All the employees are polite and friendly, all of them ride, and all of them are super knowledgeable about, well, everything.I bought a bike from them a year ago and am delighted with it and with the service that they provide. Whether it was replacing a rear wheel on my 40-year-old Schwinn Paramount or fixing a bent derailleur hanger on my Salsa Timberjack, they can do it - and do it fast and well.

Breakaway Bikes has always been a tremendously reliable shop. They’ve helped me in a pinch on multiple occasions, and they are always willing to help solve a problem. Last week, I lost a rear shock bolt nut with a very specific design. I took my bike into BB thinking that I wouldn’t be riding for weeks until the nut was replaced. But one of their awesome mechanics found a nut at the hardware store next door, ground it down, and it was a perfect fit. I was truly impressed as I was back to riding immediately. I highly recommend BB!

I’ve been going to breakaway for a while now and they always have the consumable parts you need, like chains, bottom brackets and brake pads. They helped me with warranty claims and have been 100% professional. Breakaway is a great shop. They have done amazing work on my bikes, and they are always the most friendly and helpful when purchasing parts and educating customers on what to look for when purchasing bikes or equipment. Breakaway has helped me out numerous times when I’ve needed something last minute to quickly get my bike back on the trail. They set me up with an awesome demo bike when mine was in for service. They also support the Nor Cal High School Mountain Bike team that my son is on! They really help out these kids with bike and equipment packages and maintenance, which shows their commitment to community, and the sport!

They did a most excellent job tuning up my old bike. Talked through with me beforehand what they recommended and discussed the costs so there were no surprises. Rode like new and the price was very reasonable. Very knowledgeable, polite and did not talk down to me, which did not go unnoticed (I have had some bike places assume since I am female I know nothing about bike mechanics). Highly recommend.

Breakaway bikes is like family to me. The shop was a sponsor for the mountain bike team I joined and they helped me every step of the way. I had never raced before and continually went to the shop for help fixing my bike or suggestions for parts that I would need to complete an upgrade. Our family has been going to this bike shop for years. We drive 30 minutes across town to go there for the last 5+ years. Kevin, Dan, Mike and all the guys have always treated us right. It is a small shop but they have huge heart. What ever your bike needs: If you are a parent looking for the bike for your kid. They have the knowledge to set you up with the right size and type. If you are shopping for an adult they really educate themselves on the bikes they offer. Bike problems they are really good at what they do. and great seasonal sales! The guys at breakaway always come through. Helpful and willing when you have a mid ride mechanical and need quick help. The shop has built a few bikes for me, the workmanship and attention to detail will have me coming back for the next bike too. I have shopped at this store since it opened. I have had them service both my road bike and several mtbs. Their shop rate is fair and their work is top notch. I have also bought may parts to upgrade my bikes over the years. Again, their prices are fair and they can usually have the parts just as quick if you were to order online. So if you need a kiddie bike or some insane downhill monster, this is the first and last place to shop.

This bike shop is AMAZING! I dropped off a few bikes that needed some repairs, one of which was in really bad shape. Not only did they do the repairs extremely quickly, but all of them were so expertly treated that they all made an appearance at Burning Man! The one that needed the most love was the favorite in the group! But that’s what they do at Breakaway. They give love and attention to the bikes you cherish. So many thanks to this wonderful shop!

I got super friendly advice and assistance from the staff. They were extremely knowledgable on all subjects. I came in with an electric unicycle wheel that had popped and they hooked me up with a tube repair kit after giving me many options. THANK YOU FOR THE EXPERIENCE!!!

My 13 - year old twins LOVE our neighborhood Breakaway Bikes! I bought their first mountain bikes there about 5 years ago. Every time I call for something or need anything they help. For example, my son had something wrong with his chain and we couldnt fix it at home so I called and they were so cool they let us bring it by and they fixed it for free. Also, once I needed a needle to pump up their tires and all the stores were out. When I walked in, they just gave me a needle! The ENTIRE staff who work there are really SO nice!

It’s got a solid “locals” feel and is located right next to Annadel Park which makes it an ideal place to swing by before, and/or after your rides. This shop is rad!!!!

I have had the opportunity to use Breakaway Bikes several times over the years. I ride older bikes (mountain, cross and road) and am not interested in purchasing a new bike until I need one. I will not frequent the other bike shops in town as invariably I am told my bike(s) are too old to be fixed and thus I must purchase a new one. Breakaway Bikes has never once given me this verbiage. Yesterday I came in the shop with an older mountain bike wheel that needed a new freehub. I was not told I needed a new wheel; they had the part in the shop and replaced it while I waited. In my opinion this is the best bike shop in town and I’ve been to all of them at one time or another. Thank you Breakaway Bikes for consistently giving me excellent customer service.

Some young staff member was helpful at time of purchase, but in return trip, treated very poorly. Guess once a sale is made, they don’t care about their customers.

The staff is super helpful and answered all my questions! I havent decided on which bike I want yet, but, I can make an informed decision because they really know their stuff.

Now that I have been a few times and had them work on my vintage Santa Cruz Heckler I can tell you that this is good shop. It is smallish and without a lot of product, but this is a tough retail market and what they have is solid. The staff is great especially Kevin whom I have dealt with several times and he is quite good and personable. They good prices and most import at least two good mechanics. They get a good amount of my bike business.

This place is great and the staff know what their doing! I have encountered a lot of pretentious bike people at other shops, and at larger department stores nobody knows anything about the products. I had been shopping for a bike for some time (im pretty picky)and was getting rather frustrated. SO RELIEVED to find this shop!

Breakaway is a top tier bike shop.Ive been saving and looking for a full suspension mountain bike for a good while. Kevin was able to hook me up with a Norco Optic that exceeds my wildest dreams. They got the bike ordered, in and built incredibly quickly even with a few modifications to the stock build.When I picked up my new bike, I could see the attention to detail and quality that the mechanics put into building this bike up. On top of that, they spent the time to get the suspension customized for me and go over all of the controls and adjustments as I wasnt familiar with the Fox setup on the Optic.Thanks again for solid service, a quick turnaround and running and excellent, down home bike shop!!
