Olsen & Fielding Moving Services was contracted to move my molecular biological laboratory from Seattle to University of California, Merced. Rose Olsen handled the move wonderfully and took care of all the nitty gritty logistical details. She also hired outstanding local crews and drivers. My move required a commodities van that had power generators (for our freezers and refrigerators full of biological samples) as well as a regular moving van. The moves went extremely well and Rose managed everything perfectly via email, text and phone communication. If you have special needs (like moving an entire lab), Olsen & Fielding can easily accommodate your move. I am certain they are equally fastidious and efficient when it comes to household moves too.
Jack, Jackie, Hunter and team were all wonderful! From the very beginning, everyone was very communicative, quick responses, and fair pricing. We had them pick up on a holiday and drop off the weekend of the Super Bowl. From start to finish, everyone was very professional, shook our hands, and took great care of our things. We moved across country and had very minimal damage done. Would certainly recommend them for any future moves!
Highly recommend this outfit. We have used them twice for moves (complete households), and also to store some of our items from a vacation home that we sold over a year ago. From their Sales dept. (our contact was Shawn), to the office/admin group (cannot speak highly enough of Jackie !), to their warehouse staff: everyone genuinely worked hard to make our experience extremely positive. They came prepared, knew what they were doing, and provided superior service that included customer focus beyond just getting our items from one city to another. In an industry where outstanding service is a hit or miss proposition, Olsen & Fielding are the real deal !
We recently moved from San Diego to Reno. We were most impressed with Olsen & Fieldings professionalism and responsiveness. This was borne by the actual move in which they showed a level of care of my antiques that I have never seen in my previous moves. They went the extra mile as we are getting older and dont move as quickly as we use to. I appreciate the patience by the hard working crews.
I recently moved from Northern California to South West Florida and had the pleasure of finding Olsen & Fielding Mayflower in Sacramento to conduct my move.Their man who conducted the original survey at my home in Lincoln California showed up on time and had good communication with me through the process. His weight estimate was almost dead on. I was assigned a move coordinator “Natalie” who answered any of my questions and also kept me informed as my furniture moved cross country.I was given a delivery window and the furniture was delivered with that window. The truck driver “Raphael” was a great guy to work with. He also kept me informed as he crossed the country. He was an excellent team leader in both California and in Florida for the crews who helped load and unload. He made sure my high value items were well cared for and delivered them in good condition. Together, we accounted for ever line item on the list so I know I received all that was loaded on the truck. My experience with Olsen & Fielding Mayflower in Sacramento with my move from California to Florida went smoothly and the people were great to work with, I therefore highly recommend them as a moving company.Sincerely, Joseph Fairchild
If I could give zero stars I would. I loved my sales guy Shawn but once we left his care the remainder of our move was nothing short of a nightmare. A number of items were not inventoried and we had them pack the high value items only to have a number of those items broken or destroyed. Our move was in March and we are still dealing with the claims process. During both our load and unload they rushed the process (I realize now that doing so saved them money) but allowing them to hurry cost us big time. They did not inventory all of the items so when some stuff came up missing theyre answer was it wasnt on the sheet. They ended up delivering over 40% of our boxes to the wrong floor on our new house despite clear labels and instruction. Because of the way they rushed the off load, we did not discover this until the next day. Our driver flat out lied. He said, oh, just sign that we delivered the stuff and if there is a problem your customer service person can work it out for you. Ha! I spent a couple of months and had multiple discussions and emails with all levels of Mayflower only to be told too bad. No offer of any kind of refund, no apology, just lies and misdirection. My strong recommendation, if you choose to use these guys is to have someone standing at the door of the truck for the entire time they are loading and confirm the number on everything that enters the truck. If they try to rush you, ignore them. Do the same coming off the truck and dont let them enter the house without an escort to ensure exactly where items are delivered. DO NOT sign anything the day they finish with the drop off. Tell them you need to inspect everything before you will sign. DO NOT sign anything regarding property damage until you can verify each and every item, including the condition of your home. They scratched our brand new hardwood floor and then covered it with boxes stacked higher than my head (Im 64). When we finally discovered the damage we were told that we had already signed that there was not property damage so we couldnt even make a claim. You will also discover that you are not hiring a single company but a series of companies all of whom blame the other for anything that happens. By the way Mayflower and United are owned by the same company and the parent company is just as bad. I would recommend avoiding at all cost.
We have used Olsen & Fielding Moving Services twice in the past five years. When you call a moving company for the second time, youre doing it because of how extremely pleased you were during the first move. I cant say enough good things about the process. Curt did a walk-through, gave us an estimate, and it was very fair and reasonable. The days of the two moves, both crews were there, on time, ready for action, They worked so fast they were done well within the time we thought it would take. No damage, no breakage, no worries. Even though we dont plan another move (at our age!) I would definitely use Olsen & Fielding again, and I have recommended them to others. In fact, now that I recall it, we originally called Olsen & Fielding because friends recommended them.
We are very satisfied with the overall professionalism and courtesy shown by all who we dealt with. From Tim and Natalie, the drivers and their helpers, even the craters were efficient and knowledgeable with what they were doing. On the delivery end they were fast and courteous. Every aspect of the move was very well done. we would not hesitate to refer them or use them again.
Completely professional, fast, and efficient. How many businesses can you call at 5:00 on Friday afternoon and get top-notch service. Recommend 110%
I used Olsen and Fielding for a cross country move. Overall I was very satisfied with them. Tim and Natalie were really great at answering all my questions and giving me prompt replies via email. The moving crew was very professional and friendly. Every aspect of the move was very well coordinated. I only had two issues: The packers forgot to pack many items, we did relay to them that this was a cross country move and everything that was not labeled needed to go. Even after we went room to room and showed them all the stuff they missed, they still missed many items in drawers and cabinets. I had to pack some pots and pans in my suitcases and pay extra baggage fees. Lastly, when the company came to inventory the house they underestimated how many boxes I would need. They only brought the amount of boxes they estimated. One of the movers said that they may charge me extra for extra boxes even though I had a binding agreement, they never did charge but having to deal with such an expensive and large move...these are not the type of things you want to have to deal with. Regardless of the minor hiccups I would still recommend them for your next move.
Our recent move went very well. The crew arrived on time at both the pick-up and the delivery. The furniture was packed carefully and there was no damage. The driver was expert at his job and seemed to take pride in doing it well. The helpers worked hard and efficiently. Base on this experience Id ask this company to move us in the future.
Olsen & Fielding recently moved us from Santa Rosa to San Diego, CA. While our experience with the employees who packed, moved and delivered our belongings was a good one overall, we ran into some resistance at first from management when we submitted a claim for repairs for a piece of furniture that was damaged during the move. However, when push came to shove, management stepped up and paid the total cost of the repair, even when we offered to split the cost with them. To us, this was a very clear example of the customer service ethic that they promote. We appreciate their integrity and would not hesitate to recommend them in the future.
The process of our cross-country move (VA to CA) was seamless from start to finish. Only a few items were worse for wear, but it was a packing issue, not a transportation one. In every occurence, they arrived on time- or early- and worked quickly. Thank you!
Horrific Experience!!-Rude customer service.-Zero follow up or help after they book you into contract.-Didnt bring parading supplies need so they wrapped $5,000 in tvs in blankets and they arrived that way after we were promised theyd be boxed carefully.-Arrived with no room in their truck for our things and laughed at my comment about it then proceeded to strap our things to the outside and underneath the truck!! (No joke!!)-Departure date is NOT the same as the pick up date! You WILL NOT receive your items within four days of pick up- read the fine print on your contract carefully!!!-Truck is a week late! Extremely rude to no customer service. No calls back and rude when we call them!! We have had to spend a WEEK in a hotel during peak season, with 2 kids, 2 large dogs and 3 other pets costing us over $2500!!! We have been told we may or may not receive $100 credit for this?!?-Truck arrived this morning, no advance notice call, but we were called and told if we were not at the location within 30 minutes theyd leave and put our things into storage which would cost us even more money!!!As if moving isnt difficult enough, then to have all his happen and to be treated horribly throughout the entire process? All I can say is look elsewhere!
Olsen & Fielding was fantastic. They made what could have been a very stressful process as pain-free as possible! Our representative checked in with us at every step of the process to ensure things were going smoothy. The crew was professional, friendly, on time, and took excellent care of our belongings. I highly recommend them.
Olsen and Fielding handled the local (delivery) stage of my international move expertly. Superior communication and coordination made for a positive experience.
Olsen/Fielding did an AWESOME job with our move from Sacramento to Oceanside. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing moving services!
Great company took a lot of the stress of moving out of it. Jackie, Sean and all involved were a pleasure to work with.
Jackie Bowman was very helpful in our move across country. We really appreciate it. Thanks.
Olsen and Fielding handled our move from Davis to San Jose. They were on time, professional and willing to go the extra mile to make our moving experience less stressful.
If you are in the military and have to deal with Dave the dispatcher, then I suggest you have the military provide you with a different company to pack your household goods. He is highly unprofessional and Dave thinks it is funny to send you an email to cancel your move if you dont return their phone calls. I gave this company my phone number and so did the TSP which coordinates moving for military members. They were constantly calling an incorrect cell phone number for me. I was told by quality assurance that I am the second individual to complain about Dave. If you read the reviews here someone else has complained about him as well. I would never want any of my airmen to be serviced by this company. I will ensure this company never packs the goods for another military member again due to lack of outright professionalism. If I could give zero stars I would. The government assigned a new company to me and their professionalism is astounding.
Had a great experience start to finish. The packers, the loaders, the drivers, everyone. Professional, timely, courteous. Couldnt ask for a better experience.
Great Service, Great Help especially from Shawn Gilbert who answered all my concerns
Ive worked with Olsen & Fielding for many years now and they are great to work with. While Ive never moved with them, I know the people and would not hesitate to recommend then to a friend for local or long distance moves.
All I can tell you is to be present when they weigh your shipment, or request a re-weigh before your belongings get to your destination before paying. Good advice when using any Moving Company.
United Van Lines at its best!
Was hired by a company driver and the dispatcher told him to under pay and my coworker, very un perfessional, never been treated like this in my whole moving carrier.....
Total garbage
Fast shipping department
Not one of the best I been to. Made me. Crew look for a box I told them I did not load to begin with. Wouldnt get my paperwork so I could show them that I even had it on my rider.
