Let me start by saying I had been going to Bumper Doc in Kearny Mesa for years and years. However, two bad experiences with them and I won’t be going anymore.1) someone back into my car in a parking lot. Actually it took a long time in the parking lot to figure out where/what the bump was. Finally found it. The other party was very nice and had good insurance. I took it to Bumper Doc for an estimate and it was $560. The other party wanted to pay out of pocket. I took the car home and my husband and 6 year old grandson buffed the “scape” out.2) My husband was hit in the bumper of his car also in a parking lot. There was definitely some damage. The other party had good insurance and was also interested in possibly paying out of pocket. I took it to BumperDoc and they quoted me $2400–which seemed insane to me. The other party said for that price he was using his insurance. I then went to Terry’s Auto body Shop in Oceanside. They quoted me $1239. I brought the car in and less than 2 days later my car was finished and everyone was happy.It appears to me that BumpDoc is now using some software to determine an estimate that has skyrocketed their prices.So sorry to see this happen. I use to like them a lot and trusted them. That’s gone and so am I.

Eddie and the guys at Bumper Doc do great work. They just finished multiple repairs on my 2006 GMC that required close coordination, multiple vendors, an insurance claim, and progressive effort after each step. They helped stay within my budget, and I would highly recommend them. The finished product was exactly what I was trying to achieve, and was very reasonably priced. A bullet hole went through my bumper and came out the other side. I took the car to Fix it Auto and Bumper Doc. The difference in quality and customer service was like night and day. Fix it Auto had an individual that never worked on cars give me a rough estimate for doing a poor patch work job and told me to leave the keys in the office. Bumper Doc worked with the Manufacturer and Insurance company to replace the bumper and fix the damage to the sheet metal and inner panel. The level of quality was so different it was my opinion that Fix It works for the insurance company, not the customer. I am also happy to support this family business that is professional, expert in their field, friendly and concerned for the customer.

Eddie and his crew know customer service and it shows. I went in to get my rear bumper replaced and a new tail light after someone hit me, as well as get the headlights restored. I checked out a few other spots in the area and found BumperDoc quoted a fair, competitive price for the work. I was given a good explanation of what parts were available at what cost (OEM vs AM). Eddies transparency, willingness to work with me, and the many good reviews the shop has are what made me decide to go with BumperDoc.We had a minor miscommunication on when the job would be complete due to delayed delivery of parts. When I returned to pick up my car it was not finished, but BumperDoc handled this well and helped me so that I wouldnt be car-less. Also my car, though not a custom color, is a less-generic silver/grey that can be difficult to match. Shops in the past have had issues with it. The color variation from the VIN does not take to the plastic bumpers the way it does the body. That happened this time, the new bumper was darker than the body but did not stand out until the sun hit it. I pointed it out to Eddie and with no issue he told me to bring it back in and they would tweak the color and fix it - now it looks perfect.I gave 5 stars still because the small setbacks are pretty common ones in body shops and I bring them up to emphasize how BumperDoc handled them, which was much better than most. Overall great experience and the finished product of my car looks very good. Their quality of work and honesty are what will bring me back in the future should I need more work done.

Took my car in for headlight restoration and I really wish I had taken a before picture for comparison. The work was exceptional and I was in and out in about 45-mins. The gentleman in the store (I believe he may be the owners son) was very nice and his customer service was incredible. Im glad I found this place because my headlights now look like theyre brand new.I definitely recommend this place.

My F150 received a large dent on tailgate. Several body shops just wanted to replace the panel because they were afraid to work with aluminum. Eddie D. was confident of his shop’s ability to fix the dent at a very reasonable price. The dent was fixed as good as new in two days. Eddie was knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and fair. I will be coming to this shop for any future work.

Went in with my 2000 4Runner on multiple occasions. Not sure if its because my car is old or I just looked poor but all I wanted was a little service. My money is green like everyone else. Rick told me hed call me back by the end of the day to give me some pricing. No call. Waited until the next day, no call. Finally after 3 days of not hearing back I decided to call them again. Eddie answered and said Rick is off today but hed call me the following day. No call. Ive driven to their shop 3 times to speak with them and for some reason Im being ignored. I was kind, polite and had to go above and beyond as the potential customer only to be met by very poor service standards towards me and Im offended af.

Very satisfied with my experience. Had some custom work done on a urethane lip/spoiler (urethane is a difficult/annoying material to work with). For the amount of labor and additional materials used, plus my few special requests, the amount I paid was more than fair. On top of this, the job was done in a very timely fashion, with drop off and final delivery ETA honored. Lip looks amazing, with the paint quality looking better than the factory Subaru paint on my car.

Outstanding experience. Im a really tough one to please and they hit the mark across the board. My grill looks like new and the price was better than expected.

Eddie the manager was very friendly and helpful in providing an estimate for the needed work. I was provided a promised time and it ended up I had to wait an additional 45 minutes for the car to be finished, but it was not that bad. My dented back bumper was corrected and the slightly dislodged fender was corrected. They also did some minor work on some damage on the front fender. My cars body looks good, the frosted pearl paint was well matched and I am pleased with the results. The shop is very busy and Eddie has his hands full dealing with the in shop customers and the phone calls.

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon hoping for a miracle as there other shops had told me it would be at least three days before they could fit me in. A phone call was made and I was asked if I could come back in an hour or so. I said yes, and I dropped my car off an hour later. I had a dent/ding the size of a half dollar on the drivers side front fender. I was expecting 2-3 hours, the guy said give me 45 minutes. I walked across the street to grab some food, and by the time my order was ready I got the call saying that he was done! It was perfect, I couldnt even figure out where the dent was before. Super friendly, great customer service, super fast, highly recommend.

Eddie is the best! I texted him photos of my messed up bumper before I came in and he provided me with an estimated quote. Once I came in and he could see the real damage he gave me a finalized quote but he still honored the previous quote he gave me. He was very straight forward with me he didnt try to up sell me on anything by trying to tell me I needed to replace the whole bumper. He said I could but it was going to cost me more and told me he was trying to quote me the most cost effective way. If I ever get into anymore car trouble I will be back.

I decided to only fix the tail light, since the bumper was too expensive a job to get done right away. He had it done in just about an hour, and he even popped the bumper out for me free of charge! Couldn’t be happier and I’ll definitely return and recommend to anyone needing body work.

My case was elective in that I wanted to change a bumper, not because of damage, just for cosmetics. They gave me an excellent quote to repair and install a salvaged OEM bumper. The part of this whole transaction which impressed me the most, and is the reason that I am writing this, is that they did not like the way the bumper looked after the installation so they did the job again. I got my car tinted with these guys and they had me in and in no time. They walked me through my options and made sure that I felt good about being able to come back if I ever had an issues with the job they did. Ive known a few people that have gone there to fix paint issues they had from rock chips and accidents and the paint matching looks flawless. Totally recommend this place!

Why am I not surprised to see that this is not the first review reporting damage and poor service. I brought my 2008 Porsche Cayman S to have the bumper repainted. Bumper looks great but they damaged the wiring harness while performing the work. They didnt report the damage to me when I picked the car up so it wasnt until my car went to the dealership that I had found out about it. They initially denied that they were responsible. Then they demanded I bring the car to them to fix damage. Now they dont return phone calls. Ive had good experiences at other Bumper Doc locations. The management here lacks integrity. Buyer beware!

After I crumpled my hood and part of my side on my Hyundai Accent, I feared she would end up sold for scrap. Then I started getting estimates in hopes of restoring the damage I had done. Out of 6 Autobody stores I got estimates from, Bumper Doc was the best priced, so I went with them. They did such a great job at restoring my front end, it looks showroom new! Six stars is what this business deserves in my opinion. Their customer service was excellent and they kept in touch with me every step of the way. Even though they ran into some unexpected things with my Jag bumper, they did a fantastic job and honored the original quote. They were concerned about doing a great job on my bumper and that is exactly what they did. There were no attempts to sell me other services which is something you dont see that often... I cant even get a haircut without a sales pitch these days.Excellent work... I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs bodywork.

Ive gone here twice to use a Groupon and get my windshield cracks fixed. The customer service here is absolutely fantastic! The first time I ever cracked my windshield I went and the owner/manager was very kind and let me watch as he explained the process on how it gets fixed. The second time I ever broke it, it was a complicated crack and it was an absolute no-brainer that I would go back to the same place. They make you feel welcome and secure at a time when you may need it the most (dealing with what could end up being expensive car repairs) and that kind of customer service just cant be compared. Very much recommended and keep an eye out for those Groupon deals too!
