I have to say that this eye care services is perfect! all the staff are very friendly and all of the service are pretty professional and lovely! Not only the doctor but also the nurses and the front desk are already helpful and specific. I think they have all been trained in a very friendly way and they are very patient with every single sentence you say. I do enjoy both the eye examination as well as the glasses design. I will definitely come back next year for the new eye examination and renew the contact lenses.🥰

They helped me out with trial pairs of contacts when I ran out of mine in while in State College- and I do not even go there! (only because I do not live in State College). Very nice and helpful!

Dr. Temnykh and Dr. Anderson are absolutely amazing. This is where I went all four years while I studied at Penn State. Now that I’ve moved away I can’t find an eye doctor that even comes close.

Dr. Amanda Temnykh & her staff were absolutely amazing. Courteous, understanding, and very knowledgeable. All my questions were answered, exam & procedures were explained in detail and Dr. Amanda reported the findings and made recommendations - she is a consummate professional. Period.

I am very satisfied and happy with the eye exam. Dr. Anderson patiently went though multiple prescriptions, till he found the one that my eyes could adjust to. He also patiently answered all my questions & addressed my concerns. I would happily recommend this place!For the curious, below are details about whats done during a routine eye exam (for spectacles; in order of events):0) Get patient history (for new patient). They also make sure to inform you about any uncovered insurance benefits beforehand.1) Automated prescription reading (via auto-refractor)2) Test eye pressure (both eyes)3) Retinal-imaging (to test for retinal abnormalities)(now the doctor steps in)4) Reports the results of retinal imaging & eye pressure readings5) Checks pupillary reaction to light6) Assess eyes using a slit lamp7) Manually tests the prescription & makes necessary adjustments (makes you read eye charts though a phoropter)8) Comments on prescription changes and his recommendations. Finally, answers your questions!9) If the prescription has changed, then he takes you to the optician for getting new glasses.

Excellent optometrist in the State College area. I have been coming here for about 3 years now. Recently I called to order contacts due to the Covid-19 shutdown they are not seeing patients currently. Advanced Eye Care Services worked quickly and efficiently with me to get some contacts delivered to my home. I cannot recall any other eye care professionals that are this responsive and kind.GREAT PLACE!

Knowledgeable, skilled, thorough, & extremely helpful!I am thoroughly impressed by the staff at Advanced Eye Care, & especially so with Dr Temnykh!!Though she didnt find the cause of my double vision, she ruled out all possible eye related causes, & explained every test & its result, & did discover I had astigmatism, as well. I was even fortunate enough to get a same day appointment!I highly recommend this Dr!!!

My friend recommended Dr. Amanda to me. The annual eye exam experience was great. The doctor is very patient and answers every question I had. There was some issue about the billing on contact lens exam but when I contacted them again, the problem was solved and the staffs were patient and helpful.

The annual exam and everything was fine, but when I tried to get contacts, April, ran my benefits incorrectly. I wasn’t even supposed to get contacts yet, and they gave them to me. THEN they charged me for their mistake. I returned the contacts so they would stop trying to charge me and when my benefits renewed they somehow cannot run my benefits because I’m inactive? This place is all messed up. If I didn’t already pay for the contact lenses fitting fee I would have taken my services somewhere else. Mind you, this has been going on for MONTHS! This morning, Julie, has fixed everything so she definitely bumps my 2 star review to a 3 star! Thanks Julie!

Great great attitude. But I wish I could spend less time waiting and have more accurate prescriptions. I am currently sitting inside. This is my 3rd visit for my current contact prescription. Every single time, I spent more than 15 min waiting. I am not exactly sure if this is the state of the art in this industry or I am a complete outlier among their customers. But I wish they could have a better scheduling system so that the doctor does not have to spend the first 5 min of the appointment apologizing and focuses more on the eye exam. (If you are not going to be available until 10am, don’t give me the option to book an appointment at 9:40am.)Reply to Dr. Temnykh: Thank you so much for the reply. I appreciate your efforts at resolving this scheduling problem. Its too bad that I am graduating, so I dont think I will be able to benefit from the improvements. :(

We wanted to have our two year old daughters eyes checked. I was a little nervous/curious to see how Dr. Anderson would work with such a little person. He was amazingly gentle and calm. When he first came in he sat down and talked to her on her level, asking her several questions to help her feel comfortable. He was patient and thorough, and took the time to explain to her and us what he was doing with each test. We highly recommend him for children and adults too!

Perfect experience with friendly doctor and staff! They are professional and familiar with Penn State graduate assistant insurance.I got a same-day appointment for the eye examination and the glasses came in within 10 days. The staff waited for me patiently to select the frame, when I believe the store should be closed. Mike even fixed a separate pair of mine within seconds for free! Will come back and definitely recommend to everyone I know.

I am always so pleased with the service I receive when I go to Advanced Eye Care! The staff is extremely professional and welcoming. Glasses were a new thing to me at the start of 2016, and Marie has helped me on several occasions with choosing the right frames for my face. Both Mike and Marie are patient and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Advanced Eye...you will not be disappointed!

I dont know if Ive ever left any doctors office hoping Id have a reason to return! I found Advanced Eye Care through a search online, called and was able to get an appointment the next day. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Dr. Temnykh was personable and communicative. She explained each procedure, and at the end summarized everything I ever wanted to know about my eyes. All of this just to get my prescription updated! I will definitely be returning for any eye care I might need in the future!

Dr. Anderson was great with my daughter. He made her feel like a big girl and made it an enjoyable experience for her, while explaining to us (her parents) what he was doing and looking for. Very easy to make an appointment and all the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.

Let me be clear: Go here for great people and a wonderful experience. I was traveling and my glasses broke. That left me in a hard spot driving. Mike in the lab used my existing lenses with new frames and put me back on the road. What a life saver! The entire staff was involved and enthusiastic about helping me. Great people. It was worth it to take the bus all the way to get serviced here. My eye doctor was very nice, very professional, and helped me get new prescription to get rid of my migraines. The ladies also helped me to pick glasses. Go for the great service!Update.So my glasses were giving me migraines. Went back to get my frame adjusted. I have uneven ears and a bit of a crooked nose. The man took the time to make sure it fitted correctly. He got up 4 times to adjust it for me and voila- no more headaches!

Great experience here! Walked in, and immediately someone was there to help. Went in for sunglasses, helped me pick what I could get with my insurance. And sat down with me to pick the right one and i was in and out easy and, left with a smile on my face. :D

A long wait on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The place could use a good dusting! Dr. Anderson could be more personable. The eye techs are very friendly!!

Ive used their services as a Penn State graduate student for three years now and have referred over 10 friends so far! I love it! Their services are really good. They have a nice friendly atmosphere and really care for their customers.The only little downside is their product prices. I recently bought a frame for $244 (before insurance) while I could have got it for less than $150 online. The contact lenses that I used to get even with my insurance discount was almost twice the price of that I now order online. Is it worth it considering the professional care you receive? It depends on you and what you value.

Because of the proximity to the university, this place makes it easy for Penn State employees to use their insurance. Grad students get a free exam, frames and lenses once a year. The staff was very nice, the doctor was good, and the glasses arrived quickly after ordering.

Absolutely incredible experience. Dr. Rockower is the most friendly doctor I think Ive ever had the pleasure of working with (in any field of medicine), and the office staff were so helpful, polite, and knowledgeable. I was blown away, truly surprised by just how outstanding everything was. Dr. Rockower explained the results of my visit in detail as she walked me through my checkup. Ive never been so pleasantly surprised by any visit to an eye doctor before, and this is the first time a visit to a doctor has put me in a great mood for the rest of my day! Bravo!

Dr Anderson and his staff are some of the most compassionate people I have met. During out-patient surgery for a completely different issue, my daughters eye was severely scratched. The pain intensified later in the day. I called Dr Andersons office only to find it was their day out of the office. I called the emergency number and was told that Dr Anderson could meet us in his office in ten minutes. My daughter had to have follow-up treatments in his office the next three days. Dr Anderson and his staff saw us in the morning before their regularly scheduled appointments in order not to inconvenience other patients.
