble than they are worth.

I had a great experience renting a storage space from Extra Space Storage at the W South St. location in Raleigh. Our plans came up rather quickly for needing storage and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. I dealt with Randy, who was super professional, friendly & helpful. He held my space until I knew exactly when I would need it and he also called me back when he said he would. I was out of town and we did the whole transaction over the phone including walking me thru the online lease agreement. Then he followed up with detailed instructions for the movers to access the unit within the building and also checked to make sure that my unique gate code actually worked before the move date. I highly recommend this storage facility.

Fast, easy reservation and check-in. The space is always clean. The prices are competitive compared to similar sized units from other companies; and I especially appreciate that EVERY SINGLE unit is climate controlled and pretty much BUG FREE! Not just the units, but the facility as well. Bonus points for being able to buy/bring your own lock and not having to purchase a $20 lock specifically from them.

I got there not a couple hours later and my code was working at all doors, my unit was cleaned unlocked and had my name on it. Customer service exactly like you want it to be. Given the current pandemic situation it was a bright spot to deal with Randy.

Simple payment/move-in process and the units are kept nicely cooled. Plenty of carts available to use.

My experience at this location was awesome! I was in between moves and needed a place to store my things for a little while. This location was excellent! The facility is really nice and secure, which was important to me, and I felt safe going at night to drop off my things. There were plenty of roller carts which made moving in a breeze! Randy was really helpful in getting me all set up to move into my unit. He was thorough in explaining the process and guidelines, and answered any questions I had. His customer service alone deserves more than five stars! I originally was only going to keep the storage short term but I liked it so much that I can see myself switching to a smaller unit and storing things there longer. Its clean and well lit, stocked with carts/dollys and the elevators are large and work well. Easy to get stuff in and out and I love the covered parking area. Would recommend.

Ive never had to rent a storage unit before, but I was very pleased. All of my concerns were satisfied.- Parking is semi-interior and gated.- Facility seems very secure and has surveillance.- Moving trolleys are provided.- Decent facility hours (6 - 10).- Not too expensive and able to upgrade/downgrade unit sizes.- Friendly staff - Randy was a pleasure to talk to.Two minor gotchas:- You need insurance for the unit (similar to renters insurance). They provide it at ~$10/mo, but you can use an external insurer.- They do not provide a lock with the unit. They will sell you a lock at ~$15 that are designed to work with the units door latch, but you can also provide your own.

New building! Clean spaces! Easy access! The push carts are brand new and THEY ALL WORK. Move in now before the units are all taken.UPDATE: Customer service is the best I’ve seen in storage, and they’re super easy to work with. Changed my rating to 5 stars because of that.

Amazing storage unit. I’m in and out of the unit multiple times per week and it is so easy to pick up what I need or drop something off quickly. There is ample covered parking and always available carts to help move stuff in and out of my unit. The building is clean and bright and the staff is helpful and super friendly. I moved from another storage space near by to this one recently and I’m kicking myself for not having done it months ago.

I initially had doubts this type of storage space was right for our needs. However, Douglas made our experience with Extra Space such a pleasure. He was not only knowledgeable about the services but he made sure we were comfortable with our decision. We really appreciate his professionalism. I will gladly recommend to anyone looking for upscale storage accommodation and service with reasonable price!
