Wow! This place is great! Definitely a nice spot for the family to enjoy ice cream, and love how the seating isnt congested like the parking lot. Atmosphere was great. I had the milk and cereal, which I cannot recommend enough! It was so smooth and creamy! My son had the strawberry, which he enjoyed, but it was pretty much sorbet. The only con was that the lines were a bit long cause a worker kept trying to have a conversation with every customer. I was forth in line, but it took about 20-25 minutes to take an order.Overall, a great experience for the kids as they got to watch how the ice was made.
We just had the Tasty Noodle next door and saw this ice cream place with all the nitrogen fume everywhere and thought it was pretty cool. They served egg puff with nitrogen cooled ice cream. We tried a few and love the Vietnamese Coffee with regular egg puff. It was so good. We will definitely come back for more. Highly recommended to all.
This place is a hidden gem off the clairmont mesa Blvd/convoy area and was surprisingly good. I was expecting a simply ice cream place but was treated to a fun experience where they flash freeze your treat and then decorate it with interesting styles. Affordable and friendly, they made out choices as we ordered and we only wait a few minutes for the interesting waffle backing for our vietnamese coffee dessert and my mint chocolate chip only took a minute to prepare. After it was placed in the cup they made a little swirl with it and it helped hold on the sprinkles I had added. Highly recommend for a casual night out or maybe even a post dinner date location.
What a fun experience! Watching the ice cream being made was interesting and very different! The flavors were terrific, too! The staff take the ice cream and fashion a flower out of the scoop if you like. The puffles come in three different flavors, original churro, and red velvet. The red velvet is almost chocolaty, so it went well with my Salted Caramel Crunch ice cream.
Exceeded expectations. My Earl Grey Lavender ice cream was perfectly balanced and delicious (as was my wifes less balanced, minty-as-hell scoop) and it held up surprisingly well against the warm bubble waffle. There was a bit of bottom melt, but the paper container didnt leak at all and made for a great final shot of lavender.
Cute idea... ice cream made with liquid nitrogen and shaped into a rose and served in a puffle (puffy waffle) if you want. They say the red velvet puffle tastes like chocolate cake, but thats a bit of a stretch for a chocolate lover. Id love to see a real chocolate puffle become available. Its fun to watch the liquid nitrogen smoke bubble out like a witches cauldron. Since its made to order, it takes a while to get your ice cream. Im partial to the mint chocolate chip and double chocolate flavors. Though they do have some unique flavors. The tables are often left a bit dirty. Not sure how often the team comes around to wipe them down.
A new frequent spot for me and my friends. the icecream is AMAZING!! And of course it always looks picture perfect! all of the staff is super amazing and friendly. I always get the cauldron flavor icecream with honey topping and no oreo crumbles (all toppings are an extra .50 cents and there are no substitutions but its worth it!) and honestly its the smoothest, creamiest, and most delicious ice cream I have ever had.
This was a fun experience! It’s interesting to see the way the ice cream is mixed and made. They have fun flavors to try as well. I had the lavender honey last time which had too much honey. This time, I had the cookies and cream (can’t remember the actual name) and I loved it. The rose formation is so cute.
I love their ice cream and flavors. My favorite so far is The Cauldron. Its fairly pricey and you can only get one flavor per cone/cup and cant change up the flavor for every scoop... this may seem small but for me a big deal. Ice cream is my most favorite thing and I love having a mixed flavored cone!
Fantastic ice cream! The warm puffles and perfect, cold freshly made ice cream make for a tasty combination. Ive had both the Sun Moon and Stars flavor (the blue one) and the Earl Grey. I really enjoyed both equally!Be warned though, the line can be ROUGH. Everything is made to order and there isnt many people working, plus its very popular. Theres also only one bathroom which can make it hard because everyone wants to wash their hands if the ice cream drips (which lets be honest, is always).Overall, Id definitely come here many more times, but at less popular hours.
The best ice cream in sad diego. They have a few locations all over too like orange county and LA. Every flavor is delicious. I like to get the green tea, oolong, and jasmine ice cream (I forget the actual name but its the blue one with star sprinkles) the puffle waffle is always delicious too. They make the ice cream right in front of you so you know its fresh. The line is long on the weekend nights but so worth the wait.I came here again when they released the japanese fluffy waffle. It wasnt worth it. They give you less ice cream and it take an extra 25 mins. Just go with a puffle waffle or no cone.
Start off with the puffle. Yum.. i dont know what it is about it but it is just the perfect compliment to the ice cream. I ordered the smores ice cream. I was a little disappointed with the fact that it was just chocolate ice cream with a marshmallow and some Graham cracker crumbs on the side. Not mixed in but on the side.Ive been to orange location and I tried the salted caramel one with pretzel and it was mixed into the ice cream and it was delicious. This one not so much. My boyfriend enjoyed his more than I did. Even though the chocolate chip toppings that he got were useless. More fell on the table than what he actually ate.I still like the place they just need to work on a few things thats all
The ice cream is so good. I prefer the puffle cone. I hope you guys stay in business
The Sun and Moon ice cream is blue with star shaped sprinkles. It has a very creamy taste, and the green tea flavor is still present but not over powering. The Vietnamese coffee flavor tastes very much like coffee flavored ice cream. The Churro puffle didnt taste as good as I expected. The Churro sugar leaves a strange grittiness on your teeth.Overall the ice cream is very creamy and good!
Sadly when I went today around 4 they were closed. Ive been there before, however, and its very delicious. I adore how they shape it into a rose after they make it from scratch right in front of you. Definitely worth a stop by if they open back up again.
Liquid nitrogen used while mixing ice cream in a mixing bowl. Watching the process is quite entertaining in itself. Ice cream stays cold longer (unless served in a hot puffle cone, Hong Kong style egg cone). Rose H2O was wonderfully flavored, refreshing and tasted pretty. Prices are comparable to any other artisan ice cream salon. Be advised that if wanting to try multiple flavors you will have to place multiple orders. For example, you cannot order a two scoop cup, one scoop matcha, one scoop rose. However they do offer a digital point card for the ice cream. Employers are actually adorners, carving a flower onto the tops of every ice cream ordered via ice cream scoop. Going on a Friday or weekend evening/night requires a bit of patience due to the high volume of mutual ice cream fans. Be advised that every order is made for that customer. I waited slightly over ten minutes for my order to arrive (still not bad for how busy it was).
Wow. This is an incredible ice cream experience. Beautiful black interior with a neon light in the back illuminating, Its not goinna lick itself. Kitchen Aid stand mixers hooked up to giant tanks of liquid nitrogen that smoke and steam upon activation. Then when you receive your beautiful ice cream in a warm, soft, pocketed waffle cone, they shape the scoop into a flower. Above that, they have various unique flavors. Their signature The Cauldron with vanilla-cinnamon ice cream dusted with Oreos is a must have.
This location is absolutely outstanding. looking forward to going back again. the bill was reasonable i would say.
Very tasty. Service is consistently great. Prices were decent.
Wonderful, quick service. Kevin and Karen were upset because some coupon didnt work and the Ice Cream Slinger kept calm while creating a lovely flower design in our Vegan Pineapple Express. Cant wait to come back 🖤
One of the best spots in the area. definitely worth a return visit. the prices are good for what you get.
This is a great place to not only eat some delicious ice cream, but also to see it made right in front of your eyes with amazing liquid nitrogen machines. Ive had the blue one that tastes like tea called Sun Moon & Stars, and also had the Earl Grey Lavender and The Cauldron. They were all great, but whats even better is the cone that has the puffed circles in it. So warm and tasty with the melting ice cream. One interesting thing that Ive noticed here is that some of the employees dont really seem to be too happy with their job, even though theyre still polite and professional with the customers. Like if you agree!
Very awful experience we drove down here all the way from Alpine to get something new for ice cream wise and the website specifically said they closed at 10 and as we got up here we walked up to the place and they told us that they were closed. thats awful, maybe you should update your website so people dont drive out here for anything.😠
Great ice cream and its fun to watch them make it. I love the Vietnamese coffee ice cream. Weirdly, the best coffee they have is called a blue bantha which is a star wars reference and the only reference in the shop. Great shop though
Really really good ice cream its not really sweet and over powering. Just perfect. They make these really cute flower shapes. Thier puff waffle cones are perfect with the ice cream.
The mint-choco ice cream was absolutely delicious! Their ice cream is extremely soft and smooth, nearly no air bubbles! It feels dense once you put it in your mouth, but melts so nicely. I recommend trying it with the puff cone, because of the contrast between hot and cold.Gobbled mine up in less than 5 minutes! One thing that could be changed it maybe the packaging for the puff cone, because the waffle is very hot after it is freshly made. So be careful!
I had high hopes for Cauldron ice cream, Ive been waiting months to go. I finally had a chance to go with my wife and a friend for dessert. Coming from North County San Diego is a bit of a drive, and really takes a lot of time on the freeway. Thats not so bad, the part that I wish was better was the cone part of the ice cream. What you may not know is the bubbly cones are made to order, which makes them really hot. So unless you eat your ice cream really fast, like me, youll end up with a puddle of melted ice cream at the bottom of the cone. This isnt necessarily bad, but Id prefer the cones to be a bit cooler. Well, at least you know its freshly-made.
Delicious and pretty. We go after we eat at kura across the street. The puffel(puffle idk how the spelling is) cone is very good. But i recommend to have not eaten to much before cause it can fill you up. My wife loves the rose flavor and I like the veitnamese coffee. Chocolate is good as well.
The ice cream was good but not the best. This ice cream shop is different and unique, and the rose design is pretty. It was really crowded when we went, so we didnt get to watch the employees make the ice cream, which I think is part of the experience. The cauldron ice cream and puffle cone are good.
The puffle cone is really yummy and I loved the detailed rose design. Its fun to wait in line and watch them make the ice cream with dry ice. I tried the Rose H20 flavor. It wasnt bad but it was very light and kind of bland. My friend had vanilla which was really tasty. Definitely try it out for a fun and new ice cream experience.
The absolute smoothest ice cream I have EVER had in my life. I strongly recommend the mint chocolate chip or the Cauldron flavors (though the Cauldron has added texture that takes away somewhat from the sliky smooth experience). The rose design in each serving is nice, and the serving sizes are reasonable.
Food was so delish. prices are fair i would say.
Really frustrating when a business does not update their operating hours. You should at least have an auto recorded message with updated hours too for when people call to confirm if your hours are effected by pandemic.
Was one of the first people to try this out when it opened. Its about $6.50 for their waffle puffle cone with one scoop of ice cream and to me that is plenty to get the full. The building is often packed during late night weekends but we always manage to find a seat. They have some cool neon signs in the back and they are great at playing trendy, popular music inside. There are only have about a dozen flavors but they are all unique and I havent found one I do not like yet. Very happy with their efficiency despite long lines and staff is very friendly.
Interesting place for ice cream. They flash freeze the dessert in a mixing bowl. Id recommend getting The Cauldron.
This place is every bit as good as their on point Instagram feed leads you to believe. Not only is the ice cream great, the whole experience of how they make it with a system of kitchen aide mixers and liquid nitrogen tanks is so much fun. I highly recommend it for kids, dates, or a moment of treating yourself!
Well took me back to go into Farrels What great ice cream
You have to get the puffle cone! I had the Earl Grey Lavender and it was a delicious choice. Will definitely be a returning customer!
Looks better than it tastes and you will be forced to order two scoops of same flavors.
The restaurant is very accommodating and replaced glass noodle with flour noodle for my Guilin noodle soup and it is great. However, the beef this time tastes too old compared with last time I came to this place.Really hope they could maintain the consistent quality.
Vanilla was Great. Pineapple Whip was excellent. Chocolate was soft and so-so. Restroom floor needs a good scrub - very sticky & they need to turn up the AC. Its not attractive to make your customers sweat while waiting for frozen treats!
Rose H20 tasted just like a sweet rose!!! I dont know how they did that but I was blown away by this flavor! Im looking forward to trying more flavors!
I really want to give this place 5 stars but Im holding back because of two reasons:1. You cant sample any flavors2. Only one flavor per cup/serving allowedI really wanted to try several different flavors when I arrived but was informed there are no samples. So I thought ok Ill just take a gamble on two flavors, but you can only get one flavor per serving. So I ended up getting the earl grey lavender and it was delicious but Im dismayed that to try the other flavors I need to actually order them separately. If yall can fix this then hands down this will be the best ice cream shop in San Diego.
Cool twist on a cold treat. They shape the ice cream into little rosettes & the neon sign is kinda funny.
Very delicious and beautiful hand made ice creams. I had the vegan option. So good. The staff are very friendly too. The parking lot is packed. Uber/Lift to this place.
Yeah the puffel cone hit the spot tonight. Red velvet puffel with salted caramel ice cream, sounds weird right but they were out of the puffel flavor I wanted to I did what I had to do. Ill be back for sure.
Its cool to see their ice-cream making process and to see them shape flowers into them, but its really overpriced ice-cream thats just ok.
You should update your website and Google maps hours if you are planning to be closed. We drive 30 minutes with friends from Chula Vista to come to you and you were closed.
Interesting concept. The Vietnamese coffee ice cream was fantastic! Will return!
Good only for one visit, as the excitement for innovation will die..coz its only about the flower shape of the ice cream. It doesnt taste as good as it looks... I felt, I wasted my time, money and calories for it...
Awesome traditional flavors with love the old school line up. Huge demand for this place.
Puffle cones are AMAZING! Its fun to watch them make your DELICIOUS ice cream. Friendly. Great place for an evening adventure for dessert!
Oh so great I love my profile pic is the icecream served there oh so great
Dessert with a show. Dessert made to order and presented as a work of floral art. I highly recommend this place!
Amazing, new, trendy, modern ice cream lab. They make your ice cream using liquid nitrogen, and then shape it into beautiful food art. Well worth a trip!
The puffle cone and Earl Grey-lavender ice cream was AMAZING!! My husband took me for my birthday and it was awesome! The ice cream was fresh, tasted seeet but not overwhelming at all. I cant explain it. It was so light and.....fresh tasting. I cant wait to go back!
Really great customer service. Can yall do better on the prices? LOL
Great great great ice cream, cool to make them watch it and make a cool design in your ice cream.
Very unique ice cream creations. Definitely cheaper than going to creamistry for liquid nitrogen ice-cream. Definitely worth the visit.
One of the best spots of its kind in the area. Ill return with my friends. It has a nice feel to it.
Ive had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back. Prices are fair I would say. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
Im sold on puffles! Bomb ice cream, friendly staff. Parking is gnarly but if youre used to convoy this is nothing new. Really solid dessert spot!
I love their puffle cone and how they make their ice cream here! It is a chain that started in the OC area!
First time customer and there service was excellent... the ice cream is delicious...
I will be bringing family next time. prices are appropriate for the quality.
Churro puffle, sea salt icream Changed my life. Best ice cream Ive ever had.
This place is absolutely amazing. The puffle cone ughh so bomb .10/10. 100% . A+
Ice cream was amazing. No traditional flavors. Just go with it and ENJOY.
