I went in to get a more aggressive climbing shoe and was assisted by Scott. He was beyond helpful and took the extra step to find the right shoe for me. He provided great insight, was an absolute delight, and even took the time to look at my previous shoes to see if they needed resoling. I will absolutely be returning in the future, even if its just to ask questions.

Enthusiastic staff who are keen on bringing the sport to newcomers. Encouraging sales people focused on equipping appropriately. I saved over $50 on my two items compared with regular prices. My items were both new, and had not been used.

Great store, has more than your average sports store, its more specific to climbing, hiking mountaineering, canyoneering and also some whitewater equipment, skiing to drive 3.5 his to go there for what I need.

Getting your 10% member dividend at REI isnt worth not shopping at IME. Andy, Paul, Scott, and Shingo are all incredibly genuine people that really want to help you and anyone they can to perpetuate the climbing sport. They are all experienced climbers with great knowledge of local crags. I cant speak highly enough of them and IME.

I am giving 5 stars because Scott took his time to answer questions as I am just getting into climbing and I am going climbing on Sunday. He was patient and gracious with his time. He gave great recommendations and because my work schedule did not allow me to come to the store today he told me where to go. Because of all this I give 5 stars and because of this I will definitely come to this store to purchase gear.

Received a gift card from a buddy to IME. Drove down to go look around to spend it. Had no idea what I wanted. They won’t allow shoppers to look around the store. They ask that you stand in the entrance of the store and if you want them to bring you something they will bring it to you. Pretty tough way to shop when the buyer doesn’t have anything particular in mind. I am all for folks trying to operate safely during covid and I am a big supporter of purchasing from local mom and pop shops whenever possible. However, when a shop makes a blatant decision to act against their own self interest by restricting customers from being able to actually browse and shop at their store I have difficulty being sympathetic. None of the other gear shops in town operate this way, the state is not requiring them to operate this way. It blows my mind when companies make decisions that in now way serve their own best interest or that of the customers that are trying to serve. Speaks a lot about the management and the arrogance with which they choose to operate in today’s day and age. My business will be going elsewhere from here forward. There are too many places that offer better service without the self entitled attitude. Probably not worth going out of your way to visit this shop unless you know precisely what you want to purchase. If you want to go look around you will be better off going elsewhere as they don’t do much to facilitate folks that want to shop this way.While, I do not regularly post reviews of any company online, I do feel as though folks have the right to know that if they go out of their way to drive to a particular store, they may run into some issues that will end up presenting some challenges. In light of covid, folks that go out of their way to visit your shop have good intentions and want to support your business. I have witnessed most all retailers taking precautionary measures without alienating the relationship between company and customer. I certainly could not run my business in such a way. The competition is handling things very differently and in a way that is quite conducive to facilitating a safe shopping experience. Its ok if we dont agree, the feedback is being offered, wether you choose to interpret it as useful or not will be left up to you.

Everytime I shop here I am impressed with the service the staff provides. They are patient and laid back. Even when Im not sure what Im after, they take the time to listen to my situation. Then suggest products to solve my predicament, and teach me how to use the equipment. They never peddle equipment you dont need or that is sub par. Comforting to know these experts always have the answer.

I am a brand new climber and went in to get a pair of shoes. They had a very wide selection and were very helpful in explaining what type of shoe I should get and made sure to tell me that as a beginner I should get a shoe that is less than $100. It felt good that they werent trying to sell me the best/more expensive shoe but the best shoe for me.
