With having two kids and two (stinky) pets, we knew that it was finally time to get rid of our 15+ year old worn out carpet and replace it with a hardwood flooring of some type (vinyl, laminate, etc.). Since we wanted the flooring to also be installed on the stairs, it was important to me to have something that complimented the existing downstairs flooring (we have porcelain tile that looks like wood). We stopped by Interior Technique Flooring on a Friday afternoon and met with one of the owners, Dustin, in the showroom. The showroom has a ton of different brands, styles and types of flooring to choose from. We discussed our wish list with Dustin and we settled on either a waterproof laminate (who knew that even existed!?!) or a luxury vinyl plank. He was extremely patient with us and pulled out a LOT of samples to help to match our porcelain tile. Even though it was later in the day on a Friday, Dustin offered to come over to our house right away to take measurements. We ultimately decided on using a luxury vinyl plank, Provenza Finally Mine. The quote was reasonable and included some water damage repair to the master bathroom. When the crew arrived to start the installation, it was obvious that they were very experienced and skilled. They showed up on time every morning and made sure they cleaned up before they left for the day. Everyone was polite and even offered my husband some advice on installing baseboards since we decided to replace them ourselves (although Interior Technique does offer this service). Dustin was always available to answer questions via phone or in person (and my husband asks a lot of questions!). The job took about a week to complete. We are extremely happy with the end result! The floors are gorgeous and they almost perfectly match the tile floor downstairs (see close up photo of the stairs meeting the tile). The customer service from day 1 was outstanding! I had a slab leak that ruined part of my wood laminate floor. I had enough extra materials to do only part of the floor and they had discontinued it years ago. This flooring covers most of my downstairs, so I decided to go with a different flooring (tile) in the kitchen where the leak occurred. This would require a t-moulding transition, so my search began to find something that would match. My sixth stop was with Dustin. He spent about an hour with me to find another companys product that would match my flooring. While he did not have it in stock, he arranged to have it shipped directly to me. A week later it arrived and matched perfectly. The amount of money he made on this transaction wasnt much Im sure, especially considering the amount of time he spent with me. These guys were great. We had a difficult tear out and replace. There was a lot of potential hidden cost associated with the prior installation. Dustin was right on top of things. He budgeted fairly and we proceeded with the job. My family and two cats were displaced form the home so scheduling was important. His crew did what ever it took to stay on pace. They completed right on the day promised. I really cant say enough good things about the team and company. They bailed us out of a bad situation. And, compared to what I would have paid the big national chain, I saved over $9,000 and got a beautiful, high quality, engineered acacia floor! Im not saying that was the price difference between the two, I actually decided to install the floor myself. It took me nearly 2 months (mainly weekends and some evenings) to do 4 large rooms, 8 stairs, a hallway, and a bath, but I highly recommend it! Im now enjoying a beautiful floor thats all paid off, instead of making payments for years! Empire, on the other hand, tried to talk us into a floating floor installation. That would have been a huge mistake in our home, and in many homes in this area. Without getting into a detailed comparison, just check the reviews on Empire Today Flooring, and floating floors, before you buy.I also want to mention that, when comparing within a price range, the quality of Interior Techniques engineered hardwood was much better than what we saw in other places. The overall thickness, and the top layer of true hardwood, was thicker, and more robust than the similar product from Lumber Liquidators. And, after installing more than a thousand square feet myself, I can say that the flaw rate I saw was well under 1%!You wont regret going with these guys!

Interior Texhnique installed all the floor in my clients Solana Beach home. Dr. Rankweer is a very picky client, but the flooring really pulls the design together.The store has so many selections you can get dizzy, but they really had some great ideas and I ended up going with their choice in product.
