Dr. Nguyen is wonderful. He took his time with the refraction to give me the most crisp vision possible. And, I did not have to be dilated because of the offices optomap technology.

Some stores claim to be luxury boutiques, but Ultimate Eyecare has the key ingredient to making a truly high-end pair of glasses—Zeiss lenses. Thanks to their Swiss partner, they were the only shop in Santa Fe that could put my difficult prescription in a pair of WileyX wrap sports frames with Transitions. Just what I need for hiking and biking. Great customer service, too—they replaced the lenses on a pair of office frames I brought to them and even fixed them two months later when I stepped on them. No charge on the repair! That’s the mark of a luxury shop.

Dr. Rasmussen has put together a friendly, professional, and efficient team. I was in and out in about half an hour. Dr. Rasmussen is personable and explains things clearly. I couldnt ask for more.

Dr. Rasmussen takes the time to get to know you and your eye care needs. He is extremely informative and give a detailed explanation of what is going on with your eyes. Th optical shop has a wonderful selection of frames and will go out of there way to make sure you get exactly what you need. The front desk is very helpful and welcoming. Additionally, Ultimate Eye care is now offering the Optos Monaco to decrease the necessity of dilation. The Monaco not only takes about a 200 degree photo of your eyes, but it can also scan through your retina so that Dr. Rasmussen can evaluate the health of your eyes where the naked eye can not. A number of locals recommended Dr. Rasmussen - and for good reason. Short wait time, courteous and skilled staff, and a thorough and detailed checkup. Dr. Rasmussen took time, not only with tests, but in explaining every test and result. The glasses shop has an excellent selection of frames and specialists in both progressive and photochromic lenses and explain your options in great detail. Not inexpensive but not outrageously expensive either. Im waiting for my new prescription but am optimistic that my vision will improve with their care in evaluating my needs.

I saw Dr. Rasmussen because I recently moved to SF and hes in my insurance network. The exam was very thorough and he spent time explaining a lot about my eye health. I think Im in good hands.

I was looking for a new Eye Doctor to fill my prescription for reading glasses and happened on Dr. Rasmussens practice by chance. I agree to pay an additional fee for their Optical Coherence Tomography which allowed me to avoid dilation. The amount of eye health intelligence that came from the OCT was amazing. I was so impressed that I have urged my wife to shift eye doctors over to Dr. Rasmussen.

***REVISED April 1st, 2017: I was contacted by the practice manager via email who offered a partial refund and an opportunity to find a lab that would produce the progressive lenses correctly at no charge.___________________________________________________After 3.5 months waiting for correct glasses (and I still didnt get what I paid for)***Bottom Line Up Front: nice people who work hard, but lack ownership for their mistakes and lack the technical expertise to provide progressive lenses.GO IF you require straight-forward single vision glasses.DO NOT GO IF you want progressive lenses.----------------------------------------------------------------------TIMELINE OF WHAT WENT WRONG:Eye Exam -- excellent4 weeks later (holidays delay)...1st Glasses -- lenses PERFECT, frames assembled INCORRECTLY fell apart as I walked out the door.3 weeks later...2nd Glasses -- (different lab) frames PERFECT, right eye lens INCORRECT. (told to have prescription re-tested)4 days later...2nd Eye Exam -- excellent (same prescription as before)2 weeks later...3rd Glasses -- (same lab) frames PERFECT, right eye lens INCORRECT (same issue as before).GAVE UP on progressive lenses, requested straight-forward single-vision lenses.2.5 weeks later...4th Glasses -- single-vision lenses PERFECT, frames PERFECT.Requested partial refund for less expensive single-vision lenses. Staff refused, saying that cost was absorbed by the re-make of glasses. Told staff member how I felt about it, and her response was, ...well Ill pass it along...CONCLUSIONS:December 2016 to March 2017.SIX trips to this office.Ignored by office manager as I came in the door on final two visits.Now it feels like visiting State Revenue Office.No continuity of client information between staffers.I worked the HARDEST for these $800 glasses, which ARENT what I paid for.Personally I paid for this offices mistakes in time, money, gasoline, and positive composure until now...What other recourse do I have?I challenge anyone from this office to take ownership and make this situation right. I will amend this review if that occurs.
